To Star Trek TOS fans that say "TOS was so bad, but I love it."

One thing I noticed is that Star Trek TOS fans really will throw their own show under the bus out of pure self-consciousness. Star Trek TOS fans hate themselves a bit and will immediately make it known so others won't attack them for liking it, as if pre-emptively admitting TOS was bad will protect them from any criticism of it. They'll be like "yeah I know it's garbage YEAH everything sucks the plots the costumes the effects the acting blah blah BUT I LOVE IT!"

I mean, not really. Actually, I don't think it's bad. I think plenty of it is fantastic and has some misses and moments that warrant criticism... like everything does.

But frankly, it's no worse than shows they make today. I mean, Riverdale exists. Even Star Trek today can be garbage, like the SNW episode where they said Spock's bowl cut and every single Vulcan behavior is genetic.

You're allowed to like TOS, people. It's really not that bad and tbh the insistence that it was just awful totally contributes to the popular culture image of the whole womanizing rash captain in space concept. Star Trek TOS was great. The costumes and the effects and yes, the acting. Star Trek would not have survived without every single aspect you insist is really bad. I have no idea why we insist on being embarrassed. The effects and costumes were actually fantastic given what they were working with. Let's not be so quick to admit that TOS was shit but we love it. We love the fun, the characters like our lovely and amazing Uhura, Chekov, Scotty, the plots, we love the intense chemistry between the leads and if you're in the same circles as me then, especially K/S, and there's a lot to love—and plenty that was good.

It was good and we love it.

So we know Kamala’s forming the Young Avengers and so far, it’s Kate Bishop, Cassie, Kamala, I hope they get Peter and America too cause the chaos would be comedy gold.

The mentors: Carol, Clint, Stephen, Happy and Scott would have weekly drinking night outs to rant about the kids. And Carol who is basically immortal, started having gray in her temples because Kamala decided it was a good idea to see if she could fly.

She could not.

Imagine the possible convo:

Carol: I still can’t believe she hurled herself from the Avengers Tower.

Clint: My kid shot down a historical bell tower, a christmas tree and nearly got us killed by the tracksuit mafia. And that’s not adding Yelena to the mess. She blames me for not keeping an eye on Kate

Carol: She hates me, threatened to kill me just because I let Kate onto the team. Kamala’s mom already dislikes me for that same reason.

Scott: Oh the black widow lady? She’s really nice. She lent Cassie her widow bites and now Cass modified it into her suit.

Sam: Your kid is the reason why people now fear Ant Man. She used the widow bites to tase people she thought had a high chance of committing a crime.

Clint: And Kate did not help

Happy: At least your kid didn’t invite all the other spider-man villains and the other spider-men into this universe so that he could clear his name and get himself and his friends into college.

Stephen: Don’t remind me. I’ve have enough headaches dealing with America traveling to other universes because she wants to try their food.

Suddenly, their communicators start going off.

Carol: Oh come on!

Stephen sighs heavily, Scott slams his head on the table, Happy downs his drink in one shot and Clint looks like he’s about to die.

Clint: All in favor of grounding them once we get them back from whatever universe they’re in now?

They all nod.

Carol: I say we have an hour at most before Yelena shows up and makes do with her threat

Stephen: You’re a walking infinity stone, why are you so afraid of her?

Carol: Fight her and find out

I swear, marvel just has characters who are way more relatable than DC. Probably because I find that a lot of marvel characters are lonely misfits or outcasts with issues like isolation, anger issues, depression, self doubt, etc. Marvel has so many characters like that. The Hulk, Doctor Strange, Namor, The Silver Surfer, Cyclops (the x-men more broadly apply, but cyclops is most relatable to me), The Vision, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Hank Pym, Iron Man (the man pushes friends away because of his heart condition), I could really go on and on. There's so many relatable characters at Marvel.

Are there as many relatable characters at DC? No. No, there isn't. Martian Manhunter and Red Tornado have the loneliness and outcast issue i talked about, and guy Gardner and Jason Todd have anger issues like me, but a lot of their bigger heroes just seem boring and well-adjusted. DC still has some characters I like, but it really feels like their big characters don't stand up to the big hitters at marvel. Which is probably why I do often want to just be able to restart DC from scratch. They have so many issues, for me.

so one day when tony got rly tired of y’all asking him, he came up with an idea

“tell you what. how about you kids make a petition. if you can get a decent amount of signatures, i’ll consider getting you a puppy.”

the first person you went to was scott

and max kept sitting on sam and licking him

tony and bruce even built a little spot for max in the lab

and a bunch of like cool toys for him

max was the perfect dog for y’all bc like he loved everyone and everyone loved him

every night he slept in a new room & he loved to play 

he ran with y’all too when you had to run so it was way more fun

suddenly dr strange was over at the tower a lot more…

he’s such a softie

and scott loved him too they were best friends

tony was just proud of himself for “teaching you to be good citizens”

Can I have more of them in Strange New Worlds, please? Especially since they've finally got a Scottish actor to play Scotty. Also, if they can ram Spock/Chapel down our throats and make me love T'Pring, not to mention change Kirk to knowing he's got a son, then this is no different. Cassie and Scott leave on their ants.

Kamala: I think I hear my mom calling

She quickly leaves. Sam tries to leave but Carol catches him by the back of his suit.

Carol: If I have to deal with her; you have too

Sam: But—

He’s interrupted when the door is kicked open and Yelena rushes in, enraged. Kate pales.

Kate: I can explain

Alexei rushes in: I HAVE FIRST AID KIT!!!

Kate; You called him‽!

Yelena: Of course I did. Mama’s busy so papa’s gonna fix you up

Kate: You did this on purpose, didn’t you?

Yelena: Of course

Then she turns to Carol and Sam: Now, tell me who do I punch first?
