"Healing" “Self - Love”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This scene will always be close to my heart. This scene has actually hit home for me.
My childhood was not the same as others. I had a difficult childhood. It took me a long time to love myself and I have gone to lots of therapy something similar to this scene talking to my childhood version and assuring it that “You are loved and that you are important and you need to be kind to yourself and love yourself”
When I saw this scene it came all back to me and it was hard to watch people who have difficult childhood or raised by single parents in a difficult enviorment will understand this scene more deeply than others.
I am just happy that Station 19 has addresse this mental health issue so deeply. It was so important to know that how childhood trauma can effect your whole life it dosen’t matter how much sucessfull you are it always haunts you.
Special shout out to Daneille Savre for such a beautiful and incredible acting.

No need to keep shrinking yourself so that you can continue to fit in places that you have outgrown. It’s self betrayal at this point. It’s okay to walk away and find places where you’ll fit in and still have room to grow even more. Not everyone will be happy that you’ve changed but that’s their own personal problem. You will find your soul tribe✨

I adore processing pain. Self tying allows me to do so in a safe mindset. Knowing that I’ve always got my back brings me great pleasure to bring such delicious pain to my body. And such good pain noises to my mouth.

Day 12: Understanding Self-concept
What is Self-concept?
The image we have of ourselves, it's how we perceive our behaviors, abilities, and unique characteristics. It affects how you view your personality traits, your roles in life, and the hobbies or passions that are important to your sense of identity. It also affects how you feel about your interactions with the world, such as whether you feel and how you contribute to society.
Carl Rogers 3 Parts of Self-Concept:
Self-esteem – How much you like, accept and value yourself. Self-esteem can be affected by several factors, including how others see you, how you compare to others, and your role in society
Self-image – Refers to how you see yourself at this moment in time. Physical characteristics, personality traits, and social roles affect your self-image.
Ideal self – The person you want to be. This person has the attributes or qualities you are working toward or want to possess. It's who you envision yourself to be if you are precisely as you want
How does our self-concept develop?
Self-concept develops and changes throughout our lifespan, but our early childhoods are a ripe time to learn to perceive ourselves in the world.
Other contributions:
Through our interaction with others such as our family, friends, and other people in our lives.
The media can also shape our self-concept; when we consume media that promote certain ideals, we are more likely to make those ideals our own
Why is it important to have a well-developed self-concept?
Impacts how we respond to life and helps us respond in positive and beneficial ways for our well-being. It does this by enabling us to recognize our worth and can contribute to higher self-confidence. It also helps keep us from internalizing negative feedback from others while also improving our relationships and motivation.
Tips for changing your self-concept
Consider changing your environment.
This can mean changing the people we interact with and spending more time with supportive people. These people believe in us and everything we are capable of. They can remind you of how talented and resilient you are.
This can also mean changing our job, professions, where we live, etc. If something in your environment is having a negative effect on you, consider if that factor is still serving you.
Work through self-doubt
Try journaling to see why you view yourself in the light you do.
Remember that you are your harshest critic, and try not to compare yourself to others
Know that you will make mistakes, and everyone makes mistakes not just you.
If you deal with imposter syndrome, writing down your thoughts could be a good release. Things are often way worse in our heads.
Practice self-love and acceptance
Love yourself and know that you are unconditionally loved
Recognize that you are worthy, flaws and all
Practice self-compassion, and give yourself warmth and understanding during difficult times or when you feel inadequate.
By understanding our self-concept and how it affects our lives, we can work towards developing a healthy self-concept that contributes to a more fulfilling life.

What is True Love-An analysis of Gwendolyn’s story from Odin Sphere
Gwendolyn's story is about love! Specificly it is about what makes true love. At the beginning of her story Gwendolyn wants nothing more than the love of her father and so she fights in his war's to earn him glory believing that will grant her his affection. She risks her very life and pays no mind to her own happiness just for the smallest crumb of affection. Gwendolyn has dedicated so much of her life to gaining Odin's love that she doesn't know how to love herself. Eventually Gwendolyn goes as far as to sacrifice her vey honor and status just to save Odin from the pain of losing his first daughter. And only then does Odin show his Gwendolyn genuine love but this is wrong. No one should have to go this fair to earn another person's love let alone from their own father. Odin's love for Gwendolyn is not true love but rather a conditional love that is only revealed when others sacrifice themselves for his benefit. And even then the Kind Words Odin gives to Gwendolyn are soiled when he uses her as tool for his own ambition. Then there are the two men who offer Gwendolyne love freely but for different reasons. First there is Onyx the Inferno King who posses a strong passion for Gwendolyn but that is all he has. Onyx does not truly love Gwnedolyn but rather lusts for her like a thief lusts for gold, going as far as to even blackmail her into being his possession. But then we have Oswald The Shadow Knight the only man in Gwendolyn's life to show her true love. Oswald loves Gwendolyn unconditionally offering her kindness and affection not because he expects her to love him in return but because he wants nothing more but to make her happy. And Gwendolyne who has never been shown true love in her whole life doesn't know how to accept this. She at first denies her feeling for Oswald and tries to once again dedicate her life to her father, giving him the ring that symbolizes Oswald's love. But once Gwendolyn gives up the ring and learns of Odin's actions she realizes the difference between conditional love and true love. And by realizing this truth she can finally accept Oswald's love rejecting her old life and fighting for Oswald's love in both the land of fire and the Kingdom of the Fairies. However tragedy strike Gwendolyn's story as Oswald dies from a broken heart, born not just from his belief that his love is unrequited but because of his own guilt for in his mind keeping Gwendolyn "imprisoned". I find this scene very interesting because it shows that like Oswald like Gwendolyn is not used to being shown true love. Gwendolyn however refuses to accept this lose and travels to the underworld itself to regain her husband. in this land of Despair Gwendolyn comes face to face with her final boss, Odette Queen of the Dead. She out of everyone else in Odin Sphere is the one most guilty of objectifying others. She literally see Oswald as an object refusing to consider him as person. Treating him the same as he treats her precious jewel. She is incapable of showing anyone love and because of that she losses to Gwendolyn who has spent her entire story learning to love. But the defining moment of Gwendolyn's arc isn't the defeating Odette and rescuing of Oswald but rather her final words to her Father. In the end Gwendolyn goes back oh her promise refusing to give Odin the ring that represents her and Oswald's love. Gwendolyn Chooses her own happiness over her father Finally loving herself. And in doing so Odin at last shows Gwendolyn True love by not only respecting her decision but allowing her to life with Oswald in peace. And now Gwendolyn can spend her days not only being embraced by Oswald's true love but by giving him her own love in return.

“The price”
I don’t regret loving you
I don’t resent you for not feeling the same
I don’t resent our love being different
I didn’t ever tell you
So how could you have done anything
I resent the price
The price I paid
You didn’t ask for it
Yet I still paid
Now I’m trying to get some of that back
I love so strongly
I paid for that strength
There was none left over
Not for when I needed it for me
I don’t regret loving you
I regret not loving me
I regret the price I paid
