Black Rain Frog
Tumblr media
AKA plain rain frog, brown short-headed frog, tsitsikamma frog, Breviceps fuscus
A little avocado...
Rain frogs can look a little silly, like little balls with arms, but they're also very interesting! They spend most of the day burrowed up in soil or leaves, and don't hatch as tadpoles - their babies are already frog-shaped, and called froglets!
Black rain frogs in particular have little inward-facing arms that make them better at burrowing! They're only found within a small region of South Africa, and can be up to 2 inches long.
They live in shrubland, preferably near sand they can burrow up in, and don't like living near open water. They only live their 6-inch-long tunnels at night, in order to hunt and mate. They can also inflate to try to scare off predators, getting up to 7 times as big!!

everyone has their mechanisms white whale. be it the librarian (miralines) or Folly Bridge Inn (the show i would pick out of all of them to see) (tims debut).
If you all could pick anything, anything at all, to have answers too, or a video of, or content otherwise, what would it be?

What if the River was a stomach <- probably a cold af take
i actually had a similar theory where the river was a wound/esophagus in the universe!! heres a collection of various evidences so far, some of them only half relevant. bear with me on this:
> john made roses once, but they had teeth
> kirionas chest wound has teeth - this could be a stylistic description but with johns flowers having teeth im leaning into it being literal. additionally i do think this is something he cant control
> kiriona and ianthe are called tower princes. in ntn we see the tower rising up out of the river
> the tower is made of grey brick, the same color as the sand in the river. you could assume the tower is made out of the riverbed
> theres a hole in the bottom of the tower. you could assume that this is one of the stoma holes. it also has teeth (again, dubious metaphorical description, but entirely possible)
Tumblr media
> the definition of stoma: an artificial opening made into a hollow organ, especially one on the surface of the body leading to the gut or trachea.
EDIT TO ADD THESE TAGS thank you @satans-poptarts
Tumblr media
> john has no power or influence beyond the stoma.
> THUS. when john ate the planets he slit the throat of the universe. this is the stoma and it has teeth similar to kirionas. its position along the bank of the river is fluid because its truly neither that deep or anatomically accurate. when the stoma open up and RBs/lyctors go through them, they are expelled from the body of existence. kind of like vomiting. this is why johns influence doesnt go past it.

Free Palestine
I know some people will lose interest in my account, but I will not be complacent. It's been a year since this conflict has "started". Israel has killed over an estimated 40,000 Palestinians, most being children and women. Israel has targeted hospitals, safe zones, and press officials. They have completely destroyed cities and have caused a humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Ceasefire Now. Stop arming Israel. Stop sending billions to Israel.

Lend an Ear to the Hole in the Head Frog
Huia cavitympanum, more commonly known as the hole-in-the-head frog, is a species of frog found only on the island of Borneo. It resides mainly in tropical forests, both in the lowlands and more mountainous regions, particularly those with fast flowing rivers.
The hole-in-the-head frog is named for its unique eardrums, which are recessed into the skull giving the appearance of holes in the sides of its head. This ear drum gives way to a canal similar to that of mammals, which enables H. cavitympanum to hear ultrasonic sounds (above 20 kHz). The species is otherwise quite plain in appearence, with a brown body marked with darker splotches and a stripe down its back. Adults can be anywhere from 4.6-8 cm (1.6-3.1 in) long; females tend to be larger than males.
Due to their ultrasonic calls, the hole-in-the-head frog can be quite difficult to locate, especially as they are active mainly at night. Like most frogs, the species is insectivorous, consuming a variety of beetles, flies, centipedes, and ants. They do most of their hunting along the forest floor, in the low undergrowth, or along riverbanks.
H. cavitympanum uses its high-pitched calls to locate mates along loud, fast-moving streams. Males gather at the edge of these streams and begin calling at the end of the dry season in August, and mating may continue well into the wet season. After mating, the females on rocks at the edge of the water line, and the emerging tadpoles cling to those rocks using an abdominal sucker until they fully mature. The lifespan of this species is unknown.
Conservation status: The IUCN has designated the hole-in-the-head frog as Least Concern. Despite its remote habitat, the species is threatened by habitat loss.

Amazon river frog! They live in the Amazon, and they live near rivers! They don't really live in rivers or only in the Amazon though.
