While pulling up screenshots to reference for some art today I noticed that X'rhun's ring isn't actually in the default location for rings. Player characters typically have them on the index finger. Naturally that piqued my curiosity so I wiki'd if pinky rings on the left hand had any particular symbolism.

A pinky ring may have special significance conferred by the wearer's office or professional association.

That ring looks pretty Red Mage-y so I'm stoked and content to believe that it's something all the Crimson Duelists had to represent their affiliation as such.

But you know, for fanfic fodder, I kept reading, and found it could also mean:

During the Victorian era, both single men and women uninterested in pursuing marriage could wear a ring on the little finger of their left hand.

Or alternatively:

Wedding bands (always a gift from wife to husband) were usually worn by Western men in the Victorian age on the left hand pinky finger

All three of which would be very interesting bits of trivia or tragic backstory to explore.

I originally made them as a biblically accurate angel crimson joke but then made them into rings!crimson.

they're a dusttale archivist. basically their domain is all dusttale related things. they collect dust like shiney pokemon and reshape not only his mind but his body and even personality to their whim.

they remake "dust" in whatever desire they have. this version of crimson is more selfish and unlike regular crimson does not treat dust as an equal despite the power difference.

Crimson and Vixen Knolastname

I wanted to give them more country inspired outfits because they are from wrath, even if they eventually moved to greed when Moxxie was young. Plus, a southern mobster sounds really cool.

I imagine Vixen having been a well known country singer in wrath, so I gave her a glamorous sparkly white dress. I also changed her horns to make them different from Millie’s.

With Crimson, I just changed up his suit to be less loud and Italian. Also changed his tail to accentuate the zigzag.

Thanks to the He Is Out! blog for posting these images (and more) of this love scene between Daniel Garcia and MJF following Garcia's heartbreaking loss to Will Ospreay. We see MJF trying to console his crestfallen buddy by helping him to his feet and giving him a big hug. That's what Bro's do! (I'd sure cheer up if MJF loved on me like that!)

But then the Dickhead Heel pulls a Dickhead Heel move:

I keep imagining rings! crimson starting beef with nightmare by messing with his dust or well former dust thrall poking holes at his domain. chewing away at the edges of his territory

I mean they feel entitled to every dust variant there is in the multiverse... they ARE the catalyst of dusttale after all by proxy the cause of all dust aus and it's self proclaimed "god"

like I know anomalies aren't probably a thing in elderich twins but I wanna put rings crimson and your nightmare and watch them fight.

I have no idea who Rings!Crimson is but anomalies do exist! Well, sort of.

Anomalies can usually form from beyond the Veil so seeing Rings!Crimson and Nightmare in the same room IS possible in theory.

But if they are chewing at Nightmare's territory (his island in the sea), there will absolutely be a confrontation. Especially if he finds out that they want HIS Kismet. He might send out Desmond and Trepid to deal with it and if that doesn't work, he'll do it himself.

Nightmare is VERY possessive over his Thralls so even the threat of one of them going missing is enough to make him a life-long enemy.
