Could I have Halsin x afab!enby!reader smut with some breeding kink, please?
notes: darling you're so polite when you request smut, like you're ordering from a menu of course you can 😌
rating: E. This is filthy. Minors dni
pairing: halsin x reader
words: <1k
It feels like every aspect of your existence has been narrowed down to this point - here, now, speared on your druid’s cock.
Halsin is an attentive lover; he fucks you like it is his duty. You’re laid out on your back beneath him, candyfloss-brained and pliable like clay, every aspect of you his. He unmakes you with his touch, brings you to ecstasy over and over, content just to watch your pleasure - he told you once that you were nature’s most exquisite sight and, given the way he’s staring down at you now with pupils so wide that his irises are obscured, you might just be able to believe it.
“Ahh… Halsin…” you manage, pawing up at his thick chest with boneless fingers. He takes your hand in a firm, sweet embrace, raising it so he can kiss you on your wrist, your palm, your knuckles.
“My love. Perfect. I want you in every possible way.”
His eyes flash with a devilish delight, and in that moment you know what he’d ask of you. It’s something which you freely give.
“Halsin… put a baby in me…” you sigh, linking your ankles at the small of his back to drive his cock even deeper into you. He is thick, wonderfully so, and long too - he reaches further inside of you than anyone ever has before. You are full to the brim with Halsin, Halsin, Halsin; the warm rub of him driving you wild.
But you want to be overflowing.
When he hears those words stumble from your lips his thrusting goes erratic for a beat, you can feel him throb. He makes a low, bestial growl in the back of his throat. A primal noise, possessive.
“Hmm… If you ask me to do that, I will be unable to stop having you until I’m certain that you’re pregnant. I can barely keep my hands off of you anyway. but if you want me to give you a child you… there is a chance you won’t leave our bed until I can see how round you are.”
You moan at the idea of him keeping you in one place and pumping you so full of spend that your puffy hole is constantly dripping with it. That he has to bring you food and water to keep you contented because you’re so cock-drunk that you can’t move. No room for thoughts. Just open legs and willing cunt until you can feel your womb quicken with him.
“Do it, Halsin, fuck. Mark me as yours. Show the world who shares my bed every night. I want everyone to look at me and know what you’ve done…”
Another growl, this one louder, and marked with the snapping of his hips forward into you. The sounds of wetness coming from your coupling are lewd and gorgeous as he pounds into you over and over. You don’t think that you’ve ever been this wet.
His hand spreads out across the expanse of your stomach, warmth from his skin seeping into you. It is as if he is picturing his seed taking root inside of you. You are ripe, willing, and desperate for it, for him, and he is vicious about the idea of you swelling with a cub he breeds into you.
Hips move faster. You’re going to finish. He’s going to finish, and as the head of his cock bounces into the sweet spot against your walls you feel him come harder than he’s ever done before - he lets out a bitten-off roar as he spills, filling you over and over with his hot jets. As the inside of your cunt is coated you follow him over the precipice and experience an orgasm so intense that it feels as if your soul has left your body for a moment - but Halsin brings you back with a fierce kiss.
He continues to ride out his release inside of you, tender little rolls of his hips until he begins to soften. Even then he remains inside of you, connected in the most intimate of embraces, forehead resting against yours as the two of you breathe the same air.
“Gods,” you manage eventually, and Halsin laughs, low and gravelly.
“Oak Father preserve us all. You will be the end of me, you know.”
“Yes, and won’t it be fun?” you say with a cheeky grin. He groans.
“I don’t know if my old bones can take it.”
“Well, I believe in you. Fancy trying again? I want you to make good on your promise, you know, and the more we try the better our odds are…”
He lets out another low noise, and with glee you feel him harden again.

Meeting Pastry Chef Luca from The Bear For the First Time Headcanon
a/n: inspired by @superhoeva, i thought i'd take a crack at writing a chef luca headcanon because we're all dying rn for will poulter as a sticker-sleeve tattooed chef. would anyone read this as a fic?? let me know.
edit: (7/3/23) i turned this into a fic called 'burn your life down.' feel free to read if you'd like!
you own a small restaurant in copenhagen. it's only been open for a year (this could potentially change if i write said fic). it's nothing fancy, but the food has soul. the food is an extension of yourself -- it tells the story of you.
inspired by noma, you grow some of your own produce outside of the restaurant in raised garden beds.
you begin to notice (as it's an open kitchen) and a smaller spot, that a tall, blonde brit has become one of your regulars. he comes in the same day each week at the same time. he always looks tired, like he's unwinding from a long day's worth of hard work, but he's always kind to your staff, and he has a quiet, powerful confidence to him.
week after week, he's there. he always orders one dish and one glass of wine, before paying the bill and leaving for the evening without a word.
your staff speculate about him: who is he, what must he do, that he's so handsome that he must have a partner. you don't pay much attention to the gossip, but it's hard not to notice that it's become part of his routine.
he always orders something different -- eager to try any new kind of special that you have on the menu that day.
it's not till one slower night of service that you finally meet him. you're short staffed that night and so you end up running plates out to tables -- finding it a great opportunity to connect more with your diners on a personal level. it's a very american hospitality concept, but since you have the time, you figure, why not?
he comes in at his usual time on sunday evening and you're curious to learn more about your weekly diner. you introduce yourself after walking his plate out and he's surprised that it's you who's serving him this evening.
"you're the chef?" he asks. "yes." "i can't think of the last time i saw a head chef work front of house..." he shakes his head in disbelief. "we're a little short staffed tonight." he seems impressed, raising his glass of wine to you. "cheers."
at the end of dinner service, one of your servers hands you a handwritten note that luca's left for you, inviting you to the restaurant he works at. the note reads: "thank you for all of the great meals. i'd like to return the favor, that is, if you're open to it," followed by a time, a date for tomorrow, and an address.
as soon as you realize which restaurant it is (much fancier, michelin starred, held in high regard) you only panic a little, but decide to go anyways. since both of your restaurants are closed on monday, you're even more nervous about the fact that you're meeting him at his tonight, while it's closed, considering you've barely had a conversation with him and how intimidating of a reputation the restaurant has.
he greets you at the door, right on time, and he leads you past the closed dining room, back to the kitchen where he's created a few dishes for you to try: two from his regular menu and one inspired by a dish of yours he's had.
"all of this... you did all of this for me... why?" you muster up the courage to ask. "your food is inspired and i don't think i've had something this inspired in a long time. and as chefs, this is what we do. we feed each other." and it's the beginning of, you're not quite sure what, but whatever it is, you're glad he walked into your restaurant however many weeks ago.

Syd x Carmy: The creation of Eros
This is the great gift of eros: through your own creative ordeal, you are given the ability to relate with others’ secret heart -x.
I'm really inspired by the chaos the show creates.
There's also something incredibly sexy about the syd and carmy ship. Since chefs are known for their passionate nature. It's erotic that two lonely souls who don't know how to connect really outside their field, finding each other in this environment of disarray and create something meaningful together. Because eros is the son of chaos in Greek mythology.
It's Syd and Carmy connecting through their senses that's also erotic. It's the two of them being present in their act of creation. It's fire.
All that being said…
I hope to see moments of intimacy through food, interchanges of love scenes with cooking. I want to see them laughing and really exploring each other as they would the menu. I want to see Carmy and syd share dialogue that interchanges with their act of cooking and intimacy.
I want to see hands.
Give me a well lit cinemotography like the table scene. Sunlight, romantic lighting, a good background song.
Give me the ballad version of 'last train home' a call back to the first season episode .
I want full-on connection when this ship becomes cannon. I want the art of creating eros.

A couple of days ago I finished reading Dungeon Meshi, so this post has the objective of offering a general review of my experience and opinions of the manga. I will try to avoid doing an in-depth analysis (gonna fail anyways ik myself) from the perspective of someone who have been observing the fandom from a backseat and does not intent to participe in it much (I've learned my lesson). Even though I couldn't resist spoilers during the time I planned to read it, I loved it! and it frustrates me a bit the idea that maybe I'd have enjoyed it more going full blind, but it is impossible to resist the online osmosis of information esp when its anime aired.
This manga has its story and characters clear, its writing is straight to the point, precise and clever, it trusts and respects the inteligence and feelings of its readers, giving us the essential utensils and ingredients to allow us cook our experience, and to continue cooking and eating for those who want to continue enjoying this rich story. The main dish, the essential theme is to butcher the multifaceted concept of eating. Through its volumes, one gets to discover and savor, in a divine comedy/hero's journey-descent from the circles of hell type of story, the owning of the ultimate primitive truth: the inherent and unstopable need to eat, the principle on which life is sustained, the element of addiction and connection.
I loved how dungeon meshi touches on complex conflicts related to the interpretations that can be given to its premise: devouring as a metaphor for oppression and destruction of rights between races, as can be seen in the subtle yet constant racial clash between long-lived and short-lived races. Eat also stands for desecration and usurpation of the self, embodied in the winged lion nurturing, creating emotionally dependent channels of power with the lords of the dungeons climaxing in the transgression and vore of their desires, the consummation of their intrinsic life essence, can't help thinking of it as groom and SA metaphors. We can also elevate our heads to christianity and eating becomes the way of in which humanity "devour god" and proclaims its death and independence from his unconditional goodness, crowning their place at the top of the food chain, in how Laios eats the winged lion’s desires and brings humanity back to the finite. Every living being yearns for the infinite, the dissolution of uncertainty and resentments through the promise of ethernal fullfilment. But eating, or rather, the deprivation of food, its absence as a symbol of slavery in Thistle, who had to intoxicate his soul and his people for a love that has already withered and rotted centuries ago, constipation of the innate desire to want something more, for the sake of someone's else wants, Delgal and his fear of dying.
But not everything can be catastrophic, on the act of destruction is the rejoice of creation. Eating calls for the act of cooking and connection, acceptance, as Falin, Marcille and Izutsumi accepted that to live they must continue accepting the unpleasant things on the menu, added pain and suffering, is on us if we want to swallow these sour diches in orden to appreciate its miracles. It's also about reconnecting with desire and living selfishly, for the ones who live for others or for a cause, thus reclaiming their humanity and inherit right to wish for more, like Kabru, the survivor's guilt character, making his first selfish act confessing his desire for friendship to Laios, or Mithrun, who like leftovers from a buffet in which him wasn't "appetizing" enough, compotes can still grow under care and compassion and reborn, your new life starts here. In Dungeon Meshi, cooking is sharing love, caring for others and pass on our work and wishes for those in need and cherish, like Marcille feeding a comatose Falin, Senshi to his teammates and the orcs, and Chilchuck and his union. The one who is able to provide and care, is the one who deserves to stand at the top, and that's why Laios' conclusion is beautiful writing. Even though he did indeed have to sacrifice in order to gain, had let go of his dream of a kingdom where humans and monsters could live in harmony (and the monstrosity of his new body), he created a kingdom where every human and demi-human is assured their right to have a plate on their table everyday, because eating is the privilege of the living, and in order to live we must eat. Because more than food, it's the will, the desire to eat when we don't want to, to live even if we are troubled to, whoever wants to survive will do so, because hopes and desires don't die. And as long as your desires exist, there'll be a will that remains in the world and continues to feed it.
Every character in this story (including secondary and tertiary extras) share an inherent desire to continue existing, to take and claim the selfish act of consuming. I mentioned addiction earlier, because it also struck by what it means to consume when there's no need, gluttony, reflected in the winged lion's path to humanization, which makes him quite a tragic character to me. A ilimitless entity dedicated to nurturing and fulfilling humanity's dreams for millennia, he approached and mimicked humankind and consumed desires until he created his own: to fulfill them and be his own master, he decided to subjugate himself descending to earth, to the rules of biology and abandon infinity. In parallel to Laios, who desired monstrosity and sacrificed his humanity, as if it made any difference, he choose the most fitting form for a man who failed to belong, the pain of betrayal of have desired to connect with his species, is one of the most memorable moments in my reading to see the embryo of his monster emerge from his back like a shell or butterfly coming out of its cocoon, a macabre rebirth. However, the winged lion failed to understand humanity, he failed to understand Laios, he underestimated their cruelty and desire for self-destruction "they'd be happy as long as they had their stomachs full" seen in his flashback, and failed (or manipulated Laios into believing so) to understand his kindness. Every meal, every step and bitterness Laios went through, he always tried to understand the unknown, his enemy, he respected his prey and all those who helped him on his way. He respected Thistle's wishes to the end, he accepted that his menu would not be to everyone's liking (Marcille, Kabru) and admired deeply their determination to help him finish their portion, that it's possible to be accepted, even him. Laios loves monsters but he also wants his love for humanity to be mutual: if he wished for the extermination of humanity, why would he want to create a kingdom where everyone can share the meals they like with the people they love? it's a fascinating dichotomy.
Among the things that I "didn't like" or rather say, my personal preferences, are the vast extra content this story has that, at least some of it? could have perfectly been included in the main story. I have read some extras and fun facts of some characters and I think if there were included in the main plot (making sense with the timeline ofc), would have enriched the experience more. Such as Kabru's complex of believing he's half monster/succubus and the fact this belief made a butterfly effect in dragging his mother to Utaya and she dying later. I would have loved to have an entire chapter dedicated to Utaya's tragedy from Kabru or Milsiril's pov, or Mithrun pre and post Lord of the Dungeon days, getting to know more about the cannaries and such. Nonetheless, I am still satisfied with what we got. I'm more than happy to see that Mithrun, Falin and Kabru meet their conclusion with a beginning of a new life ahead.
To grap up this all, (excuse the messiness of this lol but I wanted to write this in the most sincere way!!) I loved this story and I'm currently obsessed with these people, it's been a while since I felt an entire cast like this. it's great and a treat for anyone who likes to read with their mind and heart open, or to just have fun with a dynamic cast, exciting plot twists and rich world-building and a bittersweet but well-deserved ending. This could have been such a more darker story (i'd fw it too) but I'm possitively surprised and glad it maintained it's tone to the end. It makes everything more unique and loyal to its theme of cooking=bonds/nurturing/love. It makes me immensely content to leave this story with the promise of them growing old together like a family. Senshi, Chilchuck, Izutsumi and friends keeping at close, Falin, Marcille, Kabru and Yaad helping Laios in his new life as king of Melini. He will never feel lost or alone again.
#top 5 obv in no particular order: laios mithrun marcille kabru thistle#thistle reminds me of ymir fritz aah#smth that i didn't mention is that i love how dm use foreshadowing. marcille's nightmare=her becoming the next lord of the dungeon#and laios' succubus+WL dream=marcille trying to convice laios to join her as a medium for the WL through his desire of monsterhood#have read the last page with nope by michael abels ost made me tear up likeeeeee#dungeon meshi#delicious in dungeon#reading#long post#sorry in advance if my wording is all over the place translating is exhausting

i love your p1harmony writing! could you do first dates with the members?
┊ ˚➶ 。˚ ☁️ p1harmony | more here!
synopsis — first dates with p1harmony.
author's note — n/a.
wc > 1.070k , genre : fluff , gn!reader – fem!reader for theo
⊹ keeho
doesn't act like it, but he's really nervous
he hasn't been on many dates and he just wants to make a good impression
his leader mode is an instinct and he ends up ordering for you
"i could've ordered myself," you smile towards him, handing the waitress your menu
"oh–right. sorry, i'm so used to ordering for the guys," he laughs awkwardly
you both talk a lot about your hometowns. since both of you are foreigners, you connect with the feeling of being away from home
shopping was the next thing y'all did after y'all finished eating, and he spoiled you to the max
anything you wanted, he bought it for you—even if you could afford it, he was buying it
by the end of the date, you and keeho had matching outfits and matching earrings 😛
the two of you have been talking for a few weeks now, and are yet to make it official, but keeho can confidently say he'll be taking the next step after this date
⊹ taeyang : theo — gender specific
sets up a cute picnic date for the two of you
is really nervous, and ends up going to keeho for help
"what do girls eat? like is there something specific or..?"
"taeyang, be so for real right now."
yeah... he's a mess.
him and keeho end up buying an assortment of foods since he couldn't just decide on one or two things to base everything off of
poor baby tried so hard on everything, just for it to be ruined by the bees and the weather
he was really sulky when the two of you had to cancel the picnic date, but you didn't mind
brings you to the dorms to watch a movie, which was a bad idea because everyone was at the dorms and were interrogating you two
"do you know he doesn't wear chapstick?"
"intak, shut the fuck up"
"she needs to know!"
⊹ jiung
you had been on a few dates with people before you'd gotten with jiung
he had asked what the dates were like, and you had told them that they were all pretty much the same: movies, dinner, golf...
he had made it his goal to make your first date together something you'd never done before
so hiking was the plan.
you'd expressed how much you wanted to go hiking to him before, and he never found a good enough opportunity to bring you. but with his schedule clear for a few days, and your vacation from school, it was perfect.
ends up enjoying it more than you do-even though he fell a few (lot) times
"jiung, baby. can we please take a break?"
"a break? right now? but this is way to fun."
he eventually listens to your whines, and y'all sit in a spot that gives y'all the best view
"thank you for this. best first date ever."
"it better be. i busted my ass for you."
⊹ intak

"okay you're better than me at smash bros, but do you and your partner have matching swimsuits? that's what i thought"
"intak, i'm single."
"cry about it."
jongseob: T-T

titles it something cheesy, like "pov: beach trip with yr baby" or something
takes SO MANY cute pictures together
like he cant post them but he will show everyone he can
shows up to rehearsal talking bout
"hey pd nim wanna see what me and y/n did this weekend?"
he's actually infatuated
y'all are so that couple everyone sees in the water at the beach and gets jealous of fr
snowballs on the beach <3
probably rents a golf cart and drives around while listening to the playlist he made with you
he just loves you sm
⊹ shota : soul
shota actually didn't plan y'all date, taeyang did
they had time off and decided to go to an amusement park
you and shota hadn't seen each other in some time, and taeyang suggested shota bring you along for some quality time
you happily agreed
one thing about shota, however: he loves the extreme rides
haha you're definitely not pissing yourself while waiting in line for a rollercoaster! that's childish! haha..
laughs at you while you're literally crying your eyes out
he feels bad afterwards though and buys you a lot of food to make up for it (well he uses keeho's money)
goes on the rides you want to go on, and he secretly takes pictures of you and sets them as his lockscreen <3
poor jongseob is third wheeling
once y'all left the park, y'all go eat out and jiung makes you and shota sit at a separate table to talk (much to keeho's protests)
"what if they do something they aren't supposed to??"
"like what?"
"like something adults do."
"keeho, he just turned 18."
⊹ jongseob
you plan the date, since he's in your hometown, and decide to go kayaking
he's never done it before and it makes you really excited that his first time kayaking his with you
he gets a little scared when trying to get in the kayak and it takes him a while before he finally sits in it
while laughing at him trying to get in, you fall out of your kayak. he's so shocked and he starts laughing too-which causes him to fall out
screams like a girl while falling
eventually y'all are just laughing so hard while drifting in the water
y'all get yelled at for being in the way of other kayaks, so y'all take a break from something y'all didn't even start and eat ice cream
there's a lot of other things to do at the place you brought him, so y'all venture out and go on water slides, play with water guns, feed alligators, (which he's never seen before and almost shits himself), and end it with eating seafood
when you're both dry, he takes pictures of you with his camera and posts one on weverse, even though he isn't supposed to

twosday
we've got a two-weeker! last week I kept going "ah, I should write my Tuesdaypost", and then it was Saturday. so. ah well.
listening: back on an Astonishing Legends kick! listened to the 2 parters on bloodfalls and The Entity(tm).
Hypoxia - Thomas Giles and the album 'Pulse' that it's on.
the album 'I Will Write Your Song' by Matt Duncan. I should have listened to 'Soft Times' because the songs I have listened to that I like are both on there.
my roommate (listen, I don't live with her any more, but we share pieces of each other's souls so I am going to keep referring to her that way) also got me on these two songs that are major bops. good for Moving and Grooving.
Vois sur ton chemin techno remix by BENNETT
Pedro by Jaxomy
reading: literally so many academic papers. see the misc section.
watching: did a lot of youtube the past two weeks, just gonna post some highlights. a bunch of swell entertainment, not gonna post any one of her vids in specific.
how I reduced my screentime by 80% by reysu: something I've been grappling with is Ough, Too Much Screen, especially considering my day-to-day work is all on the computer too. did implement some of these tips, not sure how much it has helped me considering most of my screentime is on discord and messenger which I don't really want to totally disconnect myself from the same way I have on instagram/fb/etc without too much issue.
the importance of real things by Ted Kutina: I love you physical media
you can't fit your personality in an airport tray by Katie Robinson: some commentary on Style and Personality. not sure if it's just the period of time I grew up in or just something about me inherently or what but I never really had too much issue or thought with the idea of Finding My Style, I just don't buy clothes if they don't spark some joy or serve some purpose.
home organization for chaotic people by Caroline Winkler: found her channel as I overthink exactly where I want to hang up my wall art. she's an interior designer type but I was uncomfortably called out about how she talks about how she used to save every little scrap of anything that someone she loved may have touched out of a sense of guilt. I never really connected that to guilt, but, like, yeah. el oh el. made me think about some of the things I keep around and why.
fall reset guide (that'll actually help get your life together) by morgan Evelyn Cook: really loved the idea of a "morning menu" to replace the idea of a morning routine with.

youtube
playing: the biweekly dnd as usual. I have dropped the in-person game I've been playing in for now just because I am stretched too thin. I know this doesn't count but boy have I been thinking about minecraft. need her fr
making: I volunteered to do some drawings for an event my university is hosting in January that I will not be sharing on here because it will make me even more doxxable than normal. this has taken longer than I thought! I am more out of practice painting than I'd assumed so that hurted a bit, and one of the drawings was originally going to be a block print but I rapidly realized that an ink drawing would probably be easier and faster. neither of them are done yet but I have til Friday I think.
anyways I am back in pottery!!! I have made Two ramekins, Two failed ramekins that are teacups now, and a plate! I have never done a plate so that was a cool new thing to do. the real trick was to throw it on a bat and then put the bat in direct sunlight for like an hour before cutting it off.
eating: uhhhhhhh nothing notable really, lots of easy food and trader joes frozens right now because ough. oh wait I tried this bean soup that someone recommended. I forget who. it was. fine. idk it's just beans and garlic so it was just kinda underwhelming. I did get to use my immersion blender tho so that's fun. I have a different bean soup that I will hopefully make and try this week.
misc: dude writing my prelim document is SO SCARY. the introduction specifically is kicking my ass because it's like, "synthesize these papers you've read (and some of which you haven't, oops) into a coherent backstory for why the work you're doing makes sense and is important, for a field you're not technically trained in. also don't make it sound too similar to the thesis of the guy who was working on this project before you. good luck!!"
here is some astronomical happenings in The Corn. see you next week

ATEEZ Wooyoung Enneagram
- E2, sx/so 2w3, 278 -
An in depth analysis of an idol's enneagram. Based on my opinion and observations. Not an expert. May change later.
Core (main type): 2
Triads: Heart/Image/Shame, Positivity, Compliant, Rejection
Basic motive: To be loved
Basic fear: Being unworthy of love
Wooyoung has always desired love and admiration from others. He has lots of love and care in his heart and not afraid to express his affections for others. 2s want love and want to give love, so many of them are drawn to people.
He highly values relationships, especially since he used to feel lonely when he was younger. Since then, he seems motivated to create connections with others - Wooyoung simply wants love and to give love, just like an ennea 2.
Wooyoung seems especially touched when fans tell him the deep impact his and the group's work have on them - how he and ATEEZ help change a fan's life for the better. A 2 wants to be able to help others, to make a positive impact on people and the world. Wooyoung has made it his goal to be the light in other's life. It is the reason why he chose a candle to represent himself in "Fill in the Blanks" episode. (If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it. It is the best proof of his core 2)
Some things from the ep that stood out to me about his ennea 2 core:
"The very first thing that comes to mind when I think of Wooyoung is 'The heart that thinks of those who are precious to him before himself so I think he suits the forget-me-not flower, which means 'true love'." - Seonghwa
"One time when a fan said they know how to give love but don't know how to receive it, Wooyoung replied and said he would teach them both ways. It felt like being embraced by a warm blanket." - Anonymous ATINY
"You, who shines a light on my dark life. Positive, cheerful Wooyoung has completely changed my life." - Anonymous ATINY
"I want to become someone who is needed by someone." - Wooyoung
Wing: 2w3
Wings act as a complement to the core.
With a 3 wing, it adds a need for achievement and success. Wooyoung is definitely goal oriented, accomplishments make him feel worthy of love and praise. He wants to be the best at what he does, which is why he tries so hard to improve in his passions. It's why he tries so hard to improve in his performance and wanting to be the best at his cooking - he has a whole series dedicated to cooking where he pushes himself to learn different techniques for cooking and cutting. He also expanded his menu to be able to cook more different types of food.
As both 2 and 3 are from the same triad, Wooyoung is very image oriented. The best example is one of his recent lives where he was talking about "needing" to lose weight in order to better conform to the ideal idol image. Having a 3 wing gives him a bit of perfectionism, along with very high expectations. He wants to fulfill these expectations in order to gain the love he wants. Although Wooyoung is already quite amazing as is, being a 2w3 may make him feel he still has to look and be a certain way in order to be loved and successful. One of the major things an image/heart type struggles with is never feeling good enough.
Subtype: sx/so
Subtypes show our drive in life.
Sx (sexual/one-on-one): intensity, deep connection
So (social): Group connections, community
Sx 2: Sx 2s want to get to know a person deeply, to know their life story and their soul. This seems to fit Wooyoung best since he said he wants to know the real version of people. He doesn't judge right away - he wants to genuinely take his time to truly understand someone. He wants to be wanted by others.
So 2: Being his 2nd dominant subtype, Wooyoung still values group connections. He's outgoing and friendly and puts effort into creating a nice environment. He wants to do things for others - has said he enjoys cooking and feeding others. Especially when they react positively, it gives him a sense of accomplishment and motivation to get better in order to keep people happy.
Tritype: 278
Tritype is formed up one's dominant type from each center of intelligence (heart, head, gut)
- Head center type: 7 -
Head center focuses on dealing with fear and anxiety.
I think Wooyoung deals with such issues in a 7 way - he's silly and goofy, obviously a fun and overall positive guy, as most 7s are. Even Hongjoong said Wooyoung is good at creating a comfortable atmosphere - they probably would not be as close if it weren't for Wooyoung's ability to make things fun. Whenever things were tense or awkward, Wooyoung would go out of his way to relieve such tension.
- Gut center type: 8 -
Gut center is about reaction, control, and anger.
8's are the most comfortable and open about their anger - they do not repress and are not ashamed. Wooyoung seems to have no difficulty in expressing his disappointments and anger with people. He's quite straightforward and blunt, a bit unfiltered at times. He's also fiercely protective over those he cares about, e.g saying he would bite whoever hurt Seonghwa when some "fans" were being rude to him. He also did a biting motion with his arms as a way to call out the person who had plagiarized their Say My Name dance move. An 8 would definitely be bold enough to do such a thing.
- Stems -
How types connect
2-7: Positivity, playful, fun, charming
7-8: Assertive, can be impulsive, do what they want
2-8: Rejection, take control, protective

Chapter 4 A date to remember
Pairings: Jensen and Saamiya, (OFC),
Summary: Jensen and Saamiya share a wonderful night together, they end up getting a bit more comfortable with each other.
Once they arrived at a local Italian restaurant, the hostess sensed their connection and discreetly led them to a secluded corner table. The restaurant exuded an ambiance rivaling enchanting fairy tales, with walls bathed in candlelight and an air carrying the savory promise of culinary delights. This was the place Sam had heard whispers of, a haven of flavor and charm.
As they settled into their seats, Sam's heart danced with anticipation. The table boasted a flickering candle, casting a warm glow that harmonized with their growing connection. Jensen, grinning warmly with intrigue dancing in his eyes, sat across from her, creating an elegant and romantic tableau.
Sam's eyes scanned the menu, soft light casting a warm glow on her features as she glanced up at Jensen. "This place has quite the ambiance. And I've heard their pasta is exceptional."
Jensen's grin mirrored her excitement. "Yes, I've heard the same. I'm a huge fan of Italian food, so I'm really looking forward to it."
Their words hung in the air, a blend of anticipation and the promise of a delightful meal. A moment later, the waiter approached their table, his professional smile matching the restaurant's charm.
“Good evening, folks. Can I start you off with something to drink?” He handed them a drink menu, his gaze shifting between the two, awaiting their orders.
“I'll have a glass of red wine, please,” Sam said, meeting the waiter's gaze with a smile.
“And I'll go with the same, thanks,” Jensen added.
He nodded and collected their menus, disappearing with a promise to fetch their drinks. As seconds passed, Jensen and Saamiya's eyes returned to the menu before them, a culinary world of possibilities awaiting exploration.
“Wow, so many amazing dishes here,” Sam remarked.
Jensen chuckled slightly. “Indeed, it's almost a challenge to decide.”
“I know, right? But that spaghetti bowl… It's calling my name.” Her mouth watered as she gazed at the photo.
Jensen followed her gesture, his eyes landing on the dish in question. “Oh, goodness, you might be onto something there. That looks incredible.”
Their waiter returned with their drinks, orchestrating the service with quiet precision. He placed the drinks accordingly. “Are you two ready to order, or do you need a bit more time?”
They shared a glance, their unspoken understanding evident.
“We're ready, actually,” Sam said, smiling at the waiter.
Jensen ordered first, his voice carrying an air of certainty. “I'll have the lasagna, please.”
With a smile, Saamiya followed suit. ”And I'll have the spaghetti carbonara bowl, please.”
The waiter jotted down their orders with practiced ease, his smile warm and appreciative. “Excellent choices. Your dishes will be on their way shortly.”
As the waiter retreated, leaving them to their shared anticipation, Jensen raised his glass, the candlelight flickering on the reflective surface. ”Cheers to a fantastic evening ahead.”
Sam's eyes twinkled as she raised her own glass, the delicate bubbles in her sparkling water dancing in the candlelight. “Cheers!”
Their glasses met in a delicate symphony, their cheerful clink resonating with the shared anticipation hanging in the air – a prelude to a night that promised laughter, stolen glances, and the dawn of a beautiful connection. With each sip of their drinks, their conversation flowed as effortlessly as a gentle river, weaving through tales of their childhoods, the passions that stirred their souls, and the cherished books that had left indelible marks on their hearts.
“So, Saamiya, tell me something quirky about yourself that I don’t know.”
Sam laughed, “Well, besides photography, I have a secret talent. I can mimic different accents quite well, especially British and French. But I promise I won't embarrass you by breaking into an accent right here.”
“Now that's intriguing. I might have to hear that someday. And speaking of talents, I'm a bit of a closet magician. Card tricks and all.”
She looked at him skeptically, “Oh, really? Are you going to pull a rabbit out of your pocket next?”
“If only I could. But no rabbits tonight, I promise. Just some good old sleight of hand.”
Later, after they'd enjoyed their meal and were savoring dessert, Sam took a bite of her tiramisu and put her hand to her lips. “Oh my gosh, this tiramisu is amazing. You have to try a bite.”
“Well, if it's a recommendation from you, how can I resist?” He smiled and took his fork to her dessert for a bite.”
As Jensen took a bite, Saamiya watched him with a grin. “So, did it live up to the hype?”
Jensen nodded, “Oh, absolutely. I think I've found a new dessert favorite.”
Throughout the meal, their eyes met frequently, and they exchanged smiles and knowing looks.
“You know, Saamiya, I have to admit, this has been one of the most enjoyable evenings I've had in a long time,” Jensen said, sitting back to let his meal settle.
She blushed, “I feel the same way, Jensen. It's been really wonderful getting to know you.”
He reached across the table to hold her hand. “And I hope this is just the beginning. There's something about you that's incredibly captivating.”
“I have to agree. I've felt so comfortable around you, like I've known you for much longer than just this morning.”
They continued talking, their conversation growing more intimate as the evening progressed. As the night went on, they shared more personal stories, their laughter filling the air. As the restaurant began to close, Jensen offered his arm to Saamiya, and they walked out into the moonlit night.
“You know, the night isn't over yet. How about we take a stroll in the park nearby?”
She looked up at him, “I'd love that.”
Hand in hand, they walked through the park, the gentle breeze and the sound of their laughter creating a magical atmosphere.
Jensen paused and turned to look at her. “Saamiya, I feel like we've connected in a way I didn't expect. Would it be too forward if I said I'd really like to see you again?”
Her heart danced at the thought. “Jensen, it's not too forward at all. In fact, I was hoping you'd say that. I'd love to see you again too.”
Leaning slightly closer, his eyes locked onto her ruby-red lips, drawn by an irresistible magnetic force. He could feel the electricity in the air, a palpable tension that seemed to tangle their heartbeats. He bent down, his movements almost cautious, his lips meeting hers in a moment that held the weight of anticipation.
Their lips brushed against each other, and in that fleeting touch, time seemed to stand still. A rush of sensations surged through them – a spark that ignited something deeper, an unspoken promise that whispered of a connection that defied words.
For that brief moment, their lips lingered, as if savoring the sensation before they pulled away, the space between them now charged with newfound awareness. Jensen's gaze bore into hers, a reflection of the emotions swirling within him. In the lingering silence, their eyes locked, their unspoken understanding enveloping them like a delicate embrace.
They resumed their walk, side by side, their steps falling into an easy rhythm that mirrored the rhythm of their conversation. The park's path stretched out before them, illuminated by the gentle glow of moonlight filtering through the trees. With every step, their shoulders brushed against each other, a subtle contact that felt more deliberate than accidental.
Jensen's laughter blended harmoniously with Saamiya's, filling the night air with a melody of shared stories and genuine amusement. Stolen glances passed between them, each looking a silent acknowledgment of the connection that was growing stronger by the second. Their words flowed effortlessly, weaving a tapestry of memories and dreams that only seemed to tighten the bond between them.
As they continued to walk, Saamiya felt a sense of comfort she hadn't experienced before. It was as if Jensen's presence brought with it a feeling of belonging, a reassurance that she was exactly where she was meant to be. She found herself sharing stories that she had never shared with anyone else, the vulnerability between them feeling like a bridge to something deeper.
Jensen, too, felt the walls around his heart slowly crumbling, replaced by an openness he had rarely allowed himself to experience. With Saamiya, he felt seen, understood, and appreciated for who he truly was. He found himself sharing his aspirations and fears with a level of honesty he hadn't expected. And as for Saamiya, she felt a connection stronger than ever before and hoped that her father’s interference would not break what she longed for.
As the night carried on, the moon high above, their steps grew a little slower, as if reluctant to let the evening end. The laughter continued, punctuated by moments of comfortable silence where their glances said more than words ever could. The night was a canvas upon which their connection painted a beautiful picture, each brushstroke a shared memory, each color a new emotion discovered.
Finally, they arrived at a bench nestled beside a tranquil pond, its still waters capturing the moon's ethereal glow. The surroundings seemed to hush in reverence as Jensen and Saamiya settled onto the bench, their connection and the night's enchantment swirling around them.
Jensen leaned into Sam’s ear and whispered to her. “This view is something else.”
“It's like a scene from a dream or a Hallmark movie,” she whispered back.
They sat in quiet awe, their hands resting side by side on the bench. The water's surface shimmered with the moon's reflection, creating a tapestry of silver and black. Nature's orchestra of frogs and other nocturnal creatures serenaded them, a gentle background melody that only enhanced the magic of the moment.
As they listened to the symphony of the night, their words seemed to find their own rhythm, no longer rushed but unhurried and sincere. The pauses between their conversation felt as significant as the words themselves – a shared appreciation of the beauty around them and the connection between their hearts.
“You know, moments like these make me believe in the extraordinary.”
“There's a certain enchantment in the quiet moments, isn't there?”
They watched as a gentle breeze danced across the pond's surface, causing ripples that seemed to echo the emotions stirring within them. The night had a way of casting a tender spell, inviting them to be present, to cherish the stillness, and to find comfort in the unspoken understanding between them.
Jensen softly broke the silence. “Saamiya, there's something about tonight that feels so different. It's like the universe conspired to bring us together, right here, right now.”
“I couldn't agree more. It's as if the stars themselves aligned to create this moment between us.”
The air seemed charged with an energy that was uniquely theirs, a shared secret that only they were privy to. The bench that supported them felt like a haven, a space where time stretched and the world faded into the background, leaving only them and the night that cradled them.
“You know, Saamiya, the way we've connected tonight… It's a rarity. And I'm eager to see where this journey leads us.”
Her heart fluttered, “I share that eagerness, Jensen. There's a depth to our connection that's taken me by surprise in the most wonderful way. I felt it the minute you walked into the studio this morning.”
They exchanged a look that held unspoken promises, a silent agreement to explore what this newfound connection could become. As the night continued its graceful descent, they knew that even as the evening drew to a close, their story was only beginning.
Jensen stood up and offered a hand for her to take, “Shall we start heading back?”
She accepted his gesture and stood up, nodding in agreement. “Yes, but the night we've shared will stay with me.”
With a final lingering gaze at the pond, they rose from the bench, their hands brushing against each other as they stood. The moonlight seemed to linger in their eyes, a reflection of the magic that had enveloped them.
“Shall we?” he said as he offered his arm.
Looping her arm through his, “Let's go.”
And as they walked back, arm in arm, the echoes of their shared laughter, the stolen glances, and the serenity of the night accompanied them, a melody etched into their hearts as a reminder of the beautiful beginning they had found together.
Walking into her apartment, Jensen felt its warm embrace, its walls illuminated by strategically placed lamps creating an ambiance of comfort. Sam's photography adorned the space, telling a story. The evening light filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle, inviting glow.
As they entered her apartment, Saamiya smiled warmly. “Welcome to my humble abode. It's small but perfect for me and close to everything I need.”
He looked around, “It's lovely. Just like you.”
Sam blushed, “You're too kind. Would you like anything to drink?” She asked, placing her pocketbook on the desk next to her keys.
“Water would be fine, thank you,” he said, smiling as he sat down on the sofa she had indicated.
“I’ll be right back.” She headed over to the kitchen and opened the fridge for two bottled waters. Turning back to look at him, sitting on her couch, she couldn’t believe what was happening. Her heart fluttered, and she felt a warmth inside that was indescribable.
“Here, you go. Nice and cold.” She sat down next to him and handed him a bottle.
“You know, Saamiya, I have to say, spending time with you tonight has been nothing short of magical.”
“I couldn't agree more, Jensen. It's like the universe conspired to bring us together.”
“I don't want the night to end.”
Sam matched his closeness. “Neither do I.”
Their gazes locked, an unspoken understanding blossoming between them.
“Saamiya, I'd love to see you again. Soon.”
Smiling, her eyes shining. “I'd really like that, Jensen.”
They grew closer together, and hesitant for a moment, Jensen then leaned in to kiss her cheek. “Until next time?”
Feeling her own heart race, she placed a delicate kiss on his cheek. “Until next time.”
Soon after, Jensen reluctantly stood up to leave, their hands lingering in a brief, meaningful touch.
“Goodnight, Saamiya.”
“Goodnight, Jensen. Thank you for tonight. It's been amazing.”
Jensen smiled and nodded in agreement, then left. As Saamiya closed the door behind him, she leaned against it with a contented sigh as the night wrapped up in a quiet enchantment. Saamiya then went over to the picturesque window and looked down to see Jensen getting into his car. He looked up with one last glance and waved to her; she waved back with a soft smile playing on her lips. “Until next time, handsome.”

The Fresh Start Café Shaina Tranquilino August 5, 2024
In the bustling city, Mark Thompson had climbed the corporate ladder with relentless ambition. As a high-powered executive, his days were consumed by board meetings, financial reports, and endless emails. The stress had become a constant companion, and Mark's love for cooking, once a cherished hobby, had faded into a distant memory. One evening, after another grueling day, Mark found himself gazing at an old photo of him and his grandmother in her kitchen, covered in flour, smiling ear to ear. A longing for those simpler times stirred within him. He closed his laptop, leaned back in his chair, and sighed deeply. The seed of change had been planted.
Six months later, Mark stood in front of an old, charming building in the quaint town of Maplewood. The Fresh Start Café, read the sign above the door. The paint was still fresh, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods wafted through the air. Mark had traded his tailored suits for a chef’s apron, and the gleaming office towers for this cozy, sunlit café.
The locals were curious about the new addition to their town. The café quickly became a popular spot, known for its warm atmosphere and delicious homemade food. Mark was often found behind the counter, chatting with customers, or in the kitchen, preparing dishes with a passion that had been dormant for too long.
One brisk autumn morning, Mark was kneading dough when the doorbell jingled, signaling a new customer. He looked up to see a woman in her fifties, dressed in a smart but casual outfit, with an air of confidence that reminded him of his old life. She introduced herself as Linda, a travel writer exploring small-town gems.
Linda was captivated by the café’s charm and Mark’s story. She returned every day for a week, sampling the menu and jotting down notes. They struck up a friendship, bonding over their shared love for food and travel. Linda's visits became the highlight of Mark’s day, a reminder that even in a small town, connections and opportunities for new beginnings abounded.
One evening, as they closed up the café, Linda handed Mark a draft of her latest article. "The Fresh Start Café: A Haven of Homemade Happiness," it read. Mark felt a swell of pride and gratitude. The article beautifully captured the essence of his journey and the soul of his café.
Months turned into years, and The Fresh Start Café flourished. It became more than just a place to eat; it was a community hub where stories were shared, friendships were formed, and dreams were rekindled. Mark’s transformation from a corporate executive to a café owner was complete, and in the heart of Maplewood, he found his new purpose.
One day, as Mark looked around the bustling café, he spotted a familiar face in the crowd—his former boss, Mr. Reynolds. They exchanged a surprised but warm greeting. Mr. Reynolds was passing through town and had heard about the café’s reputation. Over a cup of Mark’s signature coffee, they reminisced about old times and marveled at the unexpected turns life could take.
As the sun set, casting a golden glow over The Fresh Start Café, Mark felt a profound sense of contentment. He had found his place, a space where his love for cooking and his desire for connection could thrive. The café was not just a fresh start for Mark, but a testament to the power of following one’s passion, no matter where it leads.

Jessica B. Harris's Guide to Black Culinary History | Bon Appétit
Jessica B. Harris, Dawn Davis
Bahia, Brooklyn, New Orleans, Martha’s Vineyard, and Paris are the places she’s called home. Erudite, wickedly funny, and droll describe her personality. Who are we talking about?
None other than the culinary historian Jessica B. Harris, Ph.D.—founding member of the Southern Foodways Alliance, a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier, a professional society championing women in culinary fields, an award-winning journalist, podcaster, and author of over a dozen deeply researched books and too many articles to count. Try the Homestyle Favorites
Chef Edouardo Jordan’s JuneBaby restaurant in Seattle is an edible praise song to the genius of African American cooks. The menu offers classic dishes like fried chicken and greens along with specials—like chitlins and Momma Jordan’s oxtails—not usually tasted outside of home kitchens.
Tour the Archives
Toni Tipton-Martin’s The Jemima Code reclaims and celebrates the heritage of Black America’s controversial “aunt” by documenting 200 years of African American cookbooks from her personal collection. Familiar figures such as Edna Lewis show up alongside unexpected personalities such as activist Bobby Seale and singer Mahalia Jackson in this must-own compendium.

Eat Like an Icon
The late New Orleans chef Leah Chase served Gumbo z’Herbes once a year on Holy Thursday. The dense green meaty gumbo is essential to the rich culinary history of the area’s Creoles de couleur. It’s still served annually at Dooky Chase’s, her iconic family restaurant.

For The Bucket List
The food of São Salvador da Bahia de Todos os Santos in northeastern Brazil is a linchpin between the food of western Africa and that of the Western Hemisphere. To taste a fish stew called a moqueca or nibble on an acarajé, a street food bean fritter, is to understand the connections.

More Okra, Please
Okra, which originated on the African continent, is a love/hate vegetable. Its detractors hate the “slime” and the lovers delight in the way it thickens a soup or stew and its crunch when blanched. Get recipes, history, and gardening tips, in The Whole Okra by Chris Smith.

Change The Menu Fare
“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” Proverbs 4:23ESV
As a child, I learned a little song:
‘Oh, be careful, little eyes, what you see,
Oh be careful, little eyes, what you see
There’s a Father up above looking down in tender love,
Oh, be careful. little eyes what you see.
Oh, be careful, little ears, what you hear,
Oh, be careful, little ears, what you hear,
There’s a Father up above looking down in tender love,
Oh, be careful, little ears, what you hear…’
Why don’t we take the words of that song seriously? Why do we tune in to the news channels? Why do we watch programming of sinful people’s unhappiness? Why do we watch speeches of darkness? Why do we refuse to learn how to turn fear, depression, anger, hopelessness, and apathy away from us?
Lou and I moved to Ohio, deciding to not pay for cable TV. We had discovered during the previous year the anger and hopelessness we felt, seemed to be connected to watching news channels. Our selection of viewing now comes solely through the internet. Daily, we’ve guarded everything we watch. If the programming didn’t build us spiritually; had anything negative; promoted lewd sexuality; we hit the back button and found something else.
We’re both looking for total healing in our bodies. There are many healing evangelists in our nation on YouTube. Many faith teachers are available to help us strengthen our faith. Worship teachers help us turn our lives over entirely to Christ. Now, I have a few family members who might say, ‘oh you are just too emotional. That stuff isn’t real, it just gives you an emotional high.’ Well I’ll take an emotional high over the alternatives of hopelessness.
My Lord Yahweh has been growing consistently in my spiritual eyes over the past year. There is nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that ElShaddai, Yahweh can’t do— “…Jesus said to him, “…All things are possible for one who believes” Mark 9:23ESV.
Years ago, an acquaintance had a vision while in church. She was able to the souls of each person. Most people were walking around with babies looking starved and emaciated inside of them— the babies?— Their souls.
What had been happening to me was a slow starvation of my spirit. I knew better. This wasn’t the first time I’d felt my ardor waning. Our spirits have to be nurtured first, more than our bodies, because “for out of it are the issues of life.” My spirit, the part of each of us which goes to heaven, needed 24/7 God foods. The entire Holy Scriptures are to bring growth to our spirits.
Prepare a feast for your spirit and change the menu fare of your viewing. Why do we starve ourselves for different forms of entertainment? For negativity? Eye garbage? Feed your eyes and ears what is beneficial to your spirit’s growth. We’ve got a war to fight, if you hadn’t already noticed. Only from strength in our spirits can the joy of the Lord bring us through to total victory. How strong do you want to be? Do you want to win these major battles? Or a few skirmishes? It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: Lord God our lamps can run empty of oil without us even knowing it. Awaken us. Help us to see the only thing we need is you. Cause us to grow, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Marinated Tuna Steak: A Journey of Flavor and Forgiveness
On a sun-drenched island off the coast of Hawaii, a quaint seaside restaurant named “Tide’s Catch” served the freshest seafood. The owner, Leila, was a gifted chef known for her marinated tuna steak, a dish that had become the star of her menu. It was a recipe she had perfected over years of experimenting, combining the rich flavors of soy sauce, ginger, and sesame with the freshness of the ocean.
Leila’s restaurant was not just a place to eat; it was a sanctuary for the soul. Locals and tourists alike would gather at the outdoor tables, where the sound of waves crashing against the shore mingled with laughter and conversation. But for Leila, the restaurant was also a place of healing. A few years earlier, she had faced a personal crisis that left her feeling lost and disconnected from her roots.
One quiet afternoon, as the sun dipped low in the sky, casting a golden hue over the ocean, a young man named Kai stepped into Tide’s Catch. He was a local fisherman with a troubled past, searching for a fresh start after years of making poor choices. He had heard whispers about Leila’s legendary tuna steak and hoped to find solace in the flavors of the island.
As Kai settled into a corner table, Leila noticed the weight on his shoulders. With her instinct for reading people, she felt compelled to reach out. “What brings you here today?” she asked, her voice warm and inviting.
Kai hesitated, then replied, “I just moved back after some time away. I’m trying to find my way again.” His eyes flickered with a hint of vulnerability.
“Sometimes a good meal can help with that,” Leila said, smiling. “How about you try my marinated tuna steak? It’s one of my favorites.”
“Sure,” Kai replied, intrigued.
As Leila prepared the dish, she carefully marinated the fresh tuna steaks in a mixture of soy sauce, ginger, and a touch of honey. The aroma filled the kitchen, and she felt a sense of calm wash over her. Cooking was her therapy, a way to connect with her past and the love of her family, who had inspired her culinary journey.
When the tuna steak was ready, Leila plated it beautifully, garnishing it with sesame seeds and thinly sliced green onions. She served it with a side of coconut rice and a vibrant mango salsa that brightened the dish. As she placed the plate in front of Kai, his eyes widened in appreciation.
“Wow, this looks incredible,” he said, his stomach rumbling.
As Kai took his first bite, the flavors exploded in his mouth. The marinated tuna was tender and savory, the sweetness of the honey perfectly balancing the richness of the fish. He closed his eyes, savoring each bite, and for a moment, all his worries faded away.
Leila watched from the kitchen, pleased to see Kai enjoying the meal. After a while, she approached his table. “How do you like it?”
“It’s amazing. This is the best tuna I’ve ever had,” Kai admitted, his eyes brightening. “It feels like… home.”
In that moment, Leila saw something in Kai’s expression that mirrored her own journey. She sensed his desire for redemption, just as she had sought her own after her struggles. “Food has a way of connecting us to our roots,” she said softly. “It can also help us heal.”
The two began to share their stories, and as the sun set over the horizon, they opened up to each other. Leila spoke of her grandmother, who had taught her the art of cooking and how it had been her refuge during difficult times. Kai shared his regrets, the choices that had led him astray, and his longing to make things right.
As their conversation deepened, Leila felt a bond forming. She saw potential in Kai—a spark that reminded her of herself. Inspired, she offered him a chance to learn from her. “If you’re interested, I’d love to teach you how to cook. It might help you find your path.”
Kai’s eyes widened with surprise. “You would do that?”
“Of course,” Leila replied, smiling. “Cooking is a journey, just like life. And sometimes, we need someone to guide us.”
Over the next few weeks, Kai became a regular at Tide’s Catch, working alongside Leila in the kitchen. He learned to prepare the marinated tuna steak and other dishes, discovering a passion he never knew he had. With each slice of fish and every marinade mixed, he found a sense of purpose and belonging.
As the seasons changed, so did Kai. He began to mend relationships with his family and friends, using his newfound skills to bring people together over shared meals. The island community embraced him, and he felt their support as he transformed his life.
On a warm summer evening, Tide’s Catch held a special event to celebrate the island’s culture. Leila and Kai prepared a feast that showcased their journey together. As guests savored the marinated tuna steak, laughter and joy filled the air.
Standing at the front of the restaurant, Leila raised her glass. “To new beginnings and the power of food to heal and connect us!”
The crowd cheered, and Kai felt a surge of gratitude. He had found not just a mentor in Leila but a sense of family. Together, they had created something beautiful—through the simple act of sharing a meal, they had stitched together the frayed edges of their lives.
As the sun set on another perfect day in paradise, Kai knew he had finally found his place—both in the kitchen and in his heart. And it all began with a marinated tuna steak, a dish that had brought him home.
