i think what really hit me the most was narumi’s reaction to kikoru’s tears like you’ve to remember she’s still just 16 years old and has lost BOTH parents. both while fighting kaiju.

even though it wasn’t established in the main manga i have to wonder if he saw himself just a little seeing her break down like that given he also lost his parents in a kaiju attack

and it’s just their shared similarity of wanting (needing) to meet isao’s expectations - kikoru because she was raised to do so as his daughter (and after hikari died he had to be the one to harden his heart and toughen her up) and narumi because isao gave him a chance

their mentor/mentee relationship really makes me happy tbh and i think it’s developed really well i hope we get a second season just so i can see it animated 🥹 they mean a lot to me and with isao gone i think they do mean a lot or each other too

i also think it’s crazy how the words isao said to narumi is what he tells kikoru now… kaiju no8 really is about the full cycles and parallels and taking your chances </3

finally playing with freminet in my main team since i got him c1 and oughaofien oh my god i forgot how shota coded he is. i wanna fuck him SO bad. also??? him and ciel fucking??? as two bottoms who dont know what to do with eachother and being laughed at and humiliated for being so clueless and dumb???? thats all i can think about and ouguoeafnauef...

im playing in the new genshin area too with my main team minus charlotte and with freminet instead (so the other 3 are fischl, neuvi and nahida) and im just picturing freminet getting absolutely fucked silly by the guard statues and fischl and neuvi just being like "first time?" since ive had them on my team for so long and nahida just standing there mortified because she knows shes next hehehehe

what’s some of your favourite things abt sun and moon?

well for starters their voice is really good ♡

but one of my absolute favorite things about them is how heavily their design influences how they act, while also reflecting them as a character

cause their face is literally like a mask they can't take off.. so they have to perform and exaggerate their own emotions to compensate for it, or risk coming off as unexpressive and creepy. but in doing this, they make themselves into their own caricature and it becomes doubtful how much of their perfomance is actually sincere or not..... plus the fact we don't know how truly separate they are leads to a lot of different ways to interpret them, which i really enjoy

it also makes the book's backstory of them coming from the theater make so much sense, because then all of this is actually contextualized and makes sense!!

plus they literally have comedy and tragedy mask collectibles in the game... and those masks are also on the banner for the theater anyway... so it'd be fair to assume it's at least somewhat canon regardless of what's in the books lmao
