Okay putting this in an ask so we don't create an overly long thread but IM SO HAPPY YOU ASKED THE FAMILY QUESTION!!!

Azrael and Lady aren't related to N or Penny by blood, however they are related by name. Both Azrael and Lady were made with Ghetsis' DNA, cuz like if you were an evil tyrant and trying to create a weapon you'd wanna take credit for it by being related to it

Lady however was made with both Ghetsis' DNA and a certain Pokemon's DNA to basically create this being with massive amounts of psychic power that can level a city with a flick of a wrist (hense why when she scare Iolanthe her first reaction was to say "I'm not dangerous"). However she proved to be too sympathetic and emotional so they decided to go with plan B

Getting the DNA for Lady was horrifically expensive so they had to go a cheaper way, why not mix together the DNA of the most powerful trainers of Unova so we can create somebody with lethal amounts of battling talent? Ghetsis automatically put himself in one slot because he's self absorbed like that, but since Alder was renowned for how powerful he was in his younger years along with being the champion with the longest lasting title, they used him.

This obviously created Azrael, he does indeed show massive amounts of talent but he's horrifically cruel and rude to the other grunts. Not only that but he rarely follows his orders as he shows a disturbing lack of care and sympathy, he runs solely on apathy in a way. So they decided to say "fuck it, let's go with the dragon that's less trouble at this point!"

Though I suppose Lady, Azrael, and Penny are all technically related to each other by the clause of being artificially created by Colress, not sure about Paulo though

The only reason why Lady didn't lash out from the abuse and terror she was experiencing (since she didn't live up to her expections they decided to use her as more of a scientific research material thing, think RH Hydreigon but human) was because Ghetsis cemented to her very early on in her mental awareness that she may NEVER harm her family, nor put any of her family in harms way

This is why she's such a stickler for family, why she gives bows to all of her "family." Alder didn't do anything wrong to her in order to not get a bow, he's just not related to her. She never knew about N until Ghetsis was hanging off that cliff and she bolted, I don't think she's in the wrong for bolting. I mean, if you were horrifically abused for about a year, had pins and needles shoved in your skin, etc, and saw a way out, you'd take it.

That's why Azrael hates her so much, with her abilities she could've easily teleported him away or made sure he safely landed, but she ran away instead. Between her and Azzy he was definitely the favourite, he was treated in a much more kinder way than Lady was as he had some use still. If anything he loved Ghetsis as a father, hense why he's so upset he died, it's also why he hates RH Ghetsis because he will never be like him

this is SO cool btw i love this idea. and i love the fact that both of us decided col and ghetsis totally would decide to play with artificial human life because of course they would. and it's hilarious to think they failed this THREE TIMES before turning to the dragon. like alright gang give it a rest.

i think lady and azrael being kinda opposites is fun thematically with the whole dragon splitting truth vs ideals story. idk if that's what you were going for but it came to mind

i feel bad for lady though. penny is essentially the same boat. too sweet but also he didn't even give the desired results, which was to recreate n's ability. but (cutting off heeere for spoilers)

colress was actually too attached to mistreat penny in any way similar to lady. which is funny because colress quite obviously does not give a shit about n, and had no qualms in mistreating her, but penny was special to him. maybe because of vanity (click is His creation afterall) or maybe because he had to partially raise the kid himself. but either way you can see this in the fact that penny is upset hearing about colress going to jail, clack liked him and colress liked clack

penny wasn't raised from a baby though, he essentially manifested into existence at age 7 when n was (if im doing good math. which idk bc im running on E rn LMAO) around 15, because n didn't dream of being a baby obvi. she dreamt of the life she had back to the forest before ghetsis found her

which would put them around that age

also i don't blame lady at all for bolting. go queen. sorry azrael but he really had it coming . if anything rh peepaw is one hell of an improvement but i guess to him it would be a downgrade if you preferred tyrannical abuser

though this does beg the question of why lady didn't do anything for penny if they were aware of each other ... penny ended up dematerializing because upon colress's arrest and ghetsis's death there was no one to maintain click and click was stuck in the lab. my poor guy. im assuming she just panicked or she assumed he got out on his own or smth. or hell maybe click was already gone by the time lady saw an out... that's actually SUCH a sad concept to see this little guy you liked fizzle out of existence while you can't do anything

i know lady doesn't blink but does she sleep? or dream? bc if not then penny couldn't even reach her to say smth...

also all this begs the question. ik you mentioned story canon vs other canon. is all of the above applied in the world of nhp and rh? just asking cuz obvi it would drastically change penny lore and i may have to do some finagling to fit it all in

I hc he ran away when he was 14-15. This is him as a kid, basically 14. Also, i thought it’d be fun if he looked like both his sons hence the two toned hair (personally think he made his kids asexually btw cause its hilarious)

I also like to think hes a lot like BOTH his sons personality wise.

ANYWAY that moment when trauma hits you like a truck. As a child soldier, you are robbed of your childhood (lloyd parallel fr) and then you run away making 16 realms, 2 kids and possibly humans as well. You ingrain it into your everyday life and never realise your coping methods are unhealthy until you suddenly realise you’ve hurt your sons, but its too late by then.

My angst material is focusing on the generational trauma here btw

I mean FSM runs from the pressure from everyone around him -> Wu and Garmadon feel pressure to uphold their fathers expectations and everyone elses -> Lloyd trying to uphold expectations from everyone around him…

(Also, so fun cause my lloyd design looks like his grandfather, OOF think of the parallels is what i’m saying)
