How It Works - Creators

Creators can sign up now through July 15. All DCU creators welcome. Any parts of the DCU fandom are welcome (including crossovers). ALL types of fan works are welcome, including digital art and fanfiction (if you wish to donate a physical item, such as physical art or merch, please reach out to us).

Creators will have complete control over what they offer. Before July 20, creators will be expected to create commission sheets. Here is a guide on making a commission sheet. We will share all of these commission sheets on the tumblr page and in a masterpost.

Creators can begin posting their creations on August 17. This is NOT a deadline, but the whole week will be a celebration of everyone’s hard work. We will be sharing everyone’s completed works, the total amount raised, and more! We will continue to share completed commissions after this week. There are no specific deadlines, but we ask that creators be upfront with donors about their timeline. Creations should be posted on tumblr and there will also be an ao3 collection for fics.

How It Works - Donors

Commissions will be open July 20-August 10. Donors will be able to commission fanworks in exchange for donations to Palestinian causes. Donors get to pick which creator they would like to commission to get the DCU fan work of their dreams! I know we’re all having a lot of fun mocking Anime Twink Deathstroke, but can we talk about what an excellent decision that actually is? Among DC villains, Deathstroke has some of the best age progression— his first appearance with the Teen Titans has him in his late thirties, maybe early forties, and recent comics have him look to be at least fifty or sixty. So when you take that in the other direction and put him in his early twenties, it really sells that these are the early days of the DC universe.

Honestly, I’m in love with everything about these villain choices. Lex Luthor might be the obvious villain for a Superman story, but having his first enemies be Amanda Waller and Task Force X— the Suicide Squad? That’s fucking poetry. That’s saying “in an immigrant story, the first enemy is the government”. That is understanding the assignment!

DC taking huge strides in alternate forms of animation is going to be what saves them after the DCU film debacle. Dont get me wrong I'm a slut for some western animation but the anime styles of My Adventures with Superman

The Teen Titans Go

These are drawing in fans like nobodies business and doing a great job at capturing different demographics too.

This isnt a new trend of course. The original Teen Titans show was vastly different in style from any other DCAU show at the time

And i believe its the steady fanbase of this show that gave DC the idea to keep trying out new styles.

If you haven't watched any of these shows i recommend them.
