Jet from Avatar the Last Airbender is such a character I get crazy about if i think about him too long

You’re literally just some angry kid who takes care of a bunch of orphans, you have such a twisted sense of justice to a point you’re willing to murder a bunch of innocent civilians just due to their association to the people who destroyed everything you love.

You try and move on but you can never fully erase that seething anger boiling deep inside. I mean, how could you? That inferno has been burning inside you since you were a child.

And yet others try and smother that anger, douse that fire deep inside you to make you complaint and do their bidding, and it works, only for a little while.

They could never smother that fire forever, it burned too bright. There is so much fucking hatred and grief in your heart that you’re able to break through intense brainwashing that literally no one has ever broken through before.

And then you die.

Surrounded by two of your closest friends and that searing anger still scorching your soul, burning you alive. Never living to see the end of the war that consumed your whole life and only really being remembered by your all consuming need for revenge, not for your heroic sacrifice.

You were just an angry and scorned kid, and then you died.

Thinking about Jet living and growing up.

I have a hard time imagining Jet as an adult. I genuinely can't separate him from his teenaged self. And I think this shows, whenever I draw him. I can give other characters different clothing, but Jet is always in his mismatched armor when I draw him (in universe, we're talking in universe, not the silly outfits I put him in for silly sketches). I can't picture him with anything other than the wild untamed hair he has at age 16. I want to explore what else he might wear, should he have lived, but I can't quite get it.

Anyone have any personal thoughts/ideas/headcanons? For whether he stays in the EK, or if he goes to the Fire Nation (if we are living in my Jetko dreams)?

Jet and Azula being frenemies post-Azula redemption arc. They both rolled a nat 20 in charisma, if they don't like you they will make sure you know, they're so passionate they will not shut up until the other backs down and the overwhelming theater kid energy is just suffocating. When they're not at each other's throats they're sharing the nastiest gossip they "accidentally" overheard about the people they hate,stuff that even generals couldn't torture out of someone. The palace staff wonder how the Hell Zuko survives them being in the same room at all
