THEY'RE NOT BREATHING!!!!!!! Ah. Sorry. Got excited because you're the first person I've seen on my dash criticizing k pdh. I mean, I liked it well enough, but they keep singing and belting out those strong notes and all the while they're. Not. Taking. Any. Breaths. Sorry to make you the person I'm telling all this, but you said you didn't like their lip-synching, and I thought you might've noticed the same thing...

Jk lol but actually that wasn't what I was talking re the lip syncing, but that's also an interesting point that you brought up 🤣 For me, there are some highlighted scenes that are animated more expressively, but in the majority of the scenes without the more extreme custom facial rigs, I felt that the movement of the characters' mouths and face are just slightly too small, giving them a ventriloquist-like feeling. 😂 This can actually have a solid in-universe explanation, since Kpop idols do have expression control lessons so that they don't show weird or "ugly" expressions in public, but in this case it's also apparent for me in scenes when characters are talking in private.

I'm generally pretty open to opinions so this is a safe space for everything! Except for opinions that I disagree with.....JKJK

Look, I love seeing stylized and in general non Disney-cash-grab animation succeed, which is why I applaud Kpop Demon Hunters's success conceptually and from a distance, but when I try to get into the film's plot and message itself it just starts falling apart like the OP of the previously reblogged post mentioned in part.

kpop demon hunters is still so baffling like, the movie spends all this time trying to establish what being a demon means for these two particular characters, and seems to arrive at the conclusion that demons only really hurt other people when they've accepted that being terrible or immoral is an intrinsic part of their personality. in part, they're demon-ness is self-perpetuating, it's a cycle, right?

and then our glorious conventionally attractive heroes seal all the demons in the underworld never to be seen again, all while singing a song about accepting the flawed parts about yourself, like, what about all these faceless nameless demons then?? is just this one character an exception then???
