I think my first cherik multichapter fic was "the bird's opening" by druswriting, absolutely fell in love with it. It's the hunger games au one, pretty popular.

OH WAIT NO- My first multichapter was actually "we'll be alright (some day soon)" by an orphan_account. I think that's the second part, there's two in the series, but that's the one I have bookmarked. Emotionally traumatizing but amazing.

"I want that twink obliterated" is HILARIOUS. Think: Deadpool on his wolverine hunting montage, shows up on the plane in dofp, and proceeds to hit on Charles and Erik.

One of my ALL TIME FAVORITE fics is "The Plus-One" by populuxe. Probably one of my favorite characterizations of moira, first off, and it's just hilarious and tense and takes place during the holidays, which makes it extra awkward/awesome.

"we might just be hollywood material, baby" by ikeracity, is another favorite series of mine. Think cherik basically just being in the same situation as their actors -- except they're actually gay for each other, lmao.

"When You're Looking Like That" by DavidRoseBrewer is a really cute high school au (with powers) fic that basically is just Charles's bi awakening. Spin the bottle not sold separately.

Another ALL TIME FAVORITE of mine is "The Desk Set" by justavagrant. Seriously. I've read it like five million times. It has everyone working at Stark industries, too, which is like one of my favorite things in cherik fics. Tony Stark makes everything more iconic.

Ah. The very first cherik fic i ever read, back before I had an AO3 account (took a WHILE to track it back down lmao) is "Never a Place" by kianspo. Set on genosha, post dark pheonix.

The series "Mandalorian Erik, Jedi Charles" by sadbigchungus made me FEEL THINGS AGH. The ANGST. The CUTENESS. THE STAR WARS!!! (will just warn that the last fic in the series is unfinished, but if you just read the first two (the story of how they met + a cute oneshot) there's still a satisfying conclusion.)

"You Can Only Know My Name" by hayleyreads is spectacular. Charles and Erik are both professors at a college -- and none of their students know that they're married to each other. Told from Alex's pov, mainly.

"Serendipity" by humanveil is a great modern au textfic. I'm always trying to hunt down textfics..... they're unfortunately scarce in the cherik fandom....

"just remember that you are standing on a planet that's evolving" by populuxe has some of the best worldbuilding(? i think that's the right term here) I've ever read in a fic. It really feels like an actual book.

"Sleepover" by an orphan_account is really funny. Just a warning, there are no line spaces, which can be kind of difficult to read, BUT it's pretty short. Also, dragneto mentioned.

The series "This Story Sounds Fishy" by Alaceron. Mermaid Charles. Need I say more?

how to successfully report and remove your stolen fic on c.ai:

aka don't use fics for c.ai bots... a story of a c.ai creator who fucked around & found out:

for any other author who gets their shit stolen by ai bots on c.ai this is what you need to do:

create an c.ai account

submit a support ticket

choose DMCA & Counter Notice as the issue

under "additional information" you must provide the following: — a description of your fic that is being infringed (where you published it, date, where you post, under what names, etc) — a description of the bot that is infringing your work (include name of bot, what parts it is infringing and author's name at minimum). — a statement that you are the copyright holder have not authorized use of your property/fic in this manner nor given it to the author of the bot.

you will have to give your contact info including your full legal name, address and telephone number

provide the link to your original work (where you published it first) and the link to the bot.

Attachments (up to 5 allowed): — IMPORTANT: make sure at least one of these attachments is an electronic signature using your full legal name. i used this site to get one for free (i attached both signed and typed). — the other attachments I used to show proof of my fic vs their bot and the exact word for word similarities. and also when they blatantly said they were reuploading the bot on their profile which is likely why c.ai banned the rest of their bots.

extra tips:

if your ticket submission is successful you will get an email with a ticket number.

c.ai is pretty responsive (1-2 business days) so i would give it that long before submitting a new ticket.

you must submit EVERYTHING as I have wrote it or they will ask you to resubmit an entirely new ticket. following up with missing info did not work.

if the bot gets reuploaded you still have to submit an entirely new ticket (make sure to save and reference your old ticket number in new ticket).

...Okay, stay with me on this. I'm having a Thought.

What if! James H. Bond, the infamous 007, gets dosed with love potion!

(No, I don't know how/why there is love potion in his vicinity. But it's the Bondverse. It doesn't have to make sense!)

Let's say some supervillain is trying to dose Bond with love potion to make him fall in love with them/their offspring/their henchperson/ whatever. For purposes of manipulation! The potion is supposed to kick in after a certain period and Bond is supposed to fall in love with whomever he sees first.

But!! Q accidentally foils these plans by being the first person Bond sees, instead of the villain!

And Bond sees Q and he's like, "Ah, there he is, the light of my life, my beloved, the man who is far too good for me, whose very shoes I am not fit to wipe. I adore him. I am going to pester him so much so I can get all his attention for myself ASAP!"

Except. This is Bond's normal thought process when he's around Q. So he notices no difference.

And then, three weeks later, Q-branch finally uncovers the villain's notes and figures out that Bond was dosed with love potion and forced into a sudden and mysterious infatuation with Q! And then everyone is demanding to know why Bond didn't say anything about all these weird feelings he must've suddenly been having!

And Bond is like, "...I didn't say anything because...I was still conducting my own investigation about what had happened? I was playing my cards close to my vest! I didn't want to give any indication that I was compromised until I knew who was to blame! Just spy things!!!"

And most of MI6 (including Q) is like, "Of course! Perfectly legitimate approach. Well done, 007. Carry on with your usual daily business while we figure out an antidote!!"

Except Moneypenny is squinting at Bond like, "...You didn't notice any difference, did you?"

And Bond is just like 🙃🙃🙃

Kara scanned the room: two, four, six, seven beds.

Sevens of them. All done up with pillows and over-starched fabric and tiny brochures translated into broken English with a map of local attractions splattered from inch to inch.

When she'd persuaded Lena to live out her dream of a four-week backpacking European holiday, she never expected there to be so many beds. Hostel after hostel with 'private' rooms filled with beds. It was perfectly roomy which was exactly the problem. Kara had daydreamed of a closet-sized room tightly packed with a single double bed, a tiny nightstand and, maybe if they were lucky, a private bathroom.

What she didn't expect was Lena plans-ahead Luthor booking out an entire 'group' of beds at each location.

"It'll give us guaranteed privacy," Lena explained when Kara flushed at the bundle of euros being slipped across the counter city after city.

Because that was the other thing: Kara had just come out. As Supergirl. And for as much as she liked to pretend everything was normal, everything was not normal. They could barely enjoy their plates of cicchetti in Venice without being barraged with onlookers. Their walk through Gaudi's masterpiece was ruined by slack-jawed observers gawking at Kara in civilian clothes. And now, in the city of love itself, Kara's romantic plans of a blanketed dinner in front of the Eiffel Tower was ruined by one nosy teenager with a social media following.

And now they were back, dinner ruined, a half-eaten baguette in one hand and the remaining drags of a perfectly delicious bottom-shelf bottle of red in the other. It was terrible. It was awful. It was not going at all like Kara wanted or planned or hoped.

Still Lena smiled. She knowingly leaned into Kara with each spontaneous combustion of crowds. She squeezed a hand reassuringly and chuckled when the wildest requests were made for autographs and signatures and "can we see the suit?". Tiny reminders of "it's ok, darling," were whispered through a crowd while an adoring smile settled Kara's stewing frustration.

"Everything ok?" Lena asked, one hand disappeared into her overflowing backpack.

"Hm? Oh, yea," Kara replied. A blush crept over her cheeks and a distracted hand scratched at her neck. "Just tired I guess."

"It'll pass. Soon you'll be able to walk down the street and be a nobody just like me," Lena offered with a sympathetic smile. And then there it was; there it came: a quick squeeze of Kara's forearm followed by the light trace of a kiss on Kara's cheek. "Thank you for an amazing day."

And then it was gone as quick as it came with the bathroom door squeaking shut.

And still, there were seven beds.

Seven.

Beds.

Now, what happened next is up for some debate. To the desk clerk, it might have sounded like a robbery. To Lena Luthor, one threshold away, it sounded like Kara was having one of her early-aughts inspired dance sessions. Kara herself would explain she'd seen a black widow. An army of black widows when an amused Lena pressed.

"Not bedbugs?" Lena asked, surveying the damage and stepping over a smoking mattress.

"Uh... coulda-coulda been?" Kara said, flushed and dry-mouthed.

"Mhm, well then we couldn't possibly sleep here tonight-"

"Black widows. It was definitely a fleet of black widows. Not a bedbug in sight actually-"

"A fleet?" Lena pressed, barely containing a grin and dropping her day clothes onto her completely unscathed, pristine backpack.

Kara nodded. She nodded with vigor and superspeed.

"I see," Lena continued, plopping onto the mattress.

How exactly it happened didn't really matter. All that mattered was that, in the span of time it took Lena to brush her teeth and change into soft sweats and Kara's old NCU t-shirt, six beds had been destroyed.

"I guess we'll just have to share, won't we, darling?"

i've seen figure skater sanji and hockey player zoro before. idk if its been explored but i'd love to put it out there:

hockey player sanji (specifically goalie bc he desperately wants to avoid being checked) and then pairs skater zoro.

pairs skater zoro's long time partner has been nami. though many people ship them together a Lot, they just know each other super well. Well enough to try dating and both of them realized they don't swing that way. in fact, it makes them a really good team. they fought long and hard to claim top spots in competitions because they portray a chemistry that's separate from the rest. plus zoro can carry nami like she weighs fucking nothing. so their lifts are so much more dynamic. they even have a whole next to impossible combination that they're trying to get the ISU to name after them officially.

sanji plays for the East Blue Straw Hats in the Grand Line Hockey League – a formidable rookie group that took down lots of big names in the preseason. they want to make it all the way to the postseason playoff finals but always seem to fall short. but theyre so determined. they reignited a lot of old sparks that were no longer there for old fans and brought in new and curious fans. sanji is the starter goalie and a damn good one at that. it makes sense bc goalies are often doing splits on the ice just to make a save. he's perfected the technique that utilizes just his legs to make saves that make the crowd go fuckin insane.

we have the usual "i booked the rink to practice before you did" trope but a little more spice. in actuality, sanji loves watching pairs skating competitions. his favorite pair rn is franky and robin (mostly for robin). and he adamantly does not want to admit to anyone that he watches zoro and nami's routines much more frequently. (and if anyone asks, he always says its bc of nami. its never just bc of nami.) and zoro's besties with luffy so he always watches their matches even if he barely understands the rules. and he definitely does not stare at a certain blond starter goalie most of the match thats fucking ridiculous

one day zoro and sanji are invited to do one of those comparison videos between hockey players and figure skaters. both get to laugh at the other even Attempting to do their sport. zoro frankly looks ridiculous in all of sanji's usual goalie get-up. and sanji couldn't land an euler to save his life. the video producer suggests they try a simple pairs skating routine. sanji is like "oh i couldn't do that–hEY WHAT THE FUCK MOSSHEAD PUT ME DOWN" because zoro lifted sanji and had him sat on his shoulder like it was normal.

zoro smirks, "you might be lighter than nami, actually. wanna be my new partner?"

sanji knees him in the stomach before skating away while blushing so hard he could melt the ice beneath him.

So where did Alpha's rather... intense reaction to being ordered around come from? A quirk in the programming? Was someone that was there when they were finally activated and/or reprogrammed, fixed up and brought to speed about everything that much of an arrogant d-bag it made a lasting impression?

First, the superiority of humans towards him and Beta, and on the other hand, the fact that humans are afraid of losing control, as happened with Biohazard, so they experiment with Alpha and Beta and keep them in a constant state of testing, doing whatever it takes to keep them in line and actually behaving and doing what they are told

Alpha hates power dynamics (ironically, he feels superior to humans in some ways), so he refuses to obey. He knows he's a robot and will never be like humans, so he follows his own rules. And he knows that he is MUCH stronger than humans. This makes him morally grey in the eyes of others, even though Alpha knows the concepts of right and wrong very well. Humans sometimes fear him even more than Biohazard because he seems kind, until he decides not to be anymore

He likes people to be polite, so he is more likely to do what you tell him if he perceives it as a favor and not a command

I'm thinking about keith and how he grew up as a mixed kid but didnt know he was mixed. But there has to be Some things he did that was more galra

So like. As he grew up his hair got a bit of a purple twinge to it (not super noticeable, but definitely there). He gets very slight fangs. I think purring/growling is so fun in concept (but before voltron the last time he purred was probably around shiro. If not that than his dad. Keith growling is more common)

Also i feel like his dad would have taught him some galra shit he learned from krolia and when keith went to school everyone was so confused about some of this little boys interactions

Anyways voltron time now. Pidge and hunk are like "guys. I swear i heard keith purr. This is crazy" and lance is like "yeah? He growls too. This isnt news." Bc he pays so much attention to his rival 24/7

And when keith joins the blade he sees them do the some of the same shit that he did as a little kid and hes like "oh. It was galra traditions. Thats cool"
