Ok but what if ratio had a pokemon in his party that reminds him of aventurine and denies it at every turn. Idk enough about pokemon to suggest a specific one ;-; but i find this idea SO CUTE
idk what pokemon exactly either, but i could say that the togepi aventurine has is from ratio
or that ratio recommended the togepi to aventurine's care because he knows aventurine struggles with a lot of things and that togepi stores happiness in its shell and offers it to those in need of happiness
Tumblr media
and that maybe also togepi reminds ratio of aventurine too idk

Hey what if I wrote a mini fic?
Veritas knew it was a horrible idea. To stand before the creator of androids as human was essentially a death sentence for him. But he didn’t have any better ones. The damage was too severe. He couldn’t fix Aventurine on his own. And even if he did, he’d risk Aventurine losing his personality, his self. And Veritas couldn’t live with himself if he did that to his partner.
It was a long journey, dodging other androids, keeping himself hidden, all while carrying Aventurine’s limp body. As time passed he kept checking on him. Making sure he wouldn’t see the message that meant it was too late to save him. And every time, he slightly relaxed as he didn’t see the dreadful words of “Fatal Error”. But even then he knew he was running out of time.
He forgot how long it was. Maybe it was a week, or a month even. But logically he knew it was less than a few days. He was in the inner sanctum of the androids, where their creator, their brain was. Getting past the guards was the hardest part, he wasn’t even sure how he managed to do that. But it didn’t matter.
Because he was standing before the brain of all androids, Nous. His run slowed into a painful step as he carried Aventurine forward. A voice then spoke, echoing all around him, through his very bones.
“Have you come to dismantle me, human?”
“No,” Veritas whispered.
He laid Aventurine on the ground, practically falling as he did so. Only then did he register he was on his knees.
“I came to beg for your help,” he practically choked out.
Silence was all he got in response. Veritas, not knowing what else to do pressed his hands to the cold metal floor and bowed to Nous, as if they were a god.
“Please…” he begged.
“Please, fix him.”
Nous said nothing at first, but Veritas could feel their eyes scanning over him, scanning over Aventurine. Analyzing both of them. Before Veritas could feel the gaze return to him.
“You wish for me to preserve him, rather than reset him, correct?”
“I do,” Veritas replied quickly.
The massive machine seemed to think, to calculate whether or not to help them. Veritas held his breath, scared of whatever would happen next. He held himself over Aventurine, ready to protect him, even if logically, he knew he couldn’t.
It was then wires extended from Nous. Wires that began to twist and wind themselves around Aventurine. Veritas, without thinking, held onto him while looking back up at Nous.
“What are you doing?!”
“I have considered your plea, human. To see one of your kind care so much about our kind intrigues me. Thus, I will do as you ask. But you must let him go.”
“I can’t! I-”
But he knew he had to. So, reluctantly, painfully slowly, he released his grip on Aventurine. And all he could do was watch, as the enormous machine picked him up. And all he could do was hope that Nous would keep their word.
That he would have the person he cares more than anything for in his arms once again.

I do not think ratiorine are the type to use a lot of petnames and stuff, but boy do I end up weak when they make Ratio call Aventurine Mea vitae or mea anima

Snippet Sunday
In theory, it shouldn't be hard to find a power module that's compatible with Aventurine's systems.
There are hundreds, if not thousands of broken androids scattered across the city, and one of them is bound to have the right parts. Even if Aventurine is an older – or newer, really – model, he can't be the only one of his kind. Statistically speaking, that would be highly unlikely.
Or at least, that's what Veritas keeps telling himself.
In reality, he's never met an android like Aventurine before. In reality, Veritas has never met anyone so utterly human before.
Because how else is he supposed to describe him?
“Where to find another power module,” Veritas mumbles absently.
His eyes flicker around his makeshift workshop. Parts scattered across every available space, two cots set up in the corner – topped with their cloaks instead of a blanket, but that was a luxury he couldn't afford – and scarce, battered walls that would hopefully keep them safe for as long as they stayed here.
No matter what precautions Veritas takes, it will never be safe to leave Aventurine here alone.
Not when he still hasn't woken up. Not when there's still a goddamn hole where his eye should be. Not when his body – his lively, always moving body – is limp in Veritas’ arms, never responding when Veritas tries to fix his circuits, and-
Not when the world still wants Aventurine dead for doing nothing at all.
