i'm Christian but really want to be Catholic and have for years but i'm scared of their thoughts on gays and maybe also judging me for being mentally ill? but i literally believe almost ever major Catholic doctrine, like transubstantion and the communion of saints, and i say hail mary's every day.
Honestly, someone could tell you to just go for a denomination that’s similar to Catholicism but still accommodates your personal beliefs (such as Episcopal/Anglican), but as a Catholic I’m obviously not going to suggest that because it’s not really the loving thing to do.
The Church’s stance on homosexual relationships is a very common stumbling block for people considering conversion, so I can’t really blame you for struggling with it. You definitely shouldn’t convert without really addressing that teaching because part of becoming Catholic is saying that you agree with all the doctrines of the Church.
It’s important to remember that BEING gay isn’t a sin, it’s the acting on sexual impulses outside of marriage that is. A heterosexual couple having sex outside of marriage is just as sinful as a homosexual couple doing the same, and both of those are just as sinful as masturbation. I recommend looking into the Church’s teachings on marriage, and especially look into the Theology of the Body. It really helped me understand the purpose of marriage as a sacrament within the Church and the theological reasoning as to why sexual impulses should be reserved for a sacramental marriage. Marriage is also not the only vocation out there—if you aren’t called to marriage, then you just aren’t called to it and God has a different place for you.
As for being judged, if there are people who would judge you for being same-sex attracted or for struggling with mental health, FUCK EM. Truly. I personally have struggled with mental health issues as well and I can tell you I’ve never ever ever received judgement from other Catholics. I was around mostly people my age, but still. Everyone is a sinner and everyone falls short of the perfection. That’s why the Incarnation had to happen. If someone judges you for your shortcomings then they need to take a long hard look at themselves.
Bottom line is that there is a place for you in the Church no matter who you are. I know some teachings can be daunting (teachings on sexual immorality especially), but one of the things I appreciate about Catholicism is that you’re encouraged to ask questions and to truly understand the logical reasons why our doctrines are what they are.

Listen to me Suzanne Collins did not have to give Katniss and Peeta a history before the games. She did NOT have to do that. She could have just had their story begin when Peeta's name was called. She could have had them be total strangers until the moment of the reaping.
Like: "And the boy tribute is... Peeta Mellark!" Katniss: Who's that? Or she could have made them vaguely familiar with each other! Peeta's name is called and Katniss just thinks, Oh, I know that name! He's in my class, actually. Poor boy... Anyway!
Either way, SC could have written the rest of the story exactly the same! I think many authors would have done that! Because if Peeta's purpose in the book was to be Gale's competition, to be one of the 3 corners of a love triangle, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE WAY TO DO IT!! But that's NOT how she did it because that's NOT what Peeta is.
And who is he? To Katniss, Peeta's someone who saved her and her family and received nothing in return except a beating. Peeta's someone she has had her eye on but has never worked up the courage to talk to. Peeta's someone she associates with kindness and hope. And all this before the start of the events of the book! Just because WE, the READERS, met Gale before Peeta and immediately felt a connection with him does NOT mean that was Katniss's experience! And that's what SC is trying to tell us!
To dismiss Katniss and Peeta's past as unimportant or inconsequential compared to whatever Katniss and Gale have in the present is to fundamentally misunderstand Katniss as a character and, as a result, condemn oneself to never fully understand the choices she makes in the future.
Suzanne Collins wrote it that way on purpose because she had something to say. And no one will ever be able to convince me that something wasn't "It was always going to be Peeta".

I find it very realistic that Megumi wants to try to live for someone else again instead of for himself directly. I mean it. It will take him a long time to recover from what he has suffered, which was too much for a child (because he is still a child!!). At first I thought Megumi was going to pick himself up, but looking at it from another perspective and analyzing my own experience with mental health: it makes sense. Megumi needs help. And he will get it. Yuuji and his friends will teach him to live for himself. The ending of Megumi's character is a new beginning, unlike the others.
Btw, did y'all notice his scars are Sukuna's? The way i'd kms on the spot, poor boy :( he's going to live with the curse of remembering every time he looks on the mirror

“He knows Timmy will come around eventually. It's only a matter of waiting for his clock to run out. And HP is very patient.” Hey uh.. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN HIS CLOCK TO RUN OUT is he waiting for Timmy to become a full fairy (Pixie?) and when that happens Timmy forgets about being a human entirely?
Sometimes Timmy wonders why he has grudges against certain fairies. Some of them, he can understand- like his dislike of Dr. Rip Studwell. But other ones, like with Cupid, it's a bit of a blur.
He must've been a very very vindictive 10 year old! Ah, well! Timmy's learned that he has to pick and choose his own battles wisely.
And uh. Fighting with the man who decides his paycheck and vacation days is not a battle worth choosing. Talk about a hostile work environment!!

I think it would really benefit people to internalize that mental illnesses are often chronic and not acute. Some of us will never be able to jump the hurdle of managing illness, much less sustaining a sense of normalcy. Many of us will never "recover," will never manage symptoms, will never even come close to appearing normal - and this is for any condition, even the ones labeled as "simple" disorders or "easy-to-manage" disorders.
It isn't a failure if you cannot manage your symptoms. It isn't a moral failure, and you aren't an awful person. You are human. There's only so much you can do before recognizing that you cannot lift the world. Give yourself the space to be ill because, functionally, you are.
