Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry for the confusion 😭😭😭 This is entirely my fault, I keep changing things too much.

Okay, to set this right.

In Aesemyr, there are 5 main ROs - Valia, Lucenis, Cerin, Tev, Ash.

And because I wanted to make my life more difficult, I decided to add two more:

the first is Mara, who you have met in the new update

the second is a man whose name you'll find out (depending on how the update ended for you, you might have already found out 😉)

I call these two "side romances", because they're probably going to have less content than the main ones.

If MC chooses to decline and fight, Valia kills them, after that our brother gets to know that it was Valia? (I loved the kofi snippet btw ❤️)

In the same vein in that scenario would Ash/the captain/Dal get to know what happened and how they feel?

Oh the brother is a smart guy, he definitely put two and two together and figured out that Valia had something to do with what happened to his sibling, even if nobody ever outright told him.

That's also one of the reasons he feels so betrayed, and why he ends up doing what he does in the short story. His whole world just... crumbles.

With the rest of the MC's old team, they all definitely find out at some point.

Going to put the rest under the cut, because slight spoilers:

Ash would be utterly devastated. The MC is a part of the reason why they've decided to remain in Lyyra after the accident. They've been through a lot, and with MC dead, they would lose the last shreds of hope they've been holding onto.

The captain would take the MC's death the hardest, I think, mainly because he would blame himself for failing to protect them. It was his idea to send the MC away, and for everything to end up like this... well, he wouldn't be able to rest until he got to the bottom of what truly happened.

With Del, he chose to be relegated to the borders because he wanted to forget, about Vera and the cave-in, about what happened to him and the MC, about everything. With the MC's death, something in him finally breaks and he stops caring about danger and whether he lives or dies.

Yeah, the Aesemyr characters are not okay.

Having such a hard time choosing an RO but Cerin is so damn adorable 😭😭😭😩

Well, fortunately, you don't have to choose just yet 😄 It'll take a bit longer until we get there (maaaaybe ch5 or 6?).

I'm so happy to hear you like Cerin! I feel like they don't get enough love because they've been introduced a bit later and there really wasn't all that much content with them (which has hopefully been rectified with the new update).

Cerin is also a lot of fun to write. As you've said, they can be this adorable, if a bit awkward librarian, but (believe it or not) they can also get quite... intense. And it's just an interesting character to explore.

So yeah, definitely go for Cerin if you want to 🙂

Hello, i still don't and probably never will like valia, sure she had a reason and went through stuff even tho it's quite a poo poo one that uses kindergarten logic at best and i like that we can basically say that, but there's still the fact she wanted us dead in the meeting with the king, simply cause that changed her plans, and there's also the bullshit of her worrying about our sibling while most definitely knowing what our death would have done to them, considering what just telling them that she told us about the link we share did to them, but I'm someone who holds grudges and doesn't do the forgive and forget thing(looking at ash and the captain) so maybe I'm being too harsh but hey so was she for like a decade idk, have a nice day 👀

Hey, be as harsh to her in-game as you'd like (the others as well).

Aesemyr:

Twin bro

Short hair brushing his ears. Eye, hair and skin colour the same as MC. Dark circles underneath his eyes. Faint smile lines around his mouth.

Ash

Tall and lanky. Shoulder-length white hair, kept in a ponytail when needed. Stormy grey eyes. Sharp cheekbones. Very pale skin.

Cerin

Average height and slim build. Shoulder-length red hair kept in a messy ponytail. Heterochromatic eyes – one is a striking blue, one hazel. A smattering of freckles across the cheeks. Fair skin.

Lucenis

Tall and lean build. Long dark brown hair that reaches to his mid-back and that usually frames his face as he keeps it loose. Black eyes and warm beige skin with a sickly pallor.

Mara

A woman with olive skin, green eyes and long black hair, usually worn up in a bun. Most of the time, her face is obscured by a silver mask.

Tev

On the taller side with a muscular build. Short black hair, coiled. Brown eyes. Dark brown skin. Has a rather nasty scar travelling from the collarbone to the chin.

Valia

Average height and athletic build. Shorter light brown hair that barely touches her chin. Light green eyes. Permanently set jaw and furrowed brows. A small scar across the left eyebrow. Tanned skin.

Captain

Average height, broad shouldered. Close-cropped brown hair. Light brown eyes. Tanned skin. Various small scars on his hands and arms, a scar across the corner of his mouth.

Del

Average height, athletic build. Short curly black hair. Dark brown eyes. Olive skin.

Vera

Average height, lean build. Short blond hair, falling into her eyes. Light blue eyes. Fair skin.

Yinshan:

Hua Lingyun

Tan skin. Brown hair tied in a high ponytail. Brown eyes. Athletic build. 168 cm tall.

Su Feixia

Pale skin. Dark brown hair twisted in a simple hairstyle, partly left loose. Light brown eyes. Slim build. 162 cm tall.

Wei Qing

Tan skin. Black hair tied in a topknot. Black eyes. Athletic build. 178 cm tall.

Xu Yuan

Because you really wanted to know who i am romancing. I hope other's share their thoughts too lol

I am kinda obsessed with Cerin ngl Cerin seems like they have alot to them and i adore intelligent nerdyish characters. I always love my stats being either charm or intelligent super high. So i find smart characters very attractive.

And the whole running away drama makes them very intriguing. 🥰

I had a hard time choosing between Lucenis and Tev because Tev is so charming but Lucenis is my second fav character trait which is just characters you never know wtf they are thinking. He is alil stoic alil closed off....very hot. Plus romancing the brother of the dude that's threatening you is a dangerous game i live for. 😭

And then there's Ash. Who is actually my second playthrough after Cerin I've decided. Ash i love the way i immediately assumed MC had some feelings for Ash in the past and that's why they were so distraught over their death. And Ash is just so loyal and sweet. How can you not love them. Plus the angst of... i don't wanna lose you for real is so gorgeous 😩😩😩

Sorry to the only female RO. She pissed me off immensely. My MC might be cordial with her, but there is no way in hell i would romance her. No offense, of course 🫣🫣🫣

Oh boy, Cerin does have a lot to unpack, their family really is something. Drama is guaranteed 😂 (Though I'd say drama is guaranteed with every RO lol.)

I see we share a love for intelligent characters, I swear they will be my doom one day. Especially since more often than not, they turn out to be evil or they have some serious issues... Guess that says something about me 😅

Lucenis was one of the first characters I made for Aesemyr, so I have a bit of a soft spot for the guy. A fair warning for his romance - it's going to be a tad angsty, so beware!

Tev, on the other hand, is a character that brings me comfort. Straightforward and loyal, what more could you ask for? Besides, I love how they're just a normal person stuck in-between all these magic users lol.

Ash, my dear Ash... Always so supportive, soft and sweet, haunted by unresolved trauma, among other things. Sometimes, writing them is painful, but... well, I hope you enjoy where their story goes. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

With Valia, it's totally understandable you don't like her, no offence taken 😂 She is very much shaped by her past, for better or worse, and her love tends to twist into hatred and anger very easily.

hello!! i love your if and all the characters you’ve created! the story is so entrancing and i got so into it that i cried when MC reunited with a certain someone (forgive my vagueness i don’t want to spoil)! my favorite character has been MC’s little brother. my MC would literally do anything and everything for him. as someone with only older brothers, it feels great to have a chance to do the older sibling duties—even if it is only through a game, hehe. anyways, i was just planning on asking a question on a certain scene but i started rambling, lol. pls, forgive me.

the scene i’m talking about is the part where MC gets back home from the library and talking with valia. is there a way we can not find out about the connection between MC and their little brother? because when we confront him about it, all of the options lower our relationship stat with him. it’s completely okay if that’s how the story is supposed to go, i’ll just get them back as the story progresses (plus i LOVE angst), but i was just wondering if it was an inevitable outcome.

First of all, please don't EVER apologise for "rambling" or sending me long asks, because you have no idea how excited I always get when I see the little blue notification next to my inbox. I truly love hearing what people think.

I have to say, our little twin bro has been getting a lot of love lately, it feels like. I'm honestly kind of surprised, haha. It's not that I think that I've written him to be unlikable, but the guy is a mess...

Anyway, to answer your question. The first draft originally had an option where your brother doesn't find out that Valia told the MC (the MC learning about the bond is inevitable though), but I later scrapped it because I felt that it's better for your brother to know when something happens later in chapter 3.

But as I've been writing chapter 3 these days, I realised that it might be too soon for that something to happen, sooo...

After I release the next update, I might go back and fiddle with the options a little so that they don't all end in a confrontation. But first I'll have to see what's going to end up in chapter 3.

Still, I wouldn't worry too much about those few relationship points, as there'll be plenty of opportunities to get them back.

Just read this, and you got me hooked. I want to learn what exactly's going on with the MC's magic, the weirdness going on with the elves, and just what the heck kind of wack things has our little brother gotten into.

On that note, the twin brother is definitely my favorite character so far, I'd die for him just as much as he seems down to die for me though I can't help but want to emotionally destroy him by having him learn about how the guy he bet would help save his bro's life essentially enslaved him under threat of death, and his closest friend was down to do the deed, and was frustrated they didn't get the chance.

Well, there's a lot of weirdness going around. A little bit of weirdness for everyone!

But, in all seriousness, you will learn all those things, in due time. And maybe some of those things will become more obvious as the story moves forward.

It's really quite interesting that people seem to like the brother, I honestly didn't expect that haha.

You're right that he would die for his sibling, he simply can't imagine the world without them. Unfortunately, his love for his twin is something that could be very easily exploited. Should anyone wish to, of course...

I totally get you for wanting to emotionally destroy him though, it's a tempting notion. All I can say is that (and I mentioned this in a previous ask) there is no timeline where your brother's having a good time.

I couldn't resist making another character a RO, so now, we have altogether six ROs.

It's going to be a man - unfair, I know, but he originally wasn't supposed to be a RO and I don't think I can imagine him as anyone else now.

Anyway, his romance is going to be a bit different. How?, you may ask 😀 Unfortunately, I can't tell you just yet, but you'll understand when you meet him face to face, probably in chapter 3.

MC's brother was always very close to Valia, ever since their Academy days.

Another friend that he's had for quite a few years now, is Lucenis.

I would consider them both to be his closest friends. The three of them used to hang out and get into all sorts of trouble, unfortunately they're all a bit busy these days.

I would also say that even though the situation is a bit tense between them now, they still love each other a lot and they would do anything to keep each other safe.

I replayed Aesemyr after a long time and damn am I glad I did. How could I ever forget how much I love our baby little brother! My sweetest twin! 💕 My MC is so stoic and grumpy, but he does have one weakness and that's his brother. Just wish he'd open up to us a little more, how am I supposed to be his twin if he's keeping stuff from me? 😔 Not to worry though, no matter what, my MC will always love his brother.

I know this sounds like it will go into a specific territorynsfw, but i personally can imagine characters way better with references in those categories.
