refresh, reboot shower routine⋆.ೃ࿔*:・🧖🏽♀️🧁
WHATS A REFRESH REBOOT SHOWER? ;
a refresh reboot shower are the kind of showers that u take that act like a reset button. i personally love them especially when i feel like i have so much energy pent up and i can channel it into doing something positive for myself.
ROMANTICIZE ;
something important to remember while taking a refresh reboot shower is to be PRESENT. thats what makes these showers different. instead of doing ur normal shower routine, or ur everything shower routine, this is the REFRESH REBOOT shower routine.
take time to feel the water on your skin. make sure its to the exact temperature that you like. smell the products that ur putting on ur body and bask in how yummy they smell. feel the soapy foam beneath ur fingers, wash every inch of urself HAVE FUN.
GUA SHA IN THE SHOWER ;
sculpt that beautiful face. gua sha is good for so many reasons. its good to reduce puffiness and swelling and its amazing for ur lymph nodes. do a full gua sha routine and watch how amazing u feel.
EXFOLIATION ;
exfoliation feels like (at least for me) like im shedding an old skin and revealing a new one so its a MUST for a refresh and reboot shower. so before the shower do some dry brushing for the softest skin then go in with a body scrub.
i rly recommend the tree hut scrubs or you can make your own with this simple body scrub recipe. so first off decide if ur doing a salt or a sugar scrub and i'll briefly explain the difference here.
sugar scrub ; deposits minerals into the skin, gentle exfoliation, hydrates the skin, helps draw water into the skin, less abrasive, smoothens and brightens the skin.
salt scrub ; eliminates toxins, gives a rosy glow, anti aging abilities, provides minerals vitamins and nutrients, tones and restores the skin.
to make a sugar scrub simply (1/2 cup of coconut oil + 1/2 cup of granulated sugar + 15-20 drops of essential oil of choice)...💬🎀
hot tip ; if u want to make it more scented you can even use a couple drops of a body wash along with the essential oil
to make a salt scrub simply (1 cup of sea salt + 1/4 cup of a carrier oil + 10-20 drops of essential oil of choice)...💬🎀
CHANGE UP THE SCENT ;
if u have a signature scent that you do a lot of the time, try and go for a different scent. im a hygiene junkie so i like to have a variety of different soaps to use, even though i almost always stick with the basics (smelling like a yummy cupcake) unless i want something different. changing up the scent can be refreshing so if you feel like it'll be refreshing for you, try and go for a different scent for a couple of days.
DOUBLE CLEANSE ;
if double cleansing isnt something that u do on a day to day basis then its perfect to do in ur refresh and reboot shower. wash ur body first with a bar soap (preferably something unscented or organic)
doctor bronners soaps work good too if u dont have a bar soap that u like. after using the bar soap go in with a liquid soap (ofc following the scent guide in the previous section) that way you can feel even more squeaky clean and refreshed.

Read the take on Anthony going from his six espresso shots to stealing Kate’s strawberry lemonade because he likes the softer things in life and couldn’t help but think how goofy it would be for him to get into skin care when they’re dating because Kate has a skin care routine and also because his skin needs to always glow and be soft like a baby’s bum. Like him actually stealing her routine or telling her she’s not teaching him enough.
Oh Anthony just looking at Kate putting on a face mask like
“You can um… put one on me if you like.”
Kate chuckled, “Do you need your pores to be smaller?”
Anthony pursed his lips, “It just… it looks like it feels nice. And it smells nice and your skin is always so soft and… yeah.”
Kate smiled, kissing his cheek gently before she disappeared into the bathroom. Anthony peered over the back of the couch. “Babe? If you think it’s weird I don’t-”
“It’s not weird.” Kate reappeared, a headband dangling from her finger. “We just need to keep your hair out of the way.”
She sat on his lap, tugging the headband over his head holding his hair back from his face. She dipped her fingers into the mask spreading it gently on his skin.
“This is going to be so good for your T-zone.”
“Do I have a T-zone?”
“You do. You could probably benefit from a little bit of moisturizer as well.”
“Okay.”
“We can find you something tomorrow.”
“Yeah, okay.”
Kate hummed as she finished, “I know you keep using my shampoo.”
“It makes my hair feel nice!”
“I know,” She hummed, “It’s nice, hey?”
“It is nice. This is nice. I like just… I like spending time with you, like this.”
Kate let out a satisfied noise, “Yeah, me too.”
It becomes something of a routine for them, sitting on a Sunday night with their clay masks on while they watch TV.
“I can’t go out.” Anthony sighed to Simon and Ben, hands on his hips. “It’s Sunday.”
“That’s… never stopped you before?” Ben chuckled. “Old man, Anthony.”
“No it’s… I have a routine on Sundays!”
Simon raised his eyebrows, “What happens on Sundays?”
“I just…” Anthony tutted. “If you must know, it’s face mask night! And I don’t want to miss it! Look how small my pores have gotten! And I’ve been using moisturizer and it smells like peppermint and I use Kate’s Lush shampoo and conditioner! It has sea salt in that exfoliates my scalp and I like it!”
Ben and Simon stared at him in shock, before finally Ben put his hands on his hips. “I have noticed you’re glowing and I actually think it’s rude of you to keep this to yourself! I want to glow!”
“Yeah why don’t you want us to glow?!”
“I didn’t know you wanted to!”

Salt Scrub
Salt scrubs are a great way to incorporate physical cleansing into your routine - they help exfoliate, reduce inflammation, and improve blood circulation whilst also having the cleaning and protection qualities of salt, dried herbs, and oils. The recipe is easy, cheap, and quick making it one of the most accessible recipes I have.
Salt scrubs are not recommended for people with skin conditions or sensitive skin, and salt can dry out your skin so be sure to moisturize after use. As a rule of thumb, you should not use a salt scrub more than 1-2 times a week.
General Recipe:
1 cup of sea salt
1/4 cup of carrier oil
10-20 drops of essential oil
1 tbsp of herbs such as lavender, rose or chamomile and/or vitamin E oil (ensure they are crushed well)
In a bowl, stir together the salt and oil
Add the essential oil and herbs
Store in a sealed glass jar in a cool location until ready to use
To use a salt scrub, apply to damp skin in circular motions gentle for 20-30 seconds before rinsing well.
Weekly Cleanse Scrub
1 cup of salt of choice
1/4 cup carrier oil (jojoba, almond, vegetable, sunflower etc.)
10-20 total drops of lemon balm, tea tree, witch hazel and lavender
0.5 - 1 tablespoon moon water
1 tablespoon of dried lavender and lemon peel (optional)
1 tablespoon vitamin E oil (optional)
Venus-Inspired Salt Scrub
1 cup sea salt
1/4 cup of almond oil
1 - 1.5 tablespoons castor oil
10-20 total of drops of the following essential oils: rose, lavender, cedar wood and ylang-ylang or a attraction/love oil
1 tablespoon of dried rose petals
1 tablespoon vitamin E oil
As always, adapt the recipes as needed for what you have and to your own practice <3

The complete masterpost on how to smell like a Princess 💐🧴🌸
ARMPITS
🌸 Long armpit hair traps sweat and the smell can be quite noticeable. Wax or nair off the hair (instead of shaving, which causes dark discolouration), or if you don't want to have completely hairless armpits, trim the hair down short with a small pair of scissors.
🌸 Know the difference between deodorant and antiperspirant. Deodorant: stops the smell. Antiperspirant: stops the sweat. Some products may do one but not the other, although most do both.
🌸 Use a men's deodorant instead of women's deodorant. The antiperspirant is much stronger than in women's deodorant. Old Spice makes nice ones that don't smell particularly masculine despite the brand being associated with men. Old Spice Deep Sea smells like sea salt, Old Spice Fiji smells like coconuts, Old Spice Oasis is sweet and slightly vanilla scented, Old Spice Wolfthorn is sweet citrus, and Old Spice Timber smells like sandalwood.
🌸 Apply deodorant after you shower instead of waiting a while.
🌸 Apply antiperspirant at night instead of morning so that it has all night to get absorbed
🌸 Vanilla extract can be used as a natural deodorant. Because it's alcohol based, it kills bacteria and the vanilla scent stays all day.
🌸 Use deodorant as a preventative measure, not a fix for an already-stinky armpit or a replacement for washing.
🌸 Use salicylic acid toner on the armpits. This lowers the pH of your armpits to be inhospitable to odour-causing bacteria
🌸 Hand sanitiser can be used in a pinch (not regularly though as it's bad if you use it too often)
🌸 Washing your armpits with Head & Shoulders shampoo and letting it sit for a bit before rinsing off is really good for getting rid of bad odour due to the zinc in it
🌸 Exfoliate your underarms in the shower to slough off dead skin and deodorant build-up that could be making any products you use under your arms less effective. You can use the same exfoliator you use on your face or body on your armpits.
🌸 To dry your armpits completely, use a hairdryer, apply deodorant, then dry them again. It will make such a difference, as it gets your armpits completely dry, whereas as towel drying alone can often leave some moisture, which is more likely to make you smell.
🌸 If you suffer from excessive underarm sweating, go see your doctor. They can prescribe you an industrial strength antiperspirant which may solve your issue.
CLOTHES
🌸 Don't leave your clothes in the washing machine for too long after they've finished washing, this makes them develop a bad smell. Put them to dry as soon as possible after washing.
🌸 If possible, use the tumble dryer instead of leaving your clothes to air-dry in winter. If clothes are left for hours and hours and not really drying because it's too cold, they develop a bad mildewy smell.
🌸 Dry your clothes outside in the sun whenever possible
🌸 Use scented dryer sheets (but make sure the scent isn't one that clashes with your perfume).
🌸 An old-fashioned tip is to keep cut up soap and lavender in the same drawer as your clothes. You can just stick a scented soap or sachets with potpourri in the closet with your clothes to make them smell nice.
🌸 In hardware stores, you can buy cedar blocks to put in your closet, which as well as making your clothes smell nice, also keep spiders, moths, and centipedes away
🌸 Add a capful of white vinegar to the washing machine when you're washing your clothes (no, this won't make your clothes smell like vinegar. It kills unwanted scents and helps remove stains).
🌸 Add a few drops of essential oils such as lavender, peppermint, tea tree, or eucalyptus to your laundry detergent (you can add some to your dryer sheets as well). Make sure they're clear, light, essential oils, and not dark resiny ones, as that will stain your clothes. You can put a few drops of essential oils on the bottom of your drawer, right on the wooden part too.
🌸 You can buy special laundry perfumes to put in the fabric softener department. The scent lasts for ages
🌸 Avoid harsh or heavy scented laundry detergent and washing powders. Stick to neutral, light-scented ones
🌸 Wear breathable fabrics like cotton, hemp, linen, and silk. This will make more air circulate around your body. Avoid nylon and polyester.
🌸 Wash your bathrobe once a week
🌸 Spray Febreeze or perfume on the clothes in your closet once a week
🌸 Wash any clothes you haven't worn in a while, even if you're not planning on wearing them soon, to prevent a stale smell. It will make your whole wardrobe smell much better
FEET
🌸 Wear clean cotton socks. Don't reuse worn socks days in a row
🌸 Always wear socks. Not wearing them makes it much more likely for your feet to start smelling bad
🌸 Don't wear the same pair of shoes every day, as this can make odour-causing bacteria grow because they don't get a chance to dry out.
🌸 If you're staying somewhere overnight, remember to bring a 2nd pair of shoes to change into instead of wearing the same pair twice in a row
🌸 Put baby powder on your feet before putting socks on
🌸 Always dry your feet thoroughly after washing, including between each toe. This prevents the development of foot fungus
🌸 Use foot spray or shoe spray
🌸 Scent rises, so spray a little perfume in your shoes or on your ankles
🌸 Pat some glycolic acid on the soles of your feet with a cotton pad each morning
HAIR
🌸 Spray some perfume on your hairbrush before brushing. Grace Kelly swore by this
🌸 Apply dry shampoo the night before instead of the morning of so that your hair has time to absorb it
🌸 Hair absorbs scent a lot, so wash it regularly
🌸 Add a tiny drop of perfume oil into a few drops of hair oil and apply to your hair
🌸 It's obvious, but using a shampoo and conditioner that smells good will make your hair smell good
🌸 Consider using a hairspray or hair mist
HOME
🌸 Change pillowcases and bedding regularly. Oils, sweat and dead skin cells will accumulate if you go too long using the same sheets.
🌸 Open the windows regularly and leave your bed to air before making it once a week. No airflow means your environment will be more warm and sweaty, making it more likely to develop bacteria that makes you smell bad
🌸 Light a scented candle or incense regularly so that your home always smells lovely
🌸 Have multiple towels so you can use a new one each time you shower. Once a towel is wet, germs start growing, which can make you smell. Clean your towels regularly
🌸 Above all, make sure your house is clean. It doesn't matter how many of these tips you follow, if your home smells bad, you'll smell like it. Plus if you bring someone home and your house smells, no matter how good you personally smell, that's the impression they'll have of you. Clean regularly.
MOUTH
🌸 Floss after eating. Food particles trapped in between the teeth can make your breath smell bad. Even if you don't notice it, others will.
🌸 Use mouthwash after eating or drinking. Avoid mouthwashes with alcohol, as they can dry out your mouth, and your mouth should be moist if you want to reduce bad breath.
🌸 Brush your tongue or use a tongue scraper. This gets rid of bacteria that can build up and make your breath smell bad.
🌸 Keep a pack of mints or gum in your bag for after you eat or drink out (avoid chewing gum if you grind your teeth or clench your jaw though - it's not good for overworked muscles that need to relax).
🌸 Brush your teeth morning and night. Make sure to brush the hard to reach places, like the back molars. And brush for at least two minutes.
🌸 Bad smelling bacteria builds up in your mouth if it's dry and saliva isn't being produced, so drink water consistently throughout the day and eat every few hours, even if it's just a small snack
🌸 Take probiotics for mouth health to replace bad smelly bacteria with good bacteria
🌸 It's not too important, but if you're talking at close range with someone, you'll be able to smell if they have a scented lip product on, so if you want, put on a scented lipgloss, lipstick, or lip balm. My personal favourites are Glossier Birthday Cake lip balm and Fresh Rose Lip Treatment.
🌸 Chew a sprig of rosemary or mint after eating, it makes your breath smell clean and herbaceous.
🌸 A Princessy mouthwash recipe you can try is putting 60g of dried rose petals in 240ml of rosewater and heating gently for 2 hours, then straining and adding 180ml of liquid honey. As well as making your breath smell beautiful, it also helps to soothe a sore throat.
🌸 An underrated tip is to gargle with hot salt water to kill bacteria. This is good when you're somewhere without access to mouthwash.
🌸 If you take good care of your mouth hygiene but bad breath persists, you may have tonsil stones. You can extract them by rubbing a Qtip on your tonsil.
SIGNATURE SCENT
🌸 Learn your body chemistry. Get a variety of sample perfumes and see what they smell like after 30 minutes, 2 hours, a day. Scent profiles develop and change over time, and a perfume that smells good at first might not after a few hours. See what smells good consistently.
🌸 Apply Vaseline or a light unscented lotion to the area where you'll be spraying the perfume to make it last longer
🌸 Buy a rollerball of your favourite perfume so you can reapply when you're out and about if the scent of your perfume fades
🌸 If possible, spend money on a high end Eau de Parfum. 1 or 2 sprays will suffice, and the scent lasts all day. Sprays from Bath and Body and Victoria's Secret smell nice and all, but fade quickly.
🌸 Keep in mind that some perfumes may only be suitable for certain seasons. A light citrusy scent may be fine in summer, but confusing in winter
🌸 Scent rises, so rub scented lotion on your legs. If you want you can spray some scent inside your shoes or on your ankles.
🌸 Hot skin areas close to your veins like behind the knees, behind the ears, the back of the neck, and on the wrists are good areas to apply perfume. Currently, it's popular in the perfume community to spray on the stomach and forearms too.
🌸 If you're sensitive to perfumes, a perfume oil could be a good substitute (in former Ottoman countries, perfume oil is more popular than spray perfume).
🌸 Less is more with perfume. Never overspray. It's better for the scent to subtly creep up on people than to overwhelm them. Perfume should be intimate, a beautiful association people make with being close to you (isn't it a lovely idea that nobody will know that your hair smells like rose hair mist until your lover buries their face in it, or that your neck smells like Hypnotic Poison until your lover leans in to kiss it?)
🌸 Be aware that people may have sensitivities or allergies to perfume if you're going to be in an enclosed space, for example on an airplane, a cinema, or an office cubicle. It's okay just to smell clean rather than of perfume (Kate Middleton and Megan Markle don't wear any perfume at official state events for that reason).
🌸 Don't be afraid to ask other people about their opinions on your perfume. Of course, it's important that you like your perfume, but everyone else around you will have to smell it too. Some perfumes have associations that you may not necessarily want to portray. For example, Victoria's Secret perfumes are often associated with teenagers, and Chanel No.5 is often associated with grandmas. If you love them, you do you, but just keep this in mind if you're wary of creating certain associations with yourself.
🌸 Choose moisturising and hygiene products that go well with your signature scent. For example, vanilla or cocoa butter moisturiser with a perfume in the gourmand family of fragrances.
🌸 In the same vein as above, you can also choose moisturisers that add dimension to your signature scent, like making a floral perfume smell more summery by using a coconut moisturiser, or making a vanilla scent smell more Christmassy by using a peppermint body wash and lotion.
🌸 Don't mix scents that don't go well together. It will smell confusing if you use a warm vanilla sugar lotion with a musky perfume.
🌸 Don't overload on too many strongly scented products, it's overwhelming. If your perfume is very strong, use a lightly scented or unscented lotion.
🌸 It's okay to have more than one signature scent. The perfume you wear at the office doesn't have to be the same perfume you wear at parties, which doesn't have to be the perfume you wear relaxing at home.
🌸 It's also okay to have no signature scent, and just pick a perfume that fits your mood on a given day
🌸 Try and find a perfume that matches your lifestyle. If you're a minimalist, pick a fresh, light scent, such as Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue. If you love to bake and adore the smell of vanilla, sugar and buttercream, try a gourmand perfume, like Dior's Hypnotic Poison or Ariana Grande's Cloud. If you live an outdoorsy lifestyle, try a woody scent like Santal 33 by Le Labo. Your scent should match your vibe, if you're not naturally a party girl or a chic lady, don't try to fake it with perfume, it will just be confusing.
🌸 Don't pick a perfume you don't personally like just because someone else recommends it, like wearing a scent you find grandma-like just because someone said it will make you smell Old Money. You're the one who has to smell it all day
🌸 Spray a little perfume on your hair and wrists before going to sleep to feel soft, pretty, and luxurious, like a Princess or an Old Hollywood star
🌸 A tip from exotic dancers is to spray perfume right after showering, moisturise, then spray the perfume again to really lock in the scent
🌸 Read books like The Secret of Scent by Luca Turin, Fragrance and Wellbeing by Jennifer Peace Rhind, and Scent and Subversion by Barbara Herman to understand the science of scent and what smells great from the point of view of a perfume expert.
🌸 If you want free samples, try e-mailing a perfume house saying you've seen a promo of their perfume and would be interested in a complimentary sample (send your address too). Usually they read lots of complaints, so they'll be glad if they can make someone happy (this may not always work with every perfume house though). You can also go to a quiet counter at a boutique and ask for samples of a perfume you want, even tell them that you're young and can't afford much and they'll give away lots.
🌸 Science has shown that women are much more sensitive to musk scents than men, so lesbian/bi ladies may want to consider trying a musk scent while on a date. And as for men, they prefer lily of the valley, as well as gourmand scents like vanilla, cinnamon, and oddly, pumpkin and lavender together. [Source]
YONI
🌸 Take probiotics
🌸 Wear cotton underwear. Avoid tight underwear and underwear with dye if possible.
🌸 Sleep without underwear. Letting your yoni breathe is great for achieving an attractive smell
🌸 Don't clean your yoni with regular soap. It can throw off your pH, which can cause yeast infections and a bad smell. It's generally okay to use soaps specifically formulated for your vulva, or gentle soaps like Johnson's baby soap or Dove sensitive.
🌸 Drink natural 100% pineapple juice and cranberry juice, or buy pills with those respective ingredients in the health store. Even if you don't want to drink it all the time, drinking cranberry/pineapple juice an hour before intimacy will make you taste sweeter.
🌸 Instead of using scented feminine hygiene products (which are bad for you), change your pad or tampon regularly. Switch to menstrual cups if possible, as there will be no smell at all (whereas the pads and tampons themselves will start smelling bad if left for too long).
🌸 Rub some roll-on deodorant in the crevice where your inner thigh meets your vulva. It develops its own B.O smell (like a leg pit). Deodorant improves the smell immensely.
🌸 Make sure your partner has clean hands/a clean mouth before touching you sensually. Also, use a condom if possible, as ejaculate inside of you can mess up your pH balance
🌸 Use Dripsticks for post-sex clean-up
🌸 Boric acid suppositories after your period help rebalance microbial flora
🌸 Use a little water to rinse after you pee. You can buy a peri bottle for postpartum to make it easier
🌸 Make sure to only wash your vulva, not inside the vagina. The inside is a self-cleaning oven, and douching or even just inserting a finger with soap is bad for it. Avoid the inner, pink parts of the labia too.
🌸 Make sure there's no discharge build-up in your pubic hair
🌸 Clean well in-between the folds and under the clitoral hood so that sebum doesn't get trapped
🌸 Make sure not to scrub too hard, as it can make soap get somewhere it shouldn't or irritate a sensitive area
🌸 Use a hairdryer to dry after showering if you don't have the time to towel off till you're completely dry. It will stop you from feeling swampy and sweaty down there.
UNCATEGORISED
🌸 Keep feminine hygiene wipes, hand sanitiser, mini deodorant, mini dry shampoo, mini mouthwash, rollerball of perfume, scented hand cream, etc in your bag to freshen up during the day
🌸 It's obvious, but shower at least once a day. If you're having unusually hot weather or live in a warm climate, take a couple of quick showers throughout the day.
🌸 Use a very strong soap on your yoni, armpits, and feet, and scrub your armpits/feet very well as they retain scents.
🌸 If you sweat a lot during the night, take a light shower in the morning to get rid of the smell of stale sweat
🌸 Before your regular shower gel, use an antibacterial soap. It will kill bacteria that can make you smell bad.
🌸 Useful websites: Fragrantica, R/Perfumes, R/Fragrance, Parfumo, R/FemFragLab
🌸 Take parsley pills. It's like an internal deodorant. And fenugreek pills make you smell sweet like maple syrup
🌸 As well as on your armpits, put deodorant under your breasts as well, and anywhere else you may sweat a lot from (if you're spraying in the crease between your thighs and abdomen, make sure you have underwear on).
🌸 If you tend to sweat under your breasts a lot, you can buy cotton breast liners that absorb sweat on Amazon
🌸 If you're doing all that you can to prevent body odour but it persists, talk to your GP or dermatologist. You may need an antiperspirant stronger than what you can buy in shops, a PanOxyl wash, or even botox injections in your armpits
🌸 A tip from Marie Antoinette is to wear perfumed gloves
🌸 Don't eat too much onions, garlic, eggs, dairy, alcohol, processed foods, red meat, fast food, or vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli. The smell will seep through your skin (a little is fine, of course). And eat plenty of leafy greens.
🌸 Eat more fruit 🍎🍇🍍🍒🍓
🌸 Drink mint tea in the morning
🌸 An obvious tip, but hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Drinking more water will help you sweat less. Plus fragrance doesn't last as long on dry skin
🌸 Avoid drinking too much alcohol or smoking cigarettes
🌸 Take chlorophyll supplements
🌸 If you tend to suffer from a sweaty face, wear a waterproof mascara and keep a setting powder on you
🌸 Most important tip of all: Stay hygienic! You need a good base for any of these tips to work. Spraying perfume and applying scented lotion on an unclean body is like putting a band-aid on a bullet wound.
🌸 And of course you don't have to use all of these tips (if anything, you'll probably end up creating a toxic fume cloud instead of a beautiful scent). Just find a few that work for you and incorporate into your routine.

Cleopatra's beauty secrets
Sugaring- A natural hair removal that has been said to been practised by Cleopatra herself to keep her skin smooth and hairless which was considered the beauty standard in Ancient Egypt.
Dead Sea Salt- It is believed that Cleopatra used to frequently exfoliate with fresh dead sea salt to achieve soft skin.
Milk Bath- Hippocrates wrote that she used sour milk from 700 donkeys to bathe in. Milk in general contains lactic acid which mildly exfoliates the skin.
Royal Jelly- She used Royal Jelly from bees to moisturise the skin
Rose water- She used rose water to purify her skin as well as a scent and perfume to air around her
Aloe Vera- She rubbed Aloe Vera on her skin every day for smooth and soft skin. It also was believed that the plant was from Gods and could cure anything from baldness to insomnia.
Green Malachite- She used the bright green malachite paste on her lower eyelids and lapis luiz stone on the upper eyelids_(warning do not do this if u dont want to become blind xx)
Shea Butter- It is said Cleopatra kept jars of unrefined Shea butter for her smooth skin
Oils- It is said she used different oils from Moringa Oil to castor oil on her skin to fight aging from fine lines to wrinkles
Clay Mask- She used clay masks as a beauty treatment which could draw out impurities from the skin

Sif + Skadi=Marvel!Sif
Because I promised I'd elaborate on that last post. This is part 1/3.
Marvel’s Sif similarities to Sif are quite few and mostly based around Loki cutting her hair. Sif is very gender conforming in the original mythology, unlike her MCU counterpart.
The few similarities are:
1. Loki cuts her hair.
-In the myths, Sif has long blonde hair like wheat fields (she is a harvest goddess). Loki cuts it while she slept, bringing Thor’s wrath upon him. Under threat, Loki is forced to replace her hair and does so by procuring magic golden hair from the dwarves.
-In the comics, Sif was originally blonde. Loki cuts her hair for a variety of reasons/circumstances depending on the comic run/series. Loki is then forced to replace her hair, but he refuses to pay the dwarves. So to spite him, the dwarves curse the magical golden hair to turn permanently black upon placement. Dark hair is played as a tragedy that would have marred Sif’s beauty, and Thor is portrayed as such a good person to still be infatuated with Sif! (*ugh* thanks I hate it).
-In the MCU, according to the composer Natalie Holt (so take it with a grain of salt as it’s technically an “outside source”), Loki slept with Sif and then cut her hair as a prank. Her hair didn’t change colors and Loki did not replace it but Sif got her vengeance by kicking Loki in the crotch. Notice that Thor had no part in demanding restitution from Loki, unlike the other two occasions mentioned above.
2. Sif is important to Thor.
-In the myths, Sif is Thor’s wife. Thor threatens Loki to get them to replace Sif’s hair.
-In the comics, Sif is Thor’s childhood sweetheart and lover but not the endgame love interest. She’s also in his close group of warrior friends. Thor threatens Loki to replace Sif’s hair.
-In the MCU, she is one of Thor’s close friends. There seemed to be no romantic overtones. This is the one time Loki is not threatened into replacing her hair.
Brief overview on Skadi: Skadi is the Goddess of Winter, Vengeance, Hunting, and Skiing. Her origin is speculated to be associated with the Sámi people (Davidson, 1993). Skadi’s name is associated with “scathe” and “injury.” She is speculated to be associated with Loki’s punishment. There’s a theory she is associated with Ullr, another god of skiing and may be a female counterpart to him. Another theory states that she might have been a male deity at first (Davidson, 1993). Her father, Thiazi, threatened Loki into making an oath to get Idunn and her golden apples for him. The whole scheme resulted in Loki having to rescue Idunn, and Thiazi being killed by the Aesir upon her rescue by burning him with a massive bonfire as he chased Loki and Idunn. A furious Skadi seeks revenge upon the Aesir. The Aesir decide to give her some recompense for her father’s slaying which include (I)Thiazi’s eyes being yeeted into the sky and turned to stars. (II) Allowing her to pick a husband from amongst the Aesir (with stipulations ). (III) Skadi asks to be made to laugh. The last task falls to Loki, naturally.
Skadi's rather unusual in the following ways:
-Skadi is given an unusual amount of authority to placate her for Thiazi’s death despite being a Jotnar and a woman. A furious Skadi seeks revenge upon the Aesir, armored for battle. The Aesir decide to give her some recompense for her father’s slaying rather than just siccing Thor on her like they usually do (it's mentioned they didn't want to spill blood within Asgard, so I guess she got lucky?).
-One of the restitutions is that Skadi is allowed to pick a husband from the Aesir with stipulations. She wants Balder, the fairest of the Gods (who's already married). But, she can only select her potential husband by looking at their feet. She picks the nicest feet thinking they most be Balder's but they're actually the sea god Njord's sand-exfoliated feet from walking on the beach. They eventually divorce.
-Someone will make Skadi laugh. Loki was tasked with this and the way Loki accomplished this was through his own emasculation.
-Compare her agency to the other goddesses who generally find themselves in danger of being traded away to giants in exchange for goods and services despite being warriors and sorceresses themselves (*poor Freyja*). She's not the only warrior goddess, as Freyja is a war deity in charge of the Valkyries, but she is never in danger of being traded away.
-She is one of two Jotnar women that married into the Vanir. But Gerdr has little agency or dialogue within the Poetic Edda compared to Skadi.
Marvel!Sif's similarities with Skadi:
-Skadi is the most masculine goddess of the Norse pantheon role-wise and authority-wise as mentioned previously. Marvel's Sif is GNC by Asgard's standards as a shield maiden.
-Mutual dislike with Loki:
(i) Loki caused her father’s (Thiazi) death indirectly though the Aesir were the ones that killed him. Loki achieves making her laugh through his own emasculation.
(ii) In Marvel it's because Loki cut Sif's hair.
(iii) Skadi places the serpent that drips venom upon a bound Loki.
-Loki is humiliated in some way involving his genitals to make up for the affronts Loki committed.
(i) In the myths, Loki is tasked with making Skadi laugh and ties his genitals to a goat’s beard and play a game of tug-of-war to make Skadi laugh. The rope breaks, he falls upon Skadi’s lap, and she laughs her ass off.
(ii) In the MCU, Loki was kicked in the crotch by an angry Sif after he cut her hair. While MCU!Sif is more benign to MCU!Loki than Skadi is to Loki, it is interesting that she was used by the TVA to punish MCU!Loki through a Time Loop of beatings. Don't get mad at me, but the realization came from making "Can't believe Mobius gave Loki CBT #FunWithAcronyms" jokes and realizing the myths also had Loki making up for his trespasses through CBT. Don't google it if you don't know what it is.
-Skadi's name is associated with the word "scathe" and "injury." She is believed to have an association with punishing Loki, as Skadi places the serpent that drips burning venom upon bound Loki (Lindow, 2001). By having the TVA USE Sif to punish Loki, they made MCU!Sif associated with punishing Loki.
-Skadi and Loki are mirrors in some ways in terms of their gender nonconformity. Skadi exercises an unusual amount of agency for a goddess, to the point where it's theorized Skadi might have originally been a male deity (Davidson, 1993). Whereas Loki is often portrayed as losing status due to activities that are considered "emasculating." Loki is also speculated to be associated with the Sámi people (Laidoner, 2012). It is also speculated the way Loki makes her laugh is based on a castration ritual (Lindow, 2001).

I finished up the Cambrian blue clay bars made with sea water from Kirrha Greece, adding a little pumice and rosemary and lemon to make an exfoliating gardener’s soap. I also whipped up another small batch of the lavender sea salt soap and I think I’ll call it a day on the soap making for Sherwood.

Review #2: Zum Bar Goat's Milk Soap: Sea Salt
So while bored at work and waiting for an eye appointment, I started an AMA and I was asked what my favorite soap was. Well, here it is. This is my current go-to soap. The first time I got it was right before a convention, followed by a first date. I needed something good. I needed something above the normal cheap body wash I used. I needed something new.
Enter: a blue bar. You've probably seen it in a grocery store and thought something like "That looks like soap that's trying too hard. Like it wants to appeal to the kind of New Age and healthy crowd. Like it's way overpriced." And honestly? You're not wrong. It's overpriced. It's trying to impress you. But it's also easy to steal because the Kroger just leaves it out there. (For legal reasons, I'm not endorsing shoplifting. But like whatever, I used to work there so it doesn't count.) Anyway, let's get into the rankings.
Smell: 9/10
No lie, the smell is why I got this soap to begin with. It's significantly more subtle compared to the other Zum Bars they had on option. Not too strong, not too subtle. I have gotten several compliments on this soap's smell. I wouldn't describe it as "Sea Salt" exactly. It has an almost citrus smell to it, that same kinda sharpness. Definitely floral. Lovely.
Lather: 9/10
You don't really have to try to lather this up all that much. Turn on the water and get washing, that's it. But at the same time, it's not overwhelming. Like it'll lather, it'll spread, but it's not gonna drown you in suds. I've had that problem before, mainly with shampoos, but still. That's how you get buildup and soap scum. It sucks. This soap doesn't do that.
Smoothness: 10/10
Oh God it's so smooth. I think that's what the goat milk is for, I don't know. All I know is that it slides like nothing else, right along the skin. No tugging, no tightness, just perfection. No notes.
Scrubability: 7/10
The one downside to this soap in my opinion. It is absolutely not an exfoliating soap. There's little salt inclusions that provide a bit, but that's it. And they dissolve in the water. But that's fine, because I don't get this soap to exfoliate. I get it for the prior score, that smooth finish.
Cleaning power: 9/10
It's nice! I go in, I put in my conditioner (a future review of that miraculous product, I promise), and I grab my soap. I know what I'm in for. It'll clean up, cut through the grime I need it to. I bike a lot to get places, I get dirt on my sometimes. If happens! And this works wonders. A good job.
Total Average Score: 8.8/10
That's right, my preferred soap is only an 8.8/10. Not perfect! It shines in almost everything, except for scrubs. Granted, as I said, I don't get it for the scrubs. But besides that, it's a wonderful soap.
Closing thoughts:
I'm still in the relationship this soap was purchased immediately prior to. That's a pretty solid endorsement if ever I've heard one. It can definitely be a more expensive soap. I think it's around $5 for a bar, rather than the usual bargain pack of like 2 for $3 or whatever. But also if you don't get caught it's not a crime, that's all I'm saying.
Anyway it's a good soap! My current favorite. Note, however, that I said current. I never have anything written in stone.
