In 2022, Soyeon of (G)I-DLE created the song NXDE to raise awareness about the hyper-sexualization of women and the sexual mistreatment of all people, especially in the kpop industry.

Recently, the kpop industry has experienced numerous scandals that have proven that this message was not taken to heart. For example, Taeil of NCT 127 sexually assaulted and blackmailed a young girl; numerous idols, many of whom are minors, have been targets of ai deepfakes that depict them naked or performing sexual acts; subreddits dedicated to fap have become incredibly prevalent, with many of the idols on them again being minors; and recently, Gaeun of MADEIN was sexually assaulted and then blackmailed by her company's CEO while she was underage.

Because of this, we (the tumblr community coming from quotev) have decided to start what we are calling Project NXDE. The aim of the project is to spread awareness of the numerous misconducts happening both in the kpop industry and globally, using (G)I-DLE's songs to show that we all care and will not stand by as people are harassed and assaulted. If you stand by the fact that all this is messed up, make your tagline, pfp, blog theme, something related to the song NXDE or supporting the project. It might seem a little overkill, but spreading this message is incredibly important.
