i havent read yet, i havent been able to scrounge up the money to buy (hopefully soon!!) but im super excited to buy and read for many reasons, this among them!!

but just, seeing characters with limb differences who are still cool and important and often seem powerful.. it just gives me hope and makes me feel seen!! fantasy is my ansolute favorite genre, but im disabled and i havent found much fantasy stuff that includes disabled characters at All, i can count on one hand the amount of disabled characters ive seen in fantasy stuff :,)

i dont have a limb difference myself (degenerative disc disease and worsening hearing for me) but seeing ANY disabled character is just so lovely, it brings me joy :,) so thank you for including characters with disabilities!!!! it doesnt go unnoticed, and its heavily appreciated and wonderful to see!!

it also makes me curious, do you have any characters in the under garden who are disabled in other ways?? vision, hearing, mobility related conditions, etc? having just one type of disability repped is also amazing regardless of if you have others of course, im just curious :)

The Under Garden has a couple of separate "storylines" with their own casts and we haven't set everything in stone for most of them, so take this with a grain of salt. Amongst primary and secondary cast, we have a couple of people with disabilities/chronic pain from injuries, medical complications, etc, some more explicitly shown than others. Technically Ashton, for instance, has a degenerative condition (loosely linked to the idea of butterflies having a very short lifespan after cocooning) and it's a big part of his role in the story overall

There's other instances of characters that could potentially have parallels to real world illnesses or disabilities but they're so intertwined with magical/fantasy mechanics that it's up to each reader to see how they feel about it.

Oh and we're toying with the idea of one of our main characters having a severe hearing impediment but it's a WIP because it might actually affect the plot

i dont have all the characters but i do a big dump about nami and usopp !

nami and nojiko are androids, specifically companions. bellemere raised them as daughters from the moment she got them. having 8 years with each other, of course they become a real family !!! bellemere planned on saving up to get them their adult bodies at some point

when arlong comes along, it wouldve been so easy for them to fly under the radar because of how “sentient” androids were almost unheard of. arlong wouldn’t have known any better if they’d all played along. bellemere, however, refused to let her girls be reduced to just robots. they’re her daughters, she raised them, and that will never change. look at how they’re crying, how they’re even screaming—what could be more human than that ? those are her daughters and theyre alive !!

arlong decides nami could be of use to him and gifts her (forces her to use) her adult body. he even goes the extra mile to burn his symbol on their beforehand. nami loathes it; she was supposed to get it from bellemere and no one else. they didnt even bother to get nojiko hers, just nami’s. sometimes she just wants rip her arm off. it’s not like it’d kill her anyway

the entire time shes going around gathering money for cocoyashi, she’s fighting her own programming. being a companion, it’s in her nature to want to have someone to stick with and help, but she forces herself to take care of nothing but her own needs. she never stays around someone long enough to be assigned to them. that is, until she meets the straw hats

theres something about them that makes her want to slow down, to lower her guard. maybe it’s the way none of the humans care that she isnt like them, or that the captain himself is an android like her, a companion like her, but she wants to care for them, wants to see them happy, and that’s what tells her she needs to leave. she doesn’t think androids can assign themselves to another android, even though the captain and the long nose one seem close, but she flees before she can find out

(and that’s another thing i forgot to add in the first post !!! ace and luffy sort of assigned the other to themselves; they see each other as another human companion that needs their help and protection. they’re the crazy ones for that because thats like. insane to do. it takes force)

and just like canon, luffy chases her down and kicks arlong’s ass, no matter how many times his body nearly gets ripped apart

usopp is technically a builder, but he was a bit altered when yasopp gave him to banchina before leaving. there wasn’t much to build on an island such as syrup, so his version of it became taking care of banchina. if the only building he could do was build her happiness, then that’s what he’d do

when banchina passes, it leaves him without a real purpose, since he was sorta made just for her. androids that have this happen to them are often treated as defective. he reverted back to building little things for himself since he was still made to build, he just has feelings now. meeting kaya, however, sorta kicks him bakc into that caretaker mindset and he does with her what he did with banchina.

ANYWAY this is getting long but meeting the straw hats is like one of thevery few times usopp has ever seen other androids. he doesnt really bond in the same way companion models do, but he can still get attached, and that’s what he does. he kinda has o idea how to fight but the kuro ordeal works out. setaxhing from his programming but not his purpose, usopp’s constantly offering to make or fix things for them.

bonus ! remember tht concept art of nami with a metal arm ? after nami shreds her shoulder in arlong park, she basically renders it useless, and usopp offers to make her an entirely new one, one that’s just her. that concept art metal arm is the arm she gets

(another small bit of info: i think i’ll keep most of the ofhers the same, but im not sure yet. i know i want zoro, sanji, and robin human. speaking of robin, she always felt more at ease around androids since they were never able to look at her and immediately think “devil child,” even if most of them lacked emotions and were just doing what they were made for. despite that, she can’t help but be shocked by luffy, even through a foreign sense of comfort and amusement.)

Hi!!! Thank you for being my first ask :DD

DID has a very large range of presentations, and it can be very difficult to show the symptoms to the outside world. Some comics like “Pipe up” (@/pipeupcomic) do a really good job at showcasing a more extreme level of DID separation: completely amnesia barriers between individual and separate alter identities.

While I personally do experience some occasions like this, a lot of the time I don’t have an actual identity. I am just about as clueless of who I am as a person outside of me would be. The barriers between alters are very muddled, and I often don’t realize I was someone else until a switch happens—the amnesia of days, weeks, or months being the only key signifier of someone else fronting.

I can only talk about my experience as a DID system who went through trauma, so I do not know enough about plurality outside of this to give you info on that. If any other systems/plurals would like to help give advice and explain their experiences, feel free to whether dming the person, reblogging, or commenting! Here are some more specific examples I can provide:

Character experiences situations that trigger their traumas

1st person view: The person could experience flashbacks of the traumatic events; there could be descriptions of multiple voices muddling the head and causing distress; someone may get switched in and be able to slightly “hear” the mess, but it’s not clear; can feel the emotions of everyone so their head feels like it is being pulled apart (this is more internal so it is a bit difficult to do)

3rd person view: The character could be seen as “zoning out” with no real apparent emotion; they may start to cry and regress to a smaller version of themselves; they may fidget a lot and appear “normal” because a lot of these battles are internal

Character experiences a switch:

1st person view: They can feel their moods and behaviors change either rapidly or slowly; They could realize they remember nothing of the day and have completely forgotten everything; There could be talking and conversation between characters, especially if there is more than one.

An experience with switching I have had was one of my alters couldn’t do any of the work in a class and started crying, so someone else switched in and took over and was able to do the task (still have amnesia with what happened before that period real bad). For me, people can see my switches better than I could know them, so it is sometimes easier to do 3rd person to show this

3rd person view: Their mannerisms change; their tone of voice changes; Their posture could change; They could take off their makeup or change some clothing to fit themselves better; Someone could bring up something that happened earlier in the day and the other person looks confused (it doesn’t have to be big things).

Character experiences intrusions:

1st person view: Sometimes there is internal dialogue between differing voices; Sometimes it is just feelings that the fronter does not relate to; They could have multiple people working in the front, making it difficult to make decisions; There could be full blown arguments and discussions on how each alter feels about a situation (this one is definitely a big thing for us)

3rd person view: The person may rub their head or look down and make some slight noise; They could be completely zoned out and unable to connect to anything; There may be “rapid switching” between what seems like 2 or more different alters; They may just say “I dont know” in a disconnected way to many questions since they are unable to make decisions

Under the cut, I’ll provide some more in depth explanations and also resources—some of which my fellow systems may like—that may be useful! (This one is a bit longer, but it is definitely crucial to making good representation!!)

While community labels like OSDD-1a and OSDD-1b are kind of useful, they are not exactly diagnostic labels. P-DID is a diagnostic label in countries outside of the U.S. (ICD-11) and would most likely be considered OSDD-1 inside the U.S.

There are some systems who are mainly comprised of one specific name but different “variants” of personality to a said name (Their personalities and behaviors could range, but they still feel like they are relatively “the same part”). You may see this one referenced to as OSDD-1a in the community if you are interested in this specific experience of dissociation.

Other systems may know they have completely different identities, but the amnesia between one another is not completely stable nor definitive. I have met systems that have had complete black out amnesia barriers, but most of the systems I know have some levels of amnesia (specifically grey or black outs). This one is referenced to as OSDD-1b in the community.

Some systems have only one fronter/host who experiences intrusions from other parts. They rarely if not ever switch, but there are separate parts that may cause slight amnesia. I don’t think I can speak on this one very well, but this is the experience of P-DID systems and I strongly recommend asking them for their experiences!

Polyfragmented systems—which I do not recommend trying to express this experience without directly talking to someone with this level of fragmentation—can have high alter counts and often split “fragments” of identity. These fragments hold very specific information or duties, and they may merge back into the system once the issue is covered. I also will not be able to talk about this experience because I do not believe it is my own experience.

Sometimes alter roles and system terms can be useful in figuring out how you want to showcase an alter/part or splitting experience.

Some common things I want to emphasize is:

1) Everyone uses different language for their experience (system vs plural, parts vs alters vs headmates, etc.) so this can range;

2) “Core” terms are not fully supported anymore from what I have seen in research literature because there isn’t really a “core,” so stay away from it even if they are still used in some books or older research;

3) Persecutors are not “evil alters,” they are a reaction towards traumatic experiences, are in deep pain, and often hold a lot of the traumatic memories of the system. This does not excuse them of bad behavior, but it does explain why they feel the need to “protect”;

4) Stay away from depicting a system—or system member—as a “villain,” this is a very overdone trope and it would be amazing to see this condition be acknowledged more as a debilitating mental illness than an evil monster;

5) Some of the resources I share may be using outdated terminology, but a good rule of thumb is that it is always DID not “MPD” or “split personality”, dissociative amnesia not “repressed memories,” sometimes the discussion of “false memories” can be problematic but this depends. This is also a dissociative disorder, not a personality disorder, which is a very important distinction when it comes to understanding these conditions;

6) Trauma is highly subjective, and there are forms of trauma that do not get recognized or addressed as much as needed (constant emotional neglect—especially since emotional neglect usually follows physical abuse—is just as or if not more important than physical abuse scenarios). Trauma can come from sexual/physical/emotional abuse and other things like oppression, childhood hospitalizations, parental deaths and grief, poverty, etc..

Dissociation is just a coping mechanism of taking everything “inwards” and sometimes this is dividing it across multiple pieces to survive. Often people with DID will downplay the trauma they experienced because it was all they knew, so many people look at us with shock and horror when they learn the stuff we said was “not a big deal.” From what we know, DID’s formation in ages has a range between 7 being the youngest to 12 being the oldest I’ve seen. It is really good to keep in mind that you could even be an infant and start forming DID (emotional neglect is fucking evil).

Anyway, that was really long but I got super excited to yap about this a bit :) Here’s some resources that may help you with writing and some good testimonies!

The Dos and Dont’s of Fake Dating | Meet the OC

So, some of you are already in the know that - although my fic is written as x reader - Ice Princess is very much an OC to me, and I've always approached her as such.

Now that Dos & Don'ts is over, I thought it might be fun to finally introduce my dear Cassandra Masters to the world! Buckle up for a long post everyone~

Further Info About Cassandra

Remember in chapter 15 when Ice Princess chose the name Elvira for her d&d character? Well, that was my way of referencing the fact that my beloved Mistress of the Dark is where I got Cass's name from (Elvira is a stage name, and the incredible actress behind her is Cassandra Peterson!)

Eddie is the only person allowed to call her Cass, and if anyone else tries using the nickname they may face her wrath. She LOATHES being called Cassie, something I imagine her old friends used to do just to annoy her.

Although I decided on Katharine Isabelle as Cass's face claim (solely because she served CUNT in Ginger Snaps), I actually drew inspiration from many women, and even in my head Cass doesn't look like any one person in particular. Others who inspired her look include Jennifer Connelly, Jane Seymour, Emmanuelle Beart, Daniela Melchoir, and Ornella Muti. As for characters, I often pictured Heather Duke from Heathers and Dana from Batman Beyond for inspiration as well.

What Didn't Make It Into the Fic

As mentioned in chapter 14, Cass's first kiss was with Steve Harrington at a party when she was about 12 years old. In my happy little AU where bad things never happen in ST4, they become friends after the initial shock of discovering Cass is dating Eddie and Steve is friends with the Freshmen.

Cass falls in love with d&d, and she attends most of the game sessions.

Once Cassandra starts spending more time at the Munson house, she becomes close with Max after recognizing her from school. Max isn't interested in making new friends - considering that she's still grieving from ST3, but Cass wins her over. Cass unintentionally takes on something of a big sister role for Max.

If life worked a little differently, Cass and Chrissy would've become friends.

After graduation, Cass and Janet start to hang out again - Cass then tries to get Janet and Gareth together (they end up having a lil fling later that year, though who knows where it'll go).

Just Some Fun Facts

In my early drafts - before I settled on the fake dating trope - I had the idea that Cassandra always had a crush on Eddie. I always knew she was going to be a popular, bitchy rich girl, but she was more blatantly drawn to the "bad boy." As I developed the story and plot further, I flipped their roles, and instead it became Eddie who was always a little into Cass.

I knew almost from the start that I wanted Cass to be into figure skating, even before I determined anything else about her (name, look, etc). I loved the idea of Eddie being paired with someone totally opposite of him, but I didn't want to go the more typical cheerleader route - I briefly thought she'd be a dancer, but then figure skating came to me, and it ended up informing a lot of her personality.

I wanted to give Cassandra more interests and depth, and so I decided to make her a closet horror fan due to my own love of horror. As she gets older, horror definitely becomes an even bigger part of her personality, and, unexpectedly, she eventually stumbles into the job of make-up effects artist for films, photoshoots, television, etc.

Cass knows very little about music, so she'll confuse artists/songs constantly ("Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd sound NOTHING alike, why do you think they're the same band?" is a type of question that comes up regularly, amongst others). She also loves to play dumb about music just to see Eddie get worked up. The one artist she does actively listen to and love is David Bowie, and that only starts up after she sees Labyrinth and becomes thoroughly obsessed.

Cassandra definitely gets into witchcraft in the 90s. Pop culture witches of the 80s/90s just appeal to her (or maybe I'm just saying that because they appeal to me).

Could I keep going on and on and on about Cass and Eddie? You bet your ass I could, but I'll spare everyone for now. I'm sure I'll be making more of these posts in the future, especially if I'll be writing more in the future (which I am def planning on)!

i post about ships a lot! metalocalypse-wise, i like narles and chickles the most. i like / don’t mind pretty much any ship except for nickles & mmag which i don’t like due to personal preference. if i “don’t mind” a ship i either dont have a problem seeing it or i don’t have an opinion on it, negative or otherwise.

postal-wise, i like a lot of dudedude ships, my favorites are p2 x p4 and p2 x p3 though ^_^! i also love nottemdude and dukedude.

tf2-wise there are a lot of ships, but my ultimate favorites are gentle surgery, bloodysuit, which is why one of my art credits read as bloodiedsuit (and since that’s my tiktok handle), and pretty much any medic ship that isn’t heavymedic (due to personal preference). i also like every selfcest ship in tf2 since no one knows you better than yourself! honorable mentions go to heavysoldier, heavyspy & heavy metal

yakuza-wise i enjoy kiryu/date, majima/date, majima/kashiwagi, hanawa/kiryu, ichiban/yamai, kiryu/yamai, date/yamai, ichiban/adachi/nanba, the list just goes on. i’m a big shipper. i dislike kiryu/majima due to personal preference.

i am a future psychology student so i tend to latch onto deranged, insane or irredeemable characters (such as magnus, sagawa, tsurumi, DIO(?) and jimmy from mouthwashing), but i never have and never will condone anything that any character i like / enjoy has done. i simply like analyzing their characters and their writing.

genuinely, drawing scar today was like a breath of fresh air, like returning to your home after being away for a long time, that sort of thing. i love recks au so much, and i don't say it enough but im very grateful that you guys love it as well, i don't think recks au would've ever become anything if not thanks for your support

don't know about low-quality hdgbdbs, though i've been scrolling through the recks au folder looking at old stuff and god... things used to be much simpler... but i do want to maybe tell more info through just text and maybe graphs and stuff, to stop forcing myself to try and do everything through comic (since im not drawing any of the comics i just stress about it). i dont know where that idea even came from, looking at how the au started it was all infographics and doodles and text, why did i start pressuring myself i have no idea. i really like the infographics too, i think they play into the whole vibe of the more technological setting. man.

so yeah, not promising anything, but hopefully recks au will appear more often. i still have a lot of old drawings that have never seen the light of day to post, and characters to introduce and rambles to ramble, so who knows what will happen (but hopefully at least something will indeed happen)

A little bit I won't lie LOL but that's kind of how it is at this point I guess

I actually remember someone asking me about what year the au takes place in and I've been thinking about it a ton. Because I know Psychonauts says it takes place in 80s but at the same time the first game feels more reminiscent of the early 2000s to me. In my head, both the AU and canon games take place in an amalgamation of different eras without having an exact date, if that makes sense. I will admit that my AU definitely leans a lot more into 2000s media, style and overall vibe, or at least that's how I view it.

So while there isn't a set timeline, I do have a timeline of certain events that happen.

When Raz is around 19-20 he goes to college for 2 or 3 years and that's where he befriends Chloe. When he's 24 he spends the summer performing with his family again and then he returns to Psychonauts work and getting reacquainted with old friends.

Time for some Lili posting yay. Lili herself is trying to be more than just "the grand heads daughter" or the typical damsel/female love interest the media wants her to be. A lot of young girls really look up to her because of it. You go girl ❤️

Also I kind of play around with characters outfits a ton, I'm sure people have noticed. I do have certain outfits that are my go-to when drawing the AU guys, but I also like giving them a diverse wardrobe. I know for Raz I have his leather jacket and pants that he wears over his green jumpsuit which is more of a mission outfit. I actually have mission alts for Mikhail, Dogen and Lili too. The other one's I have for Raz are more like casual stuff he wears around. But I can't not give him a trench coat sometimes. He deserves it ❤️ also gave him his helmet back. A new helmet that he switches between wearing. It's not as fitting or sturdy as his old one but it actually fits him so it's good enough.

Originally I had Nils, Elka, Maloof and Mikhail as antagonists but I've decided to make it that while they aren't villains their methods as agents aren't very... That- morally good? Both Nils and Elka tend to stick around the offices, while Maloof and Mikhail do the more dirty work on missions. Nils has the charisma and snark of a sleazy lawyer, usually using his Clairvoyance to see how people view him and using it to his advantage. He also uses it to see how people view themselves and can pull some pretty dirty and manipulative tricks with that. Elka herself is able to pull strings to get her way because of One: nepotism, since similarly to the Booles and Zanottos, the Dooms are big names within the Psychic community. And two: Because of her husband (which is Nils, obviously). She's able to weasel her way into getting certain missions cleared that benefit her more than the Psychonauts, and sends Maloof and Mikhail to take care of it, and Nils will stay behind to cover for her. Raz is the only one who's caught on/ really cares and attempts to stop her, but foils to do so unfortunately. It leads to him and Elka butting heads often.

On the topic of Nils and Elka, I also feel like mentioning that they have a bunch of kids lol. So do Dion and Gisu. They three triplet girls and maayyybe a baby boy. Idk tho

Bringing up Nils and Elka yet again, while they are married and have kids they're not really happy together. Shocker I know. They mostly stay together purely for business reasons and not really because they love each other. I won't lie and say that there wasn't at least a little affection when starting but it has long since died out. Nils is still pretty sleazy and is constantly flirting with other women. Elka doesn't really mind as long as she doesn't see it. She mostly gets upset because she thinks it's a bad look and not really because her HUSBAND is getting cozy with other people. One of Nils "friends" is actually Milka who, after breaking up with Elton in their teens, has a horrible taste in men.

alternate (taking this question as. vigilante (archie n simon) and western (gene and cassidy) universe swap)

simon:

in the western universe, simon would most definitely be the overworked town doctor's assistant. he'd be sporting the typical 1860s doctor's suit of course (and he'd rock it too) with the little stethoscope and everything. he'd basically just be helping the actual doctor with anything they needed and would be equally as exhausted as he is in his own universe (this guy will never catch a break)

he would have a pretty similar relationship to archie (he is still a vigilante, i'll get to that don't worry) in the sense that he stays extra hours in the office to patch him up and frequently checks in on him to make sure he is okay. simon is just as smitten in this universe too, and sometimes tells archie that his condition is worse than it is so he'll stay a few extra days in the clinic..

archie:

vigilantes did exist in the wild west (albeit in a very different way), so that part will remain consistent with archie. i decided for the sake of the au that archie doesn't have any special abilities other than just. good genetics (i know its a big part of his identity but shhh cowboy archie).

SO he is a simple stable boy by day, vigilante by night. he patrols the streets for any criminal activity and operates outside of the law to keep the public safe, and of course, he knows a certain doctor's assistant will always be there to take care of him when things get rough. he comes to really enjoy his company and the rest is history

cassidy:

this guy. he is a sly fellow. my mind immediately went to him being in some kind of underground mafia-esque business with similar motives to the outlaw gang. with his charisma, he can get just about anyone to reveal anything and has no reservations on scamming those that deserve it.

montana still exists in this au (unfortunately) and would probably be dictating the kind of missions cassidy needs to go on and who he needs to talk to. cassidy goes undercover a lot to very extravagent dinners and parties for info and stuff like that so he's often seen dressed to the nines or pretending to be someone he isn't and of course he has run-ins with gene because. that guy is after him!!! and he hates him (no he doesn't) because he doesn't want anyone interfering with montana and the group's plans

gene:

ok so after much deliberation, i decided that gene is a private investigtor for underground crime organizations. much like simon, he is equally as tired and overworked in this universe as he is in his own. very much a caffeine addict.

anyways, he is also going undercover very often to find and gain information on cassidy and the rest of the group, which can lead to some,, very Tense Situations (i'm thinking. very fancy dinner. the two get sat at the same table and cant make a scene, but they both have important jobs to do and are also threats to eachother. just imagine them trying to have a cordial conversation while being aware they have guns pointed at eachother under the table.)

bling for cassidy (what jewelry does your oc wear? does it have any meaning?

any jewels or gold he has have a 99.8% chance of being stolen. and to him, that's what makes them so significant and meaningful. he only takes jewelry from people he deems as having done unforgivable acts and wears them as a badge of honor for either locking them away for life or. killing them. i'm gonna give a little rundown of his most notable pieces that he wears!

gold ring with an embedded sapphire: stolen from a crooked sheriff in another town that was overtaxing his people to the point that people were collapsing in the street from starvation

gold watch: stolen from from a man that was cheating on his wife while also physically abusing her and their child

gold pocket watch (can you tell he likes gold): stolen from a preacher that was caught embezzling funds and also taking advantage of some of the younger women

pinched front hat: not jewelry, but an important accessory. one of the few things montana gave him when he was a boy. it was too big for him then, but he's grown into it much like his role in montana's plots. for better or for worse.

as for does he flaunt it, he absolutely does. he wears them all loud and proud and as a way to tell the world he's not the scared, helpless little boy he once was. that he's made something of himself.

motion for archie (how does your oc move? how does their clothing help or hinder their range of motion? are they flexible, coordinated, clumsy?)

when dressed as vigil, archie is very deft in his movements. in and out of costume, he has very fast reflexes and reaction times and when hes focused on patrol, they're even faster. he is strong, quick, and very intentional when engaging in combat and it sometimes even looks choreographed when he's in the zone

out of costume, its a bit different. he has to make a constant effort to look like he isn't as strong as he is, so he tends to look stiff when doing things that would take effort from a normal person (for example, he has to pretend to struggle when carrying heavy grocery bags, or act like he's winded after going up several flights of stairs)

canvas for simon (does your oc have any scars, piercings, tattoos, or other markings? do they display or cover them up at all?)

OOOH this one is fun. SO.

simon has a septum piercing, which seems a bit out of character because it is. he was sort of peer-pressured into getting one with his high-school friends and after a brief period of panic and figuring out how to hide it from his parents, he decided he actually liked it and kept it

as for scars and tattoos, he has a small scar on his cheek from The Kidnapping Incident, but he doesn't mind it much. its hardly noticeable (but archie notices it. he notices it very much)

and tattoos! i don't simon is the type to have any presently, but i can definitely see him getting some in the future. i feel like he'd want a matching one with archie, but archie does Not do needles so that's out of the question. he'd probably get something medical to celebrate once he finishes his residency. i'm thinking an anatomically correct heart on his sternum (OUCH) or a scalpel on his wrist. he'd think that was sick.

archie would try to go with him for moral support. he wouldn't last 5 minutes once the artists starts inking.

formal for gene (what's your oc's formal look? do they like dressing up? do they have different looks for different occasions?)

so gene is already pretty dressed up in his typical day-to-day life because. it was the 1800s. BUT if he had to dress up even fancier for an event? this man cleans up nicely.

i can see gene in a very nice brown wool three-piece suit with a dignified tail coat and a top hat. he's pretty ok with getting dressed up, as long as he's not drinking. he gets overheated very easily when tipsy and a wool suit isn't exactly known for its ventilation

as for cassidy, yes. yes he would absolutely wear a skirt. sometimes when the morale is low in the gang. he'll steal one of the ladies' dresses and put it on and act silly with the little kids to make them laugh (and he honestly kind of enjoys it too. it's nice to get dolled up. when his hair was longer, he let the ladies braid it and put flowers in it)

(and he's still genuinely attached to and proud of jackson. melts my heart). outside of that i've oc-ified him to death and Non and i have an entire thing where we've made him some freak who befriends tens of thousands of spiders and is able to speak spider-language and can thus communicate with any spider. he is also full of spiders (in his cab). why? for Because. stanley! hes such a sweetie pie?? i really adore that that the founder of RS is some gentle-hearted goofball. that and the symbolism of his statue being the thing that ensnares lightning and refuses to let him leave? chefs kiss. stanley knows what he's about. you have been chosen! roscoe. i dont know anything about him other than he seems like kind of a funny guy. his design is also very cool.

i loove when all the racing rivals sass each other. its so hilarious to me. goofy bitches talking smack about other goofy bitches. on the flipside, that gentle-firm way smokey treats lightning always gets me. lightning shows up finally after ~12 years, lost and confused, and smokey has that arsenal of what hud's boy is like from those letters. his kindness to lightning (and thus to doc) is one of my fav parts of the third act of cars 3. stabs me right in the heart [in the good way] whenever a character treats lightning well. As for ships, im a bigole multishipper and polyshipper. these cars are horny and im mashing them all together and its hilarious. some of my fav ships are mchicks, salqueen, lightningstorm, and kaciao (incl.sally). one of my funniest crackships is lightning x mack, tho i dont ship them anymore its funny to me. oh also a fan of darrel/bob and sherdoc. these bitches gay. (and queer flomone and sargemore and luido and cruznat. all canon 2 me. materqueen is also very cute. everyone in RS is queer. calqueen and treadstorm are also neat. im aroace so shipping is like weird fluff science to me, i just want them to be happy.)

For fics... it's gotta be The Curve by @/Whipplefilter. i try not to reread it too often but i think i read it like 3x back in may. the extended action scene of the most recent few chapters is one of the most fun things in the world to me. love the thrills and character development. Takes place during the cars 3 epilogue, lightning-centric (cruz and jackson play big roles too!). my other fav alltime fic is one thats been updating slowly since 2009... you all know the one: Forgotten Highways. Chick-centric: his childhood trauma resurfaces, and it spins into 4 interwoven plotlines as Chick’s struggles ripple through the lives of his friends and foes. Presently ends on the craziest cliffhanger in another thrilling chapter i absolutely love. rq since ive seen a general sentiment rise online in the past year hating on wips and i dont wanna hear that negativity-lip ANYWHERE in this fandom; fanfiction is free fanlabor posted out of passion and love. they are exempt from criticism unless Explicitly asked for by OP. this isnt novel-based academia, this is Fandom [dont like? don't read!]. i love wips. support your fic authors and other fan-creators!! another classic is this short animation by @/hillbillyhell :

Literally like!! Genshin fandom has actually been one of the worse fandom experiences for me, and I think we can blame a lot of it on the game and its translation, but also it’s just so goddamn frustrating at times. That klc post was written before hidden strife but if anything the event further confirmed that their dynamic wasn’t ‘adopted siblings’ (despite eng translation as usual messing up everything including Kaeya’s opinion of their fight) and that Kaeya doesn’t view himself as a Ragnvindr. 

An AU where Kaeya would have been fully adopted could be potentially interesting, actually! Ragbros AU if you will. But for some reason people never really go for all the implications of that - how strongly it would influence Kaeya’s internal conflict and his abandonment issues, how Diluc would change his treatment of Kaeya, how differently another Ragnvindr progeny would be viewed in Mondstadt, would he succeed the Dawn Winery’s business, so many possibilities... But no, they simply take canon klc dynamic and twist it, ignoring all the discrepancies which point to a non-familial relationship. That tag is just one more annoying attempt at censure within fandom spaces, familiar to anyone who ever interpreted fictional relationships as homoerotic before (how dare you tarnish this beautiful brotherly or sisterly bond by your sinful delusions etc etc yawn). And big agree about Hidden Strife letters, they still represent the usual dynamic as is the norm for all those temporary events. But fandom sadly tends to go for extreme interpretations, either the characters totally hate each other or they are secretly totally fine and getting along splendidly... I guess maybe people are getting tired of this kind of one-sided relationship, so they want some kind of resolution one way or another, but I kind of like the place Kaeya and Diluc are in right now. It would be nice to get some more Diluc POV just to confirm whether he cares in a detached way or in a barely suppressed passionate & deep way, and/or if perhaps he does carry some hateful feelings towards Kaeya, but otherwise it’s just a really good starting off point for creating fan content.  Speaking only for myself, but it’s all the more bittersweet that there is a possibility that they won’t reconcile after all, that their paths might diverge, that their ideologies might already be irreconcilable without us knowing, that Diluc maybe doesn’t really care that much after all. With this in mind, positive outcomes such as reconciliation, a romantic relationship or a rekindling of friendship, are so much more impactful.

The Scribbles Family

This is gonna be a big ol post that is about a series me and some friends are working on! !Disclaimer!

Any and all info and art in this post and that is posted is subject to change due to it being a wip!

So! here are some notes on the series so far! we are currently focusing on the characters more and the plot less, the plot will come later on since this series is only a few months old.

Notes (not set in stone canon)

- mother nature is the true all powerful being of earth, being the most powerful on earth ( not more powerful than the celestials) she has set rules that keep the order and she rules over those rules with an iron fist- however some of said rules are quite outdates so if she gets a valid enough argument against them that appeals to her values as well she may concider changing them or updating them but no matter what she does what is best for earth itself. She is still fighting against the humans but due to her own rule she is not allowed to harm them by her own hands so she must instead use animals, plants and natural disasters as a way to prevent them from continuing to destroy the earth however most attempts are in vein. She cannot stop the streams of tears in her eyes until the earth is restored to its natural and healthy state , with or without the humans civilizations.

-In this universe angels actual species name is seraphim , humans got NOTHING about them right in any way Including that “god” wasn’t actually the leader nor the creator, he was made up the story as a way to not only protect his son from being killed since a seraphim and a human is strictly forbidden. He made the religion as a way to make it seem like another example of humans being dumb and trying to find excuses to put them as gods However when it was shown that Jesus had the abilities of a seraphim , a group known as the council quickly went into human disguises and orchestrated his death by turning the people against him

The reasoning for wendigos looking different in the "scribbles" family: In this universe, both modern and traditional wendigos are semi the same just different forms taken, They chose these forms as a survival mechanism. In this universe PURE wendigos such as wendigo himself ( he goes by many names but is the original wendigo SPIRIT) Survive because of the MEMORY of them, so if they are not remembered as the native interpretations their form changes to whatever they are perceived as, the more that remember them the stronger they are.

This is based on storm's idea as well as the idea that saying their names draws them in.

I wanted to give both the original native depiction some love as well as the western to show that there is a difference however both are just as valid when it comes to interpretations as long as we do not forget the original and where it came from. The reason the younger generation are in the more traditional form is due to them being hybrids meaning they dont rely on the memory of them to keep them alive so their appearance depends on their preferences, they are shapeshifters however they have their limits.

-mother nature has set ancient rules that she is bound to in order to both exist and allow the earth to live but also has the ability to change said rules if given a proper argument that will be valid enough to change said rules

-celestials run the "heavens" (space and pocket dimensions within the universe itself) and are often strict and almost emotionless but still can be silly and their personalities leak through depending on the person theyre talking to

-the celestials are 2 beings who can fuse into one named the mended ( nicknamed the eclipse by maihem/miah) -celestials dont care for the concept of gender but use pronouns as an easier way for mortals and other beings to refer to them

-There are eldritch horrors that carry pockets of power that allow them to fullfill roles that are needed, there are multiples of the same role because there cannot be one single being to watch over it, that would be impossible

-Cryptids must hide from humans due to how hostile humans can be towards things they dont understand ( and its one of mother nature's rules for them to be seperate

Ikemen Vampire and their Godly parents

Inspired by Percy Jackson.

Mozart: Apollo

Son of the God of light, of sun, of music, of truth, of poetry, and arts. May not be a leader but set trends. I will start with the most obvious fact and that is Mozart’s talent for music, as all of us know Apollo’s children are exceptional for the arts in general. Mozart is not someone that tends to laugh frequently but as a good children of Apollo, you can hear the sound of what it could be beautiful Bells when he does, and a smile as warm as the sun. Because of his prolonged time on practicing he sometimes has little to none sunlight, that makes him really moody (more than he already is) so taking some walks or playing with Schelm in the garden are necessary for his health even if he claims to not need it.

Not all of Apollo’s children are blond, some of them have physical traits that are related to the sun such as freckles, warm skin subtones, and even if their hair is black if you see it in the sun light you can see a golden or brownish reflection on their hair, in Mozart’s case if we see carefully there’s also warm subtones such as beige, and pink :

While other white haired characters have cold undertones like blue:

Because of Mozart’s incredible fair skin it’s easy for him to get freckles. Apollo’s children are lie detectors, as they say, you cannot cover the sun with your thumb, Mozart knows from miles away when someone is lying.

Apollo’s children are scary when they get mad, be aware of what they could do when they lose control, just like Mozart, it may seem like he’s always angry but he actually isn’t, when he’s angry you will know.

Apollo’s kids are naturally over dramatic, they turn everything into inspiration for music, plays, etc. remember that time when Mozart said that dry things like cookies are his “worst enemy”? Just because Marie Antoinette gave him a bunch of them, he didn’t know what to do and decided it was a good idea to stuff everything in his mouth...

Isaac: Athena

Goddess of wisdom, handicraft, knowledge and warfare. Children of Athena are gifted with a sharp and brilliant mind. Do I have to say more ? Isaac is a genius, he has an incredible hunger for knowledge, and curiosity that makes him discover the most incredible things in this world. Children of Athena enjoy reading a good book and most of the time you can see them lost in their thoughts.

We know that Athena’s children can be street smart and book smart, the majority likes to be street smart since they already have a facility to keep info from books, but in the case of our apple boy he’s chosen to be book smart, this kind of children tend to have difficulties to relate to others and create deep bonds since their brilliant minds make them feel detached from the world that surrounds them.

Napoleon : Zeus

Charismatic

Natural leaders

Children of Zeus are the leaders struggling with the pressure of being leaders. Since they are such a reliable people, their friends usually seek for them when they need help, maybe they are not as wise as a child of Athena, but their empathy makes them good advisers too. They’re strong and resilient.

Serious but yet humorous

Assertive

Children of Zeus are prideful, they like to tease others but when the tables turn they don’t really know how to react (not like they are doormats but more like in a teasing way something like pikachu face: “you ... you just teased the son of the lightening.. right in front of my salad” that kind of reaction. It’s actually kind of cute 😂

They can be flighty or warm, depends of the person they are dealing with and their mood.

Physically traits could be grey, blue or in some cases green eyes. Children of Zeus usually have gray hairs since a young age.

Arthur: Dionysus

God of wine, madness, ecstasy and theatre

Children of Dionysus are sociable, charismatic and the life of the party. The ones with all the connections. They’re the friend that everyone references when they say ‘I know a guy’ and we all know that Arthur knows or at least recognizes a lot of faces in Paris.

Children of Dionysus are not only party people, they are really clever too, people usually don’t give them credit for how smart they really are, but they prefer to keep that intelligence hidden ‘cause they don’t want to intimidate anyone, after all the party needs to continue !

They are the ones you can always count on to have a good time. The best telling jokes and reading the atmosphere of a room. they are the ones you call when you’re upset and just want to forget about reality for a night.

Stubborn, determined and chaotic nature.

Most of Dionysus children are empaths, that’s how they can feel the mood so well and make everyone have a good time, nevertheless if they don’t have a control over this ability it can be bad for their health, appropriating other people's problems or feeling guilty if they cannot help their friends as a good “host” would do.

Another thing, Arthur really seems to enjoy alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine, etc. besides coffee.

Talking about physical traits Dionysus children rock semi long hair, this chill and laid back appearance is the signature of the god of party and wine. Even when they wear formal clothes you can see this relaxed look on them.

I remember one time I read a post where it said that Dionysus children often have the nicest shoes in the room (idk why? 😂) BUT DUDE that’s true, there was also other post where you guys were talking about who had the best taste in shoes and guess who was one of the best fashionistas 👌👌😂

Also, olive undertones, in hair, skin, etc. if we see Arthur’s hair for example, sometimes it doesn’t appear to be entirely blue, it also has olive undertones:

Jean: Hades

God of the underworld

Talking about children of hades we can see that they are not only the “quiet ones” but also people with a sharp intuition. They observe everything and everyone, quietly. Tend to hold grudges and feel out of place, they stay a lot of time inside their heads and because of this children of hades usually have a hard time finding their “meaning in life” or “their place in this world”. Since they are deep they have a difficult time relating to others, meanwhile everyone is talking about the trends of the year, children of Hades are in other Chanel .

They like to be by their own, or maybe with someone that actually understands them.

I think most of the time people only focus on their “dark personality” and forget to appreciate other traits like the incredible willpower that they have to achieve anything that attracts their attention.

Physically talking, as we all know, children of Hades have dark tones in their hair, eyes and skin tone. There’s something cold in their appearance that makes them look intimidating and mysterious

Vincent : Apollo

Do I really need to explain this one ? 😂😂

I will just cover some facts that relate to Apollo’s children since Vincent is like the PERFECT example of what is being an Apollo’s child.

I think Vincent has a BIG potential to learn any instrument that he likes, also archery but I doubt it since he wouldn’t like to hurt anyone.

Is easy for Children of Apollo to tan, just imagine our angel with a beautiful sexy tan 🙌🏻😫✨

EMBODIMENT OF LIGHT

also, Apollo’s children are healers, and Vincent wants not only to help but if possible heal everyone’s suffer, as we can see in his route, he wants to help MC with her anxiety to return to her time nevertheless he’s never too pushy and waits until MC feels prepared to open up to him.

Apollo’s children are people pleasers, in a mini drama, Vicent tells Leonardo that if there was a girl in the mansion he wouldn’t know how to behave, since he only wants to give a good impression.

Leonardo : Hephaestus

Children of Hephaestus , Their minds are constantly working on something and their ideas running wild.

They have SO many ideas that they have dozens of project running AT THE SAME TIME, they can even compete with children of Athena.

Some of this children may not be geniuses but out of their curiosity and hunger for knowledge is because they can become worthy opponents to the other god or goddesses children.

Masters on none, but master of many.

They also got that freaking cheeky smile of their father.

Intelligent, good looking and good jokes.

Physically talking children of Hephaestus have strength in their upper body, just like their father, they have enough strength in their hands, arms and back to carry or forge any metal and turn it into a weapon (or any creation but you get me) what usually makes them have (on males) big shoulders or backs and in females, they have shorter but stronger fingers.

Comte : Aphrodite

Who was the one that fell in love in the middle of war ????

Children of Aphrodite are hopeless romantic, they find beauty and love in the darkest places and times. They are the ones that you go for advice (not the kind of advice you would go to Athena, but one that helps your heart to find a solution).

They like luxury and aesthetic stuff, Comte with all the money that he has could be living his life like Leo, relaxing, giving little attention to appearances, etc. BUT NO

DADDY COMTE NEEDS TO WEAR HIS DIOR PAJAMAS AND RELAX IN A ROMAN BATH THANK YOU. It’s not like he’s superficial, but he just likes to pamper himself.

Children of Aphrodite have charm speak, Idk you but every time Comte speaks is like velvet for my ears. Most of the time people only see Aphrodite’s children as superficial, not so intelligent and unnecessary at battle but they are dead wrong, actually they are really observant and can be manipulative since they understand and almost feel others people emotions and intentions.

Even though their mother is the Goddess of Love, they can hide their emotions pretty well

It is known that Aphrodite’s children can speak fluently French and Oh look at that Comte is French, coincidence ? I DONT THINK SO.

Theo: Ares

God of war

Children of Ares are topically seen as this really short-tempered guy /girl but there’s more about them. I’m gonna start with the basic personality traits, Children of Ares are stubborn as hell, does it reminds you of Theo ? 😅 they are also really protective of those they love, it may not appear like it but they don’t like injustice, so when they see someone that’s being a jerk they fight with everything they got, sometimes they exaggerate tho.

HATES GOSSIP they like to say thing straight to the point and don’t have filter, sometimes they may seem rude but they are just saying the truth

Doesn’t take shit from anyone

Determinant and never gives up, they also give (its rare but they do) advices when they see you really struggling with something, an example of this could be when (in Leo’s route) MC had a hard time deciding what to choose between staying in 19th century France or coming back to her time with Leo, to what Theo noticed her struggling and gave her a brief but nice advice.

HARD ON THE OUTSIDE SOFT ON THE INSIDE

Children of Ares are aware that they intimidate their siblings, that’s why they become silent and prefer to stay in their cabin, but if you want them to open up to you, a nice smile and kind personality would be a great combo to go with them.

Children of Ares are really intelligent, after all their father is also a strategist.

Shakespeare: Hades

Again ... do I have to explain this one ? 😂

Shakespeare is deep af. Children of Hades see the deepest and darkest things in life, that’s why they tend to feel depressed, but because of that they also can see the brightest parts. This contrast usually is embodied in an artistic way, it may be in plays, dancing, singing, stories, etc.

Children of Hades are one of the kindest siblings among all God and Goddesses out there since they know what loneliness feels like.

Dazai: Dionysus

Dionysus was known to be a Reckless, crazy god that resembled freedom and fun. Children of Dionysus are usually found smiling for ... no specific reason, some could say is even scary or suspicious, like if they were drunk 😅.

Dionysus has parties where everyone dances and can fall into madness and ecstasy. Dazai is a sensual man, he has this aura that is just so appealing and comfortable to be with, but he is still a mystery, just like his father. Dyonisus was a god that usually doesn’t get in other’s people problems but it is known that he has a lot of powers, and the majority remains a mystery to humans.

Dazai is someone that craves to feel and be loved, but is scared to be rejected for who he really is, instead of that he prefers to show the “clown facade” that everyone likes, after all is easier to have “company” in a party full of people that you don’t know but they don’t really care about you than opening up to someone and being vulnerable.

People usually describe children of Dionysus as “crazy”

They are normally underestimated, but they have an incredible ability for the arts, they create the most crazy yet deep monologues.

These people tend to get obsessed over things they like, this is somewhat bad for them since they can get addicted to things like alcohol, tobacco, etc.

Talking about physical traits, Dazai is like the perfect definition of a Dionysus child, chill appearance, medium long hair, PURPLE HAIR, likes (maybe a little too much) alcohol, smooth voice.

Sebastian : Demeter

Goddess of agriculture, fertility, nature, and seasons.

Children of Deméter have this motherly figure in their group of friends.

Natural protectors.

Great cooks

They can be really strict at scolding their friends, family etc. but they just want the best for their loved ones.

Children of Deméter aren’t really aggressive, but don’t get in their wrong side which would be trying to hurt their family, because they go havoc.

They have an amazing intuition, just like a good mother.

Their personalities are calm and collected, they may panic on the inside when something bad happens but never let it show.

Deméter children are so aware of the details they are the ones that give the best gifts since they know deeply their loved ones, what they like and what they don’t, again, like a good mother.

Faust: Hecate

Goddess of magic, witchcraft, ghosts, necromancy and crossroads.

Children of Hecate are really intelligent and have an amazing memory, after all they have to memorize dozens of spells.

They usually have lots of books, since they have to know the functionality and sources of the magic they are using.

CU RI O US

They may appear frightening since they face and aesthetic aren’t really welcoming sometimes, but they are actually pretty nice.

SNAKE PERSONALITY

Children of Hecate know how to handle necromancy, which makes them closer to death, that’s why talking about this kind of topics doesn’t scare them.

Children of Hecate can be obsessive, they can stay all day and all night practicing their witchcraft, PLS SOMEONE TAKE THEM OUT OF THEIR ROOM.

They have a different type of aesthetic, maybe is not totally GOTH but there’s something religious or spiritual there, they believe that there is a superior power in the world.

Incredibly good teachers. They may not be as charismatic as Apollo kids, but they are patient and good listeners.

Calm but can be sadists too so be careful.

Vlad : Nemesis

Children of Nemesis, as their mother, tend to hold grudges and is really difficult for them to forget those who wrong them.

They can go ExTrEMe lengths in their revenge, elaborate plans that doesn’t matter how much time they take, they will do it.

Maybe scarier than Children of Ares.

Yandere personality who ?

They are really observant and intelligent, they have the ability to find Achilles ankle of any of their enemies.

Manipulative, that gives them the ability to awake rage on the ones they want like allies.

Curiously children of Nemesis have a strong sense of justice and balance, and they will do anything to carry on with their ideals, even if that means taking extreme measures.

Physically talking there’s always red on them, and I’m talking about red hair, liking for red color, and oh ! Look at that, who has red eyes ??

Charles : Tyche

Goddess of chance, fate and fortune.

I really had a hard time deciding for this one, and I don’t know a lot about him but from what I’ve seen I can say he’s a Tyche’s child.

Children of Tyche are extremely friendly and enthusiastic.

Comes from a murder mystery game called ‘Eagle Eye’, a game similar to your typical 'look around and find clues' murder mystery game. Takes place in London, England

Time period of her game is kinda wonky. Has some victorian stuff, modern stuff, basically Lionel did No research for her game

Was created in Lionel’s high school years for a computer science project. Was never released to the public

Never got more than one case to solve, and is patiently waiting for another

Was found by Jeremiah shortly after Combat Arena X was released (before Secrets of Legendaria was being made). Jeremiah twisted the truth on the abandonment to make Lionel sound like a bad person (well, to make it seem like the abandonment was Lionel being an asshole, and not just a teen being done with an assignment)

After FPP/??? was found and favoured for Jeremiah and Reggie’s narrative, Audie was instead sent to join Gameworks and spy on Irving’s work

Doesn’t reside at the inn, and is not present for Lionel’s death. She can instead be found in Jay’s section of Vicious Galaxy 2 as an easter egg (similar to Wizarro in WW + VG, or Rebecha’s cameo appearances in each game). Finding and talking to her unlocks a flashback scene that can be accessed post-finale in the chapter select menu

Trans mtf and lesbian. She's trans bc I wanted an excuse to have Lionel make a lead female character despite the whole 'Carla told me to make girls even tho Steambot Willy's genderless' thing. Audie figured it out on her own and just kinda went 'oh!'
