I keep finding art XD One of the scenes I immediately saw in my head when I was reading.
***
“There, look at us. Friiiends. Chat settle down I’m not being mean to him anymore.” Dream scowls into the fireplace. He quells his frustration over Techno’s conversation with the voices in his head and tries to guess what his chances of successfully escaping are. The odds are not in his favor. He sighs and settles for wriggling one hand free to reclaim his hot cocoa.
“Are you gonna let me go?” he asks between sips.
“Nah. I have an obligation to heal your bruised ego.” Dream gives up. Apparently, he lives here now. This is his life, he’s Technoblade’s teddy bear. Whatever. He goes back to writing.
After a few minutes, Techno puts his chin on his shoulder and sighs.
“M’tired,” he mumbles. “’ve been enchantin’ and fixin’ tools all day.”
“Then take a nap,” Dream tells him.
“Naps are for the weak,” he says. Five minutes later he’s fallen asleep. Dream lets out an exasperated laugh. He’s actually being used as a teddy bear right now. He should probably be less okay with this.
After months of solitude, sometimes the simple joy of company leaves him breathless. Dream takes in Technoblade’s sleeping face and reminds himself to breathe through the pangs of fondness.

I feel like I desperately need to talk about the Minecraft Movie right now. Here are my points.
I was absolutely astonished to see the overworld at that first glance until the live action humans appeared which kinda sucked the hopes and dreams right out of me.
WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT SHEEP!?!? I mean, I see everyone hating on the CGI work but to be honest it's still much better than it was like 20 years ago. It's not as bad as ugly sonic at least but still.
One thing that deeply concerns me are the villagers. Are they gonna be blocky or live action? Can they speak English or just say 'Hrmm' for everything?? The only thing that can make the villagers likeable for me is if they were all voiced by the guy who voices them on Element Animation.
What did that guy craft and how????? All I saw was a scrambled mess of iron and cobblestone and it turned into two bucket attached with a chain!? THATS NOT HOW CRAFTING WORKS!!!
I honestly dig the piglins. They remind me of the bokoblins from Zelda which is cool.
"I... am Steve." *Holds a gun to Jack Black.* NO YOU AINT!!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY POOKIE BEAR!?!?!?!? Seriously, they could have cut his hair and beard shorter or SOMETHING to fix this.
If Technoblade isn't mentioned in this movie, I'm sueing Mojang.
All I want to see is an enderman and an axolotl. I love endermen so much.
Thats about it. I am kinda excited to see it with my friends though.

First Out (Wild Life Spoilers)
Hey guys, I'm still reeling from Wild Life's first permadeath, and it had me thinking.
Mumbo wasn't supposed to be the first out. It was meant to be Scar. The winner of Secret Life was meant to be the first to die.
What lead me to think that?
First, the Secret Keeper wanted Scar to be the villain and in my head, I don't think it was because they wanted Scar to win. Sure, in the life series, it's kill or be killed, but you need alliances to make sure you don't die first. You can't fight an army alone if your name isn't Technoblade. So by making Scar the villain and trying to make everyone hate him, the Secret keeper was trying to get him killed early. Sure, they didn't want him out first since the Canary Curse was still activated, but still they wanted him out early. But that didn't happen. Scar managed to wriggle his way through the other teams so their eyes were on other people and not him.
Now why did they want Scar to be the villain? Because he was a thorn in their side since the first session. He failed his first task and then got Grian, the guy they hate and the ruler of Life series games, to make a loophole so he could get a re-roll, messing up their order of plans and accidentally giving Scar a really easy 'HARD TASK'. (Anyway, that's my headcannon on why Scar's Hard Task was so much easier than any of the other hard tasks we saw later in the season.) Scar used Mumbo's task to bribe him so he looked the other way so Scar could easily complete his task. Scar got Bdubs killed even though he was Green and he found a loophole in their task so there would be two winners in the Chicken game. He distracted the Wither for so long that it made everyone gather up and defeat it and the Warden with the only casualties being Jimmy, Mumbo, Grian trading his life for Scar's, and an accidental death of BigB on Scar's end. Grian cheated to spare Scar's life by allowing him to log off then log back in. And Lizzie managed to break the curse on Jimmy, allowing Jimmy to not go out first. So the Watchers turned their heads to Scar, the watcher's favorite, and decided that the only way to hurt Grian was to hurt Scar. And while their plans work on making Scar the villain, it worked too well. Scar wasn't just going easy and he won. Sure, Grian helped him a bit with bringing Gem and the Scotts' health low, but it was all Scar's skills that got him the title of winner.
Wild Life was meant to be the Watcher's revenge on Scar. After all, they allowed him to be paired up with Jimmy and Lizzie. Scott said it himself that their teaming up would mean they would be out of the series the fastest. And while the Watchers hate Scott, they realize he was right. So to try and restore order, they decide to let Scar have friends and then kill him so fast that he couldn't even be allowed to enjoy it. And session 3 was when the Watchers struck. They were so close to Scar losing his final life thanks to the invisible Snail trap that Martyn used. Martyn, an agent of the Watchers who they had been using for years and who was the winner of Limited Life because of their will. Sure, it meant the Canary Curse would be broken, but they didn't care. Scar would be gone and his team would be in ruins. They were so close too. The snail almost ended Scar's series. But then Grian, who had been avoiding Scar for so long and was trying to deny his feelings towards him, stopped the world and ended the Session early before Scar could die. Grian ended the game early for Scar again, and they weren't happy.
The one guy they wanted dead was now alive all thanks to Grian. It made them extra mad because it meant Scar now had a chance to not only live but thrive. They knew that if they didn't get him with snail now, they wouldn't know when Scar would be out next. And that's what Scar did. Scar not only got back to Green by killing Etho and Grian, but he managed to help the Canary regain his lives even after Martyn accidentally killed him with Jimmy's own trap by using Grian's own trap against him. And it was all thanks to Grian.
So the Watchers were glad to hear Grian vow his revenge against Scar and Jimmy, it meant that Grian was now on their side. They were so sure the Canary Curse would continue and Scar would be dead soon. And it at first worked, Grian got Scar on Yellow due to his admin 'Watcher' powers and it seemed like things were going well. But then Scar called out Grian for cheating. For using his Admin/Watcher powers against a player and this snapped Grian out of their trance. For all of Wild life, Grian had been using his Admin/Watcher powers more and more. At first, it was harmless, he knew all the Wild Cards. It would be impossible for the game to happen if Grian did not know the Wild Cards and Grian refused to simply just watch the games like the Watchers originally planned. But then Grian began using his Admin/Watcher powers more and more. Threatening to use his powers to ban people and using his powers to have an edge over the other players. He was becoming more and more like the Watchers he hated.
But then Scar called Grian out. Scar, the only one who could get to Grian, saw what Grian was doing, saw that it was unfair to the other players, especially him, and called Grian out for cheating. And it gets to Grian. At first, Grian tries to brush it off as them just being even. After all, Scar did the first underhanded shot by shooting him off the Bridge of the Spanners' headquarters, so it was only fair that Grian got him back. But the more and more he thought about it, the more it bugged him. He tried to ignore it. Try and push it to the back of his mind, but he couldn't. And Grian realizes he made a mistake. That he abused his Watcher powers and was becoming more like them. So to try and make amends, he gives Scar the mace. But of course, it wasn't that simple. Scar didn't care that much about the mace. What he truly, truly wanted was to have Grian back. To end their fighting and to be Best Friends again. To be like Third life again.
And it brings Grian back to his humanity. It made him remember the good memories and that he doesn't have to be like the Watchers. And to hear Scar say 'What happened in Third life?', it softens Grian and they become Allies. Whether or not Scar remembers what happened in Third Life, it doesn't matter since Grian fully believes Scar doesn't remember anything about Third life except for Mr. Bubbles, Pizza and their friendship. (To be honest, I have no idea how genuine Scar was when he asked about what happened in Third Life. On one hand, he sounds like he means it. It doesn't sound like he's lying. But on the other hand, Scar is a master liar, and he remembers the Lilacs and Poppies like it was yesterday. So it's up to interpretation.)
However, Grian still wants to save Mumbo and Skizz. He still wants Jimmy dead, so there was still a chance that at least the Canary Curse could continue. Sure, Jimmy prayed to the Watchers to be spared, but the Watchers don't care, they just used his wishes to make sure Tango wasn't out first.
But... Mumbo didn't want Jimmy to die first. Mumbo wasn't a heartless fellow to a fellow struggling red life and thanks to Scar, Grian allowed Mumbo to spare his life. However, we all know what happened next. Mumbo, not checking if everything was secure, not checking if everything was safe, not seeing the warning signs that the mine was dangerous, saw Gem moving away from Jimmy and trying to get a life back activates the TNT minecart track. And... with one lever left active, Mumbo dies in a firey explosion. Grian, not looking at Mumbo, only hears an explosion as Tango's wind burst thrusting him into the air and saving his life, and is left paralyzed as he sees his friend's burnt corpse. And in the first time in forever, Grian is allowed to grieve. And the world stops and pitied Grian. Grian, who was seen as the source of all the lifer's suffering and a villain who must be slain for all of Wild Life, was pitted and was finally seen for who he was, human. Sure, Grian was close to being like the Watchers. Much closer than he ever had been before. But thanks to Grian protecting Scar in Session 3 and preventing Scar's final death, Grian was saved from himself and the Watchers. It was thanks to Scar and their friendship that saved Grian but at the cost of Mumbo's life.
Mumbo, poor Mumbo, only wanted Grian to look at him like he did to Scar. Mumbo who wanted Grian to love him like he did Scar. Mumbo who wanted Grian to save him like Scar. But it was too late. Mumbo wasn't a fighter and unfortunately, there are some things not even Watchers can protect you from. Only when it was too late, did Grian finally look at Mumbo like he did with Scar. Just like Third life...

living on the edge of the frontier, techno is used to many things wandering onto his land. that includes dream, an outlaw who is looking for some help and a place to hide.
rating: teen & up characters: technoblade, dream tags: western au, tending to injury, blood, alcohol
written for @nekioe for the @rivalsduogiftexchange! i hope you enjoy! <3 <3
The horse’s head hung low to the ground, sniffing the ground but making no move to nibble on the grass that poked out stubbornly from the dirt in sparse clumps. It was a white horse, grey on the nose and lower legs, and it wasn’t Techno’s horse. He stood in the doorway with his tin mug of coffee in hand, staring at the horse. Even at a distance, he could see the foamy sweat around the straps of the saddle if he squinted a bit. He didn’t need to squint to see the drops of blood in the dirt or the splash of red on the saddle blanket.
“Huh,” he said and took a sip of coffee before turning back inside. He set the mug down on the table. His gun and holster hung of the back of the chair and he picked it up. The leather was well worn and supple and buckling around his waist it was second nature. Through the greased paper window, Techno could see the horse, still in the same spot, just as blurry as when he had seen it the first time.
Outside, the sun was coming over the ridge and Techno squinted as he approached the horse from the front. It lifted its head but made no attempt to move away even as he patted its neck. Sweat covered its neck, chest, and flank. The horse had been ridden right to the edge of exhaustion, the sign of either a reckless or desperate rider. Judging by the blood, Techno thought desperate. The blood left a clear trail to his barn but he took the time remove the saddle and bridle from the horse.
“You just stay right here,” said Techno, giving the horse one last pat before following the trail of blood left on the dusty ground.
The barn door had been pulled closed. Blood was smeared on it, a partial hand print that the owner had attempted to wipe away. That struck Techno as odd. They had made no other attempt to hide their presence so why try to clean up the blood on his barn? He put one hand on the hilt of his gun and pulled the door open, letting light pour inside.
A gun was pointed right at Techno’s head.
The hand holding the gun was bloody and shaky and attached to a man, propped up against a bale of hay. His other hand was pressed against his side, holding a rag that likely used to be another color but was now reddish-brown. The lower half of his face was covered by a black bandana with a curved white line embroidered onto it, like a strange smile.
“Seriously, Bawaajigan?” Techno let go of his gun. “You’re gonna break into my barn then point a gun at me?”
An annoyed snort followed by a low wince of pain left the man. He lowered the gun.
“I—I told you, stop calling me that.”
“It’s your name, man, I dunno what to tell you,” Techno said with a grin. He crossed the distance between him and the man in three large steps. He knelt. “Did ya go and get yourself shot again?”
Above the black bandana, the man rolled green eyes. His forehead was shiny with sweat, blond hair sticking to his skin.
“What, sad it wasn’t you? Again?”
“You’re the one who wanted that duel, Dream.”
“Heh. Yeah—Yeah, that’s fair.”
Techno shook his head, grin softening into a knowing smile. The moment he saw the horse, he had thought his day would go something like this.
“Lemme see how bad it is.”
Dream slipped his gun into the holster that was strapped to his leg and finally pulled the black bandana down. Techno could count the number of times he had seen the whole of Dream’s face on one hand. He frowned a little as Dream pulled his hand away from his side. Dark, almost black blood slowly oozed from the tear in his skin.
“It didn’t get anything important,” said Dream.
One of Techno’s eyebrows shot upwards as he pulled a clean handkerchief out of his pocket.
“You sure about that?” he asked, pressing the handkerchief as gently as he could to the bullet hole. Dream drew in a sharp breath, air whistling between his clenched teeth.
“Well, I mean… No, but I don’t think it did.”
The words sounded uncertain and tight. Techno clicked his tongue. He wanted to ask what had happened, who had shot him this time and who was going to come looking for him. It was unlikely that anyone would come here; the last time he had been spotted in public with Dream, he had been twenty paces away. Techno’s hand felt around Dream’s side, looking for the exit wound. There was none.
“Good news,” Techno said as he leaned back on his heels, “you’re right – for once – and it didn’t hit anything important.”
The corner of Dream’s mouth twitched.
“Go to hell,” he said. And then, with the air of someone who already knew the answer, “What’s the bad news?”
“I’m gonna have to dig that bullet out.”
Dream closed his eyes for a moment. The blood had slowed to trickle, his body doing its job to keep him from bleeding to death. It wouldn’t matter if the bullet was left in to shift or break apart and seep lead into his blood.
“Yeah, I thought so.”
His eyes were still closed and Techno took this moment to look him over more closely. Blood had soaked his shirt and the waist of his pants but also near the hem of the opposite side. His knuckles were scrapped and his cheek was puffy and yellow, the sign of a newly forming bruise.
“Alright. Well, I don’t want to go diggin’ it out in my barn so how about I help you inside?”
“Yeah, sure.”
With a deep sigh, Dream finally opened his eyes and began to push himself upright. His hand slipped a little on the loose straw covering the floor of the barn. Techno grabbed his shoulder to steady him before unceremoniously shoving his hands beneath Dream’s armpits and pulling him to his feet. A string of curses were muttered but Techno ignored them, wrapping an arm around Dream and letting him lean against him. The first couple steps, Dream was stubborn, trying to walk without assistance but by the time they had left the barn, he was fully leaning on Techno. He squinted in the sunlight.
“I left—Spirit should be out here, somewhere,” he said.
The horse had wandered a few feet, closer to pasture where Techno’s horses were, and was grazing. He would have to be put up but for now, exhaustion and the fact the other horses had wandered over to the fence to graze closer to the newcomer was working in their favor.
“He’s right there,” said Techno, nodding his head towards the fence. “He’ll be fine. I’m gonna stop you from dyin’ on my land and then I’ll go put him up, alright?”
Dream nodded. His jaw was clenched and his fingers dug into Techno’s arm hard enough to hurt as they climbed the stairs up to the porch. Techno almost made a joke about how he wasn’t going to drop Dream, if that’s what he was worried about, but decided against it.
“Your house sucks,” Dream said as he stepped onto the porch, breathing heavily.
Techno snorted.
“At least I have a house, Dream.”
He used his shoulder to push the door open. The bedroom was straight ahead, the door already open, and Techno steered Dream in that direction. It would mean a change of blankets but he needed a relatively flat surface.
“You’re such a bastard.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know. Lay down,” Techno said.
Dream did what he was told without argument, though he tried to prop himself up on his elbows to watch Techno dig his leather medical bag out of his trunk and only fully laid down when Techno returned and pushed him back down. He grumbled a little then but it seemed to be all he had the energy for. Techno sat on the bed and the mattress creaked.
“Pull your shirt up a little.”
“You better not mess this up,” said Dream, pulling his torn and blood stained shirt up.
The buckle on the leather bag had long since broken and Techno pulled out a few items – clean rags torn into strips, a pair of thin metal tongs, and a bottle of whiskey – and set them on the crate serving as a night stand.
“Pfft, I’ll remind you that you came to me, man.” He uncorked the whiskey. Dream eyed the bottle warily. Carefully, Techno poured some over the wound then wiped away the blood with one of the rags. He glanced up at Dream, face beaded with sweat, and smiled. “Don’t worry, I’ll be careful.”
Lifting his hand, Dream wrapped his fingers around Techno’s wrist, his pale skin in stark contrast to Techno’s brown skin, and squeezed.
“I—I believe you.”
It was earnest and Techno inclined his head towards Dream before picking up the metal tongs. Dream let go of his wrist in favor of balling his fists into the wool blanket as Techno began his work. He found one large chunk of the bullet fairly quickly and discarded it to the side. The other two pieces were harder to find and Techno paused a few times when Dream made a pained sound, reaching out to place his hand over Dream’s for a moment. When he had finally gotten the final fragment out with a bit of twisting and pulling, Techno poured more whiskey over the wound. Dream hissed out a quiet ‘god damn’.
“Anything else I oughta take a look at?” asked Techno, glancing down at the blood on Dream’s leg.
Dream shook his head.
“N-no, I’m fine.” Techno paused in the middle of rinsing his hands off in the basin and cocked an eyebrow. Dream huffed. “It’s nothing I can’t handle, okay? I’m fine.”
Drying his hands off on his pants, Techno pulled out another strip of the makeshift bandage. He slipped a hand behind Dream’s shoulder and guided him up. A pained wince was bit back as Dream glanced at Techno sheepishly.
“I believe you, alright, I believe you,” he said. Without being told, Dream lifted his arms up so that Techno could wrap the bandage around his abdomen a few times, pulling it taut enough to help stop the bleeding but not too tight to be uncomfortable. “D’you want to tell me what happened now?”
The expression on Dream’s face was serious, hurt, and he looked away. There had only been a handful times that Techno had seen Dream’s face but the times he had, the other man had been grinning. The change was disconcerting.
“It was an ambush. I—They’re probably going to come looking for me. I figured, you know, I figured that they wouldn’t look here.”
Techno pat Dream on the knee and then handed him the bottle of whiskey. Now he grinned as he took a swig, face scrunching up as the alcohol burned his nose.
“Well, I’ve never been one to kick an injured and homeless man to the curb,” Techno said, nudging Dream a little with his knee. “You can stay here as long as you need.”
“What—You’re a son of a bitch, Techno.”
Techno’s smile stretched wider.
“That sure is a funny way of sayin’ ‘thank you’, Dream.”
A long, resigned sigh was pulled from Dream.
“Thank you.”

Lets take it from the top
Ao3 mirror here
And here's my part for the @rivalsduogiftexchange! Hi @ameiniateria I had your for the exchange! Your prompts were a lot of fun and this is a mix of your first and third prompt. I hope your enjoy and happy holidays!!
With how far away Dream has made his little vault, Technoblade is beginning to suspect that Dream may actually have a house hidden on the SMP somewhere. He's been trecking for a while, trying to find the place where Dream is supposed to meet Tommy and Tubbo. He managed to shake the general coordinates out of Punz, although he's pretty sure the mercenary didn't buy his reasoning.
That's honestly fine though. He doesn't need Punz to trust him, just to stay out of the way. He already made the mistake of trusting Punz with Dream once. He's not going to do it again.
It takes surprisingly long to get to where Dream's little underground lair is. Longer than he would like. He's racing against the clock here. He doesn't have much longer until Tommy and Tubbo get here. It probably would have been quicker through the nether but he's never been the best at the whole coordinate thing. Phil is better at all that stuff. But soon enough he does actually find it.
He lets out a huff at the moutain in front of him. "Really Dream? You couldn't choose an easier place to hide a secret lair?"
show off he's still homeless till we see a house Does he still cunt as homeless if he lives in a mountain lol cunt EEEE
"You're as much help as usual." Techno complains as he ties up the boat he's been using. He's grown to love the voices that haunt him, but he does wish they were a little more helpful sometimes. Still, he tunes them out as he climbs up. Punz had given him fair specific instructions, once Techno scared them out of him. It helps sometimes to have a bloodthirsty reputation. He's got to get up the mountain and then dig into a wall apparently. That doesn't take long to do, in the grand scheme of things.
He doesn't even need to worry about that, as he gets up to where the supposed meeting place is. Dream is already there, waiting. He's furiously messing someone, mask up and eyes locked onto his com. He hasn't noticed Techno yet, and Techno is happy to use the opportunity to look him over. He's used to the way Dream had looked before, in the prison after Quackity and months of starvation and torture. And the last time he saw him….Techno doesn't want to think about that. Dream looks good now. Healthy. Or healthier. He's not close to the admin now but he can imagine the bags under his eyes.
"Dream." He says, loud enough that Dream can hear him. He watches in amusement as the admin jumps, mask falling into place. He jumps down off the small platform he's been sitting on so they're on the same level.
"Technoblade. You're here."
"I am." Technoblade crosses his arms over his chest, an amused smile on his face. "Punz tell you I was coming?"
Techno can't see his face but he can imagine Dream is frowning at him, trying to figure out what Techno's plan is. Techno tries to keep his face neutral until he speaks.
"What are you doing here?" He finally asks, still at the other end of the hall.
"I wanted to talk to you."
"Why?" Technoblade can imagine Dream squinting at him, green eyes narrowed in suspicion.
Technoblade licks his lips as he thinks up an answer. He will admit, he kind of moved before he had a complete plan. He had wanted to move first, when he realized what had happened. That somehow XD had held up his end of the bargain and now Techno needed to figure out how to keep Dream from fucking up his entire life. It'll be worth it. Anything to avoid that future.
"I have a business proposition for you." He finally says, walking over to the admin. Dream stands his ground, eyes still locked on him. Good.
"A business proposition?"
"Yep." Techno stops in front of him, hands in his pockets. "You give all this up. In return you get Phil and I to help you figure out what's going on."
"Figure what out?"
"Why death is so weird on this server. Why the server god is so interested in the going ons. Maybe even how to stop what's going on with you." Techno hears Dream's sharp inhale as he speaks.
"How do-"
"I have my ways." Techno leans down so he's more eye level with Dream. "So what do you say? This is a one time deal."
Silence hangs in the air for a long moment. Techno can almost feel the gears whirring in his head as Dream tries to figure out if he can be trusted. But Techno knows Dream doesn't have as much time as he wants. The Revival book is eating away at him, bit by bit.
"How do I know I can trust you?" Dream finally asks. "I've still got a whole favor to use."
"I know. And this would wipe the slate clean. Besides, wouldn't you rather have the Blood God and the Angel of Death on your side over Punz?" Techno can't help but sound a little offended at the idea. He, Dream and Phil make a good team. Much better than Punz who can't offer him anything. "If its being safe then we'll keep you safe."
"What about Tommy?"
"Forget him. Tommy is easy enough to distract. Give him his disks and he'll cave." Techno says with a shrug.
Speaking of which, he can hear the two of them making their way up the side of the mountain now. "Dream, listen. I know you want everything to go back to the way it was. But Pandora's? You're not going to figure it out there locked up. We both know that even if you're gone everyone will keep on fighting."
Dream doesn't say anything at first. He doesn't even say anything as Tommy and Tubbo get up to them. He can hear them being surprised behind him, asking Techno what he's doing there. Techno ignore them, watching instead as Dream turns, heading back up to the jukebox.
"You really think that Techno?" He finally asks, pulling one of Tommy's discs from his inventory. He watches as Dream puts it on, Mellohi playing out across the landscape.
"I know so." Techno says, ignore the two behind him making a scene. He watches Dream take a deep breath. He can imagine Dream closing his eyes as he thinks.
"Alright Tech. I'll take that deal." He says, jumping back down to Techno's level. He holds his hand out. "You promise you can do this?"
"Of course." Techno takes his hand, shaking it. "To the start of a wonderful partnership."

AU Idea just for you!
Technoblade is a fae without a Name.
He couldn't say WHY he didn't have a name, only that his Seelie parents took one look at him and scoffed, throwing him aside Nameless and Personless. A wanderer lost without even the most basic of identity.
Maybe they took one look at the compassion in his chest and decided he was weak. Maybe they saw the love and thought him soft. The Seelie have a better reputation than their Unseeloe fellows, but only because a broken toy is no fun. Compassion? Love? Kindness? What use is there in such mortal flaws?
Technoblade is Nameless.
Until an Unseelie fae gives him a name.
Maybe Skeppy thought it would be funny to give the soft Nameless a name. A prank, to see a fae so lacking in cruelty. Or maybe not. Technoblade is a strong name. A little too serious to be the trickster's taste for a joke.
Maybe Skeppy had been around the Unseelie King Badboyhalo, to know that kindness breeds the cruelest wrath. That love begets fury. And that gentleness sharpens steel.
Either way, Technoblade the no longer nameless enters the Unseelie court and the Seelie court regretted it ever since.
There's something sad about this idea that Skeppy's original motivation for naming Techno and taking him into his care was simply because he hoped Techno would wreak havoc on the seelie fae later. Even in this AU, mans can't escape the 'living weapon' allegations. But hey, if he gets a free family out of the deal maybe that's a fair trade ┐( ˘_˘)┌

I've been seeing a lot of post talking about how Philza deals with relationships. An from reading them, I think I came to a realization. That Philza is stagnant in his relationships, not because he does not care. But because he doesn't deal with change very well. Its in line with how he acts he is stuck in his old ways. Prime example; Why learn create when what hes been doing works just fine.
It's part of the immortality, but also just fundamentally how he is-
He expects his relationships to stay the same with no upkeep because why would they need upkeeping. He hasn't changed his mind about anything in the relationship. When Philza says he is loyal he stays that way. He does not move nor bend for anything. So maybe it's unconscious that he believes the relationships he forms would stay that way as well.
Baghera for example, she should know that he always has her back even when he does not say it. Even if he does not allow her to live in his house. She should already know her being around or building next to him is not a crime. He cares and that has not changed.
Tubbo and him are constantly joking. They take nothing serious. So why would he suddenly believe that Tubbo died and would never come back. That's not how things work.
It's when things start to change is when Philza becomes off-kiltered. Philza was very spoiled by his relationship with The Blood God. Technoblade never changed, they lived together and everyday was the same. They had this unspoken deep understanding. An it seems like Philza places a smaller version of that understanding on to other people.
He has been making small changes in himself. Understanding that Tallulah is growing and wants to fight is a big one he has had to wrestle with. Because he believed she would always be someone who needed protecting and he saw nothing wrong with that.
It's the same situation that happening with Chayanne. Someone said Chayanne is an extension of Philza and that is the fundamental truth. Because Chayanne is someone who shares in philzas deep understanding. They don't need to talk to know they are on the same page. But in recent streams it's becoming clear Chayanne is changing.
Again something Philza will have to wreckin with, "what do you mean you don't feel strong, what do you mean you feel disconnect from death, why are you suddenly so worried?" Are all things I think Philza has or will think about. You can tell it's difficult when it takes him longer to speak. When they were sitting on the dock, he hand ways it by saying one day you will get power that will take us all a back. He even says what do you mean? You are part of this family, the death family.
It's just something so fascinating because the only way to break this idea is for someone else to notice. Because Philza is stuck in his way and feels no need to change. So it will take an external force to make him realize he must actively reassure others.

okay well that gave me a c!emduo drabble idea of like c!phil having recently moved to the arctic but his injuries from the blast are slowing down the moving/building and making it a lot harder to adjust to the cold. Just c!emduo at the early days of living at the cabins together
(context)
/dsmp /rp
When Technoblade seemed focused on splitting wood, Philza limped over to the campfire.
Building Philza's half of the cabin has proven to be difficult work. Not that the building itself was complicated or that the heavy lifting was strenuous, but the arctic itself wasn't the most hospitable building environment. Philza's measuring tape was blown away by the wind at least five times, Techno's axe was hidden under snowfall when he wasn't looking, and their damned fire kept going out.
It was early in the morning, and this new day has thankfully proven to be less windy than the others. Phil was supposed to begin laying down stones for the fireplace when he turned instead to the fire.
"You can't be tired already, old man," Techno smirked over his shoulder. He must've thought he was slick, leaving his work when Techno wasn't looking.
His smile faded when he heard Philza wince upon lowering himself to the ground.
"Whoa, whoa," Techno said, "You good?"
"I'm great," Phil replied with no lack of bitterness, his voice tight with pain. Techno dragged a log over by the fire and lifted his partner onto it, giving him a more comfortable seat than the snowy dirt. "Thanks mate, you didn't have to do that."
"What was that? You're not about 'ta pass out on me or anythin', are you?"
"Nah, I'm alright. It's just," Phil's face scrunched as a wave of pain hit him, "this hip of mine. I'll feel better if I sit by the fire a while." He rubbed a hand along his right hip, massaging away a cramp.
Techno hummed in the back of his throat. His own home stood nearby, surrounded by the various materials he's gathered in the hopes that his friend would join him here. He's been dreaming of this for what felt like decades-- any short period of time away from Phil felt like ages, and he could minimize that time. But...
"Suddenly this isn't feelin' like all that great of an idea, huh?"
"Hm?"
"Why am I makin' you live in the literal arctic when the cold hurts you so bad, man? Maybe we gotta look at other places?"
"I--" Phil looked up at him with surprise. "No, Techno. No. This is your home."
"I want it to be your home--"
"I love it here."
Taken aback by his sudden sincerity, Techno searched Phil's face for any sign of hesitancy. He saw, instead, a pair of warm blue eyes and a nose made rosy from the cold. He saw snowflakes falling magically around his friend, settling sometimes on his shoulders and hair.
"I love it here," Phil repeated. "This will get easier. I have all the time in the world to heal from this, I just--" he smiled, "I just need to sit by the fire for a while, is all."
Techno sighed. There was no arguing with Philza Minecraft when he had his heart set on something. "Okay," he allowed, "but if you're gonna change your mind, you better do it before I finish diggin' the basement out."
Phil chuckled. Techno worked harder than ever to ensure that he had a nicer fireplace to sit at.

i don't think we talk about what an absolute BANGER of a line Techno dropped on Quackity before their fight, post-execution
imagine: you're Quackity. you've been through fucking hell. you fought tooth and nail to get this country, traded sides as many times as you needed to, all to end up on the winning side. you finally are a part of L'Manburg, the real L'Manburg, a country of people and love and loyalty.
and there's a dark cloud hanging over your heads, one that cups wither skeletons in its hands and echoes with laughter and the sound of TNT. Technoblade is out there, and could come back at any second to ruin everything you've built. you fought for this, you've schemed for this-- hell, Tommy got exiled to protect this place.
so you decide to be proactive. you put together the Butcher's Army, you prepare for a fight and to kill a man because you'll do anything for this country. you push your young, stressed president into a bloodthirsty plan. you harass Philza, the grief-stricken father of your old rival and fallen president, and rob him, lock him in his home.
you track down Technoblade. you strike with the force of four men in full netherite, and you're losing. you get desperate, you threaten the horse that he loves, and it's the only thing that saves your lives. and you did it-- you've captured Technoblade, you've brought him in, and set him under an anvil. months of planning have paid off, and you're finally going to have retribution, the peace of knowing that's one less person out there who wants you and your home in ashes.
except you don't succeed. except a mercenary and the true ruler of the Greater SMP destroy your plans and Technoblade has a Totem of Undying and your execution is now a battle-- a battle you ignore, rushing through the smoke and blades and screams. because you saw Technoblade run.
you rush into the caves after him-- full netherite armor, axe drawn. you're going to end this yourself. this can't have all been for nothing.
and standing against him, declaring your intentions, he laughs, and simply asks:
"Did you really think... you could kill me that easily, Quackity?"
Like all you did, like all those months of planning and hours of scheming, all of your blood, sweat, and tears, weren't the best you could give? like everything you did wasn't with the full intention of ending this decisively? like all your work was nothing more than a rough few hours for him?
and you fight. and you lose. you lose to a man in iron armor and a pickaxe-- a pickaxe he puts through your face.
and nursing your wounds, staring at the ruins of a execution stage, you know he'll be back. and now, you know exactly how futile your efforts to stop him were-- and how much harder you have to try anyway, because there's nothing to do but desperately raise your shields against the falling of the axe, even when it's doomed to strike again

Looking for a specific Technoblade clip–
Does anyone remember when Techno started his livestream asking folks if they could hear him and when he saw people responding in chat he was like "Thank god, I've been talking like I was live for 20 minutes and I thought NO ONE was laughing at my jokes"? I thought I had the video / clip saved, but I'm having some trouble finding it.

Hey y'all, here's some more Emerald Duo character headcanon writing. A bit of a throwback since I haven't done this in a while. For anyone not caught up on my weirdly elaborate headcanons/sorta au, I made up a whole 3000 year timeline for the life of c!Philza, and most of it is sad cuz I'm an angst writer :) You don't need to know much about my headcanons for this tho, just go with the flow. Enjoy.

Like The Spring Thaw
The reign of the Antarctic Empire was a turbulent time, not just for Phil and Techno of course, the political conflicts, scarcity, and relentless environment was a constant onslaught against all the people they ruled over.
Philza and Technoblade's friendship was new, at least by an immortals standards. Techno had been so young when they first met, brought together as allies on the grand battlefields of a war neither of them really cared about. Win? Lose? It didn't matter. Techno was there to try to tame the influence of the blood god hidden deep inside his brain. Phil had been fighting to forget at first, to forget what he's lost, the home, the community, the friends. But nothing builds a bond like fighting for the same cause. Techno gave him something to fight to protect again, after all those years of not having time to take anyone under his wing. So once the war ended the two decided to try to bring peace to a divided world full of conflict.
They had their laughs, taking over the whole world via a bureaucratic loophole, yeah people got pretty pissed at them for that. But something about having a group of people to take care of again helped Phil fix some broken part of himself he left to fester years ago. He was still, and would surely forever be haunted by the memory of his long and winding path in life. The screams of those who had taken shelter in his temple as it was raided became a echo forever reverberating through his head as he slept. But now, instead of nearly being smothered in his sleep by his fellow soldiers, furious at his habit of giving away their position, there was a gentle knock at his door, a friend who's head was filled with much the same noise there to make him a tea and chat away the nightmares.
That castle became home. Sure he was forced to maintain a persona faker then any he'd worn before and the cold and exposed machinery made binding his wings out of the way a must, but they lived a life of plenty. Phil began to enjoy the cold, at home above the layers of ice and frost. Eventually, it became easy to ignore the small and inconvenient plights of his people. Without even knowing it he became the kind of ruler he swore he'd always hate. The apathetic king who saw violent gangs of thieves roaming the countryside as a non-issue. The monarch filled with so much hatred they allowed two armies to needlessly fight for decades. With a uncharacteristic lack of his usual foresight he was among those tyrants now, and so when reports came from the fishermen on the outskirts of the empire that a deadly plague was whipping out every man, woman, and child, the duel emperors brushed it off as yet another mild health issue. Just like the last illness, nothing to worry about.
And in the blink of an eye it was all over. Him and Techno watched in horror over the course of a handful of weeks as the treatments they knew had no effect on this illness. Their advisors locked them away in the castle, hoping to protect them but it only made the helplessness worse. Their doctors, nurses, midwives, wise-folk, and scientists dropped like flies. As they made the decree that all must evacuate the death-cursed city it seemed less were alive to hear it by the minute. All supply lines and social structure broke down, their empire fell to ruin while their backs were turned.
Him and Techno evacuated. Like cowards.
They were hated for a time, scorned for their inability to save their people. But not nearly long enough for Phil. At times he felt the need to remind people, even as generations passed. How could death on such a scale be forgotten? He had truly become what he hated all along, not even brave enough to fight back on others behalf. His lady was his world, but it pained him to know he had become the omen of death that he had been accused of being. Techno didn't speak much anymore, but he knew that similar feelings must be bubbling up for him as well. The two were more similar then they cared to admit.
Soon Techno was on the road again, Phil settled into a cottage all his own, but it was far too lonely. He began to feel better day by day, year by year. He laughed to himself when his crows once filled with wanderlust returned home with stories of the fearsome warrior of the blood god who opposed governments of any kind. It seemed Techno had taken a far more proactive approach to the beliefs he too had felt solidify after their great failure. He hoped the memories didn't haunt his old friend like they did to him. He did nothing with the pain though, no actions of great conviction, which he knew would make it worse in time. But his cruelty had been transformed back into the compassion he had been missing all these years along the way. With it, he felt any remaining pride he had for his days of leadership fade. The days he spent alone filled his old soul with the soft and tender warmth of a hearth fire. It was time to move on, he had sought out those who hated him for long enough. At the very least it was time to unbind his wings. It was time to fly again.

I'm bored and I don't wanna write something so have this rant about the (fictional) men I love and why
Hello people
This is Cherry speaking and today I am presenting top men that I love and why are (most of them) them all serial killers who wear masks and are dead? We'll find out here
1. Brahms Heelshire
Tumblr media
I mean just look at him, skrunkily wall boi who has never showered, the man with a mask that makes him look so fuckable and submissive and he fucking whines?! Ngh, so hot
I need to lick those man titties with all my might and ride him until his legs give out
But unlucky for me he's dead as fuck so yikes, he's not dead in my mind or in my blog
2. Billy Loomis
Tumblr media
Crazy Ghostface boi who can rearrange my guts any time he wants and breed me all he wants mhm mhm
I fucking love Billy because look at him, he's a psychopath but he looks so hot while being it
Who wouldn't love this man??
But again, another one dead, killed by Sydney (fuck you Sydney), but not before leaving his offspring but we won't talk about that now
3. Eddie Munson
Tumblr media
The exception to being a killer because he was framed it's my beautiful boi Eddie <3
I love this boi with all my heart and he can touch it with his dick all he wants <3
I fell in love with him when I saw him on Stranger Things 4 and I haven't since then <3
But my boi was eaten alive by a swarm of feral bats and bleed to death in Dustin's arms but he's still alive in my mind, and Tumblr's mind <3
4. Mark Hoffman
Tumblr media
My crush from Saw since I watched the movies when I was 6
I have always loved older men for some reason so yeah (daddy issues)
He's not a good apprentice from John because he kills people and doesn't give them the chance of survival but I still love him <3
But as all of them, he was tied up on the original room from Saw and left to die there
It's presumed he's dead because people only survive 3 days without food so he's probably dead as fuck like all of them bois in this list
Still, he's still alive for me so he can breed me all he wants <3
5. Ethan Landry
Tumblr media
Another Ghostface crazy boi who died a virgin (not in my mind if you know what I mean)
He was killed in an awful way but he's still hot and submissive and breedable and oh my gosh he's so hot
I am literally obsessed with him and you'll see my latest likes are all Ethan so yeah, fuck me (Ethan) I guess
6. Billy Hargrove
Tumblr media
My asshole of a boyfriend who was too weak in spirit to fight off Vecna and died thanks to it
I love him <3
He's my favorite boi that can hit me and fuck me all he wants until I fry and he won't even stop by then so mmmmmhmmm
But again, ded as fuck lol
7. Hannibal Lecter
Tumblr media
Cannibal daddy can eat me alive whenever he wants, I have excess skin so he can have all he wants mmmm
He's so pretty and sophisticated and so mmmm
I love him and he can eat me all he wants and breed me too
(I don't remember what happened to him if he died of not but yeah)
8. C!Technoblade
Tumblr media
My pig boi who is a genocidal and an anarchist will always live rent free on my mind
(Along with his creator Alex, RIP Techno, we miss you a lot)
But on the DSMP I headcanon he had a lovely wife and two kids who loved him a lot and now they're alone and sad </3
But he's alive in my own AU so it's fine
I love my pig boi
9. Jim Hopper
Tumblr media
I mean look at him, he screams DADDY in all his forms
I love hunks for some reason and he's one of them
He can have me whenever he wants
Only exception to being dead lol
Man titties
But anyways. That's everyone I can name off the top of my head so if you until here have a nice day and I love you <3

I clicked on a video essay about the problems with mcrp by frostbyfreeman, and boy did I regret it, giant rant under the cut
I genuinely think the dream smp as a story and it's failings can only be done by someone who was a fan or at least had some respect for the series. Listening to anyone who doesn't try and talk about it is very...painful, like I'm sorry but the Hamilton homages were really good and fun and helped make sure everyone understood what was going on! I've been listening to the frostbye freeman's video on scripted minecraft videos and i am wincing at the incorrect details and honestly somewhat pompous takes on what counts as a good story.
Wilbur's writing was genuinely good and moving at times, and the smp hadn't hit it's BIG popularity yet when it super was leaning into the hamilton stuff so they still were mostly just goofing around and the scripting was a lot looser. Like he spent the entire opening gassing up the early more obviously scripted stuff as if there wasn't like 30 over a million views yandere simulator knocks via all the yandere highschools, it's the same thing!
By the time the story shifts into Technoblade's allegories the entire genre of the smp has changed from a goofy joke about countries that also tackled things of justice in the background, into a more tense action and espionage story that fits allegories better (which tbf i always thought were a little forced, tommy is not theseus at all really, techno has more in common but thats a whooole other rabbit hole)
Also head writer? Since when was Technoblade a HEAD writer, he wrote the stuff around his own character yes, but everyone else around that was being written by dream quackity and tommy after Wilbur stepped down! It was not or never was his goal to tie all of the dsmp into a cohesive story to my knowledge or according to anything I can find.
While he has some points about people fighting for attention, a lot of the arcs that went nowhere or suddenly pivoted or stopped were for a lot of reasons outside the server's management. While I am sad some things didn't get proper endings, their existences weren't problems or a sign of arrogance, it was people excited to tell their own stories. Some failed, some didn't, that's natural for a collaboration of this size, and while things could have DEFINITELY been organized better 100% its just how its going to go in a project like this that not everything is going to be able to get the attention and streams it needs, people have lives outside the smp and have other things to do or run out of ideas, it happens.
If anything I liked how everyone had their own lore! Everyone had biased versions of events or thoughts and opinions! No one needed to agree on everything because the inherent nature of choosing a streamer is choosing a bias! No one 100% knew the truth, and everyone who saw the same event came out with different interpretations! That's just how things work! Thats not a writing error!
You say none of it made sense but did you actually ask someone who cared about the series about it! People have spent so much time piecing everything together it's actually kind of insulting to flat out state that it makes no sense when so many people could just straight up tell you the entire timeline for their streamer, or of events, or how things led into each other!
God I hate the use of "if everyones the protagonist no one is" like first of all, pretentious as hell. Second of all, the point of the other streamers isn't to just be supporting cast but to ALSO have their own goals and desires, because all characters have goals and desires! While tommy is the quote unquote main character, everyone in the dsmp has clear goals or at least interests that make sense for them to go after! Do you expect badboyhalo and quackity and everyone to just do nothing while tommy's in exile? No! That's stupid and he is ALSO a streamer who needs a story to tell!
It would be completely immersion breaking and so much less real feeling if every single story and every action was just about tommy and if he's not in the area it just stopped until he got back! You can just admit this kind of format isn't for you! Lifesteal isn't "worse" because there isn't one singular main character, that's not how servers work! You pick your favorite and see their pov and how they see events unfold! It's not supposed to be an unbiased telling, it's one person in this world giving their biased and personal accounts! THIS KIND OF CONTENT HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE LIKE 2012 WITH HERMITCRAFT, IT'S NOT NEW!!!
"The dream smp's only lasting legacy besides the amazing countless fanarts is infecting all the wannabe content creators it spawned with a terminal case of main character syndrome." Oh fuck offfff, have you literally talked to anyone in this fandom ever? Songs, animations, cosplay, stories, and CAREERS were launched off the back of the dream smp "and that final folly" say you've never talked to an inniter without saying you've never talked to an inniter.
Genuinely the entire dream smp part of this video is insulting, misinformed, and lazy. Getting key differences wrong and presenting opinion as objective facts. The worst part? You can find every single issue in an old school scripted series. He spends the entire opening talking about the good days when minecraft roleplay was earnest and was well written and had meaning but like?
"its homage" every single yandere highschool series but especially the main og of samgladiator's
"it has too many main characters" mianite
"too many dropped plots" aphmau, just aphmau in general
"the lore is confusing" jurassic craft
in fact, you can sum up ALL OF THAT UNDER THE YOGSCAST
YOU KNOW?
ONE OF THE BIGGEST SOURCES OF THOSE SCRIPTED MINECRAFT EARLY ROLEPLAYS THAT GOT SO HEAVILY PRAISED AT THE START? SHADOW OF ISRAPHEL?
IT HASN'T GOTTEN WORSE AT ALL, EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM LISTED, IS NOT THE DREAM SMPS FAULT, BUT IT HAS BEEN THERE SINCE THE GODDAMN DAWN OF MINECRAFT ROLEPLAY!
Calling all of the dream smp, life steal, all of those smps "crude performance art" is genuinely the most disrespectful thing I've heard I just, how is this video not disliked into oblivion!? You say they've yet to change from genre to it's own medium of art, but that means nothing! That has no meaning! It is the same thing! The medium is just the place the story gets told, it's the lens the story is created with. Writing is a medium! Drawing is a medium! Painting is a medium! Minecraft smp videos are inherently in the medium of the minecraft program!
The utter constant disrespect of the genuine stories and tales people try and tell with minecraft, saying minecrafters have nothing to say, it's cruel! I can find you so many minecraft videos over an hour long that are poignant! I can give you so many stories about minecrafters handling tough themes! To dismiss it ALL as lazy slop is at worst a show of utter pure pretension, and at best a lack of understanding for the genre and a lack of research.
Why are you trying to engage with a minecraft scripted story as a FILM it's NOT A FILM and it is not TRYING TO BE A FILM, it's closer to a tv series! You say people cant be off their cellphones during a film, but you're BINGING something not MEANT to be binged! You are also engaging incorrectly! You would fail to grasp the merit of a podcast because people listen to them while doing other things! Each video he showed of parrot's has MILLIONS of views so clearly, this isnt a universal fact! you just do not like this kind of content! That is okay! It does not mean theres a secret sickness!
Genuinely every word out of this person's mouth makes me want to start biting, he calls the videos entertaining, then DERIDES THEM for not being "actual stories" and that "he needs to sit at the grown up table if he wants to be a story teller" like literally? what the fuck is wrong with this guy? Just because it's not fucking brokeback mountain doesn't make it not a story. A story is just that, a story! You can tell a story in three lines
"Once upon a time there was a dog named spot Spot had a nice nap about chasing squirrels before he woke up Then he went to chase squirrels before taking a nap again"
THAT'S A STORY, that's objectively a story! im being a storyteller! Its not a long story, it's not LITERATURE, but it is in fact. A story. Just because it's not the odyssey doesnt make it not a story! THAT'S HOW STORIES WORK. How can you deride a story taking place in minecraft...for being bound to the rules of minecraft? thats a part of the medium! YOU JUST SAID YOU WANTED IT TO BE IT'S OWN MEDIUM AND YET YOU CONSTANTLY DERIDE EVERYTHING THAT MAKES IT UNIQUE
The lack of self awareness, the lack of care, the lack of understanding why these videos get so many views, it's insidious, it infects every pore of this video. The premise is "i dont like something therefor its bad and im going to ramble about cinema to make me sound smart for saying that" and it's so goddamn blatant that he worked backwards from an inherent bias against a type of medium to condemn it as a whole without taking any real steps to question that bias!
Also the sheer nitpicking against "content creator" vs "storyteller" like i get content creator is an annoying term and everyone hates it, but its literally just shorthand for "makes something for other people to enjoy" like oh my god you don't need to treat it like it's this disgusting plague on the minecraft community. Like you ask why minecraft roleplays have to be scripted smps, and the answer is that some stories want to be told through that lens, while others want to be told through different lenses of what minecraft can be used for. You might as well ask why some people use pens instead of pencil or why people use fantasy instead of sci-fi for all the meaning that question actually has. It's either so benign it has no meaning to ask, or complete apples or oranges!
God, how am I only 30 minutes in. I don't even want to continue. This was only supposed to be me rambling about how the dream smp cannot be understood fully as a story from someone who refuses to engage with it on it's terms, but the sheer audacity of everything this video says is just...disgusting to me and I had to keep commenting on it.
For someone who talks about how important brevity is, this hour long video is full of boring unrelated nonsense that easily could have been cut, false dichotomies being drawn, and far too much time talking about stories you clearly dont want to give even a chance. It's just bad, it's the "why is minecraft boring now" video for minecraft roleplay where it demands it be something its not and never has been, and then throws a fit about it and about people who do like it and holds a nostalgia for something that has the exact same flaws and thus polishes into something Better.
As a story teller myself, as someone who enjoys minecraft roleplays, who has been watching mcrp videos since 2012, it's genuinely disgusting how little respect or care he has for the creators he talks about. As if those creators and all the people who like it are idiots while He is the only one with True Taste that everyone else must go up to meet. It's annoying as hell, and i regret clicking on that video

the period of dream smp narrative progression commonly understood as "season 1" took place between the agreement of w/lbur s//t and tommyinnit's characters cwilbur and ctommy to create a potion selling business together, and the infamous november 16th detonation of l'manberg by the former's hand. w/lbur was known to write treatments for narratively significant livestreams (hereafter known as "lore streams"), documents which outlined the salient events of the evening and gave the participants an idea of what should be accomplished during the events of the day. after the death of cwilbur, in the wake of the aforementioned november 16th explosion, w/lbur s//t declared that he would take a step back from being so hands-on and directorial with the narrative of the dream smp, and left the planning of "season 2" (which at the time had barely begun) up to his coworkers, including dr//mwastaken and technoblade.
however, w/lbur s//t introduced the character of ghostbur in the latter half of november 2020, giving himself an excuse to continue logging on to the dream smp and roleplaying with his friends despite having killed his character off days before. he set this era of roleplay apart from the cwilbur he'd played previously by never actually streaming his own perspective of events. ghostbur was exclusively seen through the eyes of others, which thematically aided the idea that nobody knew the real cwilbur, only the many masks he'd presented to many different people during his lifetime. ghostbur tried and failed to assert himself as a different person to "alivebur", and part of what made that such an unsuccessful endeavour was that we couldn't see ghostbur's pov, so we didn't know if his thought patterns were truly different to cwilbur's.
however, this consistent fact about ghostbur - the fact that we did not see his pov - was negated in january 2021, when we got the first and only ghostbur lore stream. it began shortly after the events of doomsday: ctechno, cphil, and cdream had ravaged l'manberg down to rubble, far far worse than the november 16th explosion, using more withers and tnt duping technology.
w/lbur s//t went live for about half an hour that evening, fully in character as ghostbur. he spoke to cphil and ctommy about the events of the day, angrily chastising cphil for likely allowing friend the sheep to die even though he knew how much it meant to ghostbur, and expressing to ctommy that he no longer wanted to exist in the state he was in, and would rather "alivebur" was revived. it was an outburst of negative emotion that was rarely seen from ghostbur, who characterised himself by his consistent optimism, trust, and insistence on forgetting all of the terrible things his living counterpart had done.
w/lbur s//t would not stream again on the dream smp until the day of the revival lore stream in may, four months later. this means that, in six months of consistent roleplaying as ghostbur on the dream smp, we only saw it live from his perspective once.
in this essay, i argue that w/lbur s//t planned to never stream ghostbur's perspective, but that the concept and execution of the doomsday lore stream left him so angry at the direction that his colleagues were taking with their story-writing that he was spurred to log in specifically so he could yell at philza for writing the character of cphil this way, and i will not be taking criticism on this position,
