You know who they did the dirtiest in Arcane? Apart from Vander that is.

The answer is Mel. My baby girl lost her two boyfriends and I'm tired of pretending like I'm okay about it.

She gave everything to their dream.

"She wanted to use them." YES! At first! At first she thought they were a great investment. Then she came to love them with more sincerity and more care than many other relationships in the show. Sure some of the toxic things she'd learnt from her home tended to seep into the relationship, but she did everything she could to prune that away.

She loved them. She poured everything into their dream. Everything into helping Jayce get rid of Heimerdinger when he wanted to ban the research that could help Viktor, everything to help them both vote for peace and make the council decision unanimous. Everything to get back to them, after getting kidnapped! 🥺 After going through every version of hell, she immediately gravitated to where she would find them, 😭 find the only loves that had ever accepted her without necessarily demanding anything in return.

And Riot just took that away. And I'm tired of acting like I'm okay with it.

I'm tired of everyone saying Mel deserves better than Jayce and Viktor, tired of people shipping her with people she's never met (especially when the aim is just to give her someone who is not Jayce or Viktor), I'm tired of the strong independent black woman stereotype following Mel around when it's the LAST thing that she wants when she only just learnt to be soft with Jayce and open with her heart once again. I am tired of people calling her a manipulator as if her character arc ended there, as if she did not unlearn toxic love and traded it for the gentle bond she then had with her two favourite scientists.

I'm tired of people not acknowledging that she had to leave Piltover, not just because the Medarda family needed her, but also because her boys were gone. The family she had finally made for herself, the family she was willing to abandon her family name for. They're gone and I don't think Riot will ever be kind enough to give them back to her.

Everyone else, even Ekko sort of has a family to fall back to. Mel has successfully lost everyone. The fact that Lest is the closest person to Mel left says way too much about how awful this whole situation is.

And I am TIRED, I am so sick and TIRED, of people acting like she did not love Jayce and Viktor. I am so sick and tired of people acting like Jayce did not love her. It probably hurt him too to leave her behind.

The tragedy of them is that Jayce knew Mel still had the chance to refind her feet, but Viktor had only ever had Jayce, and Jayce would NEVER leave Viktor alone. And it hurts that Mel probably wished she could have gone with them, because now she has to start everything from scratch and barely anyone in the fandom acknowledges that side of her pain and I HATE IT!

(Jayce might have been created for Viktor in League Lore, but Mel was created for Jayce. 🥺😭 Mel was created to love Jayce and they took her baby away.) #HappyHare(Mel)WhereHaveYouBuriedAllYourChildren?TellMeSoISay😭

Okay, but I just wanted to make clear how Timebomb literally destroyed me. Not only because they could've had EVERYTHING on a different time line: being together, working together, living their best life inside a really well done and sane Zaun. They made millions of parallels between the bridge scene and the dance scene, just to make Ekko see that, no matter how hard he tries, how desperately he wants to believe that Jinx is all that the women he fell in love with has left, he won't be able to stop loving her. Being Jinx. Being Powder. He loves her entirely, even after all the bad things she had done. When they fought, he saw Powder in Jinx's eyes, and when they danced and talked during the kiss scene and when he arrived there, he somehow knew that, no matter how many timelines the world had prepared for him to see, she will always be the girl of his dreams in every one. And then he came back just to stop her to end her own life and tried multiple times to talk to her when she thought that everything was lost, that she didn't deserve to live after the little girl she practically adopted sacrificed herself for saving everyone. Then she just stoped detonating the bomb knowing that it will kill Ekko too if he stayed, jumping into the void to avoid hurting him. But he just wanted her to see that she had much more to see, to fight, to live for. That she wasn't alone, that many people still believed in her, loved her, cared about her, and were waiting for her to come back again. The story literally built all this to just make Jinx sacrifice herself at the end and give us and scene where is insanely obvious how much Ekko misses her. He saved everyone. Sacrificed a better life just to save his timeline. Saved her before she gave up. And then they gave him an ending full of sorrow and loneliness after losing the woman he knew that now could've been with him after the battle is done. They are tearing me apart.

I think that Orym actually does doubt Imogen, but this isn't a thing that is unique to Imogen. Orym doubts all of them to an extent, because paranoia is something he struggles with (and this is continuously reinforced by the story).

It's not a 'good' thing that he should never get over, nor is it an immoral character flaw that proves he actually hates Imogen. However it's also not something I think he can get over as long as the threat of having to possibly fight his friends exists.

I just can't manage to do full comic pages and clean lineart with procreate so I'm doing these doodles for fun instead while I wait for my Huion to arrive.

I wanted to do this scene from her point of view. Robbie's first interactions with her suffered greatly from her having just talked with both Tony and Stephen first.

The first days after her resurrection Blade hold the badge of "only normal male teammate" until she actually talked with Robbie and got to adjust her mental image of him. It was a "not all men, Blade would never" kind of situation for her.

The thing about Imogen is that when someone else in Bells Hells talks about feeling wronged or insecure she is almost always one of the first people there to talk to them and to try to make them feel better about where they are, whether it's FCG's early struggles with personhood, or Fearne with her initial difficulties with her parents and later with Groon's side-eye, or Ashton following the shard, or Chetney after confessing his truth. Even though I frequently find her relationship with Laudna frustrating, Imogen is usually quick to ask Laudna how she's doing and try to help. There's so many small moments with her party members she's initiated that, if she ever let them blossom into their full potential, would lead to her becoming an unbelievably kind and understanding person. But then, almost every time, no matter what, instead of continuing these conversations and pursuing a deeper relationship and learning about other people's motivations through ongoing back-and-forth conversations, she's like "Okay! They seem to be doing better! Now, maybe if I open all their mail, I'll crack the code to why they sometimes do these things that are self-destructive or off-putting, and it will solve everything!"
