What are your thoughts on the recent chapter?
This is a pretty vague ask but I’m pretty sure I received it yesterday. If not… oops?
I’m actually so excited for the next—that is, the second to last—chapter as someone who was deeply affected by chapters 391-395 and who just loves Toga Himiko in general, so so much. I’ve really grown to love Ochako’s arc too and I’ve come to trust the process here. I didn’t know about everyone freaking out until after I read 428 officials yesterday, and I’m not worried like that. We’ve been in this type of cliffhanger situation multiple times before.
The news that the end of Himiko’s and Ochako’s fight wasn’t recorded hit me hard, just like it hits Ochako, because the world doesn’t get to know who Himiko really is. There’s nothing Ochako could say on her behalf that would compare to actual footage of her pain, anger, joy, love, sorrow, and sacrifice.
…which is to say, Himiko does not serve as a martyr, a tragic, cautionary example. I’ll remind you that that was what the PLF reporter wanted her to be, and she was controlling and patronizing. Let’s think about this as a choice Horikoshi is making, to discard the only ammunition he had to make Himiko into an example and have it be even remotely compelling and satisfying. Boom, gone. There’s no footage. Why?
On the other hand, this is actually an advantageous turn of events if it turns out Himiko survived, because more calculated actions can be taken to keep her safe. I’m starting to see this as a turning point not necessarily for society as a whole, but for the hero profession and its purpose, wherein under Hawks’ leadership the hero commission could become the exact opposite of what it was. It’s no accident that the first half of this chapter is devoted to showing how the next generation and the public were both ~so inspired~ by class A’s actions in a way that mimics the chain of inspiration that motivated class A to begin with. Only this time, Ochako and Izuku are deeply uncomfortable with it! They don’t want this chain reaction to keep going the same way forever. These people look at them and have no idea what they’re actually going through or what they’ve seen. Future heroes who don’t know the real story. That’s very upsetting. Now they are starting to see firsthand how a pattern of collective forgetting is perpetuated. It won’t change until someone like Himiko is actually saved. No bright future without a place for her in it.
I’m excited because this chapter directly confirms Ochako’s awkward, overly cheerful mask for what it is, as it finally starts to crumble. In hindsight, she’s probably done this a lot in the past as well. It casts her whole character in a new light. She and Himiko are so much alike in this way.
I still have high hopes for this storyline because of how much it resonates with me as a queer allegory. Of course, Himiko is also literally queer, but I mean the symbolic stuff about her quirk and her family’s rejection. As a trans person who spent a long time in the closet convincing everyone around me that I was a normal, happy girl, whose pain and rage only festered and grew stronger, who was perceived as selfish and destructive, who was determined to live for myself but still doubted if I had any future at all… I see Himiko’s story as so perfect, so real, that I can’t imagine it ending poorly. And it doesn’t have shit to do with canonizing that ship, either. I’m not worried.

I've had ten people mention to me that "You have the books" whenever I talk about my disappointment with the Michael(a) change. And I find it so hypocritical because it would be so insensitive if someone adapted a sapphic love story and then decided to change the gender of one of the characters. The very same people crying about "you have the books" "bffr it is just a show it's not that serious" would be throwing hissy fits if the opposite was done. One girl got bullied and made fun of because she had stayed up all night to watch Bridgerton and ended up crying. She was disappointed with how Polin was handled and then was even more shocked with Michaela that she started crying. Like?? Please have some nuance. You can't act like it isn't "serious" but at the same time talk about how important LGBT (and other diversity reps) are important (they are!!). Because if it isn't that serious than it isn't that serious to care about a show not having LGBT characters as a lead? The logic isn't there.
I am angry about Michaela. Just like how I would be FUMING if any of my LGBT ships were altered or messed with. My OTP is literally Nico and Will from Percy Jackson series. If someone decided to make one of them into a girl, I would fucking riot.
It is very simple.
I would have the same reaction for any type of character.
If we change a woman into a man. Or if we change a queer couple into a heterosexual couple.
I would have the same type of reaction if we did this to any franchise with characters that are close to my heart and of whom I already have a precise image formed in my head.
The worst part is that I'm not completely outraged.
Part of me is happy to tell myself that we will have a central queer romance between women in future seasons. It's always cool to see representation when you're a queer person yourself.
But with Bridgerton I don't feel like it was the right place for this type of central romance.
Because there was already a story for Michael and Francesca. Which will surely be very different from the book in the show. While once again, it's literally the best of the lot and for which I hope for a fairly high level of loyalty. But Netflix also decided to go into fanfiction mode for WHWW.
And yes it disappoints me a little. And I'm not ashamed of it.
Who cares if I'm ironically called queerphobic for that / or for hating queer people. Or that tumblr is apparently a gay website, under the pretext that many members of the queer community are there, and therefore it is not the place to make this kind of comment.
I remind that I'm bi and that I love tons of queer romances and that I actively hate queerbaiting. I'm still not over Supercorp to this day by the way...
The fact is that the situation is very simple but many people deliberately do not understand our discontent. We have loved a male character established within a specific story for years and we do not appreciate that all of a sudden, we are deprived of the expensive and bone vision of a Michael Stirling that we have already waited a long time.
Besides, for the most part we would hope that they would not screw up the trio Fran, John and Michael, as they were able to do with Anthony Kate and Edwina (seriously, the madness with Edwina went too far in season 2). Well it looks like it's also on the verge of being destroyed. Fran didn't seem to enjoy her first kiss with John, but she seemed to have an instant crush when Michaela appeared, while Michaela didn't seem to have any particular reaction. And that already goes against all the foundations laid between these three characters... and that annoys me even more.

Ok, upon request my thoughts on Bad Buddy, a good queer romance drama that doesn't get much if any international exposure outside the circle of Thai BL fans. Full spoilers.
after consuming literally dozens of BB videos, the best trailer to the drama imo is actually the talented samyvids' "Just My Type" songvid. Perfectly captures the setup.
youtube
* the hook: 2 boys raised by their feuding families to be rivals end up attending a university that has a childish Jets vs Sharksesque historic rivalry between the science/engineering vs artistic/architecture majors. Despite these 2 barriers, the boys stumble into a secret bromance and then into love. Secondary couple here is f/f, though it's basically just soft girls meet cute then getting together (no conflict).
* Comedic and light-hearted drama that doesn't take itself too seriously, while also swerving into the appropriate amount of angst for its set up.
* This '20-something bros in love' dynamic reminds me vividly of what a lot of SPN J2 RPF and Hockey RPF has tried to capture. The 2 leads feel like your prototypical good natured university bros and falling in love never changes that. Friends AND Lovers is a challenging dynamic to capture imo but Bad Buddy succeeds
* It helps the Bros In Love vibes that the actors look less primped & polished than many other asian BL productions. They seem like guys you could have actually had in your classes in uni.
* If you welcome the drama's tone and just vibe with it, I think it successfully executes 4 popular romance tropes:
- rivals to friends to lovers
- forbidden (hidden) love
- fall first vs fall harder
- golden retriever bounding around paw cleaning cat
* If you are going to sell me on a modern day romeo & juliet esque queer rom-com, without the bloodshed, then you BETTER put your money where you mouth is and make their love actually forbidden.
* Thankfully, Bad Buddy understood the assignment. It's not just a misunderstanding. Their parents truly do have a feud and they truly are forbidden to even be friends, forget a romantic relationship. 2 kids obligated to be enemies since birth, bound by this twisted shared experience that no one else understands.
* Pran falling first, with enough time to comprehend how cruelly impossible they are. Pat falling late, fast, and hard - too impulsive to consider the consequences and wearing his heart on his sleeve.
* Both characters won me over quickly: cautious & restrained Pran who likes order, chaotic Pat who craves his attention
* Love that the dramatic tension & hiding in all the early episodes isn't revealed to be pointless. If there was no consequence, then it removes the poignancy of its classic rooftop kiss scene. Prans' fears must be justified in order for the angst to stand up in a rewatch. Pran's friends DO reject him at first. Their parents DO refuse to accept the relationship, including his mom considering this a personal betrayal.
* Prans' fears are painfully rational and everything he is scared of does have to be confronted. But that also gives romantic weight to his decision to give in to the feelings and accept the consequences.
* In the way that scifi authors will try to explore sociopolitical topics through allusions & metaphor, and that Hunger Games author keeps writing dystopian YA whenever she gets heated about politics, Bad Buddy does a good job imo of using the feuding families setup to address the reality of existing in a homophobic and transphobic society while being queer -- demonstrating it in a way that straight cis people can relate to. And approaching from this angle allows the production to tell that story with a certain emotional distance for queer viewers who have experienced such struggles.
* The bittersweet ending sells me completely on this drama. Closeted but not. Open but not entirely. Accepting that you can't change the world and make all your family & friends & coworkers accept your truth... but refusing to abandon them OR your truth. It's a decision so many queer people have made over the years, in different countries and decades. And it's tinged with hope.
* Let's acknowledge that indeed there is tons of product placement in this series. Sometimes to hilarious ends. But frankly, without this sponsorship the series would not exist. So I'm very grateful to suffer through the marketing that helped fund it.
* Available streaming in multiple places, including YouTube.
#i will go ahead and make a fic and vid rec post later#this is a fandom blessed with a ton of both#bad buddy#thai drama#silvia watches#drama rec

modern au hcs i have about the salt lake crew cuz why not i felt like sharing:
abby's secretly into cosplay but she won't admit it; manny's celebrity crush is sza; nora's a "no shoes in the house person" (she almost stabbed owen when he came over for a group get-together); mel's lowkey a disney adult and its adorable (her fav film is frozen); owen and jordan are both filmbros but in different ways - owen's the annoying kind (yk the kind 🙄) while jordan is genuinely passionate about films and film history and gives fun facts during movie nights; nick makes tiktok stitches like this one https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT88SYgkG/ ; leah's one of those drunk girls who hypes up other girls in bathrooms, like she'll see a pretty black girl with gold charms in her hair and start crying cuz she's so beautiful (abby & nora had to drag her out)
this is one of the cutest asks I've ever gotten oh my god? lemme expand on your beautiful thoughts. while I have beef with the salt lake crew, I also appreciate them and I think, had we started with them, we would have all loved or tolerated them.
abby + cosplay is so full of possibility omg. I imagine it started as an appreciation for cosplayers because she thought it was super cool! and then slowly. she started doing outfits inspired by her favorite characters. and then recreations. and then next thing she knows, she's dragging Manny to comic con to be her lil protector/buddy while she dresses up as Spiderman, or Junker Queen, or Samus. she has literally had craft nights where the crew helps her work on her cosplays. mel is the best at it, helping her form foam armor pieces. owen is passable only because he has experience building and fixing shit (the boat). Jordan is laughably bad any it but he tries <3
manny's celebrity crush is Sza AND Kali Uchis. He genuinely thinks he could pull them and, honestly, maybe he could. but abby loves telling him they're out of his league (they kinda are). he has like, Pete Davidson rizz. if that makes sense.
Nora is 100% a no shoes in the house girl. it's how she was raised! her house is fucking Pristine, man, which is honestly such feat because girly is a busy ass nursing student. and you're right about Owen! shit head wears shoes inside houses WITH CARPET. I will say rn, it's pretty much impossible to not wear shoes inside the house in my place bc we have two dogs, but we have tile so it's not as bad. however with carpet? evil. vile. Owen and his nasty ass nike sneakers tried to step onto Nora's pristine cream carpet and she nearly smacked him with a pair of tongs that had just came out of hot oil. as she should. he learned, and has never tried it again (mostly because Mel reminds him every time)
Disney adult Mel!! I know Disney adults get a lot of hate, but I feel like she'd be really sweet about it. like whenever she wants to go, she offers to pay for the others food and stuff, if they can't, she always brings them little gifts. like pins and stuff, shirts, ears, plushies!! she has a special pair of mickey ears that a frozen themed, Owen got them for her on her birthday <3 (this is me taking my powers as a writer to turn Owen into an actually good partner for Mel and not a piece of shit <3). one time, Mel got Abby to disneybound Gaston and it was so cute!! she has disneybounded as Anna and she looks so cute in it <3
the filmbros. oh god. Owen is 100% the type of guy to love Quentin Tarantino films and think they're the peak of cinema, all the while hating Jennifers Body. Jordan however, king, he loves Jennifer's Body and 100% listened to Leah and Nora spend like three hours talking about the nuances of girlhood and queerness in the movie. Definitely watched and appreciated Barbie with them, even dressed up in all pink! borrowed some of Leah's clothes to do it <3 he loves channels like Dead Meat, because I feel like he especially likes horror movies? will defend the slasher genre with his life, hates torture porn movies. big fan of sleepaway camp!
I don't know much about nick but I can say this is accurate, I feel like he also does those videos reacting to weird white people recipes? like how long does it take for them to add a block of cream cheese to the crock pot, or the weird obviously fetish content ones? and he just makes this really stoic disappointed face like. fr.
drunk girl Leah!! I imagine the salt lake crew occasionally goes clubbing, and you're so fucking right about Leah. they all get kinda tipsy, but Leah takes two shots of vodka and starts falling in love with every fem presenting person in the building. gives the good compliments too. how beautiful they look in the party lights, the shine of their hair, the twinkle of their eyes, the highlighter! the outfit! is literally fawning over every fem person she sees and Jordan is just like yeah go ahead. mostly because he knows she loyal and also, she's literally just so cute. disclaimer that it's never in the like, fetishizing wlw for men, Leah literally just compliments every girl she sees ever. especially in the bathrooms! if she sees you crying, she is the first one at your side, offering to beat up whoever made you sad, holding your hand, helping you fix your makeup, the works. drunk girl Leah is a gem to humanity and there are leagues of girls out there whose nights have been saved by this drunken sweetheart. there have been. too many times where abby has had to physically throw Leah over her shoulder to get her out of the bathroom because they need to Leave and she's starting conversations with everyone who walks through the door.
this is so cute!! thank you for this ask nonnie!! and I got your ask about it being duets and not stitches <3

Hi ! If you’re still taking requests I would have a platonic angst with a happy ending one ? It’s okay if you don’t write this type of fic no worries 😎
For context I have daddy issues and some kind of religious trauma because : queer . SO the moon knight system as some kind of father/older brother figure to a teenage girl with she/her pronouns who they basically took under their wing ? And hear me out , reader is the perfect exemple of younger generation being raised by screens so much that she’s a pretty good hacker , maybe helps them as the guy in the chair , with an attitude as frustrating as Marc’s . Reader wants to come out to the boys first to be herself ? and to avoid Marc or Steven casually mentioning male love interest , the closet sapphic pain . But being raised in a Christian household reader kinda puts every religious person in the same bag and is terribly afraid of rejection . Maybe at some point reader is forced to get out of the closet , big angst but it ends up good . Jake just has the biggest straight guy gaydar ever .
Thank you so much and have a nice day , I love your writing !
Oh my goodness!
First of all, thankyou for reading and liking my stuff, i really really appreciate it!
Unfortunately, I'm not looking to write any long fics atm, but i still wanted to give you some platonic angst to comfort, even if it isn't the big spectacular fic you were expecting 😅. Thankyou for the request 💕.
Warnings/content: angst/venting, mentions of homophobia, mentions of religious trauma, comfort at the end 💕, platonic relationship with the boys.
You'd been sitting on the fence about coming out to your friends for months now. They'd never said anything homophobic, or even remotely horrible that would indicate any sort of hateful beliefs, but after years of mental battering and exhaustion from fighting your father, you'd come to the conclusion that you were safer in the closet.
...........................................................................
As you're sitting on Steven's couch, your leg bounces vigorously, making the floorboards noticeably creak and Marc eventually glance over at you.
He does his usual 'what's up with you?' Glare as he eyes you up and down, before finally bringing over the water you'd asked for and sitting next to you.
"So, what did you wanna talk about?"
God his voice sounds so loud in your ears, echoing around your head like some kind of alarm warning you not to go through with this.
And why'd it have to be Marc fronting anyway? Literally the scariest alter of the three of them.
You audibly gulp, before slowly bringing your eyes up to meet the man's.
"I need to- can you just-" you struggle to get your words out, "I need you to listen to everything before you say anything, please?"
Marc's expression is now oozing with worry, but he simply nods, gesturing for you to start.
A deep breath is drawn into your lungs before you just let everything go, every problem you've ever had in your past all falling from your lips like the tears that eventually start rolling down your cheeks, and once you're done, the flat goes silent, all that can be heard is Marc's slow breathing as he processes the personal information you'd just dumped on him.
In that moment, you're sure he's going to yell at you to get out, or call you the same spiteful names you'd been called before; but the silence is almost worse, it's like he's disappointed, it's completely deafening.
You can't bear the silence for a second longer, so you pull your head from your hands to try and at least get some indicator of sympathy or hate from his face.
Instead what you see is a blank expression.
Your brows furrow for a moment, before you're reminded of when this has happened before; they're switching.
Admittedly, you feel relieved; maybe if he'd started dissociating before you'd started venting they wouldn't have heard you and you could escape the encounter? But a softer voice pulls you away from that safety.
"Oh god, sorry about that." Steven chuckles nervously and seemingly brushes himself off, as if to adjust to the body. "Didn't mean to interrupt your uhm.. moment, but I'm here now, you can continue what you were saying."
His smile is reassuring, and certainly a lot warmer than Marc's, but you still fear what he might say.
"Is Marc mad at me?" You ask, barely audible.
"What? Oh bloody hell no, of course not." Steven waves his hands frantically. "You know what he's like, "Mr Cranky can't deal with emotions so then I gotta come out and do my duty", as it were." He chuckles lightly.
You don't find it as funny.
Steven frowns and chews the inside of his cheek, reaching his hand out and tentatively taking yours. "He's a knobhead, yeah? But he isn't that much of a knobhead.." His eyes scan your face. "Thankyou for telling us, honestly I'm honoured you wanted to tell us of all people," his eyes scrunch into that sweet squint that he does, "you're safe with us, and I'm like… super bloody proud of you. Like, more proud than I was when Gus won that race against Gus Junior."
That actually makes you laugh a little and you sniff, wiping your eyes on your jumper. You squeeze Steven's hand for a second before crashing into his body for a tight hug, which is reciprocated by the man; he's always the best hugger.
You stay curled up in his hold for a few minutes, just listening to the man's breathing to focus on anything else other than the anxiety still thrashing in your stomach.
"Jake said he's proud of you too, by the way." He smiles down at you as you look up at the man.
A smile spreads across your face and you wipe your eyes again, "thankyou, both of you… or three of you." You shrug, unsure if Marc is still there.
"Jake also said that 'he knew all along', apparently."
"Oh shut up Jake." You laugh.

I first want people to note the date of the article and the original post: 2022. Hindsight tells me, studies can only do so much in the face of bigotry; there is a lot of on-the-ground and legal work that must be done (by us queer people, of course, as who else is up to the task).
Yahoo is a fairly mainstream news site. Most of the users and readers are going to be your average, run-of-the-mill person. It’s not mumsnet or any of those forums that disproportionately attract transphobes. However, this Yahoo comment section is overrun by bigots telling us exactly this: it doesn’t matter what a study says, I won’t change my mind.
The comments section is full of people who love Littman’s work; it is full of people who believe in ROGD. (And— of course— none of them stop to consider the misogyny at the foundation of ROGD: the idea that teen girls are very, if not uniquely, susceptible to hysteria.) “Young minds are susceptible to peer influence and internet trends.” They fully believe this study is junk science and that doctors and teachers are out here to “butcher” and “mutilate” and “brainwash” all our children. One user went as far as to compare pediatricians to the Nazi doctors of Auschwitz.
The comments section is split between them and people arguing that parents need to teach their kids “reality” because kids aren’t mature enough to understand themselves, and are easily manipulated (oft by the predatory LGBT adults, as no child would ever think about crushes or their place in this world without an outside influence “filling” their head with sex). They hold that the social pressure to be queer is what’s driving them to suicide and is what’s behind the rise in depression and anxiety among our youth.
The comments section shows a lot of what is wrong with our culture and society. In the commenter’s world, children are not entitled to bodily autonomy and they do not possess personhood or minds capable of reasoning, rationale, or of perceiving themselves. Children do not have rights (someone literally said this). And experts? They’re never to be trusted. They have devious agendas and secret plans to (destroy the Aryan race) queer your children and cripple their bodies. (Lots of ableism baked into these anti-trans arguments.)
There are a couple of comment-types I’d like to highlight for those who have yet to understand how important solidarity is for progress:
The first vein of commenters are those who believe that young girls thinking they’re a lesbian or bi— or that being LGB at all— is a social contagion. These commenters believe that it’s either “just a phase” or influence from adults, because heterosexuality is what’s “normal” (where homosexuality and “transgenderism” are defective, and unnatural).
The second vein of commenters are those who believe this “issue” stems from a weakened patriarchy and a loss of traditional family & religious dynamics and values. Queerness is a result of children not having a firm patriarchal hand or “masculine force” in their life (lots of low T comments). Queerness is an affront to god and people’s usual way of life.
Bonus personal favorite to roll my eyes at:
This is a reminder that these are the “leopards,” and that their political figures’ hack apart communities to weaken a community’s organizing power, often capitalizing on unlearned biases and existing schisms in a community to be successful.
It’s on us to unlearn and combat harmful ideas, from transphobia to lesbophobia to misogyny to white supremacy & racism (there was a fuck ton of racism in those comments, too) so this cannot work. So many of us have yet to fully understand what “community” really means, and it’s going to take a community to leave behind a better world for queer children.
#The commenters all knew their conclusions to be true because the researchers are not conservative…#and let’s say I uncritically accept that premise#why— do you suppose— would those people not universally and foundationaly opposed to human rights *not* be conservative?#Also add in several comments about how back in their day there were not LGBTs#and throw in some anecdotal stories about your cousin’s wife’s friend’s sister’s school and a random relative#that prove neither cause and effect nor widespread evidence of and data supporting their worldview#but there is a general thread that people can publish all the studies they want. & it won’t stop ppl from ‘knowing’ ‘reality’ and…#…from believing as they do.#B/c. as a hate movements. their ideology is not based in facts and data. but feelings like anger and fear of social & hierarchy change#so they reject science in the vain conclusion that they— and their ways— are more correct than any other way of living#one man was in there literally arguing against Evolution

just more complaining from me ✨️
humans are nosy and you don't have to stop anyone from being nosy,
Unless someone is getting all up in *your* buisness, or someone you explicitely know / are close to and you for sure, 100% know they wouldn't be comfortable with a question someone is asking, you have no buisness telling someone "it's none of our buisness" or "it doesn't concern us" and the such.
If I'm asking "is [xyz celebrity] dating [abc celebrity]" or "what is [hij celebrity]'s sexuality", you have no fucking buisness answering with "it's none of our buisness", just ignore my question if you don't personally want to know. I'm not asking to be given a moral, I'm asking because I want to know. And I get how some people asking "is [lmnop celebrity] gay?" May come off as being like "aRe ThEy OnE oF tHeM qUeErS?!", but I can say personaly, as a person part of the LGBT community, I am asking because I am Curious, and I like to find celebrities I can "associate" with, someone who's like me, part of the same community as me, it's like finding out a celebrity you like enjoys the same movie or game as you do, it's fun.
The same way when I say "I think this person is autistic / ADHD / Neurodivergent in any way" I'm not saying "OmG tHeY'rE rEtArDeD, tHeY'rE nOt NoRmAl", I find it cool as fuck to find people that are similar to me. Espetially celebrities, as cliché and cringy as it sounds, finding people like me who are famous is a reminder that "oh, yeah. We can do great things too."
Also, a side note,
Fuck you to every single person that pushes their internalized homophobia down the throats of the kpop community.
You know just as well as me that you're not trying to protect or deffend anyone but your own homophobic ass.
Don't be acting like "we shouldn't be assuming guysss 🥺"
You know just as well as I do that not a single straight person in the history of mankind heard the question "what is your type" be asked to them and answered with "girl or guy?" Because they only have an answer to one because they're only attracted to one.
And also, when two male kpop idols show every sign of being in a relationship together, sing a love song together, joke with their fans that they are, in fact, in a relationship, and dive you every sign that they are in fact in an homosexual relationship together other than explicitly saying "hey! We're gay and together", maybe, just maybe it's because THEY'RE GAY AND TOGETHER. South Korea is not mother fucking Los Angeles. They live in a country where they could literally get beat up still for just saying they're gay, where they could lose their jobs for saying they're gay, as a wise person once said "Not everyone is going to be holland".
So stop trying to act like you're "deffending" them because "we don't actually know" and accept that you're just homophobic as fuck.
And this also applies to female Kpop idols.
Sorry to say but the statistic that only 10% of the earth is LGBT is bullshit because 1. Not every single person has been asked, 2. Some people go their entire life not knowing they're queer, like those people that say being gay is a choice because they don't realise they're queer but felt forced to be in a straight relationship, there are countries where it's still illegal to be LGBT, there are people who are closeted, there are people who are repressed, and so on...
Also... again, sorry to say, but a lot more artists and creatives are LGBT than you think. Some may never state it, but, if you take just the Kpop industry for example, while in certain countries, such as korea and japan, it is normal for men to wear makeup, most straight men won't be interested in learning intricate, bold makeups and wearing women's clothes and high heels and learning how to dance and sign in a high key and appear feminine in any way, very few are the straight men actually okay with appearing feminine, yes there are some. But the vast majority of men okay with appearing feminine/androgynous, to the point a lot of idols do, are queer.
And it may seem like a biased take because I'm openly queer, but I have asked straight and other queer friends, they've mostly all agreed.
Now, I'm obviously saying "all kpop idols are gay", obviously not, but, there is a high chance a high number of them are queer in some way shape or form, the same way a lot of artists and creatives are. Idk what it is about the arts and drawing in the queers, but it just seems to do.
Anyway, my opinions, if ur mad.. idk, just be mad and deal with it ig... we're all entitled to our opinions and if you don't like someone else's... scroll away and go watch content that you like / agree with, or keep surrounding yourself with things you don't like and making yourself miserable, just don't make it my proble, and scroll away from my post, anyway ✨️✨️

venting lolololol. it's a small thing but i wanna get my feelings out somewhere
someone made a playful comment about how the character arc of one of their characters is "finding a trans girl to date and being in a lesbian relationship" and it kinda just made me feel,, hurt
the character in question is someone who my character interacts with a lot, so i couldn't help but feel like "but what about my character? what about all the ways that my character, who is queer and trans, has impacted your character??? has my character not also created an important character arc to your character???"
in a way, it felt like they were unintentionally treating my character as someone whose queer identity is not impactful or meaningful because they are nonbinary/multigender/genderfuck/flux/fluid/etc.. and it also felt dismissive because like.. my character is also a trans girl. but because my character is multigender, ig this person didn't see my character as a "real" trans girl
and it also felt like they were dismissing the impact that the characters had with each other because they are not "romantic" with each other despite having an intimate relationship. im p sure it's amatonormativity that they didn't realise they were perpetuating. like.. they were treating "dating" or "romantic relationships" as a defining moment in someone's life (or in this case, it's a "character arc")
also, there's literally no reason why these two characters can't be considered to be in a "lesbian relationship" ????
which.. idk. it's literally just fictional characters. but i think all of this hurt me because it reminded me of myself and the experiences i've had with my queerness and relationships
a lot of people look at me and will categorise me as something that is "other" than a trans girl or trans boy. and they're not wrong for doing that, because i AM an "other" but i am ALSO a trans girl and a trans boy. im a lot of things at the same time, and it hurts when pieces of me are ignored
and similarly, it hurts when people dont view my relationship with them as something that is "impactful" or "important." like, why is it that "dating" is the only type of relationship that so many people consider to be worthy of keeping track of and counting? or to be considered a milestone in life? are the other relationships not important? why do i have to date you in order for you to consider me someone who has played an important role in your life? why does your character have to date someone in order to have a "character arc"?

Please it's pride month u legally have to tell us ur midnight crew and problem sleuth gay headcanons
ALKFDSJF MAN WHAT tbh i havent been thinking about them that much this much but i will do it for you buddy
edit: ok now that i'm done im actually all jazzed about ps/intermission again so thank you for this ask anon LOL i had a lot of fun getting to ramble on about stuff and have an excuse to neglect work HAHAHA
guess we'll stay topical and go with like gay awakening headcanons or related. just as a general reminder this is assuming theyre all humans since carapacians probably dont have sexualities defined
Problem Sleuth - I like the whole deal where sleuth assumed he was milquetoast straight for most of his life until he met slick and was like uh oh im bisexual arent i! i think he had other close call moments but sort of mental-gymnastics'ed himself into believing it was just admiration for their hardboiledness or like Friendly Comradery fit with all the intricate rituals to touch another man. fighting and arm over each others shoulders while drinking away at the bar sort of thing. falling in love with slick sort of hit him like a truck, injuries and all. he still sometimes grapples with old habits dying hard though. no i will not elaborate :( sorry.
Hysterical Dame - think she knew for forever she was bi, like i think she had a lot of anime ass moments back when she was in school where a lot of girls would fall for her Roguish Charms and outgoing personality and it was relatively easy for her to explore from there. very much the girl knight in shining armor sort of effect from her willingness to get into fights as well.
Pickle Inspector - wow i think he was well aware he was queer from the get-go. he always knew he was weird or whatever because of his grab bag of issues and quirks, so i think him realizing he was attracted to whoever was not really that big of a deal to him. less of a gay awakening more of a gay "oh i accidentally put an extra box of cereal in my shopping cart. ok". i think if he wasn't literally crawling out of his skin with psychosis and anxiety he would enjoy old drag culture a lot. but as it stands now its way too elbow-to-elbow social and young for him to really get into it. and he's much too busy... (excuse)
Nervous Broad - similar to Sleuth surprisingly i think she had a very late sort of deal where she had the classic "wait, you dont act this way when you see cute girl?" moment with her gal pals from uni. HD being very easy to get along with and very direct made it easy for NB to realize she was developing feelings for another woman. i think NB is very much like bi/pan (she doesnt really get or feel strongly about labels) but she has a really strong preference for femmes.
Ace Dick - apologies to ace dick likers who disagree but AD to me is like the Staple Early 1900s Man from the Adverts. he has a lovely wife who he loves so much and a rambunctious boy he plays catch with on the weekends and they sit around the radio to catch the regular mystery hour. he's aware that there's been a few men about town that he'd probably be willing to get to know more personally in another life, but he's fully satisfied with his little city-suburbia Classic Heterosexual Middle Aged Couple dynamic. so basically no salient gay awakening type moments, just in tune with himself to be aware hes probably not classically as straight as people assume him to be. i also like to joke internally that he considered sleuth one of those aforementioned "men about town" before the guy went and opened his mouth, demolishing the thought before it had even finished forming HAHAHA
===
now for the midnight crew...
Spades Slick - very much has lived by the code of living dangerously, down to his partners. usually tends to be drawn to the kind of people who give the impression of someone who would not have many qualms about slitting your throat in the middle of a hookup. scarysexual. think thats why in my head he's had a few on and off moments with droog (even though truthfully, droog is a lazy stringbean of a guy, despite the outward reputation that precedes him). its for sure why he's so drawn to Snowman, even though their dynamic from start to finish has never been anything close to a healthy relationship. but they both feel it works for them, so they keep going. (i think this is why him shacking up with sleuth was such a surprise to everyone that knew him well - sleuth's soft, and worse, he's got a working moral compass. that's not slick's typical mark. but he gives as good as he gets all the same, in both fighting and fucking, so slick doesnt think twice about how he's breaking status quo. and thats how he ends up catching feelings along the way). i got off topic. tldr; slicks never really thought about his sexuality so no real gay awakening moment either. more of a whoops caught feelings moment, since that was rarer and later in life.
Diamonds Droog - WORST case of hetero posturing you'll ever encounter ever in your life. kept a lot of Tasteful Female Nudes on and around him to """""accidentally"""" let slip to ascertain YES he is SO HETEROSEXUAL. there is NO DOUBT that he LOVES WOMEN. in reality he's been painfully aware that he's into men since he was practically a teen and has worked to cover that fact as thoroughly as possible since. i like to think that contributed to how he got so good at lying. and also why he's repressed as all get out fuck and extremely extremely private about his sex life. normal relationships whomst? anyways id like to direct everyone to helen's (@jawbonejoe) catholic guilt portion of the droog headcanon corner because that basically sums up a similar idea LOL
Hearts Boxcars - he's like droog where he had his gay awakening in his teen years but he was normal about it. he's just not as obvious to clock because one of his biggest hobbies is indulging in corny romance novels which are (for the most part) hetero, is passively religious, and happens to be very courteous to women as well which paints him a little as a stereotypical southern gentleman. but no hes very much a big gay man who hopes to settle down someday right proper.
Clubs Deuce - kind of a natural airhead sort of charmer, so has naturally had a lot of people of various gender identities approach him for a date or two early on. he also doesn't see the point of saying no as long as he likes them somewhat, and boy he sure does love people! later he finds out there's nifty names for the kind of people you like to date, and they come with fun colored flags - well ain't that just swell? when he gets later into his crew involvement in his early 30's, he gets less people approaching him right off the bat for intimate socializing, and since he's not really the type to reach out himself, he kind of stagnates for a while dating-wise until he hits his middle years. then he becomes Kind Of A Dilf and gets back into the dating scene. so not so much a gay awakening either.
===
im zooted atm so apologies if anything is confusing or run-on, but that's basically the 411 on my sexuality headcanons for the team and crew respectively. hope u enjoyed anon!! sorry it's long. i didnt get too much into gender stuff because to be honest, my headcanons on their gender journeys are a lot less solidified in my head. i like to go with whatever headcanons the people around me lean into, since i dont feel strongly about them. this is probably because i dont feel a strong attachment to my own gender. like if gender is a spectrum i am a mote of dust that is floating nearby. generally my defaults tend to be that PI and NB are very much genderfluid and nonbinary, slick is trans (if human - i assume that due to the nature of carapacian production, gender doesnt have the same meaning or impact as it does with humans, and therefore gender identity isnt really something that's needed for them. unless specifically they're formed and prototyped into a universe that is heavily impacted by gender, in which case they can understand it conceptually. otherwise theyre out here presenting however they want down to like re-prototyping their bodies to comfort), DMSG is intersex and identifies as a woman (whoops shes not technically team sleuth but i think about here a lot), and sonhearst likes to identify as transmasc (i like to imagine AD and WH sort of being boomers about the lingo but very much being fully supportive and loving parents about it. heart in the right place sort of comedy vibes).
#extremely text heavy Bewarb#problem sleuth#midnight crew#do i have a tag for my headcanons???? i dont usually post them unless its art...#Anonymous

So, I discovered this webcomic only recently when the creators' twitter account ended up on my feed somehow with an advertisement for one of their other projects. I clicked through to their profile and found a link for an upcoming episode of this one and it's quite endearing.
The premise of an anime character becoming real is interesting and reminiscent of a character idea of mine who gets offered one of three types of magic related to stories. One was to bring characters into her world, one was to shift her world to be more like a story, and the third was to embody characters from stories. She opted for the third because it only affected her. ... And realized it was a real thing later when she started embodying a villain she absolutely hated (since it triggered on passion rather than liking). Granted, it was still her filtered through that character so she was still basically a decent person, just behaving in a bit more sinister manner.
Personal point of speculative fiction relatability dealt with, I'm going to move on to the more interesting stuff.
Now, if you were expecting life and death adventure with this, you'll be disappointed. It literally is a slice-of-life comic. There is a leaning toward romance since it revolves heavily around the developing romance between the two leads, but it is a more general slice of life comic regarding life as a queer person.
It deals with issues like what it means to come out or knowing when you're ready to do so. It talks about the fact some people might have a difficulty reaching that step (to be honest, I haven't told most of my family I'm ace despite having come to this realization around 3-4 years ago in my early 40s.) It presents several sexualities, looks at ally-ship, gender identity, and the peer pressure that can come from both straight and queer cultures.
Given the lovely mix of neurodivergence and asexuality I dealt with as a kid in high school in the early to mid 90s and lacking even the vocabulary to be able to discuss or identify this sort of thing, I can recognize a lot of my own confusion and discomfort from the teens through to my forties. I'm very much remembering how I've referred to myself as "broken" several times from my teens to my forties as I tried to understand what was "wrong" with me.
On learning that asexuality and aromantic were things I then didn't consider myself that because, hey, I like shipping people and sometimes read erotic stuff... though usually skipping most of the sex scenes. So even after learning about asexuality in my late 30s, I didn't figure out I was on that spectrum until my 40s (now 46). And it's only recently that I've started to cast off the "I'm broken" part of my thinking and understanding why the handful of failed attempts to ask a girl in high school or woman later out resulted in immense relief when I was turned down.
There's also a lot of other topics going on here as well. One repeat concept is the discrepancy between the image of how you view a person versus the truth of what that person is. It deals with loneliness and suffering in a crowd. I so much identify with Ravyn as someone who has had to put a leash on "rant mode" for most of my life, often unsuccessfully. And I can scarily see my high school self making the same mistakes Ravyn is making with regard to Yuriko and seeing her as a static and simple character.
The comic has also touched a bit on mourning, something I suspect that is the reason why Ravyn latched so hard on to Lady Vengeance. It reminds me a bit of what Mandy Patinkin talks about his motivation for the "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." scene. About how he channeled his anger at the cancer killing his father onto the villain.
If I had any complaints, it would be the reference to The Hero's Journey because I find Campbell's theories increasingly fail the further you get from Ancient Greece and Rome, but I will admit that it is good device in this case to get Yuriko second-guessing herself.
On the Hero concept, btw, I am reminded again I need to write more Divine Blood. I had planned for Mao Semezou or one of her kids give their family opinion on the idea of a hero. IE: A hero isn't a person, it is an idealized image people create out of the stories they hear about a person's acts. As long as you realize that a Hero has it's uses.
I'm looking forward to see where this all goes.
When gritty anime protagonist, Lady Vengeance, is brought to the real world, she’ll learn there's more to life than darkness and revenge…and she'll find love with a kind-hearted cheerleader. (GL, WLW, queer, lgbtq, girl love, girlxgirl, yuri) Reading this will make your day better. #Slice of Life [GL] #webcomic #WEBTOON

some trans Jeff thoughts:
he realized he was trans in elementary school and just went fuck it I'll just start introducing myself as Jeffery and see if anyone decides to stop me (as we know, jeff winger can get away with almost anything)
he got top surgery the second he could afford it (around the same time he started at his law firm), and probably bribed someone to keep it a secret
"I'm jeff winger and i would rather look at myself naked than the women I sleep with" are the words of a man proud of his transition
he's really insecure about his fashion sense, which is why he mostly dresses like the douchey guys at his firm in the start of the show, he thought you can't go wrong with the sleazy lawyer look
he will never admit it but he feels super good about the dean hitting on him, because the dean is a (cis) guy, acknowledging that Jeff is more manly than him
i think he starts out stealth and comes out to everyone one by one, probably starting with abed because he knows abed won't judge him and will probably just see it as an interesting backstory.
abed just says it's cool and maybe worth a prequel exploring Jeff's transition, and jeff asks him to predict how all of the members of the group will react to him coming out.
abed's predictions:
britta will be over-the-top supportive and do a ton of research about trans history, probably put together a slideshow just to prove how progressive she is, and jeff will be a little bit weirded out, but also touched that she did all that for him, though he would never let her know that
shirley will be confused, because she doesn't know how someone she trusts and knows so well could be part of a group she was raised to hate, but ultimately realizes that there's nothing actually against the lgbtq people in the bible, and, as a cool character development arch, starts to advocate against use of the bible to justify bigotry
troy will just think it over and decide that Jeff's physique and coolness are even awesomer knowing how much work he'd had to put in to be like that, and respects Jeff's manliness even more
annie will give him a hug, say something sweet about how she'll always love him, and worry about his health, because even she read somewhere that taking testosterone makes you more likely to have a heart attack, jeff will explain that the risk is still only as high a cis guy, and she'll be the one to always remind him to take his shots
peirce will say at best say "jeff winger used to be a chick?" and at worst call him a slur, either way there's sure to be a lot of misgendering from him, and pestering to know Jeff's deadname (needless to say, Jeff just doesn't tell peirce)
the whole group goes out of their way to keep their beach trips a secret from pierce (the girls don't want him there anyways, he's too liable to be creepy) even though jeff knows that even if pierce saw his scars, all he would have to do is make up a story about some childhood accident and pierce would never question it
sorry this ended up being super long. can I hear some of your headcanons for him?
YES ALL THIS!!! yes yes i’m fully accepting this as canon oh my god
i’m about to type a whole ass ESSAY at midnight because i have been DYING to talk about this for months ajfdksljk,,, this is going to be obscenely long and i might end up adding even more to it as i continue to rewatch the show because there is truly no shortage of trans jeff content (especially when you’re trans and see transness in every little thing ajdkslfkjs)
spoiler warning for literally everything about this show under the cut <3
i 100% agree, i feel like he realized he was trans super young, especially since in the show we see him as a little kid a couple of times.
like look at little jeff with the oversized sweatshirt and little ponytail!! that’s childhood trans fashion. not to be dramatic but part of me thinks that jeff’s dad left before he fully came out to his family (which gives him even more angst about it, because until that one Thanksgiving episode, he’s never able to prove to his dad that he’s a better man), but part of me thinks that his dad left after he came out (which adds that spicy i-should-have-stayed-in-the-closet guilt that he has to work through).
either way, because his dad wasn’t there, he had to base his concept of masculinity on something else, which was becoming a lawyer!! there’s some line that’s like “after the dust and divorce papers were settled the only man i looked up to was [the lawyer guy]”. like, replacing your father figure in your mind with the concept of “a job where you can talk your way in and out of anything and distort other people’s concept of reality”? that’s trans.
and the fucking THANKSGIVING EPISODE... i struggle to watch it without crying hehe <3 yeowch! the dichotomy of willy jr. being the “wrong” kind of man because he’s “too soft” but jeff also not being enough despite adhering to all the social standards of masculinity... fuck!! this whole scene of him telling his dad “i am Not well adjusted” and talking about how he gave himself an “appendix surgery scar” when he was a kid and he still keeps the get-well-soon letters from his classmates under his bed? oh my god. the implication of people loving him not despite his scars but because of them?? trans. i can’t think about this episode for too long or i’ll start yelling.
OH and this scene? where he talks about how his mom got him a girl costume for halloween?? and everyone said “what a cute little girl” and after a few houses he stopped correcting them?? and “once the shame and the fear wore off, i was just glad they thought i was pretty”?? THAT’S TRANS... the man needs validation oh my god... and then in all the halloween episodes we see he has these ultra-masculine costumes (a cowboy, David Beckham, one of the fast and furious guys even though he never watched the movies, a boxer with his DAD’S boxing gloves... god) costumes are about becoming something else and he always chooses to be hypermasculine and that is trans.
THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION EPISODE!!!!!!! being uncomfortable during P.E. is a queer experience. period. but him being specifically uncomfortable in the clothes someone else is assigning to him? trans. “are we gonna talk about clothes like a girl? or use tapered sticks to hit balls around a cushioned mat like a man?” TRANS. and him eventually stripping in public? celebration of transness. and the fact that he eventually becomes comfortable in both the uniform and his own style!! trans!! god i love this episode.
AND AND AND!!! the gay dean coming out episode!!! where it’s the three of them discussing the best way for the dean to come out as gay despite not entirely identifying with that label!! so we have both frankie and the dean who are sort of ambiguously queer, and jeff who’s a stealth trans man who’s probably only out to only the study group at this point. this scene where the dean and jeff have this like eyebrow communication while frankie is talking is just so cute. queer-to-queer communication. “I am so curious” “oh?” “intellectually.” “oh...” ajfdksljfk this scene just screams high school GSA to me and i love it so much.
and SPEAKING of the dean!! i totally see you on that. i feel like jeff has some internalized homophobia/biphobia (like he’d throw punches over someone else, but when it comes to himself he has a lot of shame). and also seeing the dean so confident in all his different outfits/costumes has a weird affect on him bc it’s like “okay, the dean, a cis guy, can do that, but i as a trans guy could Not because that’s Breaking the Rules”. which, like, throwback to the halloween thing. of course there’s no right way to be masculine, but mr. winger does not know that.
another thing!! the episode where their emails get leaked? that includes his emails with his therapist. fuck!! he was outed to the whole world in that episode!! no wonder he was so fucking angry!! this whole episode (and really any time he mentions his therapist) is so interesting when you think about them as a person he talks to about his transition. OH which adds to the thing with the dean!! “and you told your therapist you wanted to be alone this weekend” and “not you jeff, i know you’ll be visiting your dad” ”I told you to stop reading my emails”. luckily his study group has his back and just makes fun of him for emailing astronauts lmao
and WHO can forget “they’re giving out an award for most handsome young man!!!!” what else is there to say about this line besides: he’s trans. you know he didn’t get awarded enough for being a handsome young man when he was a kid, and no amount of compliments when he’s fully-grown can really make up for that. some people crash a kid’s bar mitzvah to cope with the fact that they struggled to be seen as themselves when they were a teenager <3
also his weird relationship with pierce? where he kind of hates him (understandably lmao) but at times has this almost-friends-almost-father-son relationship with him? especially in this episode where he’s forced to bond with him and ends up having a good time by accident (at a barber shop no less, the perfect place to Be A Man with your Man Friend). idk what to say about him besides the fact that pierce says his mom wanted a girl when he was born and made him dress like a girl (and his middle name is anastasia!) so if they’re gonna do any bonding over transness it’s gonna be that.
okay one last thing and then i’ll shut up for the night. this episode kills me (and almost kills jeff hahahahelpi’mcrying). it’s a very Trans thing to not be able to visualize your future self, it just is. growing up trans at the time he did? i don’t know what kind of future he saw for himself, but i’m so happy that he ended up with a group of friends who became his family and love him the way they all do. i’m so emotional over this asshole it’s ridiculous.
in conclusion:
they’re trans, your honor <3
#community#jeff winger#trans jeff winger#GOD i'm gonna make a video essay about it if nobody stops me#yall know that youtube channel AreTheyGay? i want to be that but AreTheyTrans#the videos would just b like... jeff community. neo the matrix. bill and ted bill and ted. audrey little shop of horrors. jo little women.#maybe i should start that youtube channel sjdfklsj#thank you for prompting me to talk about this because i think about it twice a day#i might end up reblogging this and just adding different responses jeff has had to casually homophobic/transphobic things that happen#in the show#like the episode that last photo is from when the dean is like#'spring transfer student dance isn't rolling off the tongue so we're calling it The Tr@nny Dance!' 'much more greendale.'#OH AND ACCIDENTALLY KILLING PIERCE'S DAD!!! HOW DID I NOT MENTION THAT EARLIER SJFKLSJ#'you LITERALLY killed a father!' 'well not MINE dummy!!'#alright i need to do my homework now ajfklsdjfl

My thoughts on Endeavour ep. 3
I really love how Bright is just short and uptight and constantly a little pissed off. Like a big (hah) mood
Why do i feel like Morse is gonna royally fuck something up just bcuz of that monologue
Why is Jakes so pissy all the time are u jealous or sth????
Love how much sass Morse has up his sleeve it’s probably all the self hate and trauma or sth it’s not like i do the same…
Oh god there’s a missile
This family business seems like a dumpster fire and i feel it in my soul
Love how Bright is bragging about meeting the queen and the thing going off without a hitch and then morse sorta smugly just drops ”there’s been a murder🙃”
Bright is way too pissed about it like yeah someone died but take a breath man ik you like solid plans but chiiiillll
Damn Morse really just likes to rub his brains under Bright’s nose
Ok w h y is that worker meeting with the arab prince?? Some important person i forget but why
Morse should just stop talking to women it’s so awkward
Love how Jakes being like get u a girl *hint hint* and Morse is just so confused like that shit never occured to him love that little queer disaster
I feel like Jakes has potential to be a character i like but for now he’s just a bitch for no reason
This annoyed German scientist is a wholeass mood tho
Strange is such a good friend i love him actually
Ugh i hate this beaurocratic arms factory i genuinely couldn’t care less about your business or your disfunctional ass family
Fuck anyone who touched Brenda fuck you
I don’t even know Brenda but SA at work is not ok my brosky
SA anywhere isn’t ok for that matter
Love how nosey Morse is and the fact that it actually helps his investigations
”The union is always threatening action” good, fuck capitalism, unionize
Bright deserves a break too, he’s so responsible and works hard even if he can be a bit of a stickler
But still i want everything for him to be good
I never noticed Morse’s adorable sideburns before but i am now in love with them 🥰
He also looks like a weird mix of David Tennant and Colin Morgan
Also love the subtle ramping up of Morse’s alcoholism, you can just see him having drinks more often than the previous episodes
This post is getting way too long already
You know i really hate that mother, her energy is just so foul… but maybe it’s just my mommy issues speaking.. she reminds me of my mother waaayyy too much
God Morse is just way too awkward around people from his past
Love how Morse’s type is just someone with questionable character and a tragic backstory
That horse is so pretty i’m genuinely so jealous
Ooo damn she’s got some claws i think she’s the only one of the family i don’t despise
Poor Bright, he’s under way too much pressure
Also can i just point out i love how this show frames Morse always slightly to the side and separated to really emphasise how he doesn’t fit in or at least feels he doesn’t
Love the responsible work force manager that stopped the production immediately when there was an accident, still hate the board tho fuck em.
”You deserve more”
”Doubt that”
WHAT’S THAT MORSE?? I CAN’T HEAR YOUR DEPRESSION OVER YOUR SELF-HATE
Damn Thursday’s German is flawless
Also His history shining through the writing so effortlessly like give me that yummy yummy tragic background
Bright please lower your voice my ears can’t take it this late at night 😭
Morse please i beg of you, sort your shit out. This isn’t about anything specific just a general statement about him
God damn these powerful people and covering up the shit they create
There is criminally little interactions between Morse and Strange this episode
Morse literally just got told to sort his shit out before getting in a relationship like that’s what i said too
And he went to the pictures on his own which is just a tiny bit sad but why waste a ticket eh?
Oooo the plot thickens
Awww is Bright warming up to Morse
Then he can have two dads who constantly worry about him
He probably would need at least 3 tho

So I don't take most leaks that seriously...but let's just say IF the roller skating thing is real (it'd be an interesting because it’s a 'rebel robin' st book ref). Before I explain let me explain 1 thing first.
The movie theatre: Robin at the movie theatre talks about the lack of queer rep in film &television. And even disses films where the boy dances with a girl at a dance lol. And than states how "the Hawkins theatre is the site of the most obvious dating rituals". In the rebel robin podcast : gay Mr hauser goes on a secret date with his boyfriend who they call in code his "special friend '. Cough- Mike and Will going on a double date with lumax in s3 ( and it's often -according to Robin's coworker, steve). But jonathan mentions byler went to the movie theatre just the 2 of them in s2,as well. Suspish.
So... in the ST ‘rebel robin’ novel. THE ROLLING SKATING RINK scene is also SOOOOO GAY.
Gay robin is with her friends at a rollerblading rink. She is blindsided on a surprise date with her male friend (who she obviously only sees platonically). As she skates/holds hands with him. She sees 2 girls skating/dancing together and her chest hurts with longing to be wanting that... and thinks there must be some thing wrong with her to want to skate with pretty girls (rather than her male friend milton). Upset over her friends setting her up with her platonic male friend and her ‘confusing’ feelings. She storms off the rink to the food area- and talks to another queer coded girl , who she later dances with at a dance . When the 2 gals start talking, milton comes over and interrupts. And robin snaps at him ( she feels bad)- and she runs away as she literally thinks of Will byers . And she was so upset- she just takes the Rink’s skates with her - and uses them to rush/skate all the way home...
So... yeah roller rinks are gaaaaaay. XD Like movie theatres and byler. So I personally don't think it'd be that m*leven heavy... unless someone tries setting them up again (much to Mike's annoyance) and he gets upset -like Robin did. And than feels bad after-and storms off while thinking of Will. So even if we see m*leven bts of them at the rolling rink- lol i WOULD NOT WORRY! XD
Also let's get real... Mike rollerblading would probably be a disaster. He'd want to get out of the rink as soon as possible anyways. He does not strike me as the coordinated type XD
pages from the ‘Rebel Robin’book- of the skating rink scene...in case ya’ll don’t believe me... XD
(Read left to right/or up to down -pages labeled 1-7 , so you don’t get confused on order of how it should be read.
Before Robin dances with sheena- she even saw 2 boys hidden in a classroom swaying to the music. Robin dancing with Sheena at the end of the novel- symbolized her getting over her fear of being perceived as "weird" . sheena was considered strange, and similar to Will... she had bullies stuff mean notes in her locker. Also, robin before admitting she was gay even says "I don't get crushes". Gee who does that remind ... Will "i’m not going to fall in love " byers.
Also she finally got to dance with a girl (like she longed to at the skating rink)- which was just sooooo cute in the novel .... like so adorable and cute. Not even joking. It was such a great book to flesh out Robin, and as a queer gal (I can say Robin’s arc was relatable and handled realistically).

Your reblog reminded me of the time years ago (2018? 2019?) when I saw someone on twitter say that lancelot/vane was queerbait and I just stared at my screen like that tails meme because I couldn't believe what I was reading
Oh my goddddd
i'm so tired i swear i'm so tired of those things oh my god. oh my gooooood.
I've seen legit Queerbaitings, like, the ones that are from Markettings to the audience fooling us into watching straight shit. It's its own very nasty thing that is different from ship tease and i wish people would understand that.
I especially hate when this framing is attributed to mobage of the type of granblue because it's usually down to the DNA of the game that they're doing that. They usually can't exactly confirm stuff (unless they have to make a big story around it) because they use it also to "tease" self insert shipping with those characters.
They're trying to appeal to demographic that cares about shipping other characters together AND those who ship themselves with the characters in question.
As such i find it especially to be a bad faith critic to call it queerbaiting. Whenever you find this approach tasteful or not, it's mostly a brand of fanservice, but you're expected to know it when you interreact with it.
Queerbaiting is the cast and crew and marketting looking at you directly telling you "don't worry we'll totally give you rep those two chara especially are totally going to be rep for you" and then it never happens. like i'm thinking about the trailer for Riverdale that showed a lesbian kiss without context, so you would be intrigued, and then you watch the episode and you learn they only kissed to try to shock the audience in a staged show, and the person they did it in front of literally calls them out about how "girls kissing isn't as shocking anymore you know". and then the two girls involved in the kiss move on to flirt with guys they end up dating the rest of the show instead. Like. That's textbook Queerbaiting. It doesn't matter that this show has rep, it doesn't matter if ship are teased left and right, it doesn't even matter that they kissed for shock in the episode itself, what matters is that the promo was saying "hey, there's rep for you <3" and then you watch and you realize it's a lie.
There's a subtle line sometimes with just, implied romantic connection toward the show that is then never resolved, which imo, can count or can not count, depends really on context, but even there it gets more blurry (and it also is good to take into account that queerbaiting =/= queercoding from a place where they're not allowed by the studios to go this direction).
but for Mobage i'm really uninterested with any discussion of queerbaiting since imo it feels like people are genuinely refusing to engage with the fact the game is requesting you to interreact differently with its characters than you would watching a TV show. Not all media consumtions come to the same effort.
But also i should mention that the context of the post i reblogged is that people are now using "queerbaiting" to refer to real life people and that's genuinely horrifying, above any fandom petty discussion on it.
This post refers to the fact that the lead actor of Heartstopper, a TV show focusing a gay couple between two teens, was forcefully outed on twitter after people harrassed him for "queerbaiting" everyone by "pretending to be gay on TV while he's likely straight irl" and therefore he's.... baiting people by acting??? somehow???
Even if he was straight this attitude would be unacceptable, but what resulted was that this 19yo was so exhausted by the harassments and bullying he had to come out on twitter.
No real people owe you a coming out. No real people are queerbaiting you. Queerbaiting is a specific media framework you cannot use on people. Real life people don't gain anything by pretending to be queer. People involved in this harassments campaign better be ashamed of their behavior because this is vile.
And in general i'm really annoyed with how specific media analysis/critic framework are being used as means to specifically interreact with real life people while removed from the media analysis context. People are doing the same with Death of the Author which is annoying me to no end but that's another can of worm.
But the Queerbaiting thing is genuinely hurting people and i'm genuinely so angry at those people.
so, yeah, i say it again: i am begging people to learn what words mean. You're just diluting what useful expression mean and make them lose their impact and it is becoming exhausting.
#i also have this problem with the term gaslight so basically: i hate discourses made by people who don't know what they're talking about#god what a headache#i genuinely has no patience left in me anymore for this type of things#ichareply#ichasalty#anonymous

Gender and Sexuality headcannons for Infinity Train passangers and Hazel.
(I’ll make a seperate posts for just the photos but if you want to read about the why behind them, click down below for more)
Tulip Olsen:
Gender wise, I think Tulip is a demigirl. The definition (according to google) is "A gender identity term for someone who was assigned female at birth but does not fully identify with being a woman, socially or mentally." For some reason, while I was doing this--it just felt like Tulip. She identifies as a girl, uses the pronouns and seems happy as one--but she seems like the kind of person to not really fit with other women in a certain way, if that makes sense.
Sexuality wise, I'll be honest. I think Tulip is an aromantic. And I don't just mean because she never had a potential love interest or human friend on the train. Her little road trip song? "No romance, no romance, no romance for me mamma." Plus, check the colors match, I rest my case.
Lake:
Okay this one is easy and I don't even think there will be any arguments or debate about this one. The evidence is all there. Cutting off hair, wearing more masculine/androgynous clothing, wanting to be your own person, changing their name to a NOUN to signify their new life, not wanting to be put into boxes? Lake is a she/her and they/them (mostly the later after escaping the train) non-binary and pansexual. It's just the facts.
Jesse Casay:
For Jesse, I believe that he is trans. Why? Most of book 2 was about Lake's journey to discover who they are and get off the train, but Jesse was still their because of his own lessons he had to learn. He was a people pleaser and never stood up for himself and did what he thought would make people like him more. He also makes his little brother partake in his 'friends' ritual of a 'manhood test' where they shove him down a hill and he breaks his arm--it feels like he was in a way, overcompensating. It seems like he's such a people pleaser and conformist because he doesn't want to give others a chance to dismiss him for who he is.
I also think he is pansexual. No deep meaning--I just honest to god think he truly does like EVERYONE.
Grace Monroe:
Her parents didn't seem like the type to pay attention to their daughter already, and give off 'rich black republican' energy which clues me in on 2 things.
Her parents would not care enough to use Grace's pronouns if she were trans, so I do believe she is cisgender.
Her parents wouldn't even notice that she's a lesbian, and if they did she definitely wasn't allowed to act on those feelings. Probably why she has a hard time interacting with other girls her age and why she sees Simon as just a friend, despite all the tools there for them to have been together.
Simon Laurent:
Look this isn't even me doing the whole 'haha, the bad guy is the cishet, cis-het white men are icky' thing. Literally, name one thing about Simon that could be queer-coded. You could argue he was deep DEEP in the closet I guess--but I just got straight and cisgender vibes from him.
Hazel:
Now stay with me on this one. Stay with me here. This is not because Hazel is a denizen. But I believe Hazel is an intersex child that uses she/her pronouns is aromantic. Hazel is only 6 (or so she says) and it's a bit hard to argue sexuality for someone who's both very young and probably hasn't even had their first crush yet. But gender wise--I think intersex works. Not only does Hazel remind me of Stevonnie (a cannon intersex character) but her whole character is her trying to figure out 'what' she is and how she doesn't completley belong anywhere. She was most comfortable with Tuba, another denizen like her, but even Hazel was 'different' from her and was caught between 2 worlds--and she didn't want to choose. She's just Hazel.
Amelia Hughes:
Super easy here. Amelia gives off bi-wife energy and distinguished bi energy where ever she goes. She just--I can't explain it but she isn't straight for sure. You could argue she leans closer to men because of marrying Alrick but proposing to a man during that time period?? Not the traditional cis-het womanly thing to do. Also--come on. Y'all know. Y'all KNOW.
Min-Gi Park:
Book 4 was just "this is for the mlm" personified. Book 2 was for the trans/enby folk, but book 4 was for the gays. Min-Gi is the personification of 'in the closet but in love with my best friend' to the 9's. The reason he gets off the train is because he finally accepts that he doesn't want to fit the status quo, he wants to be with Ryan and outright says he won't LEAVE the train without Ryan--who was currently still at 202-- while he was at 0. That is the GAYEST shit I ever saw. He's def not out to anyone yet, but he checks off those boxes alright.
Ryan Akagi:
Do I need to explain?? Do I REALLY need to explain? I will. Ryan is a neurodivergent, rocker teen who drives a van across the country in the 80's and wants his childhood best friend to come back and reform their band. He uses the t-shirt said best friend made for him as a headband and keeps it for years after they spilt apart. He has a rockin fashion sense, definitely loves the ladies (he unironically flirted with a cat and had multiple girlfriends) but also is in love with his best friend. Hell--he FITS the red-blue soulmate trope--he is literally a rebel without a cause and doesn't seem to fit anywhere but with his best friend and band partner--
Ladies and Gentleman, Ryan Akagi is a disaster bisexual enby that uses he/him and they/them pronouns, thanks for coming to my fuckin' Ted Talk.
