happy 16th to hatsune miku :))) ive been a vocaloid fan for about almost 4 years now and have to say a lot of songs by various producers have helped me through tough times and also opened me up to so many more music artists that i love

So I wanted to post a gay comic for pride month but when I looked up “gay boomer comic”(and I cannot emphasize enough)the only results were either homophobic or furries(idk what this was about but there was so much furries). Luckily Gary Larson came through. My friend in trying times

One of the things I very much hate about modern AUs in MDZS is how the fic writers Americanise everything about the characters until the only thing Asian about them is their name.

Are. Chinese!#they will be most of the time be speaking mandarin thank you very much#I do hate the Straight boy Wei Ying fic writers make him out to be#come to think of it#this happens in most fandoms#I took a peek in the first few fics in omniscient reader's viewpoint fandom ao3#and what do you know almost all of them have Kim Dojka as an oblivious dumb idiot#like people will really erase all the complex aspects of a character in order to idiotify them for the 'dumb oblivious idiot' trope#and have all of their friends and family be there for the sole purpose to be exasperated with the main characters being oblivious about each#others' feelings#because obviously they know better about these two people feel and their relationship than the characters themselves#not that these can't be done well and asking for relationship advice is nothing out of the ordinary#but when it's like the characters have to be hammered over the head with “he likes you!” like they can't figure that out themselves is..#very annoying#wei wuxian#lan wangji#mxtx

I need a whole fic where the Cerritos is mistaken for the Enterprise by some type of alien with very high intelligence but very poor visual recognition, for whatever reason.
And Freeman either can't or is too scared to convince them that they're not the Enterprise, so she starts desperately assigning everyone to various roles. Boimler gets assigned as Data, and since he and Mariner are the only people on the ship who play string instruments, the captain orders them to put together some sort of "symphony" because the aliens have heard that that's a thing on the Enterprise.
And it's just Mariner and Boimler frustratedly trying to figure out how to combine her electric guitar skills and his traditional violin skills into something suitably "symphonic" (i.e. thematically trying to combine her more lax/modern way of doing things with his more strict/traditional way).

LOVE the Sasha lore here. Not only are her parents divorced, but they both have new, different families of their own. Do you think Sasha ever felt like the leftovers of a past life they had no interest in anymore? Like she doesn't really belong in either family? I think Sasha is the one member of the trio with the most canon evidence for having Family Trauma. I don't think her parents were abusive, but the situation is clearly tragic on her end, if her parents have new spouses and families. If they have new children. How does her stepmother feel about her? How does her stepbrother, son of her mother's boyfriend, feel about her? Is she nothing but a reminder of a previous unloved partner? No wonder she has such distate for the idea of "family". No wonder she underestimates the importance of family in Anne's life.

pulps law is that whenever i get insane enough about something, i will inevitably attempt to make a persona 5 au, regardless of whether or not i am successful at it.
#pulp speaks#anyways guys youre never going to guess what au ive been thinking of lately .#i know the correct way to go about this is make sidestep the main character but you see#i will not be doing that. and actually in fact i will not be following the storyline of persona 5 in the slightest. because lol#but morgana exists in this au purely because i dont think the others would survive without him explaining what the metaverse is 💀#the rangers are a team of detective for the public sector in this au#and dr mortum is an unassuming everyday scientist that should not peak the rangers interest in any way. at all#in the video game that exists in my head the player can pick between playing julia or ricardo#it doesnt change the storyline that much but it does make the character relationships funky so#in my head chen is best friends with julia and argent is best friends with ricardo#chen and ortega stumble into the metaverse together so if you pick julia its two best friends in a life or death situation#but if you pick ricardo its your sisters best friend+kinda your boss in a life or death situation which personally i find extremely funny#regardless of which ortega you play with the other one doesnt know about the metaverse until id say like. the end of the first palace? beca#use thats when they start getting suspicious#and because this is ortega they follow them and find out about the metaverse that way#i dont think they become a phantom thief but i think they do end up covering the others asses irl#dr mortum still isnt actually a doctor but i think theyre the one providing medicine to them at the start of the game#theyre extremely wary of the rangers at the start and ortega can barely convince them to sell them things which they still charge-#-extremely high over. i think the turning point comes when they discover the metaverse because holy fuck they are So excited about it#both because of the implications and what the metaverse could be used For#chen is not thrilled about letting them know this but theyre kind of their supplier so its not like he can argue#i think mortum joins the phantom thieves eventually but as a navi#obviously its in their best interest to provide everything for free now that theyre part of the team but they still have to order supplies-#-so i think the way it works out in game is that theres certain days supplies can be ordered and you have to pay for it but the items can b#-picked up at any day of the week#but also i have no idea how that would work practically (its all in my head anyway so it doesnt actually matter but yk)#theres still more thoughts about this but im ✨running out of tags✨ and also i cannot organize my thoughts enough to explain it#im not main tagging this its going to be my silly self indulgent au for eternity ok

theres nothing i can really say about the miku expo screen situation that hasnt been said a bajillion times over by others (especially since i didnt realize they were going worldwide with this tour until shit went down orz) but it does make me think about the old niconico vocaloid concerts, which if i remember correctly do use screens, but they like. have fun with it: they use multiple screens (the comments scrolling on the side screens LOL), do all kinds of mashups and remixes and arranges and play with inside jokes and live actors and performers like the fucking cult or whatever at the beginning of the 2016 concert or like the MIME? 2015? THE MIME? im still hoping some day on this earth i can experience something as cool as that echo x hibikase performance....

i don't get very personal on this blog because vulnerability is tricky and being vulnerable on the internet is infinitely trickier, and also this is a dan and phil blog, so this obviously hasn't come up but i've been having life realizations that have explained my affinity towards phanfictions that talk about chronic pain. i'm going to link three i like:

flares (and assorted series fics) by huphilpuffs (unfinished but all time favorite)

but also like. dunno. this is a post for another day but... i really do appreciate how candidly dan and phil talk about their physical health. i'm not chronically ill (though that's maybe in question rn) nor do i have the specific experiences they do, but their openness about their physical health-- even if it might be societally "taboo"-- is so important for so many people and i'm realizing rapidly that i'm one of those people it has impacted so much. when i think about it i feel less like... scared, about falling in love someday while carrying all my own bullshit with physical health issues, because i see how the two of them support each other through their experiences.
all of the above fics are alternate universes -- the first and last i believe just refer to unspecified chronic pain (i might be wrong i haven't reread them in the last weeks or so) but the middle one is specifically about fibromalaygia-- but still, i dunno. dan and phil as creators but also fic writers have really affected me in a way that i think is like... going to do a lot of good. okay that's my midnight talk thanks. <3
