Let's talk about frogs for the next day of pride month!
For years researchers have observed frogs spontaneously changing sex in lab settings, now they have done the same studies in the wild. Their work suggests that sex change, complete with fully functioning reproductive organs, may be fairly commonplace among green frog populations. Prior research suggested that sex reversal in frogs may be related to pollution introduced by humans, the same scientists’ current research suggests that the change may just be a natural occurrence in amphibians.

White-Lined Tree Frog
AKA Phyllomedusa vaillantii
A funky-looking South American frog! They measure around 2 to 3 inches, and boys and girls have different snouts!
While their body is mostly green, they can have white or orange spots, red or lavender legs, and orange bellies! So colorful!

Demerara Falls Tree Frog
AKA Boana cinerascens
A species of tree frog found in many South American countries, as far north as Venezuela and as south as Bolivia.
It's a tree frog, and it's pretty small, only up to an inch and a half long at most! While most tree frogs live in trees, what actually defines them are claw-like toe bones, which I guess helps them climb!
There's not much special about them, but I like them because they are very green. But they can also have yellow spots or bluish bellies!
As far as I know there's no place called Demerara Falls, so I don't know why they're called that. Maybe they're from Demerara and fall from trees a lot? Poor frogs.
