✶ the latest report on my shift to my better cr (aka kind of a socialite dr)
◞ when i shifted : for way longer. way, way longer. i blinked and suddenly i had months’ worth of memories. time is fake, time is a performance, time is a dinner party where i am the guest of honour and also the mysterious figure slipping out the back door. the ratio? unknown. inconceivable. i went to sleep and woke up and lived. isn’t that enough? but the present in my better cr is currently the present in here !
◞ where i shifted : still new york, still my mom’s penthouse, still living in a pinterest board except this time i fully leaned into it. every single aesthetic touch, every candle, every casually draped cashmere throw. curated to perfection. we are talking "architectural digest home tour where the interviewer is quietly weeping over how good my taste is" levels of perfection. the google maps situation remains the same: in this reality, my house is a hotel. fate? simulation glitch? the universe keeping me humble? who knows.
◞ family dynamics : my older brother remains a tech bro of the most devastating calibre. the type who makes a billion-dollar deal on his phone in between espresso shots, then immediately gets distracted by an art heist conspiracy theory and disappears for a week. my younger brother (he's weirdly obsessed with filming cars for instagram) continues to reside with my dad in the west village, and their place is basically a salon for the emotionally sophisticated. like, picture cigars (unlit, for aesthetic), first edition books, and a record player that only plays vinyls of people arguing in french. my dad..... still at sotheby’s, still slightly overwhelmed, still one misplaced signature away from an auction-house disaster. my mom is still an empire-builder, still the queen of sugar-free decadence, still able to make a CEO cry in under five minutes. i am so obsessed with her.
◞ my friends : lily-rose remains my ride-or-die. our friendship has transcended words and become something closer to an art form. we communicate through glances, through impeccably timed laughter, through the shared knowledge that we are always, always the main characters. also, blair waldorf is STILL in my life, and i am STILL not over it. she tolerates me, which is the highest form of affection. the gossip girl universe continues to imprint itself onto my reality, and honestly? i welcome it. @chaaistained you're still the light of my life xxxx
◞ loml, coryo : mhm. mhm. mhm. (pause for applause). not writing how just yet, but let’s just say the universe finally got the memo. cutest cutie ever.
◞ food : the cafes remain exquisite. the hazelnut croissants remain life-altering. i have officially become one with my iced matcha. my bloodstream is no longer soy milk; it is pure, concentrated vibes. best meal.... one night my mum and i booked out an entire restaurant just to have a private dinner and discuss our enemies. just mother-daughter bonding things. le bernardin continues to serve food so good i nearly cried. and, of course, because i went to paris, we gorged on croissants.
◞ outfits : i wake up. my closet, endless. my options, infinite. every single piece of clothing i have ever wanted? there. there were DAYS i changed outfits purely because i could. there were NIGHTS i sat in front of my floor-length mirror, trying on silk dresses and whispering, "what’s the move tonight?" even if there was no move. just the illusion of one.
◞ school : st. lazarus remains the most iconic institution to ever exist. the uniforms are still perfect. the hierarchy is still thrilling. my classes are as follows !!! :
philosophy : my professor has officially lost his grip on reality. i am his nemesis and also his favourite student. i say things just to watch him spiral. it’s a sport. history : the battlefield. coryo is writing my history IA. i am having the time of my life. literature : divine. ethereal. my professor respects me too much. maths : a struggle but at least my notes look nice. but i did script that i atleast understand what's happening.
◞ social scene : parties, parties, PARTIES. penthouses, rooftops, spontaneous trips. people draped over velvet sofas, half-drunk champagne glasses abandoned on marble countertops. whispered secrets. dramatic exits. nights that felt like music videos.
◞ unforgettable moments : celebrated my younger brother’s 15th birthday. f1-themed, obviously, because he’s still in his karting prodigy era. the cake was a racetrack. the vibe was grand prix meets family sitcom. the whole paris trip. somewhere in the mix: a snowstorm, a museum date, a night spent on the roof because the city looked too beautiful to go inside. got recognised at least once in public. tried a new restaurant where the shakshuka made me question my entire existence. there were art gallery openings where the champagne was free-flowing and the conversations were like a linguistic fencing match. sunday brunches that spiraled into entire days out. afternoons spent trying on impractical dresses just to twirl in fitting rooms. soft launches of new perfumes (because every era needs a signature scent).
◞ books i read : ulysses (continued). the secret history ( i read it in my cr...but...c'mon. it was time ). a collection of sapphic poetry that made me feel like i was floating.
◞ the details that made it real : the way my pen scratched against my notebook in class. the exact weight of my chloé tote in my hand. the way my breath fogged up the glass of my balcony doors when i pressed my forehead against them in the early morning. the quiet click of my mum’s marc jacobs' boots on marble floors.
◞ oh !!! and christmas !!! : christmas in my better cr was in lithuania, obviously. flew out on the 23rd, spent it with the extended family. my grandma made dubai chocolate (not that kind of dubai chocolate...she lives in karoliniškės, ok). my makeup artist aunt got me a lip tint, very on brand. my one-year-old cousin nora is in her cherubic era. we were besties for the week. played with her nonstop. got my younger brother every f1 lego car in existence. my mum got me archival miu miu. my great-grandma saw me, got sentimental, cried a little, made me eat an ungodly amount of cepelinai. very lithuanian of her. left early, landed at jfk at a stupid hour. 1 am. coryo was there in sweatpants, threw his car at the curb like he was in some noir film, very dramatic, very romantic. nearly tackled me. i was gone for less than a week but he missed me like it had been years. got me presents too. he is so lovesick it’s almost embarrassing.
Tumblr media
that’s it for now, lovies. i have MORE, obviously, but let’s pace ourselves. mwah xxxxxxx

It was late at the cafe, the setting sun outside causing a wave of soft golden light that further added to the warm, comfy aesthetic.
Your back was turned to the front, wiping down one of the espresso machines to clean it. Your head spun around when you heard the low growl of a bike outside.
He was here.
He came inside, pulling his helmet off as he shut the door. He smooths his dark hair with his hand and took a look at the menu on the wall briefly before approaching you behind the counter.
He clears his throat before speaking in a calm, quiet voice.
“A slice of almond tofu and a hot caramel latte, please.”
You smile, plugging it into the register before grabbing a ticket to write his order on. “For here?”
“Yes.”
“And soy milk, right?”
He blushes slightly. You remember him. “Yes, soy milk.”
You chuckle, capping the pen and setting the ticket on the espresso machine. He moved to sit down at his usual spot, a large dark brown leather couch in the corner of the cafe by the only outlet. It was directly across from the pick up counter, and you used this to your advantage, slowly stealing glances at him while he typed away on his laptop or read whatever book he had that day.
You got to work on his order, picking a large slice of the almond tofu before putting more of the frangipane and almond slices on top. You know he always wanted more almond on top, and even though it was an extra 50 cents, you never charged him. You made his latte, paying extra attention to the latte art. A heart would be too forward, you thought, so you did a fern.
You plate his order before sliding it onto the pickup counter. “It’s Megumi, right?”
He looks up from his laptop, his lips slightly parted. “Yeah, do I really come in here that much?” He stands up and collects his order before sitting back down.
“Yeah, but I don’t mind.”
He smiles before taking a bite of the almond tofu. “I like this cafe. It’s so comfortable and calming…plus the coffee and food are really good.”
He glances out the window briefly before turning back to you. He clarifies your name, and to your own surprise, he said it correctly.
You smile. “That's me,” You point to your nametag which had “HEAD BARISTA” carved into it under your name.
He glances at it and smiles at you. “How long have you been working here?”
You grab a rag from the sanitizer bucket and begin wiping down the counter. “About three years.”
He whistles, “That’s a long time.” He takes a sip of the latte. “I assume I’m one of your regulars.”
You smile. “Yeah, it’s hard to forget that bike.” You put the rag back into the sanitizer bucket.
He smirks, scratching his jaw. “Ah, so I’m memorable?”
You smile again. “Very. Also, you’re one of the only customers that gets the almond tofu. The matcha is the most popular.” You lean across the counter, propped up on your elbows.
“It’s one of my favorite things here. I love how simple yet sweet it is.” He looks out the window again before looking back at you. “Can I ask you for some advice?”
You’re taken aback, but you say yes anyway.
Megumi sighs, facing you completely. “So, I just moved here, and I’ve been having some issues with my bike, with the engine and the exhaust…my friend and I have been trying to repair it but nothing is working. Do you know of any auto shops around?” He reaches up and scratches the back of his head, and you had to force yourself to ignore how his bicep moved under his shirt.
You smile. You had this in the bag. “Actually, funnily enough, my dad is a mechanic,” You reach over to the napkin holder and pull a pen out of your apron pocket, scribbling down the address. “You can come by tomorrow, if you want.” You slide it across the counter.
His eyes light up. “R-Really? That's so sweet of you, umm…” He pauses. “How much would it cost? I haven’t gotten paid yet.”
You wave away his worries. “It’ll be on the house. My dad does free repairs for my friends.”
Megumi’s eyebrows raise. “Are you sure?”
You nod, smiling again. “Come by around noon.”
He smiles down at the napkin before folding it up and putting it in his pocket. “Thank you so much…you seriously don’t understand how much it means to me.”
You step back from the counter. “Don’t worry about it.”
Megumi shoves the remaining tofu in his mouth before gulping down the rest of the drink, sliding the dishes to you. “Thank you so much. I’ll see you at noon tomorrow.”
You pick up the dishes, setting them aside to wash. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Megumi.”
You watch as he leaves, putting his helmet back on and climbing onto his bike. He drives off, into the sunset, and you can’t wait for tomorrow.
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚*:・゚✧
It was a hot day in Tokyo.
You get up early, taking your time to thoroughly get ready. He had only ever seen you in your barista uniform, no makeup with your hair pulled back, and an ugly, bulky brown apron on. You want to impress him, you need to impress him.
You look in the mirror one last time, fixing your hair and tugging on your thin sundress. It’s one of your favorites, pretty short, just hitting the middle of your thigh, a soft lavender color, and fairly loose fitting. A slight breeze would cause it to float up, but if Megumi saw that you wouldn’t mind too much.
You head over to your dad’s workshop, pulling open the heavy gate and stepping inside. You had lied and said Megumi was a school friend to secure the free discount for him. You pace around, antsy, occasionally glancing at your phone. It was already 12:15, and worry that he wasn’t coming was eating you alive.
Megumi pulls up to the workshop on the edge of town, parking his bike in front of the garage door. He walks up and knocks, hoping you would answer and not your father.
You pull the door up, smiling. “Hey, Megumi!”
Megumi smiles, trying to not let his eyes wander over your body. “Hey, sorry I’m late…it nearly gave out on me on the ride over here.” He starts walking his motorcycle inside the garage.
“It’s okay,” You smile. “My dads in his office, I’ll go get him.”
You rush to your dad’s office, knocking on the door and peeking your head in. Megumi tries not to watch your ass move in your dress as you walked, but he can’t help himself.
Your father exits his office, greeting Megumi with a smile. You stand behind your father and watch; watch the way Megumi’s eyes lit up when he was discussing his bike, how big his smile was when your father confirms, yes, the repairs would be free, and how his arms moved as he gestured.
You want him. Badly.
Your father squats down by the bike, examining the exhaust pipe. He unscrews the covers on the side to look at the engine, and whistles.
He stands back up, looking at Megumi. “This might take a while. I gotta go across town to get some replacement parts.” Megumi’s eyes widen, and he fumbles for his wallet in his bag. He pulls it out and starts inquiring about the payment when your father shakes his head. “On the house, you’re a friend of my daughter. Don’t worry about it.”
Megumi gulps. “Are you sure, sir?” Your father nods before heading over to you and kissing you on the forehead.
“I’ll leave right now. I’ll be back in maybe an hour or so.”
You both say your goodbyes and the garage door shut with a bang as your father leaves.
Now it’s just the two of you, alone.
You finally break the silence. “Do you want to sit in his office? It’s air conditioned.”
He smiles. “Yes, please. The heat is killing me.”
You chuckle before leading him into your father’s office, sitting down in his big office chair. Your thighs smush together when you sit down, and it make Megumi’s jaw tick. You grab the small hand fan your father kept on his desk and begin fanning yourself.
Megumi sits in the chair across the desk. “So, do you help out here, too? Or do you just work at the cafe?”
A droplet of sweat travels down your collarbone. “I help out here sometimes. Mostly I’m an errand girl.”
You keep fanning yourself, pulling the dress down your thighs. You’re already hot and sweaty, and being around Megumi definitely doesn’t help.
He crosses his legs, trying to hide the erection that was slowly forming. You look so adorable in your dress, and Megumi can’t help but imagine kissing your shoulders and chest as he slides the straps down-
No. He has to focus and hold out. At least for a little bit longer.
He leans his elbows on his knees, wiping his lip with his thumb. “That's nice of you, to help your father.”
You swallow hard, sitting up straight and squeezing your thighs together. He’s so effortlessly beautiful. “Yeah, I guess so. He fixes my car for free.”
You continue to fan yourself. It gets awkwardly quiet, the only sound being from the clock ticking on the wall above the door.
He looks at you, rubbing his thumb on his knee in a circular motion. “Do you think he’ll actually take an hour?”
You nod. “He gets distracted at the store, talking to his mechanic buddies. Honestly, he’ll probably take longer than that.”
Megumi grins. “Perfect. I want you all to myself for a while.”
You bite back a whine and squeeze your thighs together again, finally responding with “Mhm.”
He smirks. “You okay? A bit hot?”
You nod, sheepish. “Yeah…a bit.”
“Mhmm, I can tell. You keep squeezing your thighs together. It’s adorable.” Megumi says.
You nearly faint. “It is?”
“It’s the cutest thing.” He stands up from the chair and walks around the desk, kneeling in front of you.
You let out a soft gasp, shutting the fan and setting it down on the desk.
He smirks, and reaches up to touch your thighs. “Is this okay?” You nod, sliding down further in the chair. He groans, spreading his hands over your thighs. “God, these are driving me crazy.”
“Yeah?”
He leans down and places a soft kiss on your thigh. “Yeah. Been wanting to sink my teeth into them. Been wanting you ever since yesterday.”
You gulp. “Since yesterday? Even when I’m in my uniform?”
He nods, squeezing your thighs with his hands. They’re rough and calloused and you nearly cum on the spot. “You looked so fucking innocent, it drove me crazy. I almost crashed on the way home because I was so goddamn hard and I couldn’t stop thinking about fucking that little mouth of yours.”
Your mouth dropped open, almost instinctively. “Um, I mean-I wouldn’t mind that.”
He smirks again. “I know you wouldn’t, baby.”
Baby. You let out a shaky breath.
He pushes the hem of your dress around your hips, his eyes nearly bulging out of his head when he sees your panties. Black, relatively plain, but there’s a little purple bow on the front and it makes his head spin. “Can I take these off?”
Your face flushes. “I thought you wanted me to…you know-”
“Gag on my cock?” Megumi finishes your sentence for you. “I do. But, that can wait. I need to get my mouth on you or else I’m going to die.”
You nod. You aren’t complaining, not at all. “You can take ‘em off, then.”
Megumi slides your panties down, pocketing them for later, and spreads your legs wide. He moans when he sees your little cunt for the first time. He wraps his hands around your hips and pulls you to the edge of the chair.
You feel anxious under his gaze. Does he not like it? Is it pretty? Before you can even think about asking, he leans forward and slots his mouth over you.
You gasp, immediately going to thread your fingers through his hair. It’s soft, despite the gel. Maybe you should ask him what kind he uses after.
Megumi moans when he tastes you, moving his tongue flat in small circles over your clit. He can’t get enough, the taste is driving him crazy. And you’re so sensitive too, squirming and moaning his name.
He moves his mouth away and slides two fingers inside you. You whine at the loss of contact and try to push his head down again. He chuckles. “Patience, pretty girl, patience.”
You shake your head. You can barely focus on anything other than his long fingers pumping in and out of you. They feel so much better than your own. “Can’t, Megs, I can’t. I need you.”
“I know you do,” He coos, thrusting even faster. His thumb takes the place of his tongue, rubbing your clit in small circles. “Your cute little clit is so swollen, just for me. Isn’t that right, sweetheart?”
You nod eagerly. “Yes! All for you, Megs!” Your hips buck a little when his thumb speeds up.
He fucking laughs at that. “Sensitive little slut, aren’t ya?”
You nod again, nearly cumming at his condescending laugh and the pet name. “Your…your slut, Megumi.”
He smirks. “All mine. You were practically made for me, baby. I can just tell this little cunt is gonna squeeze my cock so well.” His fingers speed up and he moves his thumb to replace it with his tongue.
His fingers rub against that spongey spot inside you and you cum immediately, clenching around his fingers as you grind against his tongue.
Megumi pulls away, a triumphant smile on his face. “Fuck. Good girl.” He gives your clit a gentle slap before getting up from his knees. He pulls off his shirt and starts to unbuckle his belt. “Bend over the desk. Right now.”
You happily oblige, moving your father’s papers aside and bending over the desk, hiking your dress up around your hips.
He grabs your hips tight, pushing your thighs open with his knees. “Fuck, sweetheart, you look so good like this.”
You shake a little. “I do?”
Megumi groans, rubbing the tip of his cock up and down your folds. “So fucking good. Makes me wanna take you home and make you my personal little fucktoy.”
You let out a shaky moan. Holy shit. “I-I-I mean I wouldn’t mind.”
He groans again. “Goddamn, you’re perfect. Maybe I should make you mine. Take you home, treat you right, fuck your brains out every night…”
His voice trails off, and you go to respond with a pathetic ‘Please, Megumi!’ when you feel his cock push against your cunt and slowly start sliding in.
Your eyes roll into the back of your head and you moan.
He grabs your hair roughly, right at the root. “Fuck.”
Megumi’s cock slides all the way in and you almost cum. You feel like your choking, like his cock is in your guts.
“So big…” You manage to say.
He reaches his other hand around and wraps it around your throat, and this time you do cum.
Megumi groans loudly. “God, fuck, did you just cum?” You nod pathetically and he chuckles. “Fucking whore. I love it.”
His hips start moving, the pat pat pat filling your ears. You can hardly think, quickly being pushed past your second orgasm as the third one looms.
You swallow some drool before it escapes your lips. “Megumi…”
“Shhh, pretty girl,” Megumi coos. “Just relax. Let me take care of you.” He squeezes your neck a little.
Your mouth drops open as his hips speed up. His soft moans are right by your ear, and even though you’re getting fucked stupid, you can’t help but imagine what he sounds like when you’re between his thighs gagging on his stupidly big cock.
You let out an embarrassingly loud moan when he squeezes your neck again.
He moves his hand from your neck to your mouth, covering it. “Shhh, baby. We don’t want your neighbors to hear you, do we?”
You nod, agreeing with him. You can’t let anything ruin this moment.
Megumi keeps his hand clamped over your mouth as his hips speed up. “Fuck, sweetheart, I wanted to hold out but I don’t think I can last. Your little cunt is so wet and perfect, fucking hell.”
He tugs your head back further and your eyes meet.
Tears well in your eyes and you mumble against his hand. “Please cum inside me, Megumi.”
His eyes darken. “Yeah? You want me to fill you up? Get you nice and pregnant?”
You’ve never even thought about having kids, but honestly you would do anything for him at this point. You nod pathetically.
His smirk fades as he moans. “Fuck, sweetheart, you’re killing me.”
Megumi keeps a tight grip on your hair as his thrusts speed up. His orgasm sneaks up on him. “Fuck, fuck, shit-baby, fuck, ‘m cumming!” He cums loudly, letting go of your hair and gripping your hips with both hands to keep you from moving away.
You lay there on your father’s desk, drooling slightly.
He flips you onto your back and sits you upright. “You okay? Did I go too hard?”
You smile softly. “It was perfect.”
Megumi grins before looking down at your cunt as his cum drips out. “Fuck. Do you have a tissue or something?”
You blindly reach behind you and grab the box of tissues your father keeps on his desk. Megumi takes one and cleans you up gently.
He kisses your clit before slapping it again. “You’re such a good girl.”
Your legs are still shaking. “Your good girl.”
His eyebrows raise. “Yeah? You wanna be mine?”
You nod. “Wanna be all yours, Megs.”
Megumi pulls you close, wrapping his arms around your waist. “I think we can arrange that.”
The floor shakes as the garage door opens, signaling your father’s return.
His eyes flick to the clock. “Hey, you lied! He only took 45 minutes!”

People requested I make another post, this time detailing what affects Cove's Step 3 appearance, so that's what I'm doing today!
My previous post contains more details about the specific mechanics behind it, but the short and sweet of it is that things that your MC notices/picks up/favors/focuses on will influence Cove's appearance, but there are a couple that aren't like that and will change him anyway. If you want to get a different Cove than you had before without using the Cove Creator, try choosing different taste/aesthetic-based options, though keep in mind that there isn't a guarantee that it'll completely change him.
As for going through without using the Cove Creator, the only moments in Step 2 that don't have anything that will affect Step 3 Cove's look are Wave and Summerwork, so feel free to pick whatever you want in both of those. Everything else has at least something.
All that said, here's the list of every chance you have to change Step 3 Cove's appearance:
Step 2 Intro
If MC allows Derek and Cove to dig into the fruit bouquet {note that this will give Cove +1 warm points}:
You took a pineapple skewer. [no bracelet(s) on left wrist]
You took a grape skewer. [black wristband on left wrist]
You took a strawberry skewer. [no bracelet(s) on left wrist]
You took a melon skewer. [chain bracelet and beaded wrap bracelet with jewel on left wrist]
When Kyra asks the MC for recommendations for places to eat:
You shrugged. [spiky hair] {note that this will give Cove +1 cold points}
"Not really." [middle-parted hair] {note that this will give Cove +1 warm points}
"Sure, I have a couple of favorites." [no change}
You nodded. [no change}
If the MC agrees to give Kyra restaurant suggestions:
"The Chinese restaurant." [spiky hair]
"The tropical themed place." [ponytail hair]
You insisted Cove contribute to the decision. [middle-parted hair]
You insisted Kyra decide. [ponytail hair]

"You should always bring shoes when you're going out." [blue swimming trunks] {note that this will give Cove +1 cold points}
"I'm not wearing any either." {note that this will give Cove +1 warm points} -> "I don't know." [blue swimming trunks]

[black stud earrings] (if your Step 3 Cove currently has the spiky hair) or [silver huggie earrings] (if your Step 3 Cove currently has the ponytail hair)
Step 2 Ending
If you didn't play Family nor chosen any options that change Cove's pants: [distressed blue jeans]
In addition to all of these, if you've noticed that a third bracelet on Cove's left wrist is missing, it's because you can only give it to him in the Step 3 intro. It's a black bracelet with a weave-like pattern that the MC can give to him if they chose to buy Cove a gift rather than give him something that couldn't be bought.
The only requirement necessary is that Cove has to have worn a bracelet of any kind during Step 2, meaning the shark tooth wrap bracelet on his right wrist, the pink beaded bracelet on his left wrist, or the brown and tan right wristband. The option won't appear among the potential bought gifts otherwise.
If your Step 3 Cove is already wearing a bracelet on his left wrist, he'll remove it to replace it with the one you bought for him, so don't do this if you like the one he's already wearing more.
And that's all! Whether you wanted to figure out how to make your ideal Cove look without the Cove Creator or were simply curious as to which Step 2 options affect his appearance, now you know!

zine review #1
Ada / @theowllien
Tumblr media
my first zine review post - read more ! 👇
starting longer, actually blog-like blog posts to talk about the zines i read! my plan is to do it for every new zine i acquire and have enough thoughts for a post about it, but i also plan to go back and do reviews of zines i've already read. i have 150+ zines in my collection so that might take a while 🫣 so i won't pressure myself to do all of them, of course. but there's some i'd like to share in particular. all love to the zines i won't share maybe i just don't have enough to say but i love them all
these posts will also have some ramblings so be prepared for that!! they'll be under #zine reviews on my blog
i'm starting with zines received in a recent zine trade with @theowlien 🌟
Ada sent me zines of different formats printed on white and green paper. I loooove a zine printed on colored paper it's fun and changes things up a bit
three of them are art zines with drawings and sketches, i love the frogs but maybe it's biased by liking colored paper zines because all of them are great. i like zines that are collections of illustrations and art, i want to make more of those myself so it's always inspiring to see someone else's.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i was also intrigued by their "annoying bottle caps" zine, about those bottle caps that stay attached to the bottle. it's supposed to prevent bottle caps from getting separated from the bottle and get lost in nature and injure animals that might eat them or something. but yeah I don't know how effective they are for that purpose and they make drinking a little awkward. one reason i do like them is at least i can't drop or misplace my bottle cap. great zine subject to ramble about
Tumblr media
also check out that cover!! the hand movement of opening a bottle cap is such an awkward thing to draw. i'm always so confused at drawing hands anyway, but this one in particular i wouldn't have attempted. and look how cool Ada made it :)
ok sidenote, mid-writing this i came home and poured some soy milk into my tea and. the new bottles have these caps. the old ones did not. NOOO
i really liked the mix of drawing and text in these next two zines specifically. not sure you can read the title of the boots one super well in the picture on mobile, it says "boots and why it's the only punk thing about me"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
first i was interested in the one about kokeshi dolls because i was quite into those when i was a kid and completely forgot about them! i think i first came across them when i won a book at a reading comprehension contest, and picked one about the dolls. i was quite interested in everything to do with japan (up until being a young teen). my older cousin was very into manga and drawing characters from anime and I started learning how to draw with her, although i had always been drawing, i gained more interest through that. so anything related to japan peaked my interest.
i found the book!!!!! it was this one
Tumblr media
i did go by yumi online + sign art with that name for a few years (i know, french white girl using a japanese name for no reason, classic, i was young yikes) but i can't remember if i was already doing that and that's why i was drawn to the book, or if i picked up the name from the book. anyway, i learned some japanese words from it and started drawing these dolls, and eventually was gifted one (from some mass produced trash store most likely).
kokeshi dolls were a bit of a lost memory so it was fun to read this zine :) i had actually never learned much about them at all as i had more of an aesthetic interested in them (and was a child) so i know a little more now
back to the zines - "boots and why it's the only punk thing about me" was a fun read too, it also reminded me of some memories. teenage years memories this time. i wanted to be edgy so bad but wasn't doing much that was defying the rules in any capacity. i got my first and only pair of dr martens boots when i was 13-14yo (i still have them today! over 10 years later. the soles are so thin i feel the gravel i step on so I can't stay they're in good shape, i very rarely wear them nowadays and have new boots). at the time i hated being a "girly girl" and felt socially pressured to wear dresses, but had a very hard time finding ones i was comfortable wearing. my compromise was to wear them with my boots, which luckily my mom supported and thought was really cool. Ada talks about wearing boots with a wedding dress, that was the idea for me then. and if i were to get married in a dress, i'd probably do it in boots. but i'm most likely wearing something closer to a suit if that ever happens anyway.
i liked all the drawings of boots, like this one on the cover is so cool
Tumblr media
i better learn how to draw boots this cool bc i'm going to be drawing people's outfits for a collaborative zine project, and it's about queer fashion so i know these people will all be wearing boots #not stereotyping my own at all
i think i'm starting to be actually a little more punk myself, aside from boots and all. well there's probably a lot i'm doing that would be considered punk depending on your definition but i'm actively trying to learn to break pointless rules. so that's something
Ada also sent me one last zine titled IZMA, which i'll make a separate post about; this is already quite long and i can't find the time to write more so i want to just post this and give it a dedicated post!
i really like zines that include sketches and drawings, receiving and reading those made me want to draw more in my next ones again. and maybe pick up more sketching in general, i'm starting to miss it.
thank you again for trading zines with me!!
you can find Ada here on tumblr and on ko-fi :) here's a carrd.co too

Obey Me! Characters and their Coffee (or Tea) Choices
Lucifer-
Dark roast black coffee or espresso.
Americano.
Likes it bitter and uncomfortably hot. Every morning.
Mammon-
Whatever coffee with 2 cream 2 sugar.
Latte if he's feelin' fancy.
Drinks it once in a while before school, if he was out late. Fine without it though.
Leviathan-
Literally more creamer than coffee, iced.
Not really a fan- prefers tea, the sweeter the better.
Needing coffee is such a normie thing.
Satan-
Medium or dark roast, black.
Sometimes a little sugar, no cream.
Mostly prefers tea.
Doesn't need it per se but drinks multiple cups of both tea and coffee daily.
Asmo-
Sweet and pretty.
Oat or soy milk. Low fat, half caf, sugar free queen… and usually iced or blended/frozen.
Likes drinks with designs. It's mostly for the aesthetic. If it can't be posted on his socials he doesn't want it.
Also loves herbal teas.
Beel-
Not one single fuck about coffee or tea. Willing to drink but no preference.
Belphie-
Black plus extra shots of espresso.
Does nothing for him, but dude tries sometimes anyway.
Diavolo-
Tea only.
Will occasionally sneak a coffee with Lucifer. In which case he likes it extra sweet.
A mocha boy.
Also gets excited about affogato.
Barbatos-
Tea. All the tea.
Simeon-
Light roast with a little milk or cream and a little sugar.
Only drinks it when up all night with writers block.
Likes relaxing herbal teas and matcha.
Luke-
Snuck some once. It's so gross, whyyyy why would you drink that??
Simeon makes him steamers sometimes so he feels included or hot cocoa.
Once in a while he'll have a tea with dessert.
Solomon-
Drinks only for efficiency. Practical teas with magic benefits or medicinal effects.
Rarely drinks coffee and on the rare occasion he feels he needs it, he has no preference- it's all unpleasant to him.

Stray Kids as Different Kinds of Shopaholics
Tumblr media
Pairing: OT8 x gn!reader Genre: headcanon, fluff, crack Warnings: none
Tumblr media
1. Bang Chan- The Idiot
You would think that Bang Chan would be the sensible one when it comes to shopping
This is false.
Unlike the other boys, he doesn’t really have super niche hobbies like art or dance, so he believes that he doesn’t need to spend so much money on such “unnecessary things”
He’ll even hoard coupons and try to use them, even though they expired months ago
But two seconds later, he’ll be whipping out his wallet to buy the most useless shit ever
He would 100% fall for stupid scams, like a self-stirring coffee mug or a “gravity-defying” umbrella hat
As long as they make “life more efficient”
But if you want to buy a book or socks or something, he’ll side eye you and scold you for buying dumb things, as if he just didn’t spend a fortune on an automatic shoe-tying machine
2. Lee Know- The Gordon Ramsay Wannabe
Now Minho is pretty wise with money, except when it comes to one thing
His kitchen
I can absolutely envision him wanting to have an immaculately stocked kitchen
After all, he likes to try making new and elaborate dishes, and he needs the tools for that
Minho will have no problem with buying the fanciest, most expensive supplies
He’ll have a bluetooth wireless cooking sensor to time his roasts from a distance, a soy milk maker, and that KitchenAid artisan mini stand mixer with the fancy beater
He’s so extra that he will even buy a juice extractor to facilitate his morning fix for green juice (gross)
Will get mad if you question his purchases.
3. Changbin- The Gym Bro
Every single exercise contraption known to man will go into his personal home gym
He needs fifty different kinds of weights,
Maybe even those arm exercise bands for when he’s “on a road trip”
Also spends a lot of money on nutrition
Like those organic seed packets or high-quality kale or something so he can make healthy stuff for himself
If you even open your mouth, he will immediately get defensive, explaining why each and every one of his purchases make sense and why you need them too to be healthy
4. Hyunjin- Ariana Grande
The “I want it, I got it” mentality
Going shopping with him has no budget. He hates that word
The kind of person who doesn’t bring a shopping list; he just strolls the aisles and buys anything he wants
Likes buying name brands: Gucci, Versace, Tom Ford, Chanel, and of course, Celine
Bougie bitch right here
LOVES jewelry and accessories even more than clothes; anything that glitters
Might ask you to go shopping with him sometimes just because he needs someone to help him hold all of his bags
Simply will ignore you if you ask him why he needs $5000 in new shirts when he’s already got a closet full at home
5. Han- The Real One
Surprisingly, Jisung would be one of the more practical shoppers
He has a normal budget that he follows religiously, because there’s only one thing that he really wants
Food.
Whenever he goes out, he absolutely must buy a drink. Probably boba, to sip on while walking or when sitting in the car
He’ll have “secret” hiding spots in his room for his snacks
Can’t cook so loves taking it as an excuse to always get food outside & he loves doing it with you
Loves ordering-in all kinds of meals as well, whether it’s pizza or butter chicken
Every morning, Jisung needs to buy his coffee at Starbucks and be all aesthetic, or else he can’t do his work
Pouts when you remind him that you literally have a coffee machine at home.
6. Felix- Santa Claus
Now Felix is also a little like Jisung, being a little more realistic
EXCEPT when it comes to his friends & family, especially you.
Will spoil you rotten will all sorts of gifts, from new clothes to perfume
And he insists on taking you on shopping sprees and showering you with new things you don’t really need
Receiving expensive chocolates imported from Paris or somewhere is a regular thing for you
And he’s even managed to get you a designer bag that even the richest people have to be on waiting lists for
Doesn’t get offended at all when you tell him that he needs to cut down on the spending; he’ll just cutely hold out a pretty dress for you to wear
And how can you refuse him?
7. Seungmin- The Mom
Doesn’t give a crap about being fashionable; definitely stingy when it comes to that
“But Seungmin, that hoodie is seven years old…” “Well it fits, so I can wear it.”
Will lecture people (Hyunjin) on their horrible spending habits
Meanwhile, he’d rather spend time in the cleaning sections
He’ll stock up on extra paper towels and wipes and other practical materials
The kind of shopper to absolutely ADORE sales, and will buy everything with a discount
Would buy snow gear in June just because it’s 5% off and will force you to try on a hideous sweater just because it’s in clearance or something
8. I.N.- The Guilty One
Can’t be trusted when given money to go shopping
You could give him your wallet to tell him to go buy milk and when he comes back, he’ll have his arms full of crap that you didn’t even mention
Is such a binge-shopper that he has no choice but to live simple
Because the moment he steps into Target or the mall or somewhere, it’s over.
You had to stop giving him your credit card and just hand him a limited wad of cash when you need him to run errands for you

Something Fancy 4/52
Continuing my New Year's Resolution to cook something fancy every week. I was planning to bake something for my book club meeting last night, but we're in the middle of a heat wave and it's way too hot for ovens. Instead I made myself a Strawberry-Mint Lassi.
Tumblr media
200g strawberries 1/2 cup plain yoghurt 1/4 cup soy milk 2 sprigs of fresh mint 1 Tbsp lime juice A pinch of salt
Then just put all of that in a blender.
This counts as fancy because of The Aesthetic (ignore how ominous the photo makes it look, it's pretty in real life). It's good! Not as magical as the lassi from Indian restaurants, but still nice, and very quick and easy to make.

Ada Hegerberg OLPLay Interview: "Lyon is my home" (April 17, 2024)
It was this or the OL Night Systems interview and unlike others I have a full time job that I'd really like to keep, so I chose to do the shorter one first.
Blah blah standard disclaimers apply; @OL Comms Dept what would I not do for an Earl Grey with soy milk? Not much; I'd say I hope the deranged lunatic who thinks I would EVER post on the godforsaken website that is the L Chat gets hit by a bus but that would require them to step outside so instead I just hope they drink expired milk so we can be on equal levels of disgust; banning stans from stadiums would solve so many problems; y'all know the speech by now.
♫ It's you and me, there's nothing like this, Miss Americana Olympique Lyonnais and the Heartbreak Prince ♫
I love how you can have a legitimate debate about this: did Ada Hegerberg mold Olympique Lyonnais into her own image? Or did Lyon recruit her because they saw themselves in her? Like yeah you can totally say I romanticize this team and you're not wrong, you're really not. But holy shit do I love a good love story, especially if it started in the rain.
For the sake of aesthetics, if a Hegerberg quote is in italics, that means it's a flashback quote. Present day quotes are in normal font. Brackets is my own commentary. Y'all can just deal.
ADA HEGERBERG OLPLAY INTERVIEW
[OLD FOOTAGE - SUMMER 2014 - HEGERBERG SIGNS WITH OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS]
Hegerberg: I have learnt some French words. "ça vas, ça vas bien" (it's good, it's going well).
Hegerberg: I think it's an amazing chance to play with some amazing players. The club has high ambitions and I think it's my personal ambitions as well.
[PRESENT DAY]
[HEGERBERG LAUGHS]
Hegerberg: Oh, I was so young. Just a young girl, really. I remember so well when I came to Lyon. It was a magical summer, first of all. I landed at the airport, there was Isabelle Dias who came to get me, she was in high heels, super fashionable. She looked so French. No, it's magical to see this footage because I had this innocence but you could see I was also starstruck but had a lot of ambition. Honestly, I had such high hopes. I felt at home from the very first day. And - [Hegerberg laughs] I was so young. I was a little girl, and I became a woman.
[2014 - 2015 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS FOOTAGE]
Hegerberg: It was my first trophy with the club. From the very first season, I think I was so well integrated within the team. There are really some real characters within the team. I would say wee had a game plan which was so well prepared. From that point I was already developing as a player at a level that I wanted. That team was magical. There were some really good players.
Hegerberg: The first year at Lyon, it was considered a failure because we didn't go all the way in the UWCL. But we still were perfect in the [French] league. I think that since the first day, I've really worked hard to be a part of the team and it's worked out really well since then.
Hegerberg: Honestly I think it was a pleasure to come into this team because I remember I came with my little book of French words. So I really wanted to learn French pretty quickly because I knew the importance of integrating well within a team in order to perform well, in order to get along well with the team, the town, the country. I think you learn things when you talk about your country. I went to Germany when I was very young, and then I came to Olympique Lyonnais and France. You need to know how to keep the balance between adapting but also keep your own culture, your own [moral] values. But you still have to adapt. So it's a really great experience. But it's true that Camille [Abily], she came to get me. I was in a tiny, tiny apartment when I first came to Lyon. Even if I was in a really, really tiny apartment, I was living my best life. I had great players like Camille, she came to get me every day to take me to the training grounds. I was starstruck. So they were a really, really good group who knew how to put in place an integration which was really top, I think.
[2015 - 2016 UWCL FINAL FOOTAGE]
Hegerberg: It's true that the first final that you win, it's special because it's the first one. So many things happened in that game. First of all I think we played at a really high level throughout the season. The first goal was really magnificent. It was started with a great move from Pauline Bremer. And it's true that I missed my first penalty. That was also my mentality when I was young, I didn't doubt myself. So when it was time for the penalty shootout, of course I was like "obviously I want to take the first one!" That was classic me at the time. No fear of consequences. And I think that's what allowed me to not have any limits, to achieve great things in my career. But it's true you're quite innocent, you're a bit naive in a way when you're younger. I remember those sensations. The players were telling me "don't worry, Ada. We're going to do it. Even if your penalty was saved, we're going to do it." I felt that mentality around me. And we did it. And I remember Lotta, Lotta Schelin, she was telling me "don't worry. Don't worry, we're going to do it." And she was right.
Hegerberg: It was a dream. I knew it would be hard to win. And it was really hard. The feeling of winning - first of all winning the UWCL, I couldn't even begin to imagine what we would go on to do. But it's an exceptional feeling. You start to understand the importance with time, because when you're young, you have a lot of hunger, you want to quickly throw yourself into the next one. So you think differently. But as the years went by I learnt the importance of having a trophy like that, know the work which goes into it. Winning the UWCL five years in a row, you need something exceptional. But winning the first one, that's something I'll never forget because it really set the basis for all the work behind the scenes. I've never stopped since. I remember that it gave me an enormous desire to continue. And I think you can say it's also the image of the team, because I think it would have been impossible to win so many years in a row if there wasn't that collective desire to win.
Hegerberg: I understood pretty quickly that it was an exceptional team with world class players. You had different cultures from different nationalities which gave an advantage with a French core, you could say. Having all those different cultures, I think that's what really shaped the team. I'm also proud to have come when I was so young and to have been part of a such a grandiose history, and to feel that my contributions were on par with our success.
[2018 BALLON D'OR CEREMONY FOOTAGE]
Hegerberg: A big moment, a big moment for me personally but also for the club, the team. It rewards the work of a whole team. It's impossible to win the Ballon d'Or without having a team which shines. I think we had fantastic seasons which allowed me to win a Ballon d'Or. I think that the players know as well that it's thanks to the work of a whole team which allowed me to win the first Ballon d'Or.
Hegerberg: I remember at the time that I knew a few weeks beforehand. I was asking myself a ton of questions, "what do you even say on stage when you win the Ballon d'Or?" But it's true that even being a female athlete today, to be a woman in sports, it poses different challenges on several levels. [Female] football players are faced with challenges which aren't only on the field. And it requires a lot of courage to overcome those challenges as I call them so that the sport always goes in the right direction. You need to always be there to say "hey, hey, hey. Are the right decisions being made so that the next generation has their place in sports, in football?" I would say fortunately and unfortunately it's also our responsibility today to do in sort that we leave the sport in better conditions than when we found it in. You need women, you need girls who start to take up space and who believe in themselves even, who want to succeed, who really want to work hard to take our place one day, because we're not going to be here [in sports] our whole lives, even if I would like that to be the case. So it was for them, it was for the new generation, for everyone who was watching. It was for everyone.
Hegerberg: It's impossible to succeed without knowing your own qualities and to get better. Confidence in yourself is fundamental to succeed in life. To find that [self] confidence you also have to know what you do well, what your qualities are. And do the work. Before anything else put in the work. Success doesn't happen by itself.
[2019 UWCL FINAL FOOTAGE]
Hegerberg: I'm getting goosebumps. To score a hat trick in a UWCL final, honestly, it's one of the craziest moments in my life, in my career. It's something - It's - I can't describe it because it's - it's such an important game. You see the first goal, it's something that I have worked with with my father since I was very young. We did it over and over and over again. Sprint, maintain your speed at the same time as you control the ball well, which stays close to your feet so you can quickly get the shot off. We did that over and over again for years. So to manage to do that in a UWCL final and score a hat trick, it's, it's something incredible.
Hegerberg: In fact, in that period where we were dominating the Champions League, we were winning year after year after year. All the work we had to put into it, all the talent, team spirit, it's very, very rare, very special. I would almost say it's not talked about enough. [Hegerberg laughs] But that's sports as well. We quickly move on to the next thing. But what was done there, it was historical. From time to time, when we're in the off-season or in season, I watch those games because it brings something out in me, it gives me something for the future.
Hegerberg: I think my father was exceptional in the manner he observed the technical side. As time went by we got to understand each other. We always had one-hour sessions because we knew you needed an hour to really maintain your highest standards. If we went above one hour we would really work on the technical details but the quality would drop a little. So we stuck with that one hour session working on technique. And we repeated that all the time, even when I had Christmas break or summer break. Even when I came to Lyon, we still continued to work on it. And it's those small details that have allowed me to develop [as a player], and always see what the areas of improvement are in my game. And when I look back today at the goals I've scored, there are details that I've been working on with my dad since I was super young. He really gave me an advantage in my career. It's incredible.
[HEGERBERG'S FIRST LONGTERM INJURY -DEC 2019 - SEPT 2021]
[Rehab footage]
Hegerberg: I think that everyone goes through a difficult period in their career. You always hear the phrase "it's part of being a professional athlete, getting injured." Unfortunately. For me, I pretty much had an entire career with no injuries. So then I had a serious knee injury and then a stress fracture in the tibia, which was very difficult to manage. There was absolutely no knowledge of women's bodies in female sports. I came to the realization there was very little competence around women's health in general, in their bodies, especially in sports. I look back on that period with a lot of pride because I had to dig so, so deep to come back. I really proved that I was still a top player. You needed to have a lot of courage, good people around you. It never would have been possible without my family, without my husband. My husband was exceptional. My agents. My friends. Without them it wouldn't have been possible.
Hegerberg: I always believed that I would come back. It's pretty crazy, because there were so many low moments. But I knew how to bounce back, with a lot of hard work and determination. I'm not a really patient person. I'm very impatient. But I learnt things about my mentality and my body that I definitely use today. It's a period I would have liked to avoid but at the time it taught me things I never would have learnt otherwise.
Hegerberg: First of all injuries aren't easy. But first I was unlucky with the injury that I had. But I was very, very fortunate to have met the right medical staff at the right time, who you could say pulled me out of that hell. What I'm capable of doing today, I'm really proud because I know how far I've come. To have the courage and discipline to return to the top level, it's almost better than a trophy. Almost. Because it's behind me now. Mentally I'm in a really good place. I want to play my best football in the years to come. And I hope that will be the case.
[HEGERBERG'S FIRST GAME BACK FROM INJURY - OCT 5, 2021]
[Game footage]
[HEGERBERG'S FIRST GOAL SINCE RETURNING FROM INJURY - NOVEMBER 2021]
[Game footage against PSG, Lyon 6-1 PSG]
[Hegerberg thinks about smiling]
Hegerberg: It's nice. You could say I spent a lot of time visualizing it while I was out [injured] to be prepared for those moments. And you could say I had been waiting for that moment for a long time. I love everyone's reaction. I love Griedge [MBock]'s reaction as well because it's true that we came back - the two of us came back from serious injuries. And we showed everyone we were able to return to the top level even if - even if you had something serious. So it's really nice.
[OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS - BARCELONA 2022 UWCL FINAL]
[Game footage]
Hegerberg: Yes, it's incredible. It's difficult for me to describe tonight.
[present day: Hegerberg laughs hysterically]
Hegerberg: I have to give a shoutout to Griedge [MBock] as well. What we went through was every athlete's nightmare.
[present day: Hegerberg is still losing it]
Hegerberg: Don't you realize it? It's the eight Champions League trophy for the club. I keep saying this, but the president, what he's done for us, for football in general, I don't have any words. I have so much respect [for him]. [The trophy] is coming home, it's deserved.
[Present day: is Hegerberg still losing it? Answer: yes]
[2021 - 2022 LEAGUE TROPHY CEREMONY]
[Trophy ceremony footage]
Hegerberg: [into a microphone] Where is the Champagne? Where is it? Where is the Champagne?? We need the Champagne.
[Present day: Hegerberg loses it]
Hegerberg: And it's true that that night [of the UWCL final], it was total euphoria. I think it was one of the biggest nights in women's football because it was such a good final, the intensity, I've never experienced intensity like that. There was a sold-out stadium with a lot of fans, a lot of Barcelona supporters. There was a lot of - you can say there some misspoken statements before the final [cf: Caroline Graham Hansen, cf: general WoSo media] but us as players we're focused on what happens on the pitch. That's not a problem. But I think there were a lot of people who, before this game, forgot everything this club has accomplished. And what was nice was that were prepared for it. We knew what our qualities were before the game. But I think a reminder of who we are was necessary. Coming back in my first season post-injury and winning the UWCL, it's really touching. I had forgotten, it was almost psychological, and to have been rewarded with that trophy, it's - it's magical. It's one of the best experiences I've ever had.
Hegerberg: What we showed that day, it's unforgettable. It's an exceptional team. And [Hegerberg laughs] what a game. Honestly, what a final. I feel those emotions all over again when I rewatch the game. I think - Wendie [Renard] won't like this - I think I've watched the game 12 times. It's a really high level game. I think - when I say the intensity, the technical level, the quality you have on the field, the stakes which were at play. The stakes were - wow. And also to come back and prove that we were the best team in Europe. That's not done singlehandedly. There's a lot of work which goes into it. When I watch the film, I also see all the suffering behind the scenes and what we had to go through to get there.
Hegerberg: I was really emotional as well because at one point I saw Jean-Michel Aulas in the stands, our president for so many years. I wouldn't be where I am today without him. Thanks to him we were able to build a team which was without a doubt the best team in the world for so long. Personally I will never forget the chance he took on me, to have me play here for so long. He was a big, big figure in my career. I will never forget him. [Hegerberg tears up a little] I'd like to thank him because it was an unforgettable period. So I'd like to say a big thank you to Jean-Michel Aulas for my adventures, which has been going on for 10 years now.
[CONTRACT EXTENSION]
[Contract extension footage]
Hegerberg: Lyon is my home. I had to stay. It was in my head since the beginning. I said to my husband "I don't see myself anywhere else." It's true that it was the first time since I've been at Lyon that it took - it took a bit longer. But since the beginning I've always seen myself at Lyon. It's my town, it's my home.
Hegerberg: It's a new era with a real bad-ass woman, I would say. Michele Kang is very ambitious. I'd like to thank her as well for believing in me. You can feel that she's a very ambitious woman who wants to bring something more, who wants to change the dynamic a little bit in football in general, and who really wants to be at the top with this team. You need someone who is ambitious, who projects discipline, ambitions, investment - especially investment - in the ranks, and that that transmits to the team as well.
Hegerberg: I think there are things we have to go get. We still have some nice trophies to go win. We have a lot of potential. I want to continue playing my best football here.
Hegerberg: I came here as a young girl and I became a woman here. Lyon will always be my home even after my career ends. And here I am very, very happy to stay here another three years and to work hard to win several more trophies, UWCL, league. All the trophies possible. Because we have to go get them now. You have to give everything, and I'm ready to give everything for another three years for my club.

Something that marks a movie as very good is such consistent attention to background detail that you can start spinning side stories for the most minor of characters.
Watching “The Santa Clause” this morning.
Do you remember soy milk girl?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just from the 2 tiny scene with her, I know she is from a mid-low income family, and she has a loving grandmother (possible lives with her).
How do I know this?
There are crocheted throw blankets over the chairs, and lace doilies everywhere. She sleeps with a colorful but well loved quilt. Most telling is her nightgown.
As a child I thought that nightgown was so fancy. As an adult who has made clothes I realize that is the point. It’s a very simple pull tie neck and sleeves that make it look puffy and full, then some thicker sturdy lace across the top- probably easier to make than the doilies on her tables. It looks and feels fancy to a little girl, but was likely made from cheaper material from the fabric store over a couple days.
This girl is well loved by her granny who makes a lot of stuff in that room- either little girl is visiting for Christmas or lives with Granny. In fact, I could see the lower income feel of the house with fancy tree being because parents are out of the picture, and little girl and Granny live on Granny’s pension, but she also is thrifty and has saved all her tree decorations for years. 🎄
And now I have an image of Grandmother picking out soy milk at the store to help put her grandchild at ease. Maybe even the discussion in the kitchen while making Christmas cookies- “What’s Lactose intolerant?” “Does that mean Santa can’t have milk?” “What CAN he have?” And this sweet old lady patiently answering all her questions as they decorate and problem solving it with her.
All of this, because someone coordinated the set dressing with the costume department, and they decided to set an aesthetic- nay, tell a little story inside a 2 min scene.
That is but one example from this film- there is so much going on.
Much love to the background designers and storytellers who worked on “The Santa Clause.”

She has the standard abilities of a goddess. As the goddess of iconography & literature her other powers/abilities include teleportation (through books), melanokinesis (ink manipulation), papyrokinesis (paper manipulation), being able to telekinetically control bookshelves, calligraphy mastery, lexiconicy, storybook mimicry, and bibliokinesis (literary manipulation).
Her natural scent is that of freshly printed paper.
She's fluent in Old Greek, Latin, French, & Minoan.
Other members of her immediate family include her father Logos (god of stories). They have a great working & personal relationship. She's even an executive producer on her father's educational children's television show Metaxý ton Selídon. There's also her uncle Pseudologos (god of lies) who she's not close with as well as her cousin Dolos (god of deception & treachery) who's the father of Pheme (goddess of fame).
Eikono lives on the top floor of The Khrysóthronos Building, a luxury apartment building in the Queenstown neighborhood of New Olympus. The main wide window of the sitting room overlooks Eaglepoint Park. The interior design of her apartment is very chic & minimalist with colors of cream, ivory, lavender, and beige. Her personal library room is immaculately & meticulously organized. Several works of arts and sculptures are found throughout the place. She has a few pet cats & their names are Guinevere, Adelaide, Blair, Cosette, Eloise, and Vivienne.
Eikono usually gets around the city by walking, public transportation, or riding her bike.
She holds the few remaining copies of books from the days of the Titanomachy very dear to her heart. The texts are in Old Greek & to maintain their pristine condition, she keeps them locked away in a cool safe.
Eikono also has a collection of antique typewriters!
A common breakfast for her is a bowl of Earthly Harvest vanilla almond cereal with soy milk. She also likes whole wheat banana pancakes, zucchini hash browns, & various overnight oats (her personal favorite being the apple cinnamon).
There's always a book or two in her bag (if they can fit)!
Eikono was responsible for designing the flags of the respective realms. It was a cathartic moment when she watched the predecessor's flag (Titanius) burn to ashes. The flags of the realms are iconic in their own right! Olympius' flag is an eagle against a gold field holding an olive branch and lightning bolt in each of its talons. The flag of the Underwater realm is that of a hippocampus against a royal blue field with the royal crest in the background. The flag of the Underworld is that of a silver Cerberus against a black field while the flag of the Freshwater Territories is that of a leaping silver trout against a pastel blue field with a wispy cloud above it.
A go-to drink for her is homemade lemon infused water. She also likes ginger ale, lemon-lime soda, peppermint tea, white wine, soy milk, pineapple juice, & sugar cookie milkshakes from The Frozen Spoon. She also likes the cafe au lait, vanilla hazlenut latte, olympian sized flat whites, and small pear banana splashes from The Roasted Bean.
Though Eikono loves all formats of books, her personal preference are hardcovers, for aesthetic reasons.
She has a following on social media. On her PanopTube channel she posts videos of book reviews, author interviews, & book hauls. Her bookshelf tour video has four million views!
Eikono has quite a few jobs/businesses. She oversees the New Olympus Public Library downtown, has a publishing company (Inkdrop Press), bookstores (Pterýgio & Kýlisi), a book subscription box service (Page Turners), as well as being an acclaimed writer! She has written many books in a variety of genres geared towards children & adults. She also has an official website where she sells decorative bookmarks! For other means of income Eikono models for/endorses Threads of Wisdom, White Lily Gallery, and Olive Visibly.
She loves the roast chicken sandwich (on ciabatta bread) from The Bread Box.
A guilty pleasure for her are rainbow sushi rolls!
In the pantheon Eikono's good friends with Dimósia (goddess of debate), Litismós (goddess of culture), Pathos (god of emotion), Apheleia (goddess of simplicity), Neicus (god of debate & appeal), Mousika (goddess of studying & music), Favian (god of philosophy), Eusebeia (goddess of piety, loyalty, duty, & filial respect), Porus (god of resourcefulness), Aeschyne (goddess of modesty & honor), Penia (goddess of poverty), Pistis (goddess of trust, reliability, & good faith), Soteria (goddess of safety), Elpis (goddess of hope); her cousin's wife, Praxidike (goddess of judicial punishment), Nomos (god of laws), Mnemosyne (Titaness of memory & language), Ptocheia (goddess of beggary), Themis (Titaness of justice), Aletheia (goddess of truth), and Hestia (goddess of the hearth).
She also admires the work of Athena (goddess of wisdom).
An odd treat that Eikono likes is the buttered popcorn flavored saltwater taffy. She gets a box of them once a month at Confection Carousel, the candy shop owned by Záchari (god of confectionery).
She hosts annual book drives on the steps of the library every year.
For her birthday her girlfriend got her the book stack shaped jeweled Diamond Ave. clutch.
She's currently in a relationship with Sophia (goddess of thought). It was said that Eikono was attracted to her brain before anything else. They've been dating for a few months & they both feel really comfortable with each other. She enjoys the many intellectual discussions they have and they way her heart flutters every time Sophia laughs. They sometimes spend the night at each other's place (Sophia is only a thirty minute cab ride away in the Little Athens neighborhood). They're currently planning a month long vacation to Olympia.
Her favorite desserts are the poppy seed cupcakes and kariokes from Hollyhock's Bakery.
She once donated two million drachmas to a small public school in Ithaca whose library was destroyed in a flash flood.
A couple of years ago at the Olympian Gala (there was no set theme), Eikono showed up in a custom made gown known as the "La Bibliotheque" dress. The dress had a full skirt, a mixture of leather & old paper, skillfully intertwined with tulle, rattan, and lace. The spines of old books were used to craft the corset- the complete process taking almost 250 hours! Her short light blonde hair was in a low tight chignon.
Her all time favorite meal is garlic ginger chicken with white rice. She's also a huge fan of Sophia's macaroni salad.
In her free time Eikono prefers reading to watching TV. She also loves working on her writing (while classical music is playing in the background). Outside she enjoys jogging, bike riding, going to museums, football (soccer), and horseback riding.
"Books are the mirrors to the soul."
