Tim Minear I know you are lurking in here, so let's clarify some things before you set down your words for 8b:

1) Don't change the character is not the same as Don't let them grow

Characters should have authentic growth and motivations true to their nature. E.g. Maddie has taken care of her baby brothers from day one. She was a nurse. She is now a dispatcher. Her motivation is to nurture and care for people. Don't change her into someone who will callously walk away from someone in need. But it doesn't mean she doesn't walk away from someone in need - she will just have to struggle a lot with that choice, both before and after making it. It's character growth that she can make herself do it. But the core of her remains the same.

2) Mix up the relationships

When's the last time you had Karen interact with, say, Buck? Or Athena and Eddie? Chimney and Josh? Bobby with Maddie? Also, do you ever intend to have Eddie and Maddie in the same scene?

3) Focus on the focus

The focus on Brad was Not It. Why are you giving airtime to a character that is irrelevant to the 118's change and growth? What your fans tuned in for was the found family vibes. Now all you got is "Coworkers Who Get Along".

4) Include recurring characters more often, even if they don't show up

You have a UNIVERSE of characters. Athena telling Bobby something about Michael being annoyed at Harry's attitude. Josh or Sue can be just mentioned in a scene with Maddie and Buck, maybe they're having a minor debate about changing the coffee machine in Dispatch. Someone can ask how Ravi is doing at, idk, law school. Eddie could mention Tommy missing pickup basketball. Chimney could mention how the Lees wanna teach Jee-yun Korean.

5) What do they want?

What does each main character want in every season? If your audience can't answer that, then you need to really work on refining their purpose so that they and their stories have direction. And they shouldn't be wanting the same thing every damn season.

So now that episode 5 has finished airing. Do you have any updated theories or adjusted timelines of what you think is in store buddie wise and bt break up wise ?

I have been saying 807 for the breakup for weeks (here's a ss of me on the gc for proof I didn't just say that, I even left the typo in so it wouldn't say edited lol)

I think the speed in which the Mara and Bobby thing got resolved along with the disaster pacing of last season made people believe things would happen in one episode. But the Mara and Bobby things are things that Tim regretted doing, so he needed a quick way to solve it. The bt thing isn't. I maintain my original theory of buddie feeling acknowledgement for the audience (one sided or mutual, who knows, just not them admitting it to each other) as the midseason finale cliffhanger that I proposed a really long time ago, that I proposed in the form of having Eddie come out during the finale. I still think buddie as a cliffhanger, then them getting together mid 8b makes sense (812 buddie canon theory I will believe in you until the show drags it out of my hands), but I think we might get Eddie queer earlier (I'm looking at you confessions, don't blow this for me), so I'm wondering if they won't do something that forces them to confront what they mean to each other in the midseason, and something else happening forcing them to put that in the back burner (Chris coming home for Christmas to match Shannon, Tim Minear you can't miss that opportunity and it's a plausible way to slow buddie down, come on, you know I'm right). So my timeline is maybe Eddie queer 806, 807 breakup, midseason finale buddie cliffhanger style (not kiss or getting together, just something that makes it clear that they are in love with each other), getting together 812-814. But that's just a theory.

The Eddie Munson hashtag on Tiktok just reached 10 billion views in less than 2 months. The only other character with more views is eleven with 10.5B and she's the main character. Obviously those views don't mean everything and tik tok is the biggest it has ever been for a stranger things season. But still it blows my mind how fast he basically took over the app. The edits haven't stopped either. Most of the rest of the characters btw have less then 5 or 4B, only Steve tag is at 8B.

What I'm saying is eddie is basically the most popular character right now and top 3 ever from what I'm seeing.

thoughts on forever team:

• ugh i absolutely loved the simone angst (as her being my favorite character), its also VERY edit worthy!!

• the disappearance of leyla was really just all of a sudden and im not sure if sky left the show but like it wasnt explained that well (from a viewers perspective atleast!!)

• SO MUCH HARMONY X SIMONE WHICH WE LOVE TO SEE!!

• poppy is such a little bitch and i honestly hate her character :)

• the bel and eggie romance was so out of pocket when it was wrapped up SO well in s9b, i honestly hated it. 

• the lego super mario kids or whatever didnt really make any sense to me and the one girl just annoyed me bc she kept getting so pissed at the smallest things

• bel and claires characters were completely wasted and not just in this, since seasons 8b-forever team, theyre plot lines were so messy and didnt make any sense. s7-8a bel and claire supremacy ONLY!!

• harmonys 2 small cameos were ICONIC and honestly carried forever team but they were so short and honestly a bit disappointing

• the transition between forever team and s10 is really nice tho bc like we know simone will hand off the bracelets to whatever that girls name is in s10. hate s10 but the timeline flows really nicely between the two

• yeah so overall, forever team was unnecessary af and was just used as a big ad for lego or whatever but it was also sort of a sweet goodbye to the second generation of cg (s7, s8, s9 and forever team). but i do think its safe to say that the mcadams sisters will not be returning to chicken girls again anytime soon and as of now, harmony and her friends story has finished :((
