People in my country are canceling an american girl because she was complaining about the “horrible sound” of a music box played in Mexico city which is part of our culture and she was calling this noise pollution. People were mad about this, cause one thing about Mexicans (or any country I’m sure) is that we’re very proud of our culture lol

People called her out and she didn’t give a fuck, she was joking around and said she didn’t regret anything about what she said. Someone also found her twitter account and she had a looooot of xenophobic tweets about Mexicans which made people get more angry about the situation.

This is a sensitive topic for us since gentrification is impacting our cities, is making locals to move out of their cities because it’s getting so expensive since our laws suck and there’s no one regulating the prices on everything, thing that is not really affecting to foreigners cause they be gaining in US dollars/euros and our Mexican peso is not as valuable. Another thing that makes us mad is that all this foreigners are always criticizing our culture, they don’t want to learn our language but get mad if people here don’t speak english, among other things that hurt us as locals.

Thankfully she got fired from her agency here in Mexico since she was being xenophobic towards Mexicans and she’s so cancelled at this point 🫠🫠

WHAT I DONT LIKE about this situation is that some people are using this as an excuse to be racists, since she’s a black girl. This makes me really mad cause MY BROTHER IN CHRIST YOU’RE LITERALLY BEING AS DISRESPECTFUL AND HORRIBLE AS HER. Les mines, l'extraction du lithium, les déchets liés aux centrales nucléaires, les grosses usines, la construction, le pétrole, l'agriculture intensive (pollution des sols, consommation exhorbitante d'eau). Les multinationales polluent bien d'avantage que les particuliers et ne subissent aucune mesure écologique pour limiter ces pollutions. Les plus riches, avec les multinationales notamment, sont responsables des plus gros écocides dans le monde: ils détruisent les forêts dont la forêt amazonienne, polluent les rivières, détruisent les fonds marins, imposent des conditions telles aux agriculteurs qu’ils détruisent les terres, qui, à force de produits chimiques, risquent fort de devenir stériles, et maltraitent les animaux. De plus, les produits chimiques comme les pesticides causent l’extinction d’espèces entières d’animaux. Ils devraient être jugés internationalement, et pas selon les lois dont ils décident dans les pays.

Certaines comme l’agriculture ou la construction sont même subventionnées. D’autres reçoivent même la légion d’honneur (par exemple Total).

Mais le gros de la pollution est encore à venir. Les pays en voie de développement veulent des usines, de l’énergie, des voitures et de la viande. Actuellement, les subventions aux énergies fossiles totalisent 5 000 milliards de dollars par an. Cela coûterait deux fois moins de passer aux énergies renouvelables que de maintenir les énergies fossiles. António Guterres, a attaqué l’utilisation des subventions en mai 2024, déclarant : "Ce que nous faisons, c'est utiliser l'argent des contribuables - c'est-à-dire notre argent - pour favoriser les ouragans, étendre les sécheresses, faire fondre les glaciers, blanchir les coraux. tbh video games are a weird exception for me where i can't stand other forms of media having reactionary politics, like i can't look past it to try enjoy it despite the politics, it just ruins the experience for me, but for video games idgaf lol as long as the gameplay is fun i'm good. i mean i did write like 10k words criticising the reactionary politics of life is strange but that's different cause lis is a telltale game and basically just an interactive movie like there's not much gameplay to compensate for the writing and the politics of the writers. normal games are mostly gameplay and you can kinda ignore the writing if you don't like it. not that gameplay is apolitical, obviously the way the gameplay is designed is political too, but ig it's easier for me to ignore it if i can be distracted by the fun-ness of the gameplay? idk. but generally i'll play games with whatever strategy is most successful for the objectives of the game, like if the goal of the game is to make the most profit possible i'll play as a capitalist, if the goal of the game is to conquer all the land i'll play as a coloniser, if the goal of the game is to overthrow the bourgeoisie i'll play as a communist lol. anyway my main source of income in my rimworld games is harvesting and selling prisoners' organs
