wwx: would be a good driver if he didn't get distracted every 5 minutes and constantly forget where he's supposed to be going (jc swears he does the latter on purpose but doesn't have any proof yet). when he's not distracted hes usually going 5 above the speed limit. has a random playlist for all driving occasions ("why do you have a 'just brunt down walmart and now I'm on the run' playlist?" "why shouldn't i?")

lwj: the example of the perfect driver. will drive the exact speed limit and will refuse to go a single mile over ("lan zhan please we dont have to drive so slow" "its a school zone.the speed limit is 15" "lan zhan the school has been closed for 10 years pls go faster im begging" "no."). mostly plays classical music, podcasts or the rare romance song while driving

xl: decent driver when he gets the opportunity to drive. goes hard on the brakes bc he scared of hitting someone. will let people cut in front of him bc "they might have somewhere important to be". mostly listens to random radio stations for variety

hc: speed demon unless he's with xl. even then he's still a pretty safe driver. carries sticky notes to rate other drivers skills and put them on their car with notes (no one has gotten over a 7). extremely picky about music while driving, if he hates the song you play your banned from ever playing music in his car again. will always listen to music selections from xl

sy/sqq: hates driving with every fiber of being but still got his license. has extreme road rage and has pulled up next to someone to rage abt their driving to their face (spolier he made them cry). will only drive if he actually needs too, this man is a passenger princess. not too picky abt music surprisingly but doesn't like the volume to be too loud

lbh: very good driver. if you piss him off while driving he will either ride way too close to your bumper and follow you for a short time to freak you out or start driving purposefully slow and refuse to let you pass. Music depends on his mood or the events he has going in that day. date nights will be romance and happy songs, dropping sqq off to hangout out with lqg will be heartbreak/when will my love return songs, returning from a business meeting is loud ass rage music

wei wuxian isn’t actually dead, he’s hiding in ghost city!

he accidentally finds out he can use his flute to make hua cheng do things because he is. in fact. also a ghost.

he doesn’t make hua cheng do anything too much at first, just joking around making him dance embarrassingly in public or flip off the wrong people.

and then in walks xie lian. hua cheng is insistent on being the self deprecating clueless lovely idiot we know him as.

wei wuxian decides to take it upon himself to be the #1 wingman ever and speed up the process by getting them together with the power of flute playing!

eventually hua cheng also convinces wei wuxian to return to the land of the living for lan wangji!

wei wuxian: bro he obviously is in love with you! full on flirt with him! stop being so cryptic!

hua cheng: mmhm ok whatever you say… and what about you and that one guy you knew? what was his name? lan-

wei wuxian: *flute noises*

Look I know why the Nie Huaisang and the SQX “they would be besties” headcannon exists but personally I feel like Jiang Cheng and Shi Qingxuan should get together and get blocked and form the “My brother made an insane sacrifice for me without my knowledge and consent and it meant a lot of innocent people got hurt including him and also I still love him but wtf, how am I supposed to feel?” club. Kay's comments: Despite the funny title and summary, the fic itself doesn't belong to the "crack treated seriously" genre and is indeed serious and fluffy. Little A-Ying steals some good at one of Hua Cheng's temples and when he finds out, he decides that he can't leave the child there and brings him home instead. I love me some good Hualian adopt Wei Wuxian stories, so this one is really a treat. Really loved how Hua Cheng teased A-Ying in this story too and Hualian are cute together as well. Excerpt: "That doesn't belong to you,” Hua Cheng said casually as he stepped out into the light, the chains on his black boots jingled crisply as he moved. The owner of the hand flinched. It was attached to a child, malnourished and unbathed. He held the piece of dried fruit he’d swiped to his chest with an iron grip and quickly hunched his shoulders to try and make himself appear smaller. A reflex, an instinct clearly born from past experience. Hua Cheng was intimately familiar with the strategy. He leaned down to get a good look at the kid. Unbound hair covered big intelligent eyes. He was probably adorable underneath all of the muck that came from living on the streets. Hua Cheng assumed if the boy had a good home, he wouldn’t be starving enough to steal old fruit. “Well?” Hua Cheng prompted. “What are you waiting for?” The child tilted his head and gave Hua Cheng a strangely genuine smile. Like it was all he could think to do. It contrasted with the scared glint in his eyes and the white-knuckled clench of his hand. The boy carefully unfurled his fist to offer the fruit to Hua Cheng, putting on a good act of hiding how much he desperately didn’t want to let it go. “Here,” the child’s voice was hoarse when he finally responded. “Sorry.”

Spooky month got me thinking of a WangXian Addam's Family AU

(Feel free to use this prompt and tag me in your stories, or I may write this story, myself, after all my other ones!)

Lan Jingyi has always been considered a strange child. After a very bad argument with his family, he gets lost in the woods where he finds Wen Sizhui, the even weirder boy in his class who claims that he could see ghosts and talk to them. Sizhui leads Jingyi to his house, a giant manor on top of a graveyard, where he meets the family.

His adopted father/mother/other Wei Ying, the family patriarch/matriarch/bitriarch (depending on his/her/their mood for the day) who breeds and raises their garden of carnivorous, venomous, and beautiful plants.

Lan Zhan, their loving husband and Jingyi's estranged and distant uncle, who composes music that makes the house morph and change from the inside, and can have other effects such as changing the weather or putting ghosts to rest.

(And yes, they are as shameless and as in love as Gomez and Morticia. I would love to write them with the vibes of those two)

Sizhui's Aunti Wen Qing, who is a mad scientist and doctor, constantly making potions and inventions when she's not taking care of random cuts and bruises of her family.

Sizhui's zombie-but-not-a-zombie Uncle Wen Ning, who loves being helpful around the house and could casually carry gigantic trees and rocks with his strenth alone. He also loves sitting with the house bunnies.

Chenqing, a disembodied hand that assists Wei Ying in all matters and somehow manages to communicate despite being...a disembodied hand.

Wangji, Lan Zhan's guqin that changes into the form of a quiet yet scarily competent human buttler when Lan Zhan's not composing or playing.

And Bichen and Suibian, the two house bunnies that seemed to never age, and are always found together. Sizhui suspects they have a telepathic connection to his parents, because they act more like spies than pets sometimes.

Jingyi slowly finds his way home in this kooky and kinda spooky family, that loves his loud strangeness and accepts all of who he is.

And if he falls in love with Sizhui along the way? That's a plus.

I am like 99% sure that the post you are looking for is this one , which was the post that I originally made of "I WANT TO WRITE A TMA FIC THIS IS APPROXIMATELY WHAT IT WOULD BE" that then outlined The Whole Idea Beginning To End. so it does cover more than what is published in the fic.

it is........ very interesting to look back on because there are, like.... maybe one-to-three major spoilers still in there but scattered amongst twenty red herrings that have totally changed as my plans for the fic changed / I actually filled out my outline and adjusted bits and pieces or realized that [x] would work better than [y] etc etc etc so like. if you decide to look at it you will probably be able to tell comparing it to The Actual Fic that some serious things have changed already but that just like. fully applies through the end. so it remains a read at your own risk! there is the original conception of the ending in there, that the actual ending has been refined from.

gods I've got about half the remaining stuff actually written it's on my list to sit down and write the rest of it because goddamnit I want my writing to exist in the world not just on my computer but that will happen when it happens
