What or who inspired your Durges design the most? A particular idea or vibe or perhaps another hottie or baddie?

How does their race play into the design? Was it a conscious choice because of the racial features or did you simply enjoy the playstyle or lore?

How do you prefer to portrait your Durge? Do you enjoy them in writing or their visuals more? If you're a writer or artist, would you/have you commissioned someone else before? Would you like to, in case you couldn't yet do it?

How did Durge come to be? Why them? Was it a vibe you tried to capture or a specific visual you wanted to represent? Did you borrow them from previous works or were they handcrafted for this story you have in mind?

Are they a plot device or the driving force? Do they exist to enhance Gortash or has Gortash developed to become the accessory wife? Do they compliment or foil each other?

Personality or looks, what came to you easier?

Is their personal story represented in their overall design? Do they carry any mental scars or physical alterations from the shit that happened to them?

Contradictory or easy to understand, which one applies more to your Durge? Is their design and personality a conundrum, or did you try to keep it as clear cut as possible?

How much did Bhaal influence their design or personality in the end? Did you research lore to purposefully get the resemblance or do you just go with the flow and what feels right for the story you want to tell?

How much of yourself can be found in your Durge? Do you share the same personality, taste, a specific feature? Are they who you want to be or who you used to be? Are they entirely removed from you as a person?

What's your go to medium for their portrayal? Google Docs, a niche notes app, perhaps one specific for writing, Procreate, Clip Studio, MediBang? Hit me with those recs. Do you sometimes mix em up?

No but @korruptbrekker reached out to me and asked if I was interested in doing a collab (go check out their piece here, I implore you), and you know I could not say no to such a wonderful artist asking lil ol me to do something fun like this. We ended up doing a swap @laugaheim and I came up with ages ago that I so sussinctly refer to as a moodboard-sketch-lineart-render swap. Rolls right off the tongue, right? Nah but it's exactly what it says. Make moodboards, swap and sketch from the other's, swap again and line the other's sketch, and then swap once again and finish the piece you sketched.

Very big thanks to Brekker for reaching out! This was so fun, I hope we can do something together again in the future!

this was heading in a bit of a different direction at the start but then the nostalgia got me and possessed me...

alas, here's real slavic Drzemek and Jerzix, which are not actual polish names, but plays on their names in English creating silly nicknames. and yes, George is Jerzy in Polish and not Grzegorz.

Drzemek is wearing, what I like to call, a wixapol style track suit. He obviously has completely shaved off on his head, like a 'dres', even though he is a cultured man. I apologise for him smoking Marlboro... but it's a commentary about growing up in poverty on osiedle and its consequences to be more prone to do stimulants...

George is fully cunty gay in clothes inspired by half of my gimnazjum, and the trasher hoodies they wore, but make it croptop. The important detail is that he is wearing flipflops and socks, what is very polish. He is doing the slavic squat to show off his tramp stamp. also don't pay attention to who he has on his back pockets...

There's so much stuff and references around them that you probably don't want me to explain. Overall, everything is done in this chaotic meme style that in Poland, I fear, is no longer ironic, and people just like to photoshop mess of pictures and wordart together. I see way too many facebook meme pages with this sorta thing.

stumbles in. one of my friend was complaining about that godawful hotel show, we all know the one, and how the character designs are cluttered and indistinct and all the same shape. so for some unknown reason i decided to tackle redesigning the main cast.

if it were my show, i'd actually tackle the seriousness of sex work, drug addiction, gambling, OCD, military service and propaganda, PTSD, and the actual concepts of sin and redemption and whether heaven is worth striving for if they're condemning people so easily.

but i have gone down this rabbit hole too far already, and if the vpop stans find this i am fucking turning off reblogs. i have never even watched this. why did i do this.

(I renamed half of them too bc I thought the og names were #Bad. V*ggie, Ang*l D*st, and H*sk are now Valerie (valor as a former angel soldier), Blue Diamond (FAR more subtle reference to a drug and actually fits in with his aesthetic), and Monty (the three-card monte scam).)
