You mentioned before that the people who would have access to Machete's bedchamber would likely already know about Vasco. How did that come up in your mind? Did they get caught in the act or was the subject broached with enough trust? How did those people handle it? Sorry if this is a bit vague but I thought about it today and I'm very interested. :)

I think it just has to be the case, I can't imagine how they could manage to hide the fact Vasco is bunking with him from everyone, for years and years. Machete doesn't live alone, he has staff and servants who do his housekeeping and run his errands. Even if Vasco didn't stay there for any extended periods of time and snuck out the back door to avoid attention, I'm assuming at least the people who do his laundry and change his sheets would eventually detect that some sort of funny business had happened. But the number of people who are in on it is still very very small and tightly controlled. His assistant Vittorio definitely knows and helps to manage this situation, so does his personal doctor, and on top of that maybe a handful of most trusted high-ranking emplyees, which he has vetted extremely carefully and pays handsomely for their discreetness and prudence.

so I started playing the new Frontiers of Pandora game last night, and was pleasantly surprised that not only did the opening cutscene feature a few lines of spoken Na'vi dialogue, but said dialogue was actually pretty accurate!! Good job game!!

I assume this implies the same things are going to be on Disney+ internationally too? Would make sense to apply the same work on both platforms.

Remus praise kink Lupin discovering his destiny as a service top and Sirius being delighted to indulge him. Ik I usually write Sirius as the one with the praise kink but I feel like canonically it is absolutely Remus, Mr 'I just want people to like me at any cost', I'm looking at the line where Harry tells him he's the best teacher he's ever had and he blinks quickly and looks away. His whole personality as this carefully mild and gentle guy, hiding his temper so no one sees him as the big scary wolf. Letting his friends do whatever stupid (sometimes awful) shit they want because he's so desperately grateful that they like him, so earnestly just wanting to be liked.

So naturally, he's a Giver in bed - it's his Job to make Sirius feel as good as he possibly can, and Remus is employee of the year. He makes Sirius come as many times as Sirius will let him, until he pushes him away laughing breathlessly and shaking. And only then will Remus come, admiring how blissful and fucked out Sirius is because of him.

Then one day during sex Sirius discovers that Remus goes absolutely wild when he tells him how good he is, how well he's fucking him, and when he calls him a 'good boy', Remus is putty in his hands, down on his knees eating Sirius out until his jaw aches, not stopping until Sirius tells him to - putty. Sirius pets his head after and chuckles to himself, muttering 'the prefect thing really makes sense'.

So like, i had a thought about 3-14 while re listening and like do you think that howdy might've just grabbed the wrong box on accident and instead of admitting he was wrong, just kept selling it as potatoes. And like?? The way they portray Ganondorf?? My most generous, forgiving possible interpretation of their thought process is that they were trying to stick with the old story structure and just somehow ended up astoundingly tone deaf, but at worst this was actively meant to add to the imperialist narrative. They mirror a scene from oot that has some really nasty implications, and push some things to be even worse. There's so much going on with this portrayal of Ganondorf I don't even know where to start.

Oh no, they 100% knew what they were doing. And even if they didn't, honestly it's 2023, there's no excuse for this bullshit. People have been pointing out the racism with OOT's throne room scene for twenty five years now, and Nintendo really did just go "gotcha, we hear you, and we understand, we will increase the level of racism".

Honestly the most infuriating part of this? They can do better. We fucking know they can do better, because they've done it before. There's a reason nobody shuts up about Wind Waker Ganondorf, and that's because he has depth and nuance. They give him actual motives beyond just "for the evulz". He outright explains that his people were starving and desperate in a desolate landscape, they were being actively kept out of fertile land they desperately needed, and as their leader Ganondorf made a desperate play to try and save them. That doesn't change the things he wound up doing, but... he still has a very real and sympathetic reason at the core of his motives. He didn't just want to end the world or what the fuck ever. He wanted his people to have a better life. And he was driven to such desperate lengths because Hyrule was cruel and oppressive towards them - it was genuinely the only option available to him. And now he has nothing. His story is a horrible tragedy.

...But now Nintendo's not comfortable with things like nuance or emotional storytelling so fuck it, the Gerudo exist to be Zelda's personal cheerleading squad, they all feel the need to atone for their horrible crime of being brown being the same race as Ganondorf, and the only thing Gerudo women want in life is to find a good Hylian husband to settle down with.

There could be so much there! But instead we get the same, stale, twenty five year old racism in a shiny new package.
