there’s something so special to me about the casual intimacy (both physical and emotional) of the stark family. robb carrying bran to his horse. bran holding robb’s hand to comfort him. jon ruffling arya’s hair and pushing her around and her laughing and pushing him right back. ned hugging sansa and arya in front of the entire king’s court. they’re always thinking about each other and missing each other. the kids cry and fight and play and are kids, and ned and catelyn are kind to one another, and it’s beautiful. it’s so warm, so human, in contrast with the coldness of other familial relationships in the book.

that's a dynamic i am reminded of whenever i see eddie and bobby interact outside of the fire station and it's a dynamic that should be explored more overall.

i actually believe in lestat’s remorse and i think it only makes this story more complex. his dynamic with louis is so entrenched in the unequal power dynamic, and the same with claudia. he’s the maker, the father, the wolf. he’s white, he has money, he’s cursed with his father’s/marker’s temper. and he loves louis, and claudia too. and still, the relationship is not an equal one, and he harms them both horribly by enacting his role as the maker/father/wolf. it’s not that he’s not responsible or complicit, he is. but i think the show is saying something interesting about the dynamics and power structures that create abuse, and the way that even the ones in power don’t get what they really want, unless what they really want is simply control. it’s not just that some people are uniquely horrible, although that can also be true. it’s more that the patriarch is a role that only guarantees you power, not necessarily love. that it’s inherited, the way lestat has inherited his from his father and maker. and that to want to have or own someone, to feel entitled to them, can never be the basis of a real companionship. this part especially is true of armand and louis’s relationship as well. only love without ownership, the kind that claudia and madelaine share, is truly real. and that’s what i gather lestat’s apology is about

I know the decision to have Julian's parents have him augmented was made on the fly but imo its pretty obvious from early on that Julian has Family Issues because he avoids talking about his family like the plague and I think they should've incorporated this into the Julian and Sisko dynamic right from early on because I think it would've made for some really compelling stories and moments and could've set up a REALLY interesting Julian and Jake dynamic which they kinda started to do but never fully went for

Mhmm I sure love thinking of the reality where we did get more time to really know Karai and her dynamics with the bros. Losing her hit hard in the finale, but it would’ve hit much, much harder had we known Karai longer and really saw her relationships develop with everyone.

I especially would have been interested in her dynamic with Leo, as past iterations often have the two of them clash in ideals and the like while still sharing many characteristics. Two sides of the same coin, and all that. Her specifically being the bros’ Gram-Gram also adds a whole new dynamic as well.

Imagine how interesting it would be, to have Karai start off on Leo’s side for once, showing wholly just how alike the two are at their cores and bonding as family without the worry of betrayal or animosity that other iterations suffer through, only to have Karai die anyway. Their parting hug and the desperate look of horror Leo wears later on would have hit that much harder, I feel.

Why is SBI filled with dirt? Like, SAND Duo, BEDROCK Bros, EMERALD Duo, DIRTY Crimeboys. All incredibly ground-themed/adjacent at the very least. And then you look at Phil and Tommy and it's suddenly the angel duo??? completely off-theme. Get that air elemental crap out of here we are a ROCK and MUD family.

Anyway Phil and Tommy have that bit about Tommy eating mud. I petition to have them be Mud Duo as is only proper and good. We most restore balance.

Just wanted to say for the record that I am 100% here for every iteration of Oliver parenting/parent-in-lawing Jason that you can come up with. Seriously. I will read and love literally every single thing that you write in which Jason and Ollie have any kind of positive interaction and/or in which Ollie is an objectively better dad than Bruce, especially to Bruce’s own kids.

My biggest disappointment since getting into Jayroy as a ship has been the lack of good Oliver & Jason content. There’s so much potential there, both of the hilarious and angsty variety. (Second biggest disappointment is the lack of good Dinah & Jason content. Partly because I think they’d get along and partly because I feel like it would somehow translate to Jason in fishnets which is my ultimate dream.)

They're so important to me, I'm happy that you like it too! I was also missing having them interact in most of Jayroy content, so, you know, gotta do it yourself lmao. How Oliver has a worse reputation as a parent than many others (*cough Bruce cough*) is beyond me. Oliver and Jason are both interesting and enjoyable characters for me to write, and examining them and their potential dynamic is so so fun. It's also just very healing for me, to have someone come from such a dysfunctional life and dynamics in their home and see that you can truly get better and have other people in your life without having to constantly watch yourself and your every move so you don't get judged and condemned.

Also you had such a good timing, I just thought today that I need to ramp up with Dinah & Jason interactions. Dinah is such an important person to Roy, so it would make sense that she would be interacting with Jason a lot, too. So, gotta get with that too!

Beginning of how they met, YAYAY!🙂

Sorry about the quality again, I don't like how it sometimes cuts the drawings but I'll settle💔. I've never actually drawn human Alastor till now, but I do like how he turned out so o(≧▽≦)o!

In not gonna do the math about their ages, and I don't think it'd line up w/Canon, but ik Angel died around the 40s near his 20-30s so he'd had lived two decades prior. I'm pretty sure Alastor died around the 20s, not 30s, but that doesn't matter - the point is, Angel would've been a kid before Alastor yknow, died. (Don't take my word for it, I'm probably wrong, but in this lil comic, that's how it is😔) Angel's around 8yrs old and Alastor is somewhere in his late 20s or early 30s (teehee Alastor w dimples🙂!)

Angel playing around with a dead deers head WILL be explained, trust!🙏 I got the idea of domino's bc I think it's a nice game to bond over, also I just like the game and I remember my Dad teaching me how it works so FATHER AND SON MOMENT RISE!💥💥 Anyways, Angel's childhood won't align w Canon (sorry, so ooc, but I like it☹️).
