I refuse to believe the Young Avengers were a stable superhero team. They are the most toxic hateful teen friend group ever. the cassie-jonah-nate love corner that escalated to homicide. the spirit twin combo of "i have no idea how to control these powers" and "i have control and also live to antagonize all of you". kate bishop w her three different romance storylines – sometimes at the same time – with members of that same group. the bickering and gossip and general animosity. you'd think oh wickling is fine, they're a stable relationship. WRONG. DAVID WITH A STEEL CHAIR, A CRUSH, AND AN EXISTENTIAL CRISIS.

and after that's done, he hooks up w the brother of the guy he just convinced Teddy to take a break from dating. then america chavez is over here raised with the idea that her now-teammate is a god who created her world.

so you think. surely that's it. what more can there be. fuck u. spirit twins' demon brother is currently propositioning cassie's dead (ex??)-bf & also young avengers member. everything's on fire and they all hate each other but there's no one else they'd trust to watch their backs.

Everyone wants 2012 Avengers Tower fics (which I love) but I want new Avengers in Delacroix fics so here's some head canons

Obviously Bucky and Sam live together down in Delacroix. Thing is, they keep having a revolving door of people that always comes to visit even though THEY HAVE A WHOLE PLACE TO GO TO FOR WORK UP NORTH but their house is the "safe space" for everyone else

All the school bound Avengers (I.e., Kamala, Riri, Eli, Cassie, etc.) go to their house to study because it's calming

Joaquin has his own room in Delacroix at this point

Bucky and Sam constantly bicker about interior design choices of said house

Sam hosts a Sunday lunch and if you're available you come and bring food to contribute pot luck style

I see your "Clint in the vents" and raise you "Scott has a tunnel system in their backyard". It was supposed to be just for the ants but...he got carried away

Yelena does not have a key to the house and yet pops up out of nowhere constantly. They've updated their security system and yet she still finds a way through and they end up finding her sitting on their couch eating chips

Sparring in the backyard to settle disputes

Someone coming in the middle of the night because they had nightmares/stressed/didn't know where to go and neither Sam or Bucky can refuse them

If you stay over on the weekend YOU WILL take part of Saturday or Sunday cleaning butt early in the morning. No questions or warning. Sam will have R&B/motown greatest hits blaring at 7am and tell you to sweep the porch with water

Grocery. Run. Into. Town. Chaos ensues.

To get my one complaint out of the way:

The Young Avengers were not formed because "Hey there are multiple superheroes under the age of thirty"

They were formed because the Avengers were literally destroyed, and New York needed heroes

It was not this after school club

It was "there's so much villainy going on in this city, and Kang the fucking Conqueror is coming in three days. we are the only people with some link to the Avengers therefore we must stop this"

Eli became Patriot to honour his grandfather and fight crime

Teddy became Hulkling to protect people and figure out his identity

Billy became Asgardian/Wiccan to stand up for the little guy and to honour the Scarlet Witch

Kate became Hawkeye to beat up bad people and save the people with powers

Cassie became Stature to honour her father and carry on his legacy

Nathaniel became Iron Lad as an attempt to stop his evil future from coming to pass

Vision became a Young Avengers to honour Nathaniel and the original Vision

Tommy became Speed to right his wrongs

Saw Florence’s insta video of her on the Thunderbolts set and I wanna write a fic where Kate sees Yelena with short hair. Imagine this:

Yelena shows up at Kate’s apartment after the movie…

Yelena: Kate Bishop! I am starving, do you want to order Chinese food takeout?

Kate: Y-Yelena?

She sees the short hair and short circuits immediately.

Kate: I-I mean—Y-You look—I need to—I—P-Peter’s calling, yep he’s calling and I-I’m gonna—I’ll be back!

She runs off to the rooftop, leaving behind a very confused Yelena who looks at Cassie who’s lounging on the couch.
