This movie is for us former theatre kids, truly.

I enjoy Ariana Grande’s music but I was skeptical of her casting and I’ve just been force-fed humble pie like you wouldn’t believe.

The Anthony Kate left with that first night vs. the Anthony Kate finally found after 3 years.

No doubt she left with him, no doubt whatsoever.

Yeah that’s pretty much him.

Sure, Anthony was sad and a few drinks deep when he met Kate but he was also wearing a three piece suit with custom tailoring and a pinky ring that she found inexplicably hot. He leaned in close and let his hands drift over her bare skin and called her Trouble in a voice that shivered down her spine. What was she supposed to do?

Kate actually feels her body’s not at all to blame for the confusion and accidentally getting pregnant. Her ovaries were startled into it, she’s sure.

And then of course when she meets him again he’s got a fuller beard and tiny sparkles of grey flecking his hair a little prematurely but she’s still so attracted to him. And to make matters worse, he’s still flirting with her, seemingly unable to help himself. He also hugs her tightly and tells her how thankful he is to her for having their son. He found out a month ago that he was a Dad, bought a more sensible car and had a safety seat professionally fitted for Neddy so that he could be available if Kate needed him. He shows up for Neddy, he makes Neddy a priority, makes him feel loved and that’s… all very fucking attractive actually.

She had no defenses for Anthony Bridgerton. She didn’t even have any for the sad, grieving man she met that first night who was somehow still so charming.

You should see an ENT if u can, I got surgery and they told me it would never be a 100% fix and honestly idk if it was even that much improved and recovery sucked but still good to get checked just in case you have other nose problems. I had chronic nosebleeds (like monthly sometimes multiple in the same day) and havent had one in the years since the operation

See I’m torn. Because I fear this looks quite stupid to be working out in. And yet: I can breathe so well 😩

Is this how well some people breathe through their nose all the time?! Holy HELL.

Thinking about this though has unlocked a memory of having to see an ENT when I was a kid about something to do with my nose so I need to ask my mum what that was about. I was like… 7 so I have no idea. He just looked at my nose a lot and made me do some test from my seven year old memory 😂

I’m sorry to disappoint you all but the flashbacks will be continuing so it’ll be the chapter after next that Kate has a chance to react.

I am hoping to update this fic much more regularly though so hopefully it won’t be too long!

I'm looking forward to seeing Kate and Anthony and all sorts of new parenting roles.. for example how do we deal with Neddy getting a little cold from school? Or maybe just a small boo boo while running at the park?

Or maybe the school asking for parents to volunteer as chaperones for their next trip to the zoo? I can see Neddy volunteering his Anthony for a zoo trip!

How adept is Anthony at preparing Neddy's lunch boxes? After school snacks?

SO MANY POSSIBILITIES!!

Oh imagine the guilt Anthony feels the first time Neddy gets hurt on his watch. Anthony picks Neddy up from Kate’s before dinner now and they let Sophie go home early. On these days Anthony likes to take Neddy to the park on the way there and they run around and fly kites and all sorts of things. Anthony just loves spending time with his son. He loves hearing Neddy giggle as he runs after the football and he loves the excitement on his face when he tells Kate what they did as they walk to the restaurant. He loves this time.

“Kick a big one Daddy!” Neddy called out as Anthony positioned the ball. “I can get it.”

“Alright, are you ready buddy?”

“Yeah!”

Anthony laughed as he kicked the ball and Neddy cheered sprinting after it but the laughter died in his throat as he watched Neddy’s ankle buckle under him and his son let out a sharp

“Ow!”

He sprinted forward, his heart hammering as Neddy wailed.

“Daddy! It hurts!”

His hearts in his throat as he looks down at his son, clutching his ankle. “I’m sorry, buddy. I’m so sorry.”

He can hardly breathe as he scoops Neddy up, panic in his chest as they arrived at A&E, fumbling for his phone while he filled out the paperwork, Neddy sniffling against his chest.

“Hey, are you guys near by?”

Anthony’s heart sank in his chest even more at the sound of Kate’s voice. She trusted him. She trusted him to look after Neddy and he hadn’t done it. “Kate, I’m sorry.”

He could hear the concern in her voice, “What happened?!”

“We were just playing football and he twisted his ankle. We’re at A&E. I’m so sorry.”

“I’m on my way.”

They’re waiting for the X-rays back by the time Kate sweeps into A&E, pulling back the curtain around the bed where Neddy’s propped up with a carton of juice, holding Anthony’s hand whose fighting back tears.

“Amma!”

“Neddy, are you okay Baby?”

“My foot hurts.” He said as Kate kissed his face, breathing a sigh of relief. “But I have juice! And the lady said she was bringing me cake.”

Kate smiled turning to Anthony. “Broken ankle?”

His voice felt strained, “They don’t know yet. They think probably just a sprain. I’m so sorry, I should have been more careful. I’m sorry, I can do better-”

Kate’s hand was firm on his arm, “Anthony, it’s fine. He was running and he hurt his ankle. I’m not upset with you. This wasn’t your fault. It could have happened when I had him and would you blame me?”

“No, but-”

“But nothing.” She turned back to Neddy, “Did you have fun with Daddy?”

“Yeah!” Neddy squeaked, “He did such a big kick! It was cool!”

“See.” She squeezed his arm again, “He’s fine. You’re cool.”

I’m sorry but I need to know which Anthony this is. The legs are giving footballer or rugby star… but I honestly just don’t know. I’m too dumbstruck to think.

Are we about to see the resurgence of Offside Anthony? I fear we are.

Because this is 100% footballer Anthony who doesn’t mind at all being ogled by his hot doctor wife. He’s often been photographed on the pitch with a bruise on his thighs that look suspiciously like teeth marks. And can we blame Kate? No, we can’t.

And if one of those bruises accidentally made their way into an adidas campaign? So be it.

Time for one of the most anticipated races of the year... THE LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX!

It's been a tough battle but if both drivers finish in the top five then it's another Constructors Championship for Bridgerton Family Racing! And if both drivers can finish on the podium it's a BFR 1-3 in the Driver's Championship!

We know who we're betting on.

Kate’s a team player. If staying in bed with Anthony all day is how they get another novel from so be it. You have to make sacrifices sometimes. This is a burden she’s willing to bear.

Plus, Anthony squinting at her without his glasses is very cute actually and he made her breakfast and lunch which is honestly a win. All in all it’s her best work from home day ever. Super productive.
