🎞️💗 My 10 Favourite YouTubers 💗🎞️
YouTube is the website I'm most often on. I first joined it in 2008, before it was bought by Google, which allowed me to experience it during its golden years. Prior to becoming a money-making colossus, YouTube was nothing more than a video sharing site, where users could upload virtually anything and get their videos rated with fun little red stars, post bulletins, have an inbox and get DMs, personalize channels with backgrounds, and so much more.
Nowadays, YouTube has changed radically, and in many ways, awfully. On the bright side, it also progressively became a chance for people to grow as video editors on a professional level. I've been watching and appreciating some of them so much that I consider myself to be part of their community.
The kind of YouTuber that I find myself most driven to are the vloggers, aka the folks who talk to the viewers about anything (even personal matters). I like listening to what they tell me, as if we're friends exchanging experiences and opinions in a cafe. I don't always agree with them, but that's alright.
I thought it would be quite nice to list my favourite YouTubers in one single post, in hopes that somebody else on here might discover a few interesting channels.
Nadia Bokody
This girl talks about sex education! Yknow, the thing they could never properly teach us in schools, despite how important it is. Nadia is a lovely woman who's had a lot of sexual experiences (which she has no problems admitting) and is very well informed about plenty of sex-related topics. She's there to chat with you as positively as possible and hopefully teach you a thing or two about your beautiful, private body parts and how to use them respectfully, with a partner or by yourself. Don't miss out!
youtube
2. Roly
Body modification, piercings, tattoos, fun and most importantly - fabulousness! These are the primary ingredients for the Roly channel, run by a fantastic gay man who gets a ton of hate and makes the best use of it!
youtube
3. Mohammed Agdabi
A black artist who takes deep dives into modern art issues, uncovering viral (and often trivial) Twitter fights and giving insight. Other than that, Mohammed is a great source of tips and encouragement for artists.
youtube
4. Aurikatariina
Depression is an invisible plague, and becoming a hoarder is often an even more hidden consequence of mental struggles. The house in your neighbourhood that you never saw the inside of could be filled to the brim with trash and dirt, for all you know. Aurikatariina is simply a cleaner, who loves to help out people who have stopped taking care of themselves, and therefore, of their homes. She compassionately tells the stories of the people she helps, while also giving out amazing tips and hacks for cleaning in the most efficient ways.
youtube
5. DottieJames
This girl can be many things, but she is first and foremost a poet. To be more precise, she is an unconventional poet, whose works are a mix of various forms of communication like humming, spelling, writing, reciting, doodling etc. She excels at expressing a gentle and odd uniqueness that sometimes feels hard to grasp. Worth a shot though, probably even two.
youtube
6. KnowsBestNever
The duration of KnowsBestNever's videos can be intimidating, but once you start listening, they're over in what feels like barely 10 minutes. This dude's words flow like water, and just like that, he is able to enter the crevices of each topic he chooses to dig into. Listening to him speak is nothing less than a pleasure. He can be thought-provoking in a way that easily resonates with you, forming the impression of having just had the best intellectual chat with a very down-to-earth friend.
youtube
7. DutchPilotGirl
Who hasn't wondered what's it like to be a pilot? How do they feel when they fly? Do they get tired of the gorgeous views from the cockpit? How do they return to their homes after a flight to the opposite side of the world? How do they start the airplane? This channel is a great chance for learning about lots of stuff that only pilots know, kindly narrated by a woman pilot who's worked her ass off to get where she is now!
youtube
8. Nu Mindframe
Sometimes you don't need a therapist. Sometimes all you need is the advice of a survivor, who has gone through terrible things and has completed her own healing journey by herself. This YouTuber opens up her heart to us and shares everything she has learned through suffering. There is something for each of us in her words.
youtube
9. Simnett Nutrition
This vegan bodybuilder adores sharing his tasty recipes, achievements, informations and thoughts! He thrives in positivity, and loves to tell the world how his vegan lifestyle is going. Whenever he smiles at the camera, it feels like the sun is shining. His enthusiasm is just incredible and I dare anyone not to feel engaged in it!
youtube
10. Karolina Żebrowska
Niche passions are adorable. This YouTuber loves dated fashion. Show her an old, black and white photograph of a random woman and she will be able to pinpoint exactly the time period she was from, just by looking at her clothes or hairstyle. Isn't that really cool?

Okay but NONE of the doctors or interviewees ever claimed to be vegan in the script. They don't even talk about veganism from an ethical standpoint. They talk about a Whole Foods Plant Based Diet. I know the word vegan gets used but always in conjunction with diet only.
I got to veganism via Forks Over Knives and I got to Vegetarianism for the planet.
You do what you feel is right, but personally, I never would've become vegan if I hadn't seen Forks Over Knives. I thought I was fine giving up meat and it wasn't until FOK that I realized it was a half measure.
Personal avenues of research followed leading me to Mic the Vegan, Happy Healthy Vegan, Simnett Nutrition and others that were talking about the ethics and animal welfare. Now I'm ALL in for animal welfare but that was not my starting point.
No one way is going to lead everyone to understanding the ethics and if you personally don't feel okay talking nutrition that fine. Personally I'm leaving every opportunity open. If I can convince someone to do meatless Mondays for their heath or the planet, well, those animals were saved and that's a win for me.
The truth is when it comes to veganism every voice and every approach can be useful, you never know what will capture someone's mind and expose them to the truth. Especially if every road leads people to understand that animal exploitation is a choice, not a necessity.
the Maintenance Phase episode about Forks Over Knives made me cringe at how I wanted to believe every positive health/medical claim I read about veganism back in the day. it's reckless and dangerous to present it as a miracle cure, and we don't need bad science to promote a movement when the focus should be on justice. I used to think ‘health improvements’ were a suitable thing to talk about to advocate for it, but I find it’s last on the list now, if it’s there at all. eating plant based can be healthy or unhealthy depending on endless variables, the same goes for not eating plant based. if you’ve personally experienced health improvements as a result of going vegan then that’s cool, but I feel so uncomfortable even straying into that realm of conversation now, it feels irrelevant, messy, invasive. veganism is animal liberation, not a diet

Best Recovery Smoothie! | Recipe + Ingredient Breakdown
🥗🍌💚 Eating lots of alkaline forming foods (raw foods) is soo good for our body, especially after a workout, because movement creates acids. So you need the other side of chemistry for a healthy balance. Base chemistry helps to recover much quicker and you will have much less muscle pain.

10, 12, 14, 19 for the vegan ask game~
40 Vegan Questions Ask Meme 🌱☀️🐰
10. What convinced you to go vegan?
I've lived most of my life with a typical rural family, we used to raise chickens and ducks and I loved them as a kid. I went on daily walks with the ducks in the backyard, and they followed me happily. They ate flowers off my hand and often fell asleep in my arms. I still vividly remember the touch of their soft feathers and the tiny teeth in their beaks. I used to hide in the chickens' shed because I didn't want to go to school. Knowing that the chickens loved to eat their own eggs, I broke one or two occasionally, unbeknown to my parents, and fed them. I also cuddled with them, named them all... but then, every December, my grandparents came and killed the animals for our roasted Christmas dinner. They even attempted to teach me, but I responded with loud cries. I didn't want them to die, and yet, I ate their flesh the very next day. And it felt wrong, even back then, as a 6-7 years old.
This feeling persisted in the back of my mind as a teenager, then as a young adult. But it was just sitting there, I wasn't doing anything with it; until one day, during a break from work, someone casually mentioned that one of my coworkers was a vegan. I had worked with this person for months, and yet I never noticed. A spark followed: it was like I had suddenly remembered about the vegetarian inclination I've had in the back of my mind for years, and I had finally found the will to know more about it.
So I googled 'veganism' and started reading - it took less than a week to make the choice. The last nonvegan food I ate was sushi at a chinese restaurant, where they had a fish tank with live fish inside. I looked at the dead fish on my plate, then at the tank. The answer to all of my doubts was staring straight at me. I went vegan overnight, because everything about it felt right and sounded undeniably correct. All of it resonated with my beliefs and I was overwhelmed with happiness at the thought of my actions finally aligning with my morals.
TL;DR - I went vegan because it always felt like the right thing to do, and simply finding the will to educate myself on it sealed the deal.
12. Are you dogmatic or live-and-let-live with your vegan principles? Do you lecture about your ideals to others unasked?
For now, I prefer to only share my principles with people who show curiosity. Most people tend to be quite opinionated on veganism, but they don't realize that they actually don't know much about it - and it's seldom a good idea to let them know about their ignorance. It's not their fault, though. I also wasn't educated on veganism before deciding to read into it. Live and let live sounds respectful enough, as long as I'm given the same respect.
I don't know if this will change, though. Maybe one day I'll tolerate less? People can really get on your nerves with the usual anti vegan stances, and maybe I won't be so nice when I'll have had enough of their shit. I know some vegans who concluded they wouldn't bother being nice any longer, and I can't blame them. Being a vegan attracts idiots debaters who will do their best to bother you lol. I very much prefer people who show interest and ask questions.
14. Is there anyone in the vegan community who inspires you - in attitude, recipes, vigor, etc?
Earthling Ed is a fantastic activist and a pleasure to listen to, Mic the Vegan is great for information and fun, SweetPotatoSoul inspires me with her gorgeous smile and delicious recipes, Nico & Louise make the best vegan desserts, Simnett Nutrition is wholesome and incredibly encouraging! Since we're on tumblr, it's impossible not to mention @vegance whose blog is a goldmine of vegan posts and @acti-veg whose blog is the most resourceful I've seen! Thank you guys!
19. What do you always make sure to have? List your pantry essentials.
OHHHHH YAY FOOD TALK! I've always loved food but even more so as a vegan! I can't be without soy milk or rice milk. I have to have one of the two or both. Pasta, rice and canned beans/lentils are also essentials. I love to keep some maple syrup, too. Kale and spinach in the fridge. A basket of various fruits would be ideal (especially kiwis and bananas). And of course, spices like basil, paprika, rosemary and cinnamon. The list could go on because I just love being surrounded by my favourite foods, but I think these are the ones I just can't be without!
Thank you for the asks! ♥

One of my favorite meals. It makes so much and is just as good if not better reheated. I also add a can of chickpeas and double the curry paste. Usually we'll eat it with some white rice with just a bit of salt, but it's good alone, too. And its vegan!
@brieflycaffeinatedpeace sorry it took so long for me to even share one recipe lol but if you try it let me know how you like it!

Also check out Vegains and Simnett Nutrition on instagram and youtube. They both got their muscles and strength by being vegan, and they don't put in much efforts
They're legit but they put in more effort than what it seems. Maybe not now since they've been vegan for so long but it takes years to fully understand the needs of your body especially on a vegan diet

Thoughts on simnett nutrition? He’s food looks good but he doesn’t rate refined sugars
It is my same thoughts for anyone out there running the popular template trends.
1. If you rate refined sugars you lose cred in todays gullible world.2. If you admit you are on gear you lose cred in todays gullible world.3. If you really speak your mind you lose your cred in todays gullible world.Best to smile, pretend to care and tell them what they want to hear vs what they need to hear.
