hello!! i love your if and all the characters you’ve created! the story is so entrancing and i got so into it that i cried when MC reunited with a certain someone (forgive my vagueness i don’t want to spoil)! my favorite character has been MC’s little brother. my MC would literally do anything and everything for him. as someone with only older brothers, it feels great to have a chance to do the older sibling duties—even if it is only through a game, hehe. anyways, i was just planning on asking a question on a certain scene but i started rambling, lol. pls, forgive me.
the scene i’m talking about is the part where MC gets back home from the library and talking with valia. is there a way we can not find out about the connection between MC and their little brother? because when we confront him about it, all of the options lower our relationship stat with him. it’s completely okay if that’s how the story is supposed to go, i’ll just get them back as the story progresses (plus i LOVE angst), but i was just wondering if it was an inevitable outcome.
loooots of love and light!! take care, dear author! <333
Hello, hello!
First of all, please don't EVER apologise for "rambling" or sending me long asks, because you have no idea how excited I always get when I see the little blue notification next to my inbox. I truly love hearing what people think.
I have to say, our little twin bro has been getting a lot of love lately, it feels like. I'm honestly kind of surprised, haha. It's not that I think that I've written him to be unlikable, but the guy is a mess...
Anyway, to answer your question. The first draft originally had an option where your brother doesn't find out that Valia told the MC (the MC learning about the bond is inevitable though), but I later scrapped it because I felt that it's better for your brother to know when something happens later in chapter 3.
But as I've been writing chapter 3 these days, I realised that it might be too soon for that something to happen, sooo...
After I release the next update, I might go back and fiddle with the options a little so that they don't all end in a confrontation. But first I'll have to see what's going to end up in chapter 3.
Still, I wouldn't worry too much about those few relationship points, as there'll be plenty of opportunities to get them back.
Thank you so much for the ask and for all the love, it made my day ❤️❤️❤️

Just read this, and you got me hooked. I want to learn what exactly's going on with the MC's magic, the weirdness going on with the elves, and just what the heck kind of wack things has our little brother gotten into.
On that note, the twin brother is definitely my favorite character so far, I'd die for him just as much as he seems down to die for me though I can't help but want to emotionally destroy him by having him learn about how the guy he bet would help save his bro's life essentially enslaved him under threat of death, and his closest friend was down to do the deed, and was frustrated they didn't get the chance.
Well, there's a lot of weirdness going around. A little bit of weirdness for everyone!
But, in all seriousness, you will learn all those things, in due time. And maybe some of those things will become more obvious as the story moves forward.
It's really quite interesting that people seem to like the brother, I honestly didn't expect that haha.
You're right that he would die for his sibling, he simply can't imagine the world without them. Unfortunately, his love for his twin is something that could be very easily exploited. Should anyone wish to, of course...
I totally get you for wanting to emotionally destroy him though, it's a tempting notion. All I can say is that (and I mentioned this in a previous ask) there is no timeline where your brother's having a good time.
His fate is to suffer.

Hi, the secret RO in asemyr is going to be a man or a woman? When will we meet him/her?
Spoilers for chapter two and beyond.
If you have finished reading the new update, then you've actually already met them! They are non-binary :)
However, SURPRISE!!!! 🎉
I couldn't resist making another character a RO, so now, we have altogether six ROs.
It's going to be a man - unfair, I know, but he originally wasn't supposed to be a RO and I don't think I can imagine him as anyone else now.
Anyway, his romance is going to be a bit different. How?, you may ask 😀 Unfortunately, I can't tell you just yet, but you'll understand when you meet him face to face, probably in chapter 3.
Thank you for the ask! ❤️

Oh wow. Our kid brother is not having a good time in the AU in which MC was killed. But in the story will our brother find out that Valia and the king were going to kill MC if they didn't accept the impossible, possibly deadly mission? I may love the angst
I'm afraid there's no timeline where he's having a good time 😂
As to your question, he might already suspect that there was something going on at that meeting that both Valia and the MC haven't shared with him.
We'll see if it ever comes up in the story. I may love the angst as well.

Damn. Now I understand better why he would feel so betrayed if MC would be killed by Valia or by the king. One is his best friend/family since school the other is the brother of the king. Poor little brother...the people he thought he could trust, people he regarded like family, killed his actual family...
And they also got the guts to try to check on him and how he was fearing...yeah adding salt to the wounds...damn. Poor little brother.
Would have Valia come to regret killing MC?
Oh, definitely.
She wouldn't let it show, but deep inside it would eat away at her little by little, especially if she saw how it affected your brother.
She... may not have thought that far.
But in that AU, when your brother finally breaks (and that is a when, not an if), believe me that Valia would break as well.

We know that MC had/has (?) their team to rely on, and that they were as family, but our little Brother? Did he have someone that close? Does he has now?
MC's brother was always very close to Valia, ever since their Academy days.
Another friend that he's had for quite a few years now, is Lucenis.
I would consider them both to be his closest friends. The three of them used to hang out and get into all sorts of trouble, unfortunately they're all a bit busy these days.
I would also say that even though the situation is a bit tense between them now, they still love each other a lot and they would do anything to keep each other safe.

I replayed Aesemyr after a long time and damn am I glad I did. How could I ever forget how much I love our baby little brother! My sweetest twin! 💕 My MC is so stoic and grumpy, but he does have one weakness and that's his brother. Just wish he'd open up to us a little more, how am I supposed to be his twin if he's keeping stuff from me? 😔 Not to worry though, no matter what, my MC will always love his brother.
Aw, that's so sweet. Twins forever!
I know many people are wondering what's going on with him and his erratic behaviour. I'm sure everything would be easier if he just had the courage to tell you.
But the thing is, he's afraid. What if he loses you forever?

Fo Aesemyr
If MC chooses to decline and fight, Valia kills them, after that our brother gets to know that it was Valia? (I loved the kofi snippet btw ❤️)
In the same vein in that scenario would Ash/the captain/Dal get to know what happened and how they feel?
Oh the brother is a smart guy, he definitely put two and two together and figured out that Valia had something to do with what happened to his sibling, even if nobody ever outright told him.
That's also one of the reasons he feels so betrayed, and why he ends up doing what he does in the short story. His whole world just... crumbles.
With the rest of the MC's old team, they all definitely find out at some point.
Going to put the rest under the cut, because slight spoilers:
Ash would be utterly devastated. The MC is a part of the reason why they've decided to remain in Lyyra after the accident. They've been through a lot, and with MC dead, they would lose the last shreds of hope they've been holding onto.
The captain would take the MC's death the hardest, I think, mainly because he would blame himself for failing to protect them. It was his idea to send the MC away, and for everything to end up like this... well, he wouldn't be able to rest until he got to the bottom of what truly happened.
With Del, he chose to be relegated to the borders because he wanted to forget, about Vera and the cave-in, about what happened to him and the MC, about everything. With the MC's death, something in him finally breaks and he stops caring about danger and whether he lives or dies.
Yeah, the Aesemyr characters are not okay.
what have I done

This might sound strange but do you have any references in regards of the hair styles the ros have, maybe even the body types?
I know this sounds like it will go into a specific territorynsfw, but i personally can imagine characters way better with references in those categories.
You don't need to answer if it makes you uncomfy or course :)
Doesn't sound strange at all, dear Anon! Some people just visualise things better when they've got some references.
Also, I've been wanting to do this for some time, so your ask is what finally pushed me to do it 😂
It's a work in progress, but I put together some pictures over on PINTEREST. Take a look and if you think it's insufficient, let me know!
I'll also put the link in my pinned masterpost for easier access.
Hope this helps!

Please.. please.. pllleeeeaaaaaaseee can we kill that king??? I love your ifs but dear god when given the "choice,' do this or die'", i really would rather die lmfao. I know for plot reason we HAVE to accept, but pleaaaaase can we kill him? Or just make his life miserable?! Pleaaaaaase
Haha, I understand your frustration.
But honestly, I think that given he's the king, his life is already miserable enough (especially these days).
Though who knows what the future might hold. Accidents do happen quite easily 🤔

Okay, gonna answer all of these in one post.
First of all, it's very hard to explain her behaviour if I don't want to tell you spoilers. But, just in case, slight spoiler alert.
She dislikes the MC, but not to the point where she'd be happy they are dead. The glare... She is disappointed, but not that the MC is still alive - she is angry that the MC came back in the state they did and that everything's complicated again.
She's also angry at MC's brother, as they haven't been seeing eye to eye recently, on many things.
There'll be some interactions in the rest of ch2, and I think that many of you will figure out what exactly is the problem.
Will she soften up? Definitely, though to her defense, it's been only a couple of days since she met the MC (and not the best days), so give her another few days at least?
And lastly, she's aware that she's being horrid to the MC and that, given what is happening, she has to do something about it.

Excuse my language, but why is Valia such fuckin ass. Not a single positive interaction with this woman, she just hates you apparently and didn't even try to help us during the king, and as the MC said would've been okay or even helped kill us. Like idk why anyone would bother romancing her because whatever it is making her hate us can't possibly justify any of that or make anyone forgive/move past it later to romance her.
Different people have different tastes, I guess? For example, I enjoy romancing characters like her in IFs, even though I would probably really dislike her in real life.
And if you don't want to romance her or even talk to her? That's entirely up to you.
In the scene with the King, you have to remember that prior to the audience, the MC could have very well killed everyone in their vicinity. Knowing what had happened and being presented with the choice MC vs. King/kingdom, as of now, Valia's priorities are quite clear.

ASH?!?!?!?! I´m glad they´re back (and the new ro???) BUT why tf did they never reach out??? Hello mc is crying over your grave missing you and vera only for them to bump into each other at the market. Are you an amnesiac?? Can´t wait go find out in the next update, and if they´re the ro you bet my mc will persue them (secret crush situation in the past mayhaps?)
Why tf indeed, Anon 😀😀
They have their reasons™, as you will find out in the next update. Are they good reasons? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Who knows?
Secret crush you say, hmm... 🤔

POV: you just rejected the king's offer and tried to resist
Thank you, that made me laugh 🤣
But yeah, pretty much something like that.
I have to say though, the MC should at least get points for trying 😀

Why is it that the moment that the shadowy character appeared I thought for sure they were gona be fifth Ro?? And was kinda into it too??????? Tell me author what have you done??????????????
In my best Solas voice: I did nothing. The credit is yours.
Ehm, anyway... 😂
There's not much I can tell you, but the fifth RO is someone else. This character... hmmm... I can tell you it's not the last you've seen of them and depending on how you play, the interactions of your MC with them might take an... interesting turn.
But thank you for sharing your thoughts on that scene, I was wondering if someone would comment on it and... well, I'm going to shut up now 😄😄😄

Hi! I'm wondering how to pronounce the title? I was pronouncing them like ASMR 😭
ASMR 🤣🤣 I understand, though.
Okay, here goes.
A: /ʌ/, as in one /wʌn/
E: /ɛ/, as in bed /bed/
S: /s/, as in soon /suːn/
E: /ɛ/, as in bed /bed/
M: /m/, as in more /mɔː/
Y: a mix between /ɪ/, as in if /ɪf/ and /i/, as in happy /hæpi/
R: This one is a bit tricky, as it's not your usual "hot-potato-in-your-mouth-r-sound". It's actually a really common sound in my language, but I don't think you hear it very often in English. It's called a "tapped" r, and you can hear it in e.g. Scottish English.
So, when you put everything together, it would be something like /ʌɛsɛmɪɾ/ or /ʌɛsɛmiɾ/.
Ooof, that took me back to my university days 😄
I hope you find this useful, Anon!
