I've noticed that gif stealing and reposting is back in full force recently, and I don't just mean twitter people who take gifs from here and repost them there. The tags are full of idiots (some malicious and others just dumb) sharing reposted gifs pretty damn brazenly rn. I didn't almost survive an aneurysm when someone said "what's the big deal, it only takes 5 mins" so lmao yeah. And when it's not that, it's people writing detailed meta who just save gifs and use them to make their point, no credit, of course. Write your metas and analysis, react to funny posts by adding a gif, but credit your gifmakers. You wouldn't like it if I were to straight up use your entire meta and copy paste it as a new post, would you? Literally begging y'all to practice common sense and decency.

fandom psa: report and block the hell out of @ bestwitchsam—firstly, they shamelessly steal art, edits and posts from all sorts of fandoms and platforms (including tumblr itself, instead of, you know, reblogging like a normal person) and often “forget” to credit the source

but also today i was looking through the reblogs of this post and noticed 1) i didn’t see my notes in the list, where i criticize their behavior and link the actual source, in the list, 2) all the reblogs pointing out the art was stolen were gone and 3) out of 534 current reblogs, only 14 are visible. clearly the “hide note” feature has been abused heavily

Now I'm curious (because I see this 100% happening at least ONCE within the world I'm writing and I think it's hilarious)--

Imagine you're a worshipper of this one amazing goddess who can do no wrong, helps and has helped a lot of people. Then, one day, you're living your life and you meet this one guy. He's absolutely covered in scars, looks like he grew up in some kind of penitentiary. And he's buff. Like, seriously buff. Built like a horse.

He introduces himself.

He shares his name with one of your goddess's old angels. This one guy used to be one of her top guys, one of her most powerful attendants... up until the day he attacked her.

Then he was cursed and cast down for his crimes.

"Ha," you say, half out of awkwardness and half to fill the air while you figure out what to say. "That was real cruel of your parents, huh? Naming you after that guy."

The man sighs heavily, face twitching.

"No," he says, barely restraining his rage, "that's me."

Hey just a little information, the person @/darkeliite you just reblogged "grumpy toji" from is reposting AI art massively with their watermark on it and pretending it's their real art. It's a disgrace to all actual artists. I'd avdise you to blog them and maybe post about it so others now.

I am sorry I couldn't reply to this earlier because that was a part of queue and i've been busy but thank you sm for informing!! I actually reverse searched their other "artworks" that they claim as their own (I couldn't find the toji one anywhere except on Pinterest maybe cause some of them got deleted/removed from the apps) and you're right it's neither theirs and all of them are ai, here are the one's I found and the tags under them:

this is the deviantart account these are from. their latest this gojo art is from janitorai and they're not even the same watermark/artist, which is basically stealing but from ai.

Hopefully more people see this and stop reblogging it.
