Kind Of A Dark Little Idea.
Imagine if injustice Superman never knew Captain Marvel was a child, who was turned into an adult with one word.
So when he lasers him and Captain Marvel dies so does the wizard's magic and he reverts to his true form; that of a child.
So now Superman has to deal with the fact he's killed a child. A line he thought he would never cross. A child he's met before. A boy he interviewed as Clark Kent to bring justice to those being treated poorly in foster care.
An act he can't undo.
(Late-night drabble T-T.)

Luthor's Cricket part 4
Previous. Masterpost
If Lex had any hair left, he would have torn it out by now. The kid, Phantom, would not hide any commentary of his life. He could barely have a conversation with the other members of the Legion of Doom or the board of directors without some scolding remark or mocking of how unoriginal villains are.
“I am just saying, ‘Legion of Doom’? The only thing worse is something like the ‘Injustice League’!”
“ENOUGH! Unless you have useful information, you can show yourself out of my office, or more preferably, out of my life.” Lex hissed through his teeth.
Phantom stared at Lex then huffed, eyes glowing ominously. “Unfortunately for you Mr. Luthor, we are bound together, and now I am your own, annoying, Jiminy Cricket.”
“A task you thoughtlessly created, but if you are so inclined, then help me by getting out of my office.” Lex growled.
The teen scoffed and slipped through the door.
Unfortunately for Lex, the kid got bored rather quickly. It only took an hour before the menace was back to bother him.
“So fun fact of the day, fruitloop. I can only seem to get about 5 blocks away before I slam into a wall. Which sucks, cause there is a movie theater within eyesight of the wall and they are showing both a Dead Alive remake and a Hubble Telescope Documentary!” Phantom whined.
“Could you, like, buy the buildings across the way so I can watch movies while you do your ‘evil mastermind’ shtick?”
Lex swore his sigh contained the rest of his will to live in it.
“It is not ‘evil mastermind’ things. I am trying to get any magic user to get back to me. It seems like they all ran off after confirming that Mr. Warden was capable.”
“So they Ghosted you?” Phantom smirked.
“Stop that, but yes.” Lex sighed again.
“Did you at least say ‘please’ in your requests? That usually helps.”
Lex groaned into his hands.
Next
So, @halfagone inspired the version of Lex that I am writing, as well as Mercy and Lena Luthor. I wish them well on the maintenance of Lex Luthor's ascent from supervillainy to fatherhood, and definitely go read their other stuff.

Does Captain Marvel have any actually weaknesses? Like, deadly ones?
(I’m talking about when he’s written properly btw, this guy should not be weaker than superman)
Like, I know he can be affected by other magic and there’s that weird magical rock thing that can kill Gods. But both of those are kinda hard to come by, God killing rocks aren’t really gonna be left lying about and he’s almost definitely stronger than the average magic user. He can also obviously just say Shazam and get depowered but it’s kinda hard to force someone to speak when you can’t physically hurt them, also no one really knows about that soooo…
The only people I can imagine being able to beat him would be either Gods, or people who have the same powers as him. And most of them people should already be on his side, and in any case, they’re definitely not of yours.
Yeah, Black Adam hates him, but he’s not gonna help someone else take him down for their stupid biased reasons. His own Gods (and the Wizard) are able to take away his powers but they’re not gonna do it on request, like, no.
In Injustice, Billy dies from Superman holding up Captain Marvel, freezing his mouth shut, and lazer beaming him through the face. And like, sure? I guess that makes sense, since they are equal power levels, and it adds plot to the game so I’m not completely. But since when could Captain Marvel get burned? How is his divinely blessed skin able to get melted through? He’s blessed by gods guys, he has magic literally in his fingertips. Maybe he just didn’t want to hurt his friend? Idk, doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me.
Dc and their allergy to making characters stronger than superman

billy batson was a TEN YEAR OLD CHAMPION OF MAGIC hanging out with SUPERMAN, what on Earth could've possibly happened to him? Why would he ever need to fear for anything? What was he even supposed to do, when the League was rebranded a Regime and Kal asked him for his help? How could anything go wrong, when you are part of the JUSTICE league Regime and you are a child and your friends tell you what they're doing is right? your friends, the justice league regime, who have been ingrained into your brain as HEROES. And you are a child, and they are ADULTS. And you're supposed to TRUST adults, and if you ever need something, you're meant to go to the ADULTS. What do you do, Billy Batson? How were you meant to see His hands reaching forward, to grab your throat? How were you supposed to see your Death????

me dropping in random pieces of lore like JK Rowling: actually in eye in the sky the only reason J’onn isn’t around helping Kal control Bruce’s mind via telepathy is because he was forced to use his powers on Bruce (to reveal the location of his bases, children, fall back resources etc) and Bruce, under torture, reversed the telepathic link out of pure desperation and broke J’onn. Made him catatonic, or near to it. Not on purpose, maybe, but through the sheer weight of his horror at revealing those locations to Kal and the Regime. And J’onn, on his way out of Bruce’s mind before becoming catatonic, acquiesced to Bruce’s silent plea and erased the memories with the last of his coherence. So Bruce had a jagged hole in his mind on purpose. And I’m sure it hurts.

The Fandom: Try to force traditional family roles and the nuclear family's format on the found family that is the Batfam. Cannot accept Barbara and Steph as Batfam's members because "they're not Bruce's daughters!". Cannot accept that characters that aren't Bruce's children wear bat symbols (pls have you ever consume any Batman media??? The bat is a symbol, it's not about Bruce!!!) See Damian and Dick having a deep relationship and it must be a father/son relationship!
The source material: Bruce LITERALLY telling Damian that the bats living in the Batcave (and Gotham as a whole?!) aren't his pets, they are his family. His nuclear family got killed in an alley, wild animals are family too now.

DC: How can we show people that this world is BAD and EVIL and the WORST POSSIBLE TIMELINE?
Everyone else: Maybe you could show more desolate landscapes
Everyone else: You should show how corrupt the government is!
Everyone else: Oh, you should have all the good characters be evil and the bad characters be good!
DC: I hear you, I hear you, but we need something better— something FLASHY!
*Billy Batson just ✨existing✨*
DC: …Let’s nuke the kid.

In Duty and Pain ╚◘◘◘◘◘◘◘◘
░░░░░░░░░
Warning: Distress.
One hundred twenty-seven hours, that's how long it took to end the regime...
Fifty-six hours, that's how long it took Batman to devise the plan...
Seventeen hours, that's how long it took Billy to traverse the remains of Metropolis...
Five hours, that's how long Captain Marvel fought hand-to-hand for the fate of the world...
Twenty minutes, that's how long he held his hero while he uttered his last words...
Eighty seconds, that's how long Billy Batson regretted being the champion.
It took eight years for Billy to finally talk about that day.
"So... I was thirteen when it happened. And it was my best secret..."
"Continue."
"No one in the League knew, but I was going to tell him first..."
"Continue."
"And when everything happened... I couldn't tell anyone else... Batman wouldn't have been able to handle the guilt of sending a kid to the front lines... Victor had already disassociated with Brother Eye when they merged their consciousness... And Mary, she..."
His breath caught, and tears flowed freely.
"And she was brave to face Superman... Very brave..."
"Continue."
"And I, I've been thinking... that if none of this had happened, if Metropolis hadn't been destroyed by the Joker, I would have told Superman who I was... I would have introduced him to Mary, we would have gone to the park together... Tawny would have come with us... I know how to give him a feline form... Would Superman have liked tiger cats?"
It was his first time at the Sanctuary... Bruce and Dinah had invited him many times, but he needed some silent time to put his thoughts in order. He needed to do it...
"It's not your fault... Don't carry that weight, Captain..."
"I'll have to carry it... I am the champion... the champion of magic... I am Captain Marvel, I am a member of the Justice League..."
"Don't carry so much..."
"I have to do it... I have to do it... I have to do it..."
Billy's mantra echoed on the walls as they absorbed the sound. The sound of his sobs wouldn't escape...
"Now I am the most powerful on the planet..."
"You are not alone..."
"Now I am..."
"Don't blame yourself..."
"Now I am the last Superman... the last one standing."
"You are not alone, Billy..."
"Tell me, Sanctuary... Will there ever be someone who can stop me if I go off the path?"
"You are not him, Captain... The League always..."
"Do I have the right to wish I never found the Wizard?"
"You have the right to feel safe, protected, and wish for more."
The boy rubbed his face, wiping away the tears.
"You are too eloquent to be an AI..."
"Thank you for your effort and sacrifice..."
"You're welcome, I suppose, at least someone knows now..."

Superbat fic prompt
Injustice AU where Superman wants to keep Batman alive and bring him back to his side, bring the trio back. But Batman is not an easy man, he has a strong principal that is hard to get through. but as Diana pressing Superman to kill Batman, one day he just snapped to Diana, and accidentally killed Batman who wants to protect Diana.
Superman, preserve Batman's body. wrap him in a suit that Bruce Wayne would wear. as months passed, he always finds himself alone with Bruce. he missed him. he missed his best friend. He had this little crush on him one time ago, but since lois is dead together with his unborn child, his only source of love is from playing hide and seek with Batman, and with Batman gone, his life is now empty.
Superman used all his knowledge about the watchtower, and made a portal. he needs to find another Batman. the one that could get him feel alive.
on the other earth, Superman happily invited the Justice League members to his wedding with lois. it's in a month. He wanted Bruce to be his best man since Bruce is his best of friends. Batman has this.. secret crush for a while now, but the man he loves is going to get married to a woman he loves, Bruce can't do anything other than be happy.
as the other members walk out to celebrate, batman is the only one left to check the teleporter. the teleporter went on, and he heard voices calling him from the other side, with worried in his voice.
Batman walked in and the portal went off, making him completely trapped in a new earth, alone and without anyone knows.
Injustice!Superman met him, and gave him a little request. "Stay on this earth for a month, please. then I'll get you back to your earth. i just need to feel alive."
Batman choose to stay there. for a month, but as Bruce Wayne, not Batman. because this world has it's own Batman.
the plan changes, Injustice!Superman can't hold his attention to Bruce and change the mission to be supe's wife for a month. discovering the new earth and anything inside, Bruce getting fond of this earth and at the end, he shares his DNA to bring back this Earth's Batman before he gets back to his main earth. just to be the best man of the person he had loved for the past month, in another earth.

Okay I had a thought because I’m on a platonic yandere streak
I had a thought of Injustice Superman adopting a child or children who look like what he pictured Lois’ and his children to look like…
Or…
In the Adventures of Jon Kent he ends up in the Injustice Universe so just imagine if Jon ends up there with his little sister and when Jon gets sent back his sister ends up getting stuck there…

WRT your field, a question; do you also study supervillains or is that a separate field?
My field isn't actually that large. So it stands to reason that people who study supervillains are equally included in the work that I do. If only because it's a lot of the same knowledge in a historical and contextual sense. But there are a few things that I've noticed about one "group" over the other.
Tumblr media
(One of the many supervillain 'teams' over the years, this one the Secret Society entering a battle against the League at a football stadium) 1. Supervillains are probably a lot EASIER to study at least in a certain detail oriented sense. After all when a supervillain is arrested their secret identity is unveiled to the world in booking and their relevant background, origin and the like are all brought out during discovery as part of their trial. As such we tend to know about supervillains a lot more than we do their heroic counterparts. Often I have to shrug my shoulders and say we just don't know that core background of a superhero because nobody besides them knows anyway.
2. Interestingly, people who study superVILLAINS tend to have backgrounds or minors in criminology or psychology. Unlike other Superhero Studies students who tend to have backgrounds or minors in sociology or history (my minor is in political geography). This is understandable. Studying supervillains has way more to do with trying to figure out the people in question, whereas studying superheroes is more about watching the ebb and flow of their relationships, actions and reactions on historical events about and surrounding them. A superVILLAIN expert is much more likely to say, be called in at a villain's trial and have to explain their pathology to a jury.
3. None of this applies to people who run the endless glut of supervillain 'True Crime' podcasts or blogs or anything else. Those people tend to be blundering amateurs without an ounce of tact whose main methodology is calling people who lost family members to the Joker in the middle of the night and badgering them until they get another restraining order pinned to their hides.
4. People who study supervillains are a deeply brave and principled sort. Rather than being focused on the tragedy or romanticizing the inhumane psychology of these people, the supervillain students I know are more focused on trying to find out who supervillains are, why they do what they do and how they commit their crimes in the interest of preventing harm or even rehabilitating them.
The person who most closely fits here that I know personally was a project partner of mine back in Metropolis, we ended up getting to know each other very well. She came from a family with a history of poverty and criminal conviction and she saw a similar pattern manifesting in supervillains. That villains are often people who have been forgotten or wronged by an uncaring system and have either never been presented with another outlet for their needs or have been pushed to the limit when they DID try to escape bad circumstances.
She's a guidance counselor at Iron Heights now, actually and she reads this blog. Hi Tiff! Happy birthday, if I scheduled this right!
