Mark eases the door shut behind him, the soft click barely registering over the lingering pulse of music in his head. His body hums with exhaustion, each step heavier than the last, until his gaze falls on you. You're sprawled across his bed, wrapped in his blanket, wearing his shirt—his favorite one, too. The sight makes his breath falter, the ache in his muscles replaced by something deeper, something primal. You look so peaceful, lips slightly parted, the curve of your body inviting under the thin fabric. Heat coils low in his stomach, his pulse quickening. He wants to reach out, feel the softness of your skin, pull you close, but he stands frozen for a moment, torn between watching and wanting. Just the sight of you, like this, is enough to make him lose control.

He takes a slow step forward, the floor creaking beneath his weight, but you don’t stir. His eyes drink in every inch of you—the way his shirt falls off your shoulder, exposing the bare skin beneath, the way your fingers curl lightly into the pillow. His heart pounds harder, breath shallow.

You stir slightly in your sleep, the movement small, but it sends his pulse racing. The temptation to wake you, to slip under the blanket beside you, to feel your body against his is overwhelming. But instead, he watches you for a moment longer, savoring the stillness of the moment—before the inevitable flood of desire pulls him under completely.

Mark’s resolve crumbles. Slowly, carefully, he leans in, unable to resist the magnetic pull any longer. His fingertips graze your shoulder, featherlight, as if testing the reality of this moment. The warmth of your skin under his touch makes his breath catch, a slow exhale escaping his lips. You stir again, shifting slightly toward him, your face nuzzling deeper into the pillow, oblivious to the effect you’re having on him.

He moves closer, the bed dipping under his weight as he slides in beside you. His body presses gently against yours, and his arm slips around your waist, pulling you back against him. The fabric of his shirt rides up just enough for him to feel the heat of your bare skin, and it ignites something in him—something raw, possessive.

You sigh softly in your sleep, instinctively nestling into his embrace, and the sound alone nearly undoes him. His lips hover close to your neck, inches away, his breath warm against your skin. He doesn’t wake you, not yet, but his heart pounds with the knowledge that when you do open your eyes, when you feel him pressed against you, you’ll know exactly what he’s been holding back.

hello, nonnie! first off, thank you so much for the love <3 the drabbles have been a blast to write so far, and i'm looking forward to writing more in the upcoming days 💛

to answer your question, though, i have to be honest and say my first reaction was 'obviously, cat??? 🧍🏻‍♂️' and it's not just because you literally cannot spell katsuki without saying the word. for someone who canonically values his own space and independence, a cat might seem like a good pair for him. temperament-wise, i think cats match his personality better, too. not to mention bakugou's features and how his feline-like eyes and canines make him akin to the animal.

but if i look closely, i actually feel like katsuki is a dog person deep down. we all know how, despite his rough exterior, he is someone who has an immense sense of responsibility and cares so fucking much, and i feel like dogs (who are typically clingy) trigger those qualities in him. also, i think it melts his heart every time (though he will never admit it—no, he's carrying this one to the grave) whenever he gets reminded that a whole living being is fully, wholly dependent and in love with him. being able to care for and protect a dog is not only fulfilling for a closeted, pedantic nerd like him, but it also serves as a much-needed reminder that no matter how aggressive he may appear to be, he is perfectly capable of co-existing, gentleness, and nurturing.

as for breeds, though, i can see him raising either a german shepherd (because they're smart and protective and can be aggressive, yet are perfectly capable of love—a profile he tries to embody himself) or fostering a street dog. for the latter, i feel like he gets overprotective and gets hell-bent on caring for and training the dog and showing them off to pure-breed owners to exhibit how his dog is superior LOL

Jeepers Creepers (2001) & House of 1000 corpses (2003) etc really put spn into perspective. Later seasons were very obviously daytime tv inspired (shoddy sets, relying heavily on bad cgi or a very limited costume department, extremely bright super detailed shots, but also just the acting, plots, side characters etc all follow a OUAT, Teen Wolf, random doctor show that airs daily format. lots of talking, lots of random plots), but in the first seasons you can feel this early 2000s Americana horror background. It's really interesting to see, it contextualises a lot.

But apart from that analytical aspect, it's also really inspiring. Imagine what could've been. (on that note: I feel like the Conjuring franchise is a good example for what Americana horror was doing in the 2010s and onward. that also would've been a fun route for spn to take. too bad!)
