Everyone froze as they received the message. *Mumbo Jumbo blew up*

In fact, the whole world seemed to stand still for a moment, blurred and distorted as it's prisoners stood ever still. A few tears welled in Grian's purple eyes, but he was able to ignore them.

"Oh- damn it. Not again-" He muttered bitterly as he looked around at the void covered space he and the other players stood in. His freinds were starting to move again, as if thawing after being frozen, and of course it had to be Solidarity that was the first to see Grian at the center of this sudden eclipse of existence.

"G- Grian..." He exclaimed as if pleading like he had done for many seasons. This time, as the canary crumbled to his knees, Grian could see his gapsing, panicked breathes were results of nothing but pure relief. Oh- I'm sorry. I meant the phoenix crumbled to his knees. There was no need for the canary, when shivering in the familiar yet uncaring cove of Grian's wings was this season's first coal miner.

"Thank you all." Mumbo's voice was nothing but a slowly fading memory of the remaining.

Etho came closer, but stayed only as far as Jimmy had gone, fearing the Watcher's eyes dancing around Grian's figure. "Miss you already." He told the ghostly spirit sorrowfully. He lightly tapped the light green heart embroidered on his vest, and simultaneously a warm glow brightened and dimmed in Mumbo's heart.

Following his example, Scott did the same, dipping his head respectfully as his small green heart warmed thr empty space where Mumbo's had been. Cleo followed after, then Bdubs, and everyone else until all eyes rested on the final person.

Jimmy looked up from the ground, folding his ember encased wings behind him. He stood, and took a few steps forward, though Grian's watcher eyes glared at him. The phoenix pressed his cracking, but intact red heart. "Thank you." He said, his voice cracking. Jimmy couldn't help the overwhelming smile creeping onto his face, contrating so painfully with everyone's settling grief.

Grian closed his outstretched wing, and Mumbo Jumbo was gone. "They hate it when I let you guys say goodbye." His eldritch voices spat pitifully. "They never let you remember it anyway."

-The smoke cleared as the explosion settled. Grian could feel his higher up's eyes burning into him, but he couldn't acknowledge that. The games must go on.

SO I've read Canary's thrill, the first to kill and ALSO got reminded of my fav land of the lustrous panel... PHOENIX JIMMY PHOENIX JIMMY!!

Wait, wait guys, so Mumbo is always out pretty much right after Jimmy, yeah? He's been 2nd out in every season he's played. If Jimmy is the canary, Mumbo his miner. I know I've seen other people say this, right?

There’s symbolism here,

maybe in the way everyone notices Mumbo’s death, a miner without a canary to die for warning, a tragedy.

The watchers cheer and push for more, unlimited in ways they have never been since before the Game. (Maybe even before EVO)

Maybe in the way nobody noticed Lizzie’s death, a missing person, lost in the mountains, missed quietly by one, a personal tragedy sure but nothing like a public death. An accident if anything.

The watchers cradle and claw the stranger they do not know, creating a new face for their canary.

Maybe in the way Everybody knew what Jimmy’s death meant, a decent into madness, a mine collapse as the miners realize there is no way out. Now the players are lost, walking in the dark without a canary’s song to drag them back into the light.

The Watchers embrace their champion with open arms, he was never the Listeners’ he is Theirs, as They are his.

Jimmy watching Mumbo die first

hear me out: because of the canary curse being broken, the wings on Jimmy's back start shedding feathers.

He's shed feathers before, but the sheer quantity of them and the lack of regrowth is the problem. Due to the lack of familiar weight on his back, he starts wearing a backpack with bamboo in it to counter-balance it.

I present to you: the Losers Curse.

Where after dying first, it begins to change you. It's very subtle of course but it only gets worse as things go on.

For lizzie in secret life, her balance gets completely wrecked (sue sympathizes with jimmy). It always feels like shes about to fall over. There's also this weird thing where she just might blend it with the stars at night despite having bright pink hair. If you look to close at the black of eye, you might just find the void.

For mumbo, the smell of cinder and gunpowder cling to him. Sometimes there's this ringing in his ear aswell, so loud he is unable to hear anything else. The best part? He's not the only one that hears the ringing. Anyone close enough will hear it too, listen close enough you will hear an explosion too. It won't hurt you, not really. But it will definitely make you think you're being hurt.

They were supposed to be small buffs for the ones that need it, but it's from the watchers. They wouldn't just give something good without giving you the bad aswell.
