#remus didn’t deserve to be alone any longer

i was thinking of remadora and how they obviously loved each other but remus was gay asf right?
remus would do anything for sirius and it showed. and despite that, he loved grant SO MUCH but grant just wasn’t sirius.
grant made the decision to leave for the better of both of them. he didn’t want to make remus choose (he knew he would choose sirius) so he chose for the both of their sakes.
“After all that waiting, they hadn't had very long at all, in the end.”
so now grant was gone, and sirius was gone, and now what? bro falls in love with a woman?
i don’t doubt remus loved nymphadora because they had a kid together but i can’t help but to wonder if he felt the same way towards her that he did with sirius or grant.
even outside the atyd universe, just looking at headcanon, i find it hard to believe that remus was alone for 12 years, mourning the loss of his friends, the loss of his sirius, just for him to feel nothing when sirius returns, and marry off to his cousin after he dies.
in my head, despite canon, i like to believe that remus and tonks married for the sake of getting married. maybe that’s selfish of my wolfstar heart, but i think they’re both queer characters who got with each other for the sake of not being alone. i think they loved each other, but not for the sake of love.
it also doesn’t help that the sole reason remadora exists is because JK Rowling is an awful person and couldn’t stand the thought of a people shipping a queer couple of her creation. it throws a wrench in the beliefs of headcanon, and makes the story all the more complicated and equally tragic.

here we are lovelies, part 2 to this but can def be read as a stand-alone
remus lupin x reader
warnings; smut! p in v, fem!reader, dom!remus, lots of pet names and praise, cum play if you squint
pt3
—————
the marauders dorm was filled with nothing but snores, soft shuffling and the occasional murmur from a sleeping sirius. but behind closed bed curtains and a silencing charm, remus was finally giving his girl her much deserved reward.
she’d lost count of the amount of times he’d made her cum tonight. first on his fingers, then with his mouth, and now, on his cock.
“please, can’t take it anymore remmy,”
“just one more for me, sweet girl,”
“feels so good,”
the wet sounds that were coming from her cunt would have normally embarrassed the girl, had she not been so far gone. she could barely focus on anything other than the feeling of remus’ cock repeatedly rubbing up against that sweet spot so deep inside her.
“that’s it, being so good for me. always such a good girl, y’like doing as you’re told, huh?”
she couldn’t even register what remus had said, her head feeling way too foggy to manage doing anything but moaning. luckily, remus didn’t much care about her lack of responses, instead loving when she allowed herself to be vulnerable and let herself get into this headspace.
needing to feel her come again, he shifted, pulling her legs back from where they were wound tightly around his waist. instead, lifting them both over his broad shoulders to improve his angle.
he eyes lingered on her belly, the new angle causing a budge to form from where his cock pounded in and out of her. he moved his hand to press down on it gently, as her moans got progressively louder.
“i know, you’re s’close aren’t you? hold it a little longer for me,”
she shook her head as best as she could, not sure if she could physically hold herself back any longer after the overstimulation he’d plagued her with for the past hour.
his pace quickened, and her cries only mimicked that. only when her legs spasmed and her eyes began to roll back did he give in and grant her permission.
“cum for me, sweetheart,”
she gasped, back instantly arching and body filling with the overwhelming feeling of pleasure.
he let out a loud groan at the pulsing sensation around his cock, finally allowing himself to release inside of her. his chest heaved as he tried to keep himself upright, so exhausted he could’ve easily collapsed down onto her soft chest.
he gently removed her legs from him, rubbing soothing circles into her thighs and hips to try and reduce any soreness that may have been caused from their previous strenuous position. only when he was happy that she wasn’t too uncomfortable, did he rest his upper body onto her whilst he recovered from his intense orgasm.
“so proud of you, baby. you took it so well for me. always do,” he said softly, pressing loving kisses into the crook of her sweaty neck.
she whimpered as he slowly pulled out from her abused cunt, the sudden, empty feeling too much to bare. he watched as his cum began to flow out of her, and couldn’t help but gently push it back inside with his thick fingers. the returning feeling of her walls clamping tightly around him made his half-limp cock twitch against his thigh.
“remmy,”
“sh sh sh, you’re okay, ‘m all done now,”

About a week after the two professors had fallen asleep whilst talking, everything was kind of normal. Y/N was actively avoiding Remus and Severus has been particularly rude to the new professor. Harry had finally taken to questioning his aunt about her strange behavior and Snape’s aggressive nature toward Remus. He had waited until after dinner, following her into the greenhouse.
“Aunt Y/N, Professor Lupin said he knew my parents. Did you know him too?” Harry asked, trying to mask his intentions.
“You just want to know why I avoid him, don’t you?” She sighed, looking her nephew in the eye.
“I can’t hide anything from you, can I?”
“You certainly cannot, my love. I know you too so I know you won’t leave me alone until I tell you or you pester Sev enough to tell you. Come sit with me, this is gonna be a longer talk than I want it to be but you deserve to know everything about the situation,” She explained. The two Potters entered her office and sat on the very same couch Minerva had spotted Y/N and Severus the week earlier. “We can start off with how I first met Remus. We met on platform 9 ¾ right before the train came, James was off with some of his friends…”
**
The platform was bustling with witches and wizards alike, the anticipation waiting for the Hogwarts Express was palpable. James was off chatting with Sirius and Y/N was sitting on the ground with her nose stuck in her herbology book. Her mind was racing because she was nervous about what house she would be put in, she was wondering who her professors were, if they were nice and so on. James promised her that all of the professors were nice, Dumbledore, McGonagall and Slughorn were some he mentioned by name. Although James had tried reassuring her, it didn’t do much to help ease her nerves.
“You’re James’ sister, right?” A voice came from her right, startling her slightly, “Sorry to frighten you, he has a picture of the two of you in our dorm so I thought I’d say hi. My name is Remus.”
“Like Remus and Romulus? That’s pretty cool. I’m Y/N, it’s nice to meet you,” She said. The two had begun chatting, talking about where they lived, what their families were like, Remus asked her what subject she was most excited to learn about and of course the young witch had said Herbology.
Once the train had arrived, Remus and Y/N boarded together, talking all the while as they tried to find a compartment to sit in. The only empty one was in the back of the train so the two sat and talked the whole ride to Hogwarts, The conversation only pausing when the sweets trolley rolled by and when James and Sirius had popped in to say hello.
Their friendship only grew from there, Remus helping her study for DADA and History Of Magic and Y/N helping him study for Charms and Herbology. Once Remus had joined James, Sirius and Peter, the five wizards got up to lots of trouble. Although Y/N was a year younger than the other four, she was more than willing to help out with pranks. Her and Remus, however, were the only two that strayed away from bullying other students, especially Severus Snape.
**
“That was how Remus and I became friends, he was the fastest friend I had ever made. We talked for only like a minute and became friends right away. We got closer and closer as the years went on. I'll spare some details about our friendship because we got into some trouble or we would just hang out in the library reading or studying. Everything got rough once James and Lily were killed.”
**
Remus showed up to the destroyed house in Godric’s Hollow, Y/N outside of the fence with a crying Harry in her arms, Severus standing beside her, his cloak over her shoulders to keep her warm in the cold autumn air.
“Y/N, is it true? He killed them?” Remus asked her.
“J-Jamie and Lils are dead, h-he tried t-to kill Harry but he s-survived somehow,” She stuttered out behind her tears. Severus excused himself so the two friends could talk things out.
“Peter is dead, Sirius was the one who sold them out, he murdered Peter and a dozen muggles,” He explained, “Listen, dove, I need to go, I’ll send you an owl okay?” She just nodded and watched him apparate away.
She was left for a while to cry, until Severus showed up and escorted her elsewhere, somewhere she could be safe and warm with baby Harry. Somewhere she could escape the reality that faced her, she was alone with a child she didn’t know how to care for, a child that would be legend. A boy who lived, the only known survivor of the killing curse and the defeater of Lord Voldemort.
**
“I know you like professor Lupin and I understand that, he's a great guy. He just left me at a time where I really needed him. We got into an argument last week and I’ve been avoiding him since,” Y/N explained, “I don’t want any of this to change the way you look at Lupin, he’s an incredibly smart man and an extremely talented wizard.”
Harry decided to let things go until winter came around. He had once again been attacked by a dementor, luckily Dumbledore stopped his fall before he hit the ground of the Quidditch pitch. Harry went to Remus for help but he was too weak at the time, after the break he was promised a lesson about patronuses, a way to keep himself safe from dementors.
Harry had the wonderful idea to sneak around Hogsmeade with the invisibility cloak (even though he had permission to go), finding out from Minerva, after sneaking in behind her and the minister of magic, that Sirius Black was his godfather. Herminone and Ron helped Harry back to Hogwarts, where he sought out his aunt.This of course, was against the advice of Hermione who told him to just sleep it off and talk to her in the morning. He knew she was in the greenhouses, either tending to the plants or grading student papers. What he didn’t expect to find was her and the potions master laughing over tea. He stared at the pair, tears threatening to leave his eyes, the sense of betrayal weighed heavy on him.
“You knew,” He uttered. The two professors stopped laughing and turned to Harry, not expecting him to be in her office.
“What happened, my love? Why are you so upset?” Y/N asked, her voice laced with concern for her nephew.
“You knew,” He repeated.
“What are you talking about Harry? What did I know?” She was confused, she had never seen her nephew so distraught over something before, she wanted nothing but to help him with whatever he was dealing with.
“You knew that Sirius Black killed my parents! You knew that Sirius Black ratted them out to Voldemort! You knew Sirius Black! You know he’s my godfather! He was your friend!” Harry finally shouted at his aunt.
“There is no need to shout, Harry, come sit, let’s talk this out,” Y/N said calmly although deep down she too, was distraught. She had never wanted Harry to know about Sirius’ role in his life but somehow, he had found out.
“No, I want you to tell me right here! I don’t want to sit and talk!”
“That is no way to speak to your aunt, Harry,” Snape chimed in, upset with how the boy was screaming at his aunt, the woman who cared for him and loved him his whole life.
“You shut up, this has nothing to do with you!”
“Harry! Apologize to him right now!” Y/N scolded, the tension in the room was rising, she knew at any moment that Harry would snap and in turn so would Severus.
“NO! He has no right to be a part of this conversation! It’s between me and you!” Severus was about to go at the boy but once Y/N had laid her hand on his shoulder, he stopped short. The pair made eye contact, Severus knowing she wanted to handle this by herself so he excused himself to her office to get the potion ingredients he originally came to her for.
“I knew about Sirius being your godfather, yed. Of course I did, I’m your godmother, the two of us did everything for you until Sirius turned on us. He was your father’s best friend,” Y/N told her nephew.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Harry demanded the answer.
“I didn’t want you to know, you’ve dealt with enough in your life, I didn’t want to add another thing on top of it.”
“So you knew he sold out my parents to Voldemort?”
“Yes, I knew. Trust me Harry, I didn’t like it just as you don’t. I feel just as betrayed if not more because he was like a brother to us,” Y/N tried to explain, somehow keeping herself calm throughout the conversation even though she kept seeing the picture of her brother dead on the floor in her mind.
“You feel betrayed! You’ve lied to me my whole life! You never told me anything! Nothing about Professor Lupin, nothing about Sirius Black, nothing about Peter Pettigrew! Why?” Harry went back to shouting at his aunt, a glass next to her shattering to pieces.
“Because it hurts me Harry! It hurts to even think about it, let alone talk about it! Remus and Sirius were my brothers and they betrayed me! Peter at least died instead of betraying us, instead of leaving me! It pains me to talk about your father but I do it anyway, for you! Everything I do is for you Harry, don’t you realize that! You are the most important thing in my life! You expect me to just turn around and hurt you the way I got hurt once I learned about all of this!” She shouted back, the glass from some of her cabinets shattered as she shouted at the boy.
“If I’m the most important thing in your life, why lie? Why hide this from me!” Harry was now just looking for a fight, he was getting information out of his aunt by upsetting her so he continued to do it.
“Because I love you! Because I care about you! You are my boy! You are like the son I never got to have! You are exactly like your father! Your father that I miss every single day because he was my best friend! You are the only family I have Harry James Potter! You are the only family I will ever have!” She had begun crying, wiping her tears as they came to try and appear like she was not crying even though Harry knew she was.
“You’re not my mother! You will never be my mother!” Harry screamed at her, this caused the woman to burst into tears, Severus had come back into the room once he had heard her crying.
“That’s enough Harry, go back to your dormitory,” Severus said sternly.
“No!”
“Stop acting like a defiant child and do as I say. You’ve done enough, you wanted your answers, you got them. Now go!” The potion’s master was furious at the boy, he had never seen Harry act this way before, in all the years of knowing him, this had never happened. Harry had stormed out of the greenhouse leaving the two professors once again. The day had started off cheerful and happy and ended with Y/N in despair and spiraling due to not only her nephew but remembering what she had seen and the trials and tribulations she had gone through.

No title because I’m lazy
A/N~ Heyy sorry I’ve been so inactive the last while I’ve had severe writers block but I’ll try my best to get a few things done in the next week or so.. well hopefully lmao!! Yes it is another marauders post but it’s been in my drafts for over a year and plus I rarely see any new ones so why not put some out there myself?? Anyways enjoy the fic and I’ll hopefully write again soon💕
🛑WARNING: THIS IS A TICKLE FIC IF YOU DON’T LIKE, DON’T READ🛑
Lee(s): Mainly James but also Sirius, Remus and Peter
Ler(s): James, Sirius kinda Remus and Peter
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
James Potter was what people would call a very tactile person. He showed his love and affection through touch.
He was never seen without an arm around Peter or his hands tangled in Remus’ hair. Sirius never thought about his actions until today when he was visited by a familiar friend of his..
The tickle monster.
“Jahaahahamehes stAHAP IHIHIT” He writhed beneath his attacker. James let up noticing the alarming colour of red that had engulfed Sirius’ face.
“Maybe next time don’t provoke me then okay?” He smirked.
Sirius was left alone sat on his bed when he began to think. James was always tickling him and the others, it was just another way he showed affection. But then it suddenly hit him that it was always James doing the tickling..
He couldn’t remember the last time James had been properly reduced to a pile of giggles and tears. He could name hundreds of times James was doing the “reducing”.
He decided to watch carefully for the next while to see if he could figure out if maybe James was actually doing this in hope of receiving the same affection back..
•~•~•~•~•
That evening, Peter spilled ink over an essay James had spent ages working on and they all knew exactly what was about to happen to poor Pete. He apologised hundreds of times but James had already set his target.
Immediately the room was filled with please and squeals as James got his well deserved revenge. It only lasted a minute or two but Peter was a mess by the end. He helped James clean up the mess and re write his essay and everything went back to how it was.
Sirius however hadn’t missed the slightest blush grazing his best friends face and a look of what he thought was disappointment?
Was James hoping it would escalate further into him being the victim? Definitely. In all honesty Sirius could just put James out of his misery and tickle him then and there but he was enjoying watching his friend become embarrassed and flustered by the situation.
Anyways, he needed to be 100% sure that James was really looking to be tickled before he struck. You know, incase he didn’t actually like it and Sirius was misreading the whole thing..
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•
The next morning as always, James was the first to wake. The only difference is that Sirius woke up early too, he was too giddy about his experiment to sleep any longer.
Peter got up as well hearing the other two pottering about the dorm. Only Remus remained in his bed. As Sirius had predicted, James wasn’t having it.
When James is up everyone has to be up.
He had already called Remus to wake up multiple times. The others knew Remus hated mornings but James wouldn’t take no for an answer, even if it was a Saturday. James quietly tip toed towards the unsuspecting boy and crawled carefully onto his bed. With one leg either side of his friends torso he began to lightly walk his fingers up and down his sides.
Remus was laying on his stomach, hands above his head, leaving his entire back and sides completely vulnerable. He shuddered feeling the light pressure from James’ hands.
Too tired to know what was happening, Remus just lay there for a moment. Half asleep, he began to squirm and James’ actions had drawn a few sleepy giggles from the boy.
“Moony don’t make me do this, wake up mate!!” James insisted. All he got in return from Remus was a grunt.
“You leave me no choice..” He rapidly spidered his hands all over his ribs and sides. Remus jerked and burst into fits of giggles.
Once again it didn’t last long, just enough time for Remus to get in a few pokes himself, nothing major. James however fell off the bed in suprise!!
“James, don’t ever do that again or I swear to Merlin I’ll murder you!!,”Remus said helping James up off the floor.
This time, James’ face had very obviously reddened but Remus had the decency not to mention it.
Sirius did not.
“Mate you are as red as Lily’s hair, you alright?” He remarked with a grin
“Just fine thanks Pads.”
James rushed off and the others didn’t see much of him that day. Sirius suspected he must have been rather embarrassed and needed some alone time.
•~•~•~•~•
That evening James returned to the dorm back to his usual bubbly self.
Sirius decided he had waited long enough and now was his time to strike.
James sat by Peter and Remus, they were currently in the middle of a very intense game of exploding snap. Sirius moved quietly from his bed to the floor behind James.
It was James’ turn and Sirius decided it was now or never. James went to place his card when he felt two hands kneading his sides. He elicited a loud shriek and his card fell from his hands causing a minor explosion.
“Haha James you lose!!” Peter laughed dusting off the ash from his face.
“C’mon Pete let’s get cleaned up, we’ll be back for round two in a bit James!” Remus explained. The real reason he was dragging Peter out of there was because he totally knew what was going on and he wanted to, well, help Sirius on his investigation.
“Sorry James, that was a pretty illegal move there. I know you hate when I do that, I won’t anymore, promise.” Sirius was really trying to rile him up now.
“I uhm, I don’t mind it.” James mumbled so quietly that if sirius had been any further from him he wouldn’t have noticed he’d even spoke.
“You what?” He asked with an underlying tone of mischief. Finally, James turned to face him and blurted out “I saidthatIdontmindit-”
“Don’t mind what prongs?” Sirius enquired with a smirk on his face. “When you.. you know.” He gestured his hand at Sirius trying to explain what he meant. Sirius acted as though he had no idea what James was on about. “God Sirius I don’t mind when you tickle me ok!? You’re awful at taking hints,” he huffed while simultaneously covering his red hot face.
“No need for the attitude Potter,” he rolled his eyes in false annoyance and swiftly brought his hands down to his friend’s sides again preparing for attack. “You’re in no position to be rude right now.”
James burst into laughter as he was tickled to pieces on the dormitory floor. Even if you hadn’t done all the research Sirius had on him it was clear that James was really enjoying himself. He had one of those smiles plastered across his face where it was so wide he felt that if it got any wider that his cheeks would split. Sirius mirrored this because seeing his best friend so happy was everything he could want.
James didn’t even try to flee at this point because a mutual understanding was formed between them that this wasn’t embarrassing and he could just enjoy himself.
He spent the majority of that evening giggling away as Sirius poked, squeezed and scribbled over every spot he could find and it sent James into hysterics. Once Sirius reached his ribs though, he lost it.
“OHOKAHAHAY OKAHAY THAHATS ENOUGH!! PLEHEHEASE”
“Hmmm I don’t know Jamesie are you sure you’ve received all the attention you so clearly wanted?”
“YEHES”
“You 100% certain?” He was really teasing now.
“SIRIUHUS IHIM GONNA KILL YOHOUU”
“I’ll take that as a yes then.”
The curly headed boy flopped over as he regained his breath, hands attempting to rub away the phantom tickles he felt lingering.
“James you know if you really wanted me to do that you could’ve just asked?” Sirius was actually being sincere this time around, he wanted James to know he wasn’t judging at all.
“It was just embarrassing I guess, not really the normal thing to like eh?” He was still terribly red but he kept his wide smile.
“Doesn’t mean it’s embarrassing, sure I’m going to tease the hell out of you about this for the rest of your life but really, it’s not something to hide,” he grinned that Sirius black grin as his friend shoved at his shoulder.
“Thanks mate, I appreciate” sarcasm dripped from his voice but he smiled getting up from the floor.
They spent the rest of the evening playing exploding snap and yes Sirius did use that illegal move many more times but they all knew James didn’t mind. Let’s just say the next time he set off the cards he seemed to find his punishment very amusing and the gryfindor boys dorm was filled with laughter once again.

Of all the secrets that infested Hogwarts, from hidden passageways and secret alcoves meant for ‘private’ moments between lovers to the hidden chamber beneath their very feet that contained a monster no one could ever imagine, there was only one that seemed to constantly be at the forefront of everyone’s minds: where would the Marauders strike next. To be fair, though they were troublemakers through and through, there were very few people outside of Slytherin that would warrant a direct attack from the band of troublemakers. A direct attack, by most standards, was more karmic punishment than anything else. Besides, who would want to purposely get on the bad side of the infamous Marauders?
Alas, there was nothing to do about the random victims that found themselves at the end of a prank meant to simply disrupt the student body, or, merlin forgive, meant for someone else. After a few trouble incidents, the Marauders knew when something would be too much, too dangerous, to play on anyone but each other (or those who really deserved it). Things like color-changing robes or gravity-defying hair did little to hurt the actual human, and, although embarrassing, no one would complain they were genuinely injured by being followed by a group of singing paper frogs. Dung bombs were a common occurrence, though mainly in abandoned classrooms just to cause a little ruckus, and sticking charms worked wonderfully when getting an entire house to topple over their Great Hall bench. Even McGonagall couldn’t help her lips from twitching when the main staircase turned into a waterslide, students finding themselves wet but full of laughter once they safely reached the bottom. Taking away their wands did little to stop them when shortly after that incident, a mob of first years came wailing into her office about a were-rabbit that ate first years who didn’t jumps in a circle three times before leaving the dorms.
Harmless, but fun, seemed to be the motto for them, but for most of the students, it was always a safe bet to be amicable but keep a fair distance. Once a Marauder set their eyes on you, who knows what the outcome could be?
Naturally, that outcome was worth the risk for several students who were just dying to get the chance to be with a Marauder, no matter the risk of jinxes.
Sirius Black, the most infamous of the lot, took to the attention with a blinding smile. That smile was enough to charm a hippogryph into bowing first, and did he know it. Not only was it nigh impossible to get him to confess to any prank he didn’t want to take credit for, but the Slytherin in him somehow managed to get the conversation to completely flip in his favor without breaking a sweat. He took pride in his executions of plans and used his influence to openly flirt with anyone he deemed fit (to be fair, anyone he deemed fit ranged from people he actually fancied, random students he hardly knew, and enemies he just couldn’t help flustering in the worst way). Students flocked to him without much prodding.
Peter Pettigrew, on the other hand, found it impossible to conjure a powerful enough hex to noticeably make a difference in a fight, let alone speak to a woman without getting tongue-tied. That didn’t stop his own little group of admirers, though most liked him because of his connection to the other three.
James Potter was as handsome as he was brash, as loyal as he was loud. His smile was blinding, his jokes quickwitted, and magically powerful to boot. It was no secret he was the unnamed leader of his friends, at least to those outside his inner circle, and his bravado certainly did nothing to stop the rumors about his position. Despite his undying love for one Lily Evans, he was constantly swarmed with students wanting to be close to him, in either admiration or lust. It didn’t help that he was Quidditch Captain as well, soaring through the air with his untamable hair whipping around behind him.
And then there was Remus Lupin, an enigma to those outside his social circle, but a treasure within. Most found it hard to understand how a kind, gentle-mannered student came to be friends with the likes of the other three, but a single moment alone with the four of them was enough to see how his eye lit up with mischief, how he was the first to enter a suspicious hallway, how he really was the brains of the operation. His mile-high stack of books was just a cover for the smaller notebooks hidden within, detailing pranks and planning for the best moment to attack. Though he didn't have many friends outside the Marauders, and those that were close to the other three, only a fool couldn’t see the line of people just waiting for him to open his barriers just a little to let them in.
So, when sixth year approached and the usual quiet Gryffindor was seen chatting enthusiastically with someone in the library, the ruckus it caused amongst the student body was nearly enough of a distraction from the paint-exploding bubbles that had shown up in the Potions hallway the day before.
“Look what you’ve done now, Moony,” Sirius remarked, faining disappointment, “and after knowing how hard James and I worked to get those up before breakfast.” Remus furrowed his brow.
“What are you talking about?” Sirius sniggered.
“Don’t play daft, you silly wolf. We know all about your secret randevu in the library.” When Remus continued to look at him quizzically, Sirius’ smirk dropped. “Wait, you really don’t know?”
“I have no clue what you’re talking about.”
“Come on, Remus, don’t play dumb. Norman said Wilkins said Lawson said Grant saw you snogging someone in the library near the restricted section!” Remus immediately blushed bright red, whipping his head around before pulling Sirius into an alcove. Sirius’ smirk returned.
“Where in the hell did you hear that? How-when…no, it doesn’t matter. How many people heard that?”
“Come off it, Mooneykins.” Sirius patted his arm condescendingly. “You don’t have to keep a secret anymore. I do have to say I’m a bit disappointed I had to learn from bloody Norman that you’ve got yourself a secret shag, but if it was going to be anyone it would be her. Can’t keep a thing to herself can she-” He paused abruptly when Remus grabbed his shoulders.
“I’m serious”
“Actually, I’m Sirius.” When Remus didn’t even give him a goodnatured huff, Sirius frowned. “What’s going on? I understand if you want to keep it a secret-”
“That’s not it!” Sirius jumped at the urgency in his voice. “Oh, no, no, no. This is just awful.”
“Remus, mate, what’s going on?”
“I didn’t kiss anyone, I promise.” Sirius’ shoulders deflated a bit. As happy as he was for his friend to have found someone, he did admit a small portion of himself was upset Remus hadn’t told any of them. “The library…I’ve become study partners with someone from my arithmancy class. It was Professor Grant’s idea to have designated study partners for the class since there are so few of us this year.” Remus finally let Sirius go, rubbing his upper arm absentmindedly. Sirius eyed the action; the full moon was fast approaching. “I-uh. I’ve enjoyed it so far.”
“Oh? What’s this? My devious little Moon Pie has a crush on someone?” Remus flushed, and this time Sirius could tell this time it was out of embarrassment. “Oh, just wait until James finds out. You will have a partner by the end of this term, Moony, just you wait.”
“No!” Remus yelped, stopping Sirius from leaving their hiding spot. Sirius raised his brow. “You-you can’t tell James.”
“Why the hell not?” Remus looked down, looking ever the kicked puppy. Sirius pursed his lips, looking him up and down once before understanding flashed behind his eyes. “Oh. You’ve got yourself in quite the pickle here.”
“Tell me about it,” Remus huffed. “But, it’s not what you think. You know how James is, ever the unobservant one when a prank is getting set up. It was an accident, but he managed to stop it just in time and save the day.” Sirius had never heard the bitter tone come from his friend the way it had as he spoke the last few words. “Besides, who would ever want to date a monster like-.” Sirius raised his brow.
“How bad are we talking?” Remus looked at him strangely, though he was used to his friends cutting him off when he got too self-deprecating. “I need to know if this person is just using you to get to James, Remus, before I decide to hex them into oblivion.”
“No! Nothing like that!” Remus shook his head, though his smile had a little bit of gratitude in it. “It-It’s just studying. James has never really been brought up, except by me.”
“So they’re one of the good ones, then?” Remus nodded. “That’s good to hear.”
“Wait…wait, wait, what is that look? I don’t like that look.” Sirius’ face was curling so much Remus worried it would curl into itself. “Pads, please, don’t do anything foolish.”
“Me?” Sirius did not have the right to look so offended. “Come off it, Moony. When have I ever been foolish?”
Remus grumbled under his breath, but did nothing to stop his friend from throwing an arm around his shoulder, pulling him along to the Great Hall. Their late arrival caused James and Peter to raise a brow at them, but thankfully, Sirius kept his mouth shut (though he hadn’t wiped away that smug and devious smile). Remus would only have to keep his partner - study partner, he reminded himself - away from his friends until they grew bored and found something else to entertain them.
And he was right, for the most part. Almost exactly a month had passed since Sirius and Remus’ conversation in the hall, and there didn’t seem to be any moves to embarrass him in front of the first person he decided to open himself up to. They continued to meet at their regular time, bumping up their biweekly meetings to three times a week much to his glee, and besides catching James and Sirius snickering while looking at him, or the much-unappreciated stopovers at his table during said study time, they hadn’t done anything to raise alarm. That didn’t mean Remus was any less tense during meetups, just in case one of those idiots decided to let things slip.
“Are you okay, Remus?” The question startled him, his eyes raising from the paper he was practically glaring into. You were looking at him with pinched brows, your lips upticked in a gentle smile. He could tell the expectant way you were looking at him meant you had said something he didn’t hear.
“What?” You gestured gently to his hand, which was curled so tightly around his quill it was nearly bent. “Oh! Sorry.”
“You don’t need to apologize. But, are you? Okay, I mean.”
“Yeah. Yes,” he said, waving his hand gently to placate you. Although your smile didn’t change, you returned to your work, letting him think in peace. His face flushed lightly. How dare he sit here and think the things he was when you were so innocently sitting across from him, not a clue in the world? He felt dirty. Yes, he was on edge because he hadn’t seen James or Sirius since this morning, not since they parted ways after a breakfast where they insisted on whispering secretly to one another. The full moon was far too close for Remus to get involved in something mischievous, using most of his brain power to tame the beast within him. There were moments though, moments where his wolf's thoughts and his were so close he couldn’t stop them from overlapping in his mind. Even now, as you so innocently leaned closer to look over the book in front of him, his mind was overrun with thoughts of pressing his face into your neck and finally, finally, getting a whiff of your scent uninterrupted by the other teenage hormones around them that he had to suffer through all day. He indulged himself in just the smallest of imaginations, thinking what he could do if you weren’t in the library full of other students-
“Are you sure you’re okay, Remus?” He shivered at the way you said his name. “Because I wouldn’t mind taking a little break.” His smile turned soft at your kindness.
“That’s probably a good idea,” he whispered, setting his pen down despite not having used it for the last ten or so minutes. “I’m…uh-just a little distracted today.”
“I get days like that too. And it’s no help when focusing is on arithmancy, of all things.” His heart fluttered, his inner wolf growling. “What would you like to talk about instead?”
“How has your day been?” You laughed lightly. Remus never seemed to want to talk about himself, always nudging you to talk instead or simply talking about what his other friends were up to. Baby steps, you thought to yourself, one day you’ll get there with him.
“It’s been alright. I got an E on that potions paper you helped me with, thank you again by the way, and my roommates and I were thinking a Honeydukes run is in order for our next Hogsmeade trip. Are you sure there isn’t anything I can get you while we’re there?” You wanted to invite Remus to go with you and your friends, but he declined with a frown, stating he wasn’t going able to leave the castle the coming weekend to due plans. With whom, you didn’t know, but Remus missing a Hogsmeade trip usually meant the Marauders were up to no good, and a trip to the Hospital Wing was already penciled into your plans come Sunday.
“That’s great news on the paper! I knew you could do it, you just needed a little push in confidence. You’re very talented, even Slughorn knows it.” You blushed at his praise. “Thank you again for the offer, but I can’t let you do that for you. I always have next trip.”
“If you’re sure…” Your voice trailed off, before you jumped a little in your seat. “By the way, did you say anything to James about…us?” All at once, his heart fell then leaped.
“Wh-what do you mean?”
“He came up to me this morning and introduced himself.” Remus shared your bewildered look. “I was equally as confused. I know he’s never said anything directly to me when he comes to talk to you, but at least he would mention me vaguely being there. So, I was just wondering if there was something he was playing at.” Remus couldn’t help the fond smile twitch the corner of his mouth.
“James is always up to something.” Then, he frowned. “But why would he introduce himself to you? Why now?”
“That’s what I was wondering.” Your cheeks blushed slightly. “I was worried that he was going to bring up how I used to feel, so I ran away quickly after that.” Before he could even think about, let alone form words to ask what you meant by ‘used to’, a hand clapped him on the shoulder, then another right after. You both jumped.
“Ah, there he is! The pride and joy of Gryffindor house, our lovely genius, Remus.” Sirius’ smirk could be heard without him even turning around. On his other side, James leaned down so they were face to face.
“You don’t mind if I borrow your…absolutely lovely study partner, do you, Moony?” Remus’ brow raised. “I just have something I want to ask.”
“Ask?” Both you and Remus spoke at the same time.
“Come on, Moonykins, let’s give the lovebirds some space.” Sirius’ remark made Remus whip his head back and forth, looking between the three people surrounding him.
“Love birds?” James smirked lightly.
“Well, cats out of the bag, I supposed. What do you say, darling? I’ve seen the way you are around our Moony and I have to say I’m a bit jealous. Won’t you ease my breaking heart and join me for some time alone at Hogsmeade?”
“James…” Remus’ voice was low, dangerous, more so than you had ever heard it. You made eye contact with Sirius, who looked just as alarmed. James, on the other hand, just smiled brightly, meeting Remus’ glare head-on.
“You haven’t staked your claim on this one yet, right?” Remus jumped up at that, hands reaching for his wand that was on the table beside him. Sirius, just as quickly, wrapped his arm around his wolfy friend, trying to pull him back. James’ face was suddenly a lot more serious. “Moony?”
“Don’t talk like that!” You nearly jumped out of your seat, ready to round the table and approach…whatever was happening in front of you. Your kind, gentle Remus was so unlike himself, your heart throbbed painfully in your chest at what could possibly be causing that. James reached out to stop you, and the small contact was enough for Remus’ eyes to flash gold. You gasped.
“Moony. You need to calm down.” People were looking now, and Madam Price was headed over, eyes glaring daggers at the commotion in her library. Sirius managed to haul Remus away, nearly dragging him down the isles towards the exit.
James sighed, running a hand down his face, before abruptly remembering you were there. He spun on his heel, practically mowing you over, before peering so close to your face you could smell his hair potion. His eyes were narrowed, as if that would help him figure out what you knew. After a moment, you stepped back, clearing your throat.
“I’m flattered, Ja-Potter, really,” you said, your eyes darting between him and the pair that walked through the door, “but I-”
“Oh!” James huffed, laughing. “I’m sorry, for dragging you into this. I’m sure you’re an amazing person, what with Moony acting the way he did for you, but I’m head over heels for a certain Redhead with no other space in my heart.”
“Then why…?”
“Why? Because Moony is…” James stopped himself suddenly, looking you over once more. You could have sworn you heard him say ‘having his time of the month’ but he moved on before you could dwell on it. “He’s bad at expressing how he really feels. Always holding himself back, that kind of thing. Pads and I thought it would be a good idea to get him to realize he was being a bit of an idiot by…pushing things along.” You raised a brow.
“And you thought angering him was a good way to do that?”
“He isn’t usually like that, but every once in a while, it works to get the outcome we want.” James looked at you again. “You’re…okay, right? Moony didn’t scare you or anything, did he? I didn’t expect him to react like that.”
“Neither did I.” You sighed. “But no, not scared. He was acting a bit strange since before, but I hope he’s going to be okay.” James’ eyes softened.
“Don’t worry,” he said, gently placing a hand on your shoulder, “our Moony always bounces back after a bit. Things are a little…complicated, but I have no doubt he’ll tell you everything one day.” You nodded once, satisfied. “Now, was I in the middle of being rejected?”
“Oh, shut up,” you laughed, punching his shoulder, “you idiot. You knew I was going to say no, weren’t you?”
“Have to be a bit more of an idiot than you think not to notice the way you and Moony ogle at each other.” You blushed, opening your mouth to retort. “Plus you haven’t been as shy when speaking to me recently.” At that, you didn’t have a response. “Moony is a bit…out of it, and is really hard on himself. I’m sorry to tell you, but if you want anything to happen with him, you’ll be the one to make that first step.”
“But, how do I know if he even feels that way about me?” James looked at you incredulously.“ You’re serious? He was one second away from casting a very real hex in my direction when I so much as insinuated you were a plaything. Moony doesn’t do that to just anyone.” At your shy look, James sighed. “Look, by Sunday Moony will be back to his disgustingly adorable self and you can return to the way you were, or you could make my best friend the happiest I’ve ever seen him. It’s completely up to you.” James swiped Remus’ things from the table, shoving them into his bag. “If I were you though, I wouldn’t wait too long. Looked like our dear Moony has a bit more animal in him than I thought.” He laughed evilly, only spurred on by your gob smacked face. Just you wait Moony, he thought, you’ll thank me by Monday.

i haven’t written any fics in months, but here we are! this is a m/arauders fic and takes place during their seventh year when they’re all 19
wolfstar will eventually be paired together, but in this part they’re just pining. anyways, i hope you guys enjoy sick s/irius b/lack as much as i do :)
The Hogwarts campus was unusually empty over the Christmas break, which Remus relished. He much preferred being able to wander around the castle, occasionally making additions to the Marauders Map. The map was nearly complete now that the marauders were seventh years.
It was past curfew, but Filch had given up patrolling the corridors over break- his cat Ms. Norris didn’t like the cold. This meant Remus had practically had free reign over the castle for the past week. James and Peter had both gone home for the holidays. Sirius, on the other hand, wasn’t allowed home this Christmas. He’d received a howler from his mother after pulling a particularly nasty prank on the Slytherin house- even at 19, Sirius was hellbent on pranking his rival house.
Remus and Sirius had been lazing around all week, occasionally playing exploding snap or looking through Peter’s collection of chocolate frog cards. It was nice, having the dorms to themselves. Except for the past few days, Sirius had barely been in the dorm.
Remus wasn’t sure why, but Sirius had been avoiding him like the plague since Sunday. By the time Remus woke up, Sirius was always gone, and he didn’t return to the dorm until late at night, when he’d close his curtains around his bed without saying a word to Remus.
The werewolf found himself over analyzing everything he’d said before Sirius suddenly distanced himself, but he couldn’t think of anything that would’ve provoked his friend.
He’d finally thought he was making progress, that maybe his crush on Sirius wasn’t as world-ending as he initially believed, but it was clear to him that wasn’t true.
Remus tugs the Marauders Map out of his pocket, feeling a sudden rush of frustration with Sirius. He searches the map, eventually finding a little tag that reads ‘Sirius Black’ in a bathroom on the fourth floor.
Remus sets off. He doesn’t know what he wanted to accomplish in finding Sirius, but he’s tired of wasting his break alone.
The werewolf smells Sirius before he enters the bathroom. His senses were always heightened near the full moon, which was only a few days away. Remus walks into the bathroom quietly, surprised to see that Sirius isn’t in a stall. He’s standing in front of the mirror, his shoulders slumped in an entirely ‘un-noble’ fashion- his parents would’ve been seething.
Sirius doesn’t notice as Remus enters the room, he’s preoccupied as his breath catches delicately. He snaps forwards, pressing a handkerchief to his face and sneezing wetly.
‘hh’rRSCHHh! heh-eETXCHhew!’
Remus stays frozen to the spot as he watches Sirius sniffle pathetically into the handkerchief.
“Bless you” He says after a moment.
Sirius whips around, straightening his posture and tucking the handkerchief in his pocket.
“Wha-,” Sirius relaxes a little when he realizes who it is, “Jesus Moony, you gave me a heart attack”
Remus grins a little, holding back from retorting ‘you deserved it’. He isn’t in the mood to bicker, not with Sirius, anyways.
“So, what’re you doing camped out in a bathroom?” He asks, raising an eyebrow at Sirius. The longer he looks at the black haired boy, the more his worry grows. Sirius is paler than usual, his typical cocky posture abandoned in a slump, his eyes glassy, and his nose looking pink and sore.
Sirius shrugs, “What? I’m not allowed to piss now?” He jokes with a grin. He’d always been quick at making excuses. If Remus didn’t know him so well, he might’ve believed Sirius.
“Right. So you haven’t been avoiding me because you're sick?” Remus replies bluntly. It didn’t take a genius to realize the black haired boy was ill, and Remus wasn’t one to beat around the bush. Sirius looks back guiltily, but his response is firm.
“I’m not sick.”
Remus rolls his eyes, but he doesn’t argue. He knows how stubborn Sirius can be about ‘showing weakness’, which was stupid in Remus’s opinion. Everyone gets sick, it’s just a part of life.
“Fine,” he says simply, not looking away from Sirius.
“Fine,” Sirius repeats, crossing his arms and returning Remus’s stare. Neither breaks eye contact, refusing to be the first to look away and accept defeat. Remus is about to give in when Sirius suddenly twists away from him, burying his face in his elbow.
‘hH’NGXxCHT! n’ZSXCH-schh!’
Sirius struggles to stifle the double, which comes in quick succession. He straightens up, his face a little flushed with embarrassment.
“Bless you,” Remus offers. He holds his tongue yet again. He wants to yell at the other boy, to tell him he’s obviously sick. Most of all, Remus wants to take care of him. Sure, Sirius is 19 and more than capable of riding out a cold alone, but the werewolf can't help but feel protective.
“Thangks,” Sirius cringes at the congestion in his voice, pressing the handkerchief to the base of his nose, but refusing to blow it in front of Remus.
Remus shifts his weight to one leg, wincing exaggeratedly. It does exactly as he’d hoped: Sirius’s expression crumples worriedly, “Is your hip bothering you?”
Remus shrugs, leaning against the bathroom wall, “Not much,” he replies simply. Sirius rolls his eyes at this answer.
“And you say I’m stubborn,” Sirius taunts, a grin tugging at his lips, “C’mon, let’s go back to the dorm so you can sit”
Remus nods, feeling an odd sense of pride that his plan had worked. He knew Sirius would never go back to the dorm due to his own illness, but if Remus was in pain, he wouldn’t hesitate.
“H-hold on,” Sirius pauses as they leave the bathroom. He presses his wrist against the base of his nose, trying to quell the itch. His eyelashes flutter as his breath somes in quiet gasps for a few seconds. He turns away from Remus as he sneezes against his wrist.
‘hh’NGKk!’
Sirius manages to stifle the first sneeze entirely, but it does nothing to stop the itch.
‘heh-hhH’ngk-tSCHEW! hhrRSSCH!’
The third sneeze escapes unstifled, and Sirius flushes red. He sniffles wetly and turns his back towards Remus while he wipes at his nose (and sleeve, which was considerably damper after the triple).
Remus busies himself with looking at his watch, trying his best not to make Sirius any more embarrassed than he already was.
“Bless you” Remus says once Sirius turns back to him, offering the sick boy a little smile. Sirius nods his thanks and starts walking towards the Gryffindor common room.
Sirius’s sniffles become increasingly frequent as they make their way closer to the portrait of the fat lady. Remus can’t help but glance over at Sirius every few seconds.
In fact, the werewolf is so focussed on Sirius that he doesn’t think twice about the sinking step in the North stairwell. Sirius doesn’t remember to skip the step either, his brain is muddled in a sick haze.
Both boys sink into the stairwell when they reach the sinking stair. Sirius yelps and braces himself with Remus’s arm.
Remus feels his hip pop painfully as his leg sinks into the trick step. He ignores the throbbing sensation traveling from his hip to his knee and makes sure Sirius stays upright.
“Shit. Why haven’t they fixed this fucking stairwell yet,” Remus snaps frustratedly.
Sirius grins affectionately, pulling himself upright and then offering Remus his hand.
“You have to admit it’s kind of funny to watch Peter fall” Sirius says playfully as he helps Remus out and then continues up the stairwell. Remus couldn’t deny that it was a little funny. Peter, who had always been the runt of the friend group, failed to remember the trick step every time. James and Sirius always guffawed as their friend sank into the stairs, but they helped him out every time.
“Fair enough,” Remus shrugs. He considers saying more, but one glance at Sirius tells him the other boy isn’t listening. His eyebrows are furrowed, his nose twitching and his hand hovering in front of his face.
‘hh-heh’
Sirius’s breath hitches, but he doesn’t sneeze. Sirius whines and rubs at his nose roughly with the handkerchief.
“God! Can’t I just sneeze already?” He says exasperatedly. A smile tugs at Remus’s lips, and he nudges Sirius’s arm with his own.
“Let’s get back to the dorm,” Remus instructs, his voice soft, but authoritative. Sirius nods, keeping one finger tucked under his nose as they continue walking.
that’s the end of part one! i’m not sure if anyone is interested in the m/arauders, but i’m hyperfixated on them, so ofc i had to write a snzfic
also MINORS DNI !! this is a fic written about adults by an adult.

Alone Together For The Holidays (with Remus Lupin)
[ thinking Remus deserves better while spending your first Christmas Eve together ]
* tiny angst but overall fluff! ❣️🎄
- warnings?: a bit of Molly/Tonks slander so if you love them maybe this isn’t for you whoops
…………………….
It was Christmas Eve and there you sat cuddled up in a blanket with your boyfriend Remus in his cozy, warm house. The fireplace was going and you both held mugs of hot chocolate in hand while occasionally snacking on homemade cookies from a plate on the coffee table.
It sounded like a beautiful scene and it was, but yet there was worry and a bit of guilt brewing in your mind that wasn’t allowing you to see it that way.
“You know, I can’t help but think you should have chosen differently,” you spoke.
Remus furrowed his eyebrows as he stretched over to set his now empty mug down on the table.
“What do you mean? It’s the same brand of hot chocolate you get, does it taste off?” he asked concernedly.
You smiled gently and shook your head, “No, I’m talking about your life choices.”
Remus held the squeeze of his eyebrows and waited for you to continue so he could understand what you were on about.
“I mean, you realize if you had chosen differently you could be with the entire Weasley clan right now instead of spending Christmas here alone in your house.”
Ah, Remus’s face relaxed upon realizing what it was you were insinuating.
The story was that a couple of months ago, Remus realized he fell for you despite you being some years younger. He had then confided in Molly Weasley for advice on what to do which she in turn took as an opportunity to relentlessly suggest he pursue Tonks instead of you (this being since Molly knew Tonks was deeply interested in him, given their mother-daughter relationship). “Well if you’re looking for someone young, why not Nymphadora? Beautiful and such an interesting woman she is” was only one of the many remarks Molly made to him.
Unfortunately for her though, that only pushed Remus to confess his feelings to you quicker; not only because he was sure he didn’t want to be with anyone else but also because he didn’t want anyone else thinking they had any type of chance with him if it wasn’t you.
Upon his confession to you and finding out the feelings were mutual, he then proceeded to tell you about the Molly/Tonks situation and made it clear to you that he had no intention of spending any more time than necessary around the pair.
Of course you told him that wasn’t necessary but he was too repulsed to want to continue a friendship with either of them by the way they had assumed his intentions were about finding someone young and not someone he actually cared for.
So prior to this moment right now, you had never felt insecure in your relationship and it was certainly most in part due to Remus’s honesty from the get go, but sitting with him in an empty house on Christmas Eve had you feeling otherwise. Remus would no doubt have been accepted into the Weasley family just as easily as they had accepted her- and you couldn’t think of anyone who deserved to spend holidays with a big old happy family more than Remus.
Not wanting to let you sit with doubt in mind a minute longer, Remus then began, “Well first of all darling, I’m not here alone. Secondly, I don’t wish I’d chosen differently. And thirdly…” he said, reaching over to pick up a cookie from the plate.
“Open” he whispered, interrupting his train of thought to offer you a bite of it which you took obediently. “Good girl,” he teasingly praised, bringing the rest of the cookie to his own mouth.
You blushed and lightly slapped his chest.
“Thirdly,” he chuckled, continuing from where he left off before, “you know Sirius and Harry would be here with us right now if they weren’t on their trip.”
Sirius and Harry were on a backpacking trip for winter break; it was their first Christmas together as a family, not counting last year’s holiday spent at Grimmauld Place before Sirius’s innocence was proven.
“Yes but don’t forget Harry loves the Weasleys and vice versa so it’s safe to assume that’s where they’d be tonight, given the chance.”
Remus smiled adoringly at you; he then took your mug from your hands and stretched over to set it on the coffee table next to the cookies.
Laying back in his spot, he mumbled “C’mere” to you as he pulled you closely into his side. Instantly you made yourself comfortable against his frame, letting your head rest delicately just below his shoulder.
“Now, between you and me darling, Sirius isn’t that fond of Mrs. Molly Weasley either. With that said, you should know Harry will always choose Sirius above anyone else. If Sirius isn’t at the Weasleys; Harry isn’t at the Weasleys. Harry can always see his friends when he returns to school but you know as well as I do that his time with Sirius is precious. Especially now that it’s still all so brand new.”
After taking in his words, you lifted your head up and kissed his cheek.
“You’re right Remmy, I’m sorry for being such a downer. I just really can’t help but think you deserve better for the holidays though.”
“There is no way I could have better” Remus said, placing a hand on your chin with thumb at your cheek to caress softly back and forth. “I’ve spent many holidays by myself love, trust me when I say that I don’t feel alone- not now, not ever…not when I’m with you.”
Looking at him tenderly for a moment, you then leaned in and kissed his lips and before you could pull completely away, he gifted you another.
Smiling, you cuddled your head back on his shoulder and lovingly said to him,
“I don’t feel alone when I’m with you either.” <3

How It All Began
Chapter Seven: Just the Beginning
Masterpost | First | Previous | Ao3
Story Summary: Remus, son of a simple fisherman, had worked hard to become the captain of his own pirate ship. And in his humble opinion, it was going great! His crew was small but reliable and they had just stolen something that could them some nice cash from a military vessel they happened to cross on the open sea. They just needed to hide it somewhere until it was safe to sell. How lucky for them that they come across a nice, uninhabited island.
Little did Remus know just who he would find on that little piece of land and how it would change his life entirely.
Content Warning: Pining (they have it so bad for each other guys), Bickering
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remus hopped over the side of the rowboat and looked around. On first glance, it didn’t look much different than Logan’s former home, maybe a bit bigger. But it had sandy beaches, a dense jungle, and some cliffs, just like the last one. It was in quite different waters though. Nine months. It had been nine months since Remus had seen Logan. And he wasn’t even a hundred percent sure he was in the right place. (He was pretty sure though, he knew how to read star charts and Corbin did, too. It was just the anxiety talking.)
Figuring out the Spirits riddle and finishing their task only cost them a month, surprisingly. Getting all the way here though had taken them twice as long. The anticipation had nearly killed Remus, he hated waiting and even now his hand twitched towards his chest but the locket that used to calm him in situations like this was no longer there. He missed it, but he didn’t regret giving it up either. Not when it led him here.
Remus looked back at his ship where the rest of his crew could enjoy a well-deserved day off. Patton had wanted to accompany him, but Remus felt it best to meet with Logan alone first. Why he didn’t really know, he just wanted to have the immortal to himself a bit. A voice in his head that sounded suspiciously like his brother told him that maybe he had a crush. He ignored it. Right then wasn’t really a good time to think about that.
Point was, Remus had come to the island alone. He pulled the rowboat onto the beach and tied it securely to a nearby palm tree. Afterwards he made his way towards the jungle, his trusty machete in hand. He didn’t intend on using it much. After all, he was sure Logan wouldn’t want him to disturb the environment more than strictly necessary. So that’s what he would do.
Remus wandered around the island for a good two hours. He had come across a stream around forty minutes in and followed it for a while, hoping that it would lead him to Logan’s camp, but no such luck. It ended up disappearing into a cliffside, so he decided to continue in another direction. He kept an eye on his compass to not get completely lost, of course, but maybe he should reconsider his strategy of just aimless wandering and hoping to come across any trace of Logan.
Maybe he should try calling for him.
He should have done that from the beginning. Why did he only think of that now???
Because he hadn’t wanted to disturb the environment, including the animals. Right. Still, he was running out of options otherwise, so it was worth a shot.
“Logan! Are you there?!”
A rustle.
A curse.
And then something came crashing down to the ground. Remus reacted before he could think. He blinked and suddenly he held Logan in his arms.
The scientist stared up at him, eyes wide behind his glasses that sat crookedly on his face. There was a small scratch on his left cheek, his sleeve on that side was torn and he had leaves stuck in his hair.
Both were too stunned to move for several moments.
“Hi, Lo,” Remus breathed eventually. The man in his arms started to blush profusely.
“Remus! Let me down please!”
“Oh, right, sorry, my bad.” Carefully, he set Logan back on his feet, only letting go once he was sure he was stable. “What happened?”
“I was observing a bird nest up in the tree. The eggs are close to hatching and the parents have grown used to me enough to let me watch from a few feet away,” Logan explained as he righted his clothing and glasses. Remus helped him by plucking out the leaves stuck in his hair. “I was on my way down when you suddenly called my name. I startled and lost my grip.” The pirate looked up.
“Oh, damn, that fall could’ve killed you! Though I can’t help but be curious to see how far your blood would have splattered.” He winced internally. Not something he should have said out loud. At least not in front of Logan, who he just almost killed. Again.
“Certainly would have been an interesting observation. If such a thing were to end up happening, please share the results with me.” Remus blinked. Right. He had forgotten how nonchalant Logan could be about the possibility of his own death. What immortality does to a guy, he guessed. And damn if it wasn’t attractive.
“Yeah, sure.” It was all he could think to reply as he felt his cheeks starting to get warm.
“Anyway, I am thankful for you saving me. It would have been inconvenient to have wait to talk to you because of my untimely demise.”
“Sure thing, think nothing of it.” The smile on Logan’s face was entirely unfair. How was Remus supposed to deny he’s crushing on him when he smiles like that???
“Congratulations on making it here. I hope you didn’t have to deal with too much hardship?”
“No, no, it was super easy! Just had to convince your siren friend that I didn’t want to exploit his government, solve one riddle, break into a library to steal a forbidden book, sail through Siren territory and give up the only heirloom of my family.” He said the whole thing in one breath staring at Logan’s impossibly beautiful eyes. “Piece of cake,” he added weakly. The other man raised his eyebrow in doubt.
“Please do not disregard your achievements like that.”
“No, really, it wasn’t that impressive! And I had my crew to help and everything. They did most of the research and stuff.”
“And you were the one to lead them to get here, Remus. Don’t forget that.”
Remus could feel how red his face was turning, so he looked away.
“Right. Anyway, how have you been doing? Gotten used to your new home yet?” Logan watched him skeptically for another moment before accepting the change of topic.
“Yes, for the most part. I have not quite familiarized myself with the island, but I have found a lot of specimens to study, both plant and animal alike. If you want, I can show you my notes.”
“Yeah, sure, I’d love that.” He could listen to Logan talk for hours, his mind supplied, and Remus realized that maybe he was falling harder than he had thought. He could have a crisis about that back on the ship, though. Right then he wanted to focus on Logan.
“I would also appreciate to hear about your journey in more detail, if you don’t mind.”
“No problem, I can do that.”
“Wonderful. Then, please, follow me.” Logan wore that smile again as he started to lead him away. Damn, Remus was so, so gay.
~~~
Once they got the conversation flowing, it was easier for Remus to ignore his racing heartbeat. He and Logan fell into an easy rhythm of talking about the former’s travels and the latter’s research. So much so that they both forgot the time as they sat on Logan’s mossy bed, drinking tea like the first second time they met.
They both only realized how late it had gotten when another voice rang through the trees.
“Captain! Where are you! Remus! Answer me, please!”
“Aw, shit, Patton,” Remus flinched, looking up to see the stars sparkling through the canopy. “He must be worried sick.”
“It sounds like it, indeed,” Logan agreed, looking guilty. He quickly grabbed an oil lamp from next to the bed and lit it in the still burning fire pit. “Let’s go. We should be able to spot him in the dark.”
“Right.” Remus listened a moment to see where the yelling was coming from, before moving in that direction and calling back, “I’m here, Pat! I’m fine!”
“Oh, thank the Spirits!” Patton’s sigh of relief was still audible, so he couldn’t be far. Remus grabbed Logan’s hand and pulled him along. Not even a minute later, he spotted the soft glow of another lantern. Patton came into view shortly after. His look of relief as he spotted his captain quickly turned into a frown. Remus still managed to speak first.
“So sorry, Pat. I didn’t even realize how late it was!”
“Do you have any idea how worried I was?! That’s why I didn’t want you to go off alone! I know you do this more often than not but usually you go for exploring’s sake, not to find someone! You get reckless when it involves other people! What if you got hurt and Logan hadn’t been here!”
“Oh, come on. I’ve always got myself out of my messes so far.”
“That’s exactly it, ‘so far!’ What if this was the one time you hadn’t! You’re more than my captain, you’re my friend, Remus!”
“Yeah, I know, I’m sorry for worrying you, Pat.”
“I apologize for keeping him as well, Patton. I should have paid more attention,” Logan added, standing behind Remus. Patton seemed to only then fully register that he was there and immediately pulled him into a hug.
“I’m just glad to see you’re safe, we were both very worried about you when you suddenly weren’t on the island anymore!”
“I am immortal, there is no reason to worry about me.”
“Nonsense! You, too, are my friend! You can’t stop me from worrying!”
“I see. Then, thank you for your concern, Patton. I am truly alright.”
“Good,” he huffed, finally calming down. “So, what’s the plan now?”
“Oh, right. I kinda forgot to ask about that,” Remus laughed sheepishly.
“What? You’ve been out here for hours! What have you two been talking about then?”
“Everything else?”
Patton sighed.
“I should have expected as much. Logan? Would you mind filling us in?”
“Oh, uhm. I actually don’t know much about that either.”
“Huh?”
“Well, I was told to contact my patron once you made it here, so I will go do that and then inform you of the results of that discussion tomorrow.”
“Isn’t it too late for that now? You should sleep.” Remus suppressed a snort. Leave it to Patton to try and parent an over 140-year-old immortal.
“I appreciate your concern, Patton, but I assure you that I do not require as much rest as you do. My patron will also not care which time of day I contact her.”
“Well, if you’re sure,” Patton relented, though reluctantly.
“I am. Please return to your ship, I am sure your other crewmates are also worried.”
“Right! Remy wanted to come along but I told him no because I was worried about him meeting Logan.”
“Definitely the right call, Pat.” Remus ruffled his friend’s hair before turning to Logan. “We’ll see you tomorrow then.”
“Yes. See you then.” With one last wave they parted and Remus pulled out his compass.
“Let’s go, I do not want to be lectured by anyone else.”
“If you didn’t want to be scolded then pay more attention to your surroundings.”
“I already apologized, Pat!”
~~~
Logan continued to listen to the two of them fondly bicker with each other until their voices faded into the night. It wasn’t until that moment that he realized just how worried he’d been for them. Knowing they made it here… It was like he could breathe more deeply again. He shouldn’t waste more time.
It didn’t take Logan long to return to his camp and locating the artifact similarly was easy to do. With the softly glowing sphere in hand, he made his way to his usual meeting spot with Janus, a small bay on the other side of the island from where Remus’ ship was anchored. Logan had been given the artifact by Lady Ala and told to throw it in the ocean once ‘his chosen’ had arrived. The title made him flush for some reason. It felt… like a very intimate way to refer to Remus, though he suspected that his patron hadn’t intended for it to be interpreted like that.
He didn’t rush his walk, enjoying the cooler night air. Of course, he could do so every evening if he wished but with the knowledge that Remus was close by and safe? Made it more enjoyable somehow.
After around fifteen minutes he arrived at his destination and without much hesitation he threw the sphere as far as he could into the water. From the shore he could see it float on the surface for a short moment, its glow making it easily enough to spot before it began to sink down. The glow didn’t fade however. Logan stood there and watched for a few minutes until he decided to sit down in the sand to wait. Whoever he called would probably take some time to arrive.
Logan ended up spacing out, so when the sea finally started to ripple, announcing the arrival of someone, he didn’t know how much time had passed. Not that he cared much. He stood, wiping the sand off of his pants and watched as Janus emerged from the gently waves of the night.
“Thank you for coming,” he greeted the siren once he had taken his usual place sitting on a nearby stone that sat just underneath the water’s surface. Logan was very certain that all these rocks Janus used as chairs weren’t natural. There was no way every single island he had lived on so far had one of them so conveniently located just off the shore of a small beach area, not to mention how smooth they all were. Though, as a being with the Elemental Spirit’s blessing, he could easily understand where they came from.
“Logan. So good to see you,” Janus hummed with a too sharp smile. “How are you feeling?”
“I am adequate. And yourself?”
“Just peachy. I love being woken up in the middle of a good sleep.”
“I apologize, but I was told to use the artifact when Remus got here, no matter the time of day.”
“Indeed. And yet they arrived here quite a while ago. So, what took so long?”
Logan furrowed his brows.
“You were aware of their arrival?”
“Of course! We were aware of their position at all times. As we are of all who attempt the Council’s challenges.” Janus inspected his nails as he spoke, displaying his complete disinterest in the topic. But Logan couldn’t help but think back to his time on that ship. If they had watched them the entire time, then they had known he was...?
No, he shouldn’t assume.
Just because they were watching the ship travel, doesn’t mean that they knew what was going on on board. And even if they had known, why would they have interfered? His fate had nothing to do with them at that point.
His suffering meant nothing to them at that point.
He took a deep breath. No point in digging up painful memories. He should focus on the situation at hand.
“Regardless,” Logan continued. “How do things proceed from here?”
Janus smiled again, exposing his teeth as he pulled the sphere Logan had used to call him here into view.
“We will contact Lady Ala and she will explain further.”
“At another time then?”
“No, right now.”
“That is possible?” Logan asked, genuinely surprised. Every other time he had spoken to his patron, it was at a previously set time and place. He was not aware that spontaneous contact was an option.
“It is,” Janus confirmed. “It is not commonly used and still requires some preparations, however, in this circumstance, you have already done most of that. By joining this artifact with the sea again, not only I but Lady Ala as well has been notified. And since we were already aware of the pirate ship’s arrival here, we were expecting your call. She will not be physically present, but we will be able to speak with her.”
“I see.” Logan watched as Janus held out the sphere in front of himself and his eyes started glowing. A pillar of water slowly rose from the ocean to meet the artifact and, assumingly, create the connection to Lady Ala. It was fascinating to observe and Logan would have liked to ask questions about the process, but Janus has always refused to tell him anything about the intricacies of magic. Whether that was because he wasn’t allowed to or simply didn’t want to bother, Logan didn’t know.
“My Lady,” Janus said eventually. For a moment Logan thought that maybe he wouldn’t be able to hear his patron’s side of the conversation and Janus would have to act as a messenger, but that worry was quickly proven wrong as Lady Ala’s voice rang through the air.
“Janus. Logan. I hope you are well.”
“Yes, my Lady.”
“I am fine, your Grace.”
“Wonderful. Then let us not prolong this discussion. Your chosen has returned, Logan?”
“Yes, earlier today.”
“I am glad. He indeed shows promise. What he offered to the fountain was most satisfactory.”
“I am relieved to hear you praise him.” Logan resisted the urge to bow. His patron didn’t like the gesture and presumably couldn’t even see him at the moment. It was one of many behaviors from court he still couldn’t quite shake.
“Does he intent to continue with the trials?”
“Yes. He is still determined to complete them.”
“Very well. Then we will prepare another for him, but it will take some time. From here on, the tasks will not only carry dangers with them, but also lead to him and his to make enemies amongst your kind. He needs to be prepared to live with such consequences.”
“I will tell him, but I am sure he will accept regardless.”
“As am I. Logan, do you wish to aid him on his quest?”
Logan had avoided his eyes from the artifact so far – not on purpose, just another habit – but that question made him look its way immediately.
“If I am allowed to, yes.”
“There will be limits to your involvement and you are not allowed to neglect your research, but we will allow you to assist him for some of his tasks.”
“Thank you very much, your Grace.”
“You are very welcome, my dear Logan. I will send Janus to deliver the next task to your chosen soon.”
“We will wait patiently.”
“Good. Then I wish you a pleasant night. Oh, and Janus?” Logan had forgotten the siren was a part of the conversation, though he seemed to need a lot of focus to keep the connection stable. Still, he responded instantly.
“Yes, my Lady?”
“Give him the item. Something so precious should be returned to its owner.”
“I understand, my Lady.”
“Thank you. Please give Virgil my regards.”
“He will be happy to receive them.” With that, the water pillar beneath the artifact fell away and the glow in Janus’ eyes receded. Logan took a deep breath. He hadn’t noticed in the moment, but there had been a pressure in the air that had made him tense. Possibly a side effect of the magic.
“Well then,” Janus spoke up, pulling Logan out of his thoughts, “it seems that everything is working out for you, isn’t it, Logan?”
“What are you implying, Janus?”
“Nothing. I am just stating facts. You found yourself quite the man.”
Logan’s face burned.
“What— what are you saying?! Remus is not— He is not my anything!” Janus laughed loudly at his embarrassment.
“You do have a cute side after all! How fun. Makes me almost look forward to having to put up with this whole thing,” he joked before pulling something out of the ocean. Something familiar. He tossed it over to Logan, who just managed to catch it. It was a chain with a very familiar locket.
“Give it back to the pirate. He must have missed it terribly.” Without waiting for a response, Janus dove into the waves and disappeared.
Logan stared at the metal in his hand before he smiled.
Remus was going to be so happy.
~~~
“I see. So we got to wait a bit.” Remus had come see Logan early the next morning, sneaking off the ship before Patton could catch him. From what he had told Logan, Patton had continued to scold him on their way back and made Remus apologize to their entire crew. Which he would have done anyway, just not in that manner. So, as a little revenge, Remus had gone off to see Logan alone again.
“Yes. It shouldn’t take all that long, however, I think. A week at most if I were to guess,” the immoral explained, digging his toes in the sand. He and Remus sat on the beach, though at the border of the jungle. They had moved here after Remus had found him at his camp since the pirate guessed that Patton might end up chasing him down and neither wanted him to wander around the island again. No need to stress the man further.
“That should be fine. There’s a decent port about a day away if we need to restock, so, if necessary, we can leave and be back here relatively quickly.”
“There are quite a lot of edible plants and fruits here as well if you need supplies urgently.”
“Yeah, we’ll manage to sustain ourselves, I’m sure.” They were both quiet for a moment, simply enjoying each other’s company. “Do you have any clue what we’ll need to do? Or how long it’ll take?” Remus asked eventually. Logan shrugged.
“I cannot say anything with certainty. My patron simply warned me that it will involve further danger and that you might make some human enemies.”
“Well, that’s no big deal. Already have a few of those,” Remus chuckled as he laid down on the sand. “The pirate’s life, you know.”
“I can imagine, yes.”
“What about you though?”
“What about me?”
Remus looked up at him.
“Will you be involved in what happens next with this whole quest thing?”
“As far as I know, yes. I was asked if I wanted to help you and I said yes. I will need to continue my research and I won’t be allowed to aid with everything, but I will be able to help you with some things.”
“I’m glad to hear it.” Remus smiled so brightly after his explanation and Logan could feel his cheeks heating up, so he quickly looked away. He shifted nervously and that’s when he felt something move in his pocket.
Oh, right. He almost forgot.
“I have something for you, actually.”
“Oh?” Remus pushed himself up slightly in interest, watching Logan intently as he pulled the chain out. Once the locket attached to it entered his field of vision, his eyes went wide.
“My patron told me to give it back to you,” Logan explained as the pirate quickly sat upright again and slowly reached for the pendant. “She said it was too precious to be separated from its owner.”
“I didn’t think I’d see it again,” Remus whispered, carefully stroking along the locket’s edges.
“I assume that was part of the point. But the Spirits are not cruel if you show you respect them properly.”
“Yeah, I guess that makes sense.” Logan watched as Remus carefully yet tightly held onto the locket. Its significance to the other must be more than he had previously understood.
“I’m glad it was returned to you.”
“Me too.” Again, there was quiet between them, before Remus suddenly sat up uncharacteristically straight. “But you know what? I think you should keep it.”
“Huh?” Logan blinked, stunned at the sudden proposal. “Why?”
“Because—” Remus paused, seemingly struggling to find the right words. “Because you can keep it safe here. When I gave it up, I knew what I was doing. It’s important to me, but I really wanted to show my sincerity so nothing else could have taken its place. But now that I’ve got it back… I’m worried I might lose it again if I take it with me. If you have it, then I can sleep soundly knowing you’ll take good care of it. And it gives me another reason to come back and visit you.”
By the end of Remus’ speech, both of their cheeks were tinted red. The pirate had grasped Logan’s hands in his own, the locket held between them. His eyes showed how sincere he was.
“Okay,” Logan agreed weakly, a bit overwhelmed by the sudden show of trust. “I’ll keep it safe,” he added, stronger.
“Great. Thank you, Logan.” Remus’ smile and the tone of voice he used when he said his name were entirely unfair, Logan decided as he took the chain from the pirate’s hands and put it around his neck. The locket sat as a comfortable weight on his chest. Not too heavy but noticeable. Logan could see how it could have a calming effect on Remus. Speaking of, the pirate pushed himself on his feet.
“I should get back. Even if Patton’s not awake yet, someone else surely is and I do owe them an explanation finally.”
“Yes, I understand. I have research to get back to as well,” Logan said as he stood up as well.
“Next time I come over, it’ll probably be with a bunch of curious idiots, so be prepared.” Remus’ grin was infectious and Logan couldn’t help but smile himself.
“I will keep it in mind.”
“Good. See you then, Lo Lo.” Logan was not prepared to be pulled into a hug by the pirate and before he could react, the other had let go and stepped away. He waved after Remus, hoping that the shade hid the new redness on his cheeks.
~~~
“Alright, everyone, listen up!” Remus called loudly across the deck. He stood on a wooden crate with his crew assembled in front of him.  The conversations they had between each other quickly died and they focused their attention on him. “You all know I enjoy keeping you all a bit in the dark about my plans and such, and you have been very patient with me, but it is finally time for me to tell you what exactly we’re doing here!” He received some skeptic looks but nobody spoke up to interrupt him. Patton stood off a bit to the side, watching their reactions.
“A few months back, when we stopped at that island to hide the admiral’s seal, I happened to stumble into a guy. He appeared to just live there and long story short, I shot him. Which led to him falling off a cliff and dying, but!” Remus paused for dramatic effect, very much enjoying being the center of attention. “The next day I went back, he was back! Yes, as hard as it is to believe, that random guy was an Immortal!”
“You’ve gotta be shitting me,” he heard Remy murmur, too quiet to be an intended interruption, so Remus continued his tale.
“I got him to talk with me for a bit and he told me a bunch of stuff about Sirens, the Elemental Spirits, and their Council. And that’s when I had the most brilliant idea! I asked him if it were possible for me to meet the Council! He, of course, couldn’t decide that on his own, so I hid the seal with his help and we all set off to different adventures, as you all surely remember. The plan was to ask about the meeting once we got back. When we did, he wasn’t there anymore. Instead, I talked to a siren!” That time he could hear Elliot gasp. After they read that Woodworth book, they became quite the fan.
“It was that siren that gave me the note which eventually led us here! And right now, on that island—” He pointed toward the shore. “—lives the Immortal now. His name is Logan and he’s a researcher. The details he can give you yourself, you’ll have plenty of time to ask him questions because we’ll be here a bit.” For the last bit, Remus turned down the dramatics. He didn’t want to make Logan out as some unapproachable cryptic.
“And why is that, Captain?” Missy asked, leaning against Toby’s side. She seemed more amused than intrigued by the whole story, though Remus supposed, she was never one to get excited about the Elemental Spirits and similar legends. She was more a more down-to-earth kinda person.
“Great question, Missy!” he grinned at her. “The reason is that we’ll be given a new task from the Council to fulfill to prove our worth. And it won’t be the last either.” Remus sat down on the crate, getting more serious as he continued. “What we have here is an incredible opportunity. This is a once in a lifetime chance kinda deal. But this is something I asked for because it is something that I want. And I won’t give up on it. But it is a dangerous affair. It will make enemies for us. And if we upset the Council, it could have dire consequences. So, if any of you don’t wanna do this, I understand. I’ll bring you wherever you want. But you can’t talk me out of it.”
There was a moment of quiet as everyone considered his words carefully. It wasn’t often that he got so serious, so they knew they had to take it seriously as well.
“I’m staying,” Remy spoke up first. “This is probably the stupidest thing we’ve done so far, and I honestly don’t really want to meet those Council guys, but I don’t mind helping you get there. Sounds like it’ll be interesting at least.” Next to him Emile smiled and nodded along.
“I wanna come along to meet them!” Sloane announced with a bright grin.
“I should know better, but same,” Corbin agreed and immediately got tackled into a hug by his boyfriend. Toby shrugged, mumbling something along the lines of ‘it’s something to do’ and Missy seemed to agree with him. Patton had already been on board, which left…
“What about you, Elliot? You stupid enough to come?” Elliot flinched as they were directly addressed, staring at Remus for a moment before shaking themselves out of it.
“I want to go. I want to learn more about the world,” they said with certainty. Remus grinned.
“Great! Then let’s party! An adventure awaits us!”
Everyone cheered loudly and Remus couldn’t be happier. This promised to be so much fun!
Bête Noire Sneak Peek
This sneak peek is unedited.
Chapter Two: The Bête Noire and the Whomping Willow
Sirius found himself spending the previous night on top of the Astronomy Tower. He had spent the entire evening looking at the stars in the sky, realizing that he hated stars and constellations and the whole lot of it. When the sun came up, Sirius didn’t move. He had no interest in eating or even seeing anyone. In fact, he would be okay if he slowly wasted away, disintegrating into the very stars he despised.
A wad of fabric hit him in his face, causing him to move for the first time in, well, hours. He whipped around to see James standing there, his hands shoved in his trouser pockets and a grim look plastered across his face. A scarf, hat, and a heavier wool coat were draped over his arm. He tossed those too at Sirius, without a word.
Sirius winced, feeling the chill on his skin. He had caved and performed a Warming Charm on his clothes late into the evening, unable to take the chilly November air any longer. He didn’t think he deserved it, but he had been tired and weak and so bloody cold. Glancing down into his lap, he saw James’ Invisibility Cloak was in the mess of clothes
“The Blacks won’t let Dad sign you out of school,” James explained. “He wants to speak with you, grab lunch together. He’s securing a private room at the Three Broomsticks and wants you to sneak out and meet us.”
“I don’t want to talk right now,” Sirius replied in a hoarse voice, his fingers brushing along the silky fabric.
“Too bad,” James replied. “You are.”
Sirius looked up at James, a small scoff escaping his lips as he tossed the cloak back at James. “I really don’t.”
“Dad knows everything,” James continued, ignoring the cloak at his feet. “He’s known for a while that something has been wrong. I told him how you’ve been skiving off class and how you’ve been trying really hard to lose every single one of your friends by Christmas. I told him what happened last night. Dumbledore asked him to come to the school to represent you in a meeting with Remus’ dad and Snape’s mum. He said he wasn’t leaving until he got an opportunity to talk with you.”
Sirius sniffed, his nose running something awful from being out in the cold all night.
“Did you see Remus?”
“Not really. I saw him briefly after Madam Pomfrey retrieved him from the shack, but didn’t get to talk to him. He looked… pretty ragged and out of it. His dad wouldn’t let me in to talk to him in the hospital wing,” James replied. “He was going to tell him what happened. Said I should… uh, leave his son alone. Which, he’s a damn fool if he thinks I’m doing that. I’ll stop by after he leaves. Explain everything.”
“There’s nothing to explain, James,” Sirius responded, pushing himself off the cold stone to stand.
James sucked in a breath. “Yeah, maybe not. I don’t know. But, uh, I’m going to go see him and let him know from me what happened. I think it would be good if you and Pete came too.”
Greedy [Poly Marauders]
A/N: Thank you so much for your request! You’re just fueling my addiction with writing poly Marauders fics… and I love it!!
Pairings: Poly! Marauders x Fem!reader
Words: 2.9k
Warnings: Fluff, polyamorous relationship, breakup, mentions of not eating, crying, reader being sad, mean girls. Lmk if I missed anything.
“Honestly you’re just being greedy!”
“They don’t even really like you; you were just the easiest.”
“You’re not even pretty enough for one of them, what makes you think you could have all three?”
“It’s only a matter of time before they get bored of you and trade you in for someone better and more deserving of their love.”
The words swarmed around your brain, a thick fog settling before your eyes as tears streamed down your face making everything blurry and wet. Your feet were clumsily transporting your body back to your dorm, trying your best to keep your head down avoiding the stares your fellow students were giving you.
You were trying to forget and ignore what those girls had said, but it kept playing on repeat in your mind. You knew that your three boys loved you, but the girl’s words filled your head with doubt. You knew that your boyfriends were too good for you, you didn’t deserve them, they would be better off without you or with somebody else. The thoughts were killing you; more tears escaped your eyes at the thought of them with somebody else tearing you apart, but it was necessary for their happiness. You could never make them happy; you could never be enough for them.
You ascended the stairs towards the girls’ dormitories but decided against it opting towards going to your boy’s dorm, wanting to feel the comfort of their room one last time.
You opened the wooden door but met by silence from the other side. The boys still had an hour of class left, leaving you to sit in sadness alone for a while longer before you would be breaking your own heart.
Walking across the room you stood in front of the mirror taking in your reflection, red puffy eyes, tear-stained cheeks. Looking at yourself you understood what the girls saw, you had no idea how Remus, Sirius, and James had stayed with you as long as they had, but it was time you finally put them out of their misery even though it was killing you. Thinking about what would happen in less than an hour the tears pooled in your eyes once more, but you quickly grabbed a tissue from the box on Remus’ desk beside the mirror and wiped your eyes and the falling tears. You made your way into the connected bathroom, wanting to at least look somewhat presentable before the boys returned. You washed your face with cold water, the cool water washing away any redness, but not concealing the sadness that still lingered in your eyes.
The book in front of you could not hold your attention, your focus solely on the door of the dorm, just waiting. James’ soft blanket comforting you slightly but never distracting enough.
The door burst open and the loud chatter between the boys filled the quiet room. Their laughs warmed your heart, momentarily causing you to forget what was going to happen.
“Bunny, you’re here!” Remus just about shouted, running to you and getting on top of you kissing you all over your face.
You couldn’t help the giggle that left your lips, but sadness bubbled up within you at the fact that you would never experience this again.
You softly pushed Remus off of you making him sit on his calves looking at you in a very confused manner.
“I need to talk with all of you,” you said trying to keep your voice steady, hoping they couldn’t tell how much you had been crying.
Sirius and James made their way to the bed as well, sitting beside Remus.
“That sounds so serious… you aren’t breaking up with us are you, pup?” Sirius joked, but your eyes widened, and you opened your mouth to reply, but no sound came out.
“Wait?! Are you?” James asked worriedly, noticing your face and lack of words.
You were fiddling with your hands, not looking in their eyes.
“Uhm… well… the thing is…. Uhm… y-yes.”
Tears filled your eyes when you finally muttered the words, not believing this was real, but you knew it needed to be done.
“What?! No! I was just kidding, you can’t break up with us, why would you say that?!” Sirius exclaimed, not believing his own ears. Tears gathered in all of their eyes, unbeknownst to you, since you still refused to meet their eyes.
“Bunny… you don’t mean that,” Remus tried, his voice breaking slightly at the effort of trying to contain his tears.
“I-I do, I’m s-sorry, I can’t be with you anymore,” you stammered, tears now leaking down your face once more. Your hands were shaking, and your limbs felt heavy, your heart shattering into a million pieces. You quickly got off of the bed facing the door wanting nothing more than to leave, not wanting to look at their faces because you knew if you did you would break even more.
They all stood from the bed as well walking towards you. James reached for your arm, but Sirius stopped him.
“Please, y/n, don’t do this… we love you; don’t you love us?” James tried, not trying to conceal his tears any longer, letting them fall freely down his cheeks.
“It’s f-for the b-best.”
“Y/n, don’t you love us anymore?” Sirius repeated James’ question since you chose to not answer, not wanting to lie.
A long silence ensued, you didn’t want to lie, but you knew that it was what you had to do for them to hate you.
“… n-no,” you whispered.
All of their hearts collectively shattered. Both Remus and James were freely crying, but Sirius was fuming, angry tears rolling down his cheeks.
“Fine! Then leave!” Sirius shouted causing you to jump slightly. Sirius felt his heartbreak and he felt guilty for scaring you, but he was just so angry and sad, he didn’t know how to handle it.
You quickly walked towards the door opening it, but before you left you turned around letting yourself cave and get one last look. Your breath caught in your throat when you took in their tear-covered faces, your already shattered heart turned to dust.
Whispering an almost inaudible ‘I’m sorry, you slid out the door, leaving the boys heartbroken and most of all confused as to when you suddenly stopped loving them.
You raced towards your own dorm, opening and slamming the door shut as soon as you had made it inside. As soon as the door was completely shut your legs failed you and you crumbled on the floor, loud sobs leaving your quivering lips. You had never felt pain like this before, it felt like someone had cut your heart out and ripped it apart in front of you, leaving you a bleeding broken mess.
Lily, who was laying in her bed, was startled by your sudden entrance but was quickly by your side as soon as you collapsed.
“Y/n/n, what’s wrong? What did they do?” she asked, clearly expecting the boys to be behind this, but also not quite believing they could hurt you to this point.
“I-I b-brok-e up w-w-with them!” you sobbed out, hiccups making it much harder to formulate a decent-sounding sentence.
“You did what?! Why? Just yesterday you were madly in love… what happened?” Lily’s confusion shone clearly through her tone, not understanding why you would do such a thing.
“P-please, I j-just want to sl-sleep,” there was nothing you wanted more than to lay in your bed and just disappear.
Lily just nodded and helped you towards your bed, helping you remove your shoes and grabbing your sleepshirt, which happened to be one of the boys’ shirts.
“Do you want to sleep in this?” Lily asked carefully.
You instantly nodded and grabbed the shirt from her grasp, wanting nothing more than to be comforted by your boys, but since that wasn’t an option, you opted for this.
Slipping into the warmth of your blanket the tears never ceased, but your eyes still fell shut, wanting to sleep the pain away.
“Do you want me to grab dinner for you later?” Lily asked softly, but already knowing the answer.
“No thanks… can you close the curtains around my bed?”
Lily sighed but did as you asked, knowing you just needed time.
In their dorm, Remus and James were pacing around the room whilst Sirius sat on Remus’ bed, trying to calm himself before dinner.
“I don’t understand, we were all fine yesterday,” James muttered loudly enough for the two others to hear him as well.
“What is it you don’t understand, Prongs? She loved us and now she doesn’t, ‘s as simple as that,” Sirius stated, his tone laced with bitterness, choosing to be angry instead of letting the sadness consume him.
Remus stopped his pacing and looked at Sirius’ seated form, “you don’t really believe that do you, Pads? … Prongs is right, we were all fine yesterday.”
Sirius just let out a ‘humph’ and crossed his arms, rising from the bed.
“Whatever, let’s just go to dinner… she’ll probably be there celebrating her freedom from us.”
This time James stopped to look at Sirius, “you know she would never do that and besides something doesn’t seem right… it’s too out of the blue.”
Remus nodded and let out an agreeing hum and they both followed Sirius towards the door.
Days passed; you hadn’t left your bed unless you had to use the bathroom. You were drowning in tears the pain in your heart not subsiding.
The teachers were informed that you were “sick” and that you needed some time to recover from your sudden illness.
The only time you had gotten any form of nutarians was when Lily basically forced you to consume something, anything. She was growing more worried each passing day, having talked to the boys and keeping them updated on your situation, since they all were worried as well and asked her to keep an eye on you for them since they hadn’t seen you since the day of the breakup.
The news of your breakup spread like wildfire; people not used to see the three boys without even a trace of you.
Remus was the first to experience a couple of the girls flirting very aggressively with him, but he brushed it off, knowing they could never replace you; it was you or nothing. Sirius was the next, he was less nice and told the girls to leave him alone. Lastly was James, he almost cried, wishing he could get you back, so he could be free from any other girls.
The girls were growing agitated by the lack of attention they were getting from the three Marauders, clearly not understanding why they were so upset by losing you.
It had been more than a week; Lily was studying in the library when she heard your name spoken behind one of the bookshelves. She stood from her seat, moving closer to listen to the girls on the other side.
“Ugh, it’s so frustrating! Sirius totally dismissed me the other day,” one of the girls complained.
“I know! I don’t understand, it’s been a week, they should be over her by now.”
“Don’t worry, they’ll soon realize that she wasn’t even that great and then they’ll be all over us,” the last girl said with a proud smirk.
The wheels in Lily’s head turned as she absorbed the conversation and as the last cog clicked into place realization struck – her legs couldn’t have moved faster out of the library if she tried, but she was on a mission to find the three heartbroken Marauders.
“REMUS!” Lily was sprinting towards the black lake where the three boys had been residing most of the week.
“Woah, Lily, calm down, love,” Remus chuckled and got up from his seated position to be level with Lily.
Lily sputtered, trying to catch her breath, bending so her hands were on her knees.
“Y/n… y/n,” Lily started, still struggling to get a word in between her gasping breaths.
“What’s wrong with y/n? is she okay?” Sirius said as he and James stood, panic flooding between the three of them at the thought that something had happened to you.
“She’s… fine… hhhh…” Lily drew a deep breath, regaining her ability to speak, “I don’t think she wanted to break up with you.”
“What do you mean?” Remus cocked an eyebrow, hope blossoming in the pit of his stomach at the prospect of getting their bunny back.
“She obviously did, she said she doesn’t love us anymore, so that’s it,” Sirius crossed his arms, his sadness still concealed by anger.
“She does love you, a lot actually… she’s been crying the whole week, she hasn’t left her bed… or dorm room for that matter,” Lily explained.
“I heard some girls talking about you three and y/n; they were speaking very ill of her and though I’m not sure, I think there’s a connection with them and y/n’s sudden need to end it with you three.”
“Are you sure? We don’t want to get our hopes up for nothing… we just really miss her,” James said sadly, all of them scared that their hearts would be broken all over again.
“I’m certain… she never shuts up about how much she loves you, which was the reason I was so shocked when she came in crying saying she had ended it.”
Lily hadn’t had the chance to properly finish her explanation before Sirius was bolting towards the castle and towards Gryffindor tower, with Remus and James close on his heel.
When three boys entered your dorm room, all out of breath and red in their faces, you were asleep curled up on your bed, still wearing what the boys recognized as Sirius’ t-shirt. They couldn’t ignore the dried tears that stained your cheeks, your face red from the crying, your lips turned down in a sad frown, even in sleep.
Remus was the first to walk towards your bed, seating himself beside you, slowly stroking your cheek as to wake you. James and Sirius placed themselves on the bed as well, waiting for you to open your beautiful eyes.
“Puppy… you gotta wake up now,” Sirius spoke softly, rubbing your back gently.
You stirred and slowly opened your eyes, focusing on the three boys on your bed; instantly deciding that you were dreaming, not believing that they could really be there.
“Hi… Remmy, Siri, and Jamsie,” you grogged out, voice hoarse from the constant crying.
“I wish you were here in real life.”
“Baby, we are here, this is real life,” James chuckled softly, still scared that you really didn’t love them.
You quickly sat up, reaching out and touching Remus’ face, only to just as quickly retract your hand when you felt the very real Remus sitting in front of you.
“What are you doing here?” You breathed quickly, not wanting them to see you in your broken state.
“Lily was worried about you… and she overheard something interesting in the library from some girls… so we want you to tell us what happened,” Remus spoke slowly and reached out to take your fiddling hands in his.
“What do you mean?” you played dumb, not wanting to answer their question, knowing you would break again if you did.
“We want you to tell us why you broke up with us, and not to lie this time,” Sirius was trying to conceal his anger, not wanting to upset you even further.
You let out a shaky breath, not knowing where to start; you looked between them all, all of them eager to hear what you had to say and listening intently.
“I was talking to this group of girls, and they got into my head about how you're all too good for me I don't deserve you... I just feel like you guys deserve someone way better than me and more beautiful than me that's why I wanted to give you an opportunity to be free from me.”
The three boy’s eyes widened in shock at your words, all three of their jaws open wide almost hanging on the floor from pure disbelief.
“Bunny, you're the most beautiful girl we've ever known we love you so much more than you ever know... We are the ones who don't deserve you, you’re an absolute angel and you should never let any stupid lowlife girls tell you that you're not good enough,” Remus said reaching out and stroking your cheek softly, tears gathered in his eyes.
Sirius’s eyes flashed red, he was in two minds, keeping you company or going to murder the girls who made you believe such nonsense, but he chose the first option, scooting closer to you and engulfing you in his arms.
“Puppy, please never listen to those stupid girls again... This week without you has been pure agony I've been stuck with these two idiots for far too long,” Sirius whispered to you whilst stroking your hair.
“Does that mean that we can get back together,” James said with a shy grin.
“Of course, if you'll have me back,” you looked at all three of them hopefully knowing that they in no way were obligated to get back together with you after what you'd put them through.
“Of course, will have you, we can't imagine life without you… a week was way too long without you,” Sirius said, his fingers tilting your chin so that you're forced to look into his eyes, he leaned down and kissed your lips - a whole week's worth of passion translated into this kiss.
Remus and James both moved so that they could embrace both you and Sirius creating one big ball of love.
Not so Innocent desires
Wolfstar x fem!reader
Warning : This is so filthy dear lord, explicit sexual content, Sub!fem reader, spanking, oral, innocence kink and I think that’s it
Just good ol fashioned smut
Summary : Turns out you Remus and Sirius want to treat you a certain way, it takes some special kind of convincing from your end though.
Word count : 3164
The lovely @fionanovasleftnut had a wonderful idea that I couldn’t resist writing about. I’m not sure with how this one turned out but I hope I did the idea justice. xXx
---
Being a family friend of the Weasleys had its perks. You always had someone to stick up for you, always had someone who could make you laugh, and you always had a home with them, wherever that may be. You had moved out on your own as soon as you graduated from Hogwarts, but it seemed that wasn’t the way to start your life as a young adult. The wizarding world was at war and Molly Weasley was insistent that one of her adopted daughters should not be defenseless living alone.
You had tried to reassure her that you would be fine, you even approached your most likely allies.
“Fred, George please tell her I’ll be fine. You understand right?” They only chuckled at your cute pout and brushed your concerns aside.
So no. No one was willing to risk the parting of their lovely Y/N.
You were too kindhearted, too sweet, too pure. A ray of sunshine in these dark times, too precious to leave unprotected.
You had been so angry at first, but your anger was soon turned into bashfulness as you were met by two very attractive men. Of course you knew Professor Lupin, he was your teacher and even now words from his mouth directed your way made heat rise to your face.
 Then there was Sirius Black. His long black hair framed his face perfectly. His stormy grey eyes made you completely weak at the knees.
Everything about these two men left you flustered, Remus’s quick wit, Sirius’s hearty laugh, the knowing glances they’d share, Remus’s scars you just wanted to spend hours tracing, and Sirius’s ring clad fingers that tapped impatiently against the table. For being in Azkaban for 12 years his hands sure looked strong and capable.
It was a blessing and a curse really. You got to admire two very attractive men, yet you couldn’t manage much more than bashful nods at times. That didn’t stop them from approaching you however. They were so kind and welcoming, so much so that you took up Sirius’s offer to stay there rather than at the Weasleys. He knew you valued your alone time and got anxious in large groups so he thought you’d appreciate your own room rather than crowding in with the Weasleys. It was all good and well.
Except for how often you found yourself rubbing your thighs together at night to ease some sort of tension. Nothing could stop the wetness that pooled in your underwear at the memory of Sirius clenching his jaw in anger as Snape talked, or the way Remus calmed him down by rubbing his hand up and down his thigh. So once again that night you found yourself with that familiar ache you just didn’t know how to satisfy on your own. Your fingers just weren’t good enough. You got up in a huff to get some water at an attempt to calm down. You slipped down the hallway silently, but the sound of a low moan coming from Sirius’s room stopped you in your tracks. The door was slightly ajar and although you knew you shouldn’t peek in, the dull throbbing of your clit convinced you to stay. You had to stifle your own moan at the sight in front of you.
Sirius was sitting on the edge of his four poster king sized bed while Remus was on his knees between his legs jacking him off.
“Fuck Pads, how was it already this hard I’ve hardly touched you.”
“It’s not my fault! Blame Y/N with those stupid lips she bites. And her big doe eyes and and- fuck Moony that feels so good.”
Remus grinned at the chance to tease Sirius.
“Not as good as Y/N would feel though right? Bet you’d love to have her little hands wrapped around your cock huh. Imagine if you got to stretch out her perfect little pussy. She’s so fucking innocent, so pure”
“I wanna ruin her god she’s pretty, but at the same time she’s so precious I don’t wanna taint her. She deserves something more gentle and sweet.”
“You’re certainly smitten aren’t you?”
“Don’t act like you don’t wanna fuck her to the brink of tears. Have you heard that cute little giggle? Imagine what her whines sound like. I just wanna watch as you wrap your big hands round her thro-”
“S’that what you want? You wanna make innocent little Y/N our cockslut. Wanna make her our needy puppy. Wonder how many times we could make her come with just our fingers.”
“Fuck Remus I’m gonna cum.”
“Yeah that’s right love, cum to the picture of fucking her mercilessly, her nails scratching down your back cause you’re fucking her so hard.”
You watched Sirius shudder while Remus’s face lit up in victory. You decided it was best to leave before they were no longer distracted.
Well, that certainly didn’t make you any less riled up. Looks like they wanted you as much as you wanted them. You knew you’d have to put your shyness aside, but how on earth do you talk to someone about that. Yes, hello I find you two super hot and I’d just love it if you’d degrade me and throw me around thank you so much. Frankly you never knew you wanted that yourself until you heard the words fall from their lips with ease. You put your plan in motion as you traveled back to your room, praying it would work.
---
You were giddy when you woke up, anxious for the day that awaited you. You decided to wear a shirt that Remus had once complimented, suddenly much more aware of how it complimented your chest. You paired it with your shortest skirt and thigh high socks. You turned around and shoulder checked to appreciate yourself, knowing if you bent over too much anyone could see the white lace thong you had underneath.
You knew the order meeting was starting earlier than usual so you pranced down the stairs and were met with a dumbstruck Ron and Ginny.
“Blimey Y/N, who are you trying to shag?” He was instantly met with a slap by Ginny.
“Shut it Ron, don’t talk about Y/N like that you git. You look adorable.” She reassured.
You smiled sweetly at her and gave her a quick peck on the cheek. “Thanks Gin, I’m gonna go get breakfast now.”
You swear you saw Remus and Sirius give a double take when you entered the kitchen. Pleased your plan was going well you continued into the next phase and sat between Fred and George casually as if your heart wasn’t racing a million miles an hour. Any laugh that the twins could pull from your lips were met with a hard stare from Sirius and Remus. Normally Remus could keep a calm disposition but you could notice the look of contempt in his eyes as his hand clenched the edge of the table.
 You pushed your chair back and made your way to the sink.
“Here Molly, let me help you clean up.”
“Thank you dear, you can just grab the dishes from the table love.”
You made your way round the table and once you reached where your two admirers were you squeezed between them and bent over to grab the last plate, feeling your skirt ride up high enough to gain a sharp intake of breath from Sirius.
“Sorry, it was just easier to get it this way.”
You smiled to yourself as you helped Molly finish cleaning. Everything cycled out and everyone rearranged where they sat as they tidied up before the meeting began. You were thrilled at the chance to sit between Remus and Sirius now that everyone had moved. You leaned forward so you could rest your chin on your hand as Kingsley Shacklebolt spoke of the newest updates happening within the ministry. Fred and George would sometimes try to throw you off by making funny faces, but they were met by a hard glare by Remus which instantly simmered them down, while Sirius placed his arm around the back of your chair in a possessive manner. Welp, now was as good a time as ever to test the waters. You leaned back into your chair and crossed one leg over the other so your foot would brush against Sirius’s calf. He passed a glance, and you took a deep breath and moved it up and down his leg. You smirked at how you saw his hands clench and that spurred you on to lightly place your hand on Remus’s thigh.
“Y/N love, what are you doing exactly” Remus’s voice was shaky, like he was holding back.
Time to ice the cake.
“Nothing Remmy, I’m just being innocent little Y/N.”
Sirius’s head swerved at that one and you couldn’t help but notice the growing tent in his trousers.
---
It took forever for everyone to leave after the meeting. It took even longer to convince Molly that you were fine to stay here rather than go back to the burrow.
“Alright Y/N if you’re sure, but you know how to reach me if you need anything at all right?”
“Of course Molly.”
If she knew what you wanted these two men to do to you she would be dragging you by the ear out the door. But finally, finally she left.
Leaving you alone with two straight faced men whose expressions were unreadable. Remus was the first to break the silence.
“Y/N, did you over hear our conversation last night”
You nodded, but Sirius wasn’t having it.
“Nuh uh, you’re gonna answer out loud for us pretty girl. You don’t get to tease us the way you do then act all shy now.”
“Yes, I heard.”
Remus returned to questioning you. “Yeah, and did you like what you heard?”
“I- I did.”
“Didn’t know you were such a naughty girl” Sirius chortled, “wish I would have known sooner.”
“I’m not naughty!”
“Oh yeah what makes you say that?”
“Cause I wanna be your good girl, please make me your good girl.”
Remus was hypnotised by the puppy dog eyes and pouty lips looking up at him.
“Shhh we’ve got you puppy, we just thought you’d want something more gentle.”
“No Remmy, I want you.”
“You can have me darling, let's go upstairs.”
He offered his hand to you and you took it eagerly, and began your journey upstairs, earning a chuckle from Sirius as you snatched his hand too on the way. As soon as you entered they had their hands on you, Sirius had you pressed against Remus as he was kissing your neck.
“You sure you want this love?”
“Please Siri.”
“Alright pup, safe word is red okay? Any point you feel uncomfortable you tell us and we’ll stop immediately. Can you say it for me?”
“Red.”
“Good girl,” Remus praised “Here, let's take all this off since it’s not covering much anyway.”
You nodded and lifted your arms for Remus while Sirius got on his knees to take off your skirt. He debated leaving the socks on, but he wanted you to feel every single thing so he took them off. Now last, but certainly not least.
“As cute as these panties are, they're only in my way, can I take these off precious?”
“M Hmm.”
Remus was quite content to take off your bra and massage your breasts and nibble across your shoulders while Sirius continued his attempts to draw dirty words from your clean mouth.
“Baby, your pussy is so wet right now. Can I touch it, love?”
You spread your legs further for him as an invitation.
“Not here, our precious girl deserves to be comfy on the bed.”
Remus sat against the headboard and motioned for you to follow suit between his thighs.
You practically skipped there, so excited for what was about to happen. You sat down with a quick plop and wiggled your hips to get more comfy, eyes wide as Sirius crawled up from the end of the bed to push your legs apart and gently trace your inner thighs with his forefinger.
“Tell me pup, have you ever touched yourself?”
You nodded bashfully, which Remus did not enjoy apparently as he lightly slapped your thigh with one hand while the other grabbed hold of your jaw to force your eyes onto Sirius fully.
“What did we say about speaking out loud pup, be a good girl.”
“Sorry Remmy, I got embarrassed, I do touch myself Siri”
Sirius grinned, “What makes you touch yourself sweet girl.”
“You, you and Moony do.” He relished in the whine that escaped your lips as he finally made contact with your aching clit, clearly he liked that answer.
“What do you imagine us doing to you pup.”
You moaned as his pace quickened. “Anything, anything you want.”
That’s when his tongue made contact on your clit instead. You jolted at the sudden change, but Remus was quick to hold you down.
“That feel good, sweetheart? I love Siri’s tongue too.”
You could only throw your head back and mewl as Sirius’s tongue flicked faster and he added a finger to the mix, completely enthralled with how your entrance clenched around it desperately.
“Pads I think our pretty girl is gonna cum keep going. Has anyone ever made you feel this good puppy? Fred or George couldn’t make you feel like this could they?”
“No- no Remmy.”
“Wait till I get my turn love, go on and cum so I can make my pretty girl feel good too.”
Even Sirius’s tight grip on your thigh couldn’t keep you tethered as you released on his face. Bliss like you had never known overtook and it’s like you were hyper aware of every touch, every breath of theirs that fanned across your body, and every kiss that Remus awarded you with for being your lovely self.
And you couldn’t get enough of it.
Neither could Sirius as he leaned back to take in the view of the masterpiece he created. He loved how you had squirmed under his touch as he continued to thrust his fingers eagerly.
He was feeling benevolent though and pulled out. Instead he took a firm grasp on your hair and pulled you on your hands and knees so you were eyelevel with his throbbing cock.
Remus placed a couple of smacks on your ass now that it was exposed for him.
“What do you say to Pads for making you feel so good?”
Sirius wondered if you were aware how cute you looked with your owlish eyes oggling his long member.
“Thank you, Siri.”
“That’s right Puppy, now how about you return the favor.”
You just nodded obediently and stuck out your tongue, which only made Sirius growl even louder as he shoved his cock in your mouth. You tried your best to relax your throat but found yourself gagging at the surprise feeling of Remus’s head rubbing up and down your slick folds.
You arched your back and whimpered around Sirius’s cock and Remus got the message loud and clear. Slowly he inched his way inside groaning when your wet heat enveloped him completely. Once you were used to the feeling you wiggled your hips as a signal so he could move. The slow powerful thrusts of Remus made Sirius thrust through your perfect lips even faster at how the vibrations you emitted felt around his cock. His grip on your hair got even tighter.
“Fuck you feel so good puppy, such a good girl taking such good care of us. I’m gonna cum all over that pretty face, want me to cum all over your face, sweet girl?”
At the sound of your desperate whining he gave your face a few rough pats and yanked your head back. He couldn’t take his eyes off you as you stuck your tongue out waiting patiently while he stroked his dick furiously. Finally he released on your face, but before you got the chance to think he was licking it up with wide stripes across your face before moving to kiss Remus. You glanced over your shoulder at the two most beautiful men you’d ever been blessed to see, and moaned as their teeth clashed in a hungry and needy kiss. They stopped in a pant and had their foreheads pressed together, grinning at your demands.
“Moony I think our good little puppy wants more attention.”
“Aw, is that so my needy angel. I can fix that for you.”
Quicker than you could count he had you flipped on your back and started fucking into you ruthlessly. His movements were filled with so much determination that every thrust was pushing you to the end of the bed until your back was hanging off the edge. He grabbed hold of your legs and swung them both over your shoulders so he could reach even newer sensitive spots inside you, completely captivated by how freely your tits bounced in this position.
“Rem- Remus I’m gonna cum.”
“No you’re not, you be our good girl and hold on a little longer.”
“Please I can’t take it.”
“If you wanna cum you beg for it then, since you can’t wait.”
“Please please, let me be your good girl, please let me cum you make me feel so good please.”
“Hear that Pads? Imagine if someone heard pure little Y/N acting as our desperate puppy. Okay darling you go ahead and make a mess on my cock baby.”
A wave of euphoria rushed over you as you hung there and took every slam that came your way. The bliss however quickly became too much as your legs wriggled to find your escape from his strong grasp. He just grunted and let you slide into a heap on the floor. He swept to the side of the bed and around to where you were and hoisted you back on the bed so you were on your stomach and your legs hung off the edge. He pressed his hand to your back to firmly hold you in place.
“Angel you begged for this, now you’re gonna take it, yeah?”
He returned to his prior animalistic pace that summoned tears to roll down your cheeks.
Sirius started petting your head lovingly “It’s okay love, you’re being such a good girl for Moony and I. You look so gorgeous with those tears all fucked out.”
He continued to comfort you and press kisses to your hairline until finally Remus reached satisfaction with his brutal attack on your tight hole.
“Fuck, Y/N I’m gonna cum”
He pulled out swiftly and his hips found their way to Sirius’s hungry lips. It was such a beautiful sight, but your voice made and audible whine before you could control yourself.
“What’s wrong sweetheart, thought you wanted me to stop.”
“Wanted your cum, wanted you to cum in me Remmy.”
“We’ve got plenty of time to make that happen precious girl.”
General Relationship Headcanons || Sirius Black
”Request: hi, love! i adore your new remus headcanon and i was wondering if you could write a general relationship headcanon with sirius black? if not, that’s completely fine. have a good day!
Notes: Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m sorry this took me a little longer than I anticipated but I also went really over the top, it’s twice the length of my Remus Headcanon I just got really into it. I was once again inspired to write Dad!Marauders so maybe I’ll get around to that. I wanted to thank you all for such positive feedback on my Remus Headcanon. I hope you enjoy this. Also thank you anon, I love you.
Warnings: fluff, smut, a bit of angst, canon can go fuck itself, Sirius Black deserves to be happy, not proof read because I wrote most of this in one sitting and didn’t have the heart to go back and reread. The ending is a little choppy
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Sirius Black was never shown enough love as a child
Even at age 11 you were able to pick that up, when you were dragged into a train car with four other first years. James Potter, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, and Sirius Black
He seemed nervous, he kept on looking out the window of the train car and fiddling with his fingers
James tries desperately to get everyone to talk, he feels likes he’s responsible for forging your guy’s friendship
Remus, Peter, he, and you hit it off immediately and you see Sirius smile at some of your jokes out of the corner of your eye but he’s nearly trembling
When you guys start talking about what houses you want to be sorted into he turns green
And when James says how he doesn’t want to be sorted into Slytherin he looks like he’s about to vomit
“Are you alright?” You ask him, placing a delicate hand on his shoulder
He seems uncomfortable with the contact so you move your hand away
“I’m just a little nervous” He admits that he comes from a long line of Slytherins, you offer to hex James for saying that for him, but he lets out a quick laugh and tells you it's fine
He’s actually really worried that he’s going to be sorted into Slytherin whilst simultaneously being terrified about what would happen if he gets sorted into another house.
Ravenclaw could be one thing
Hufflepuff another
But Gryffindor, that just couldn’t happen
You don’t touch him this time because you saw how he reacted last time but you reassure him that it will all be fine and no matter which house he gets sorted into you’ll still be his friend, no matter what
That earns you a real smile
A smile that takes your breath away
And even though you’re too young to understand what you’re feeling that’s when you start to fall for him.
You hold your breath while he gets sorted
Like him you feel very conflicted, you’re glad he’s not in Slytherin because of what he shared with you about his family
But at the same time you’re afraid for him
You might’ve only known him for a couple of hours but you have an inexplicable attraction to him and the idea of him being so scared breaks your heart
If you’re a Gryffindor he sits next to you and the others but doesn’t really say much because he’s too busy trying to figure out what he’s going to do
If you’re in a different house then you send him a smile across the Great Hall and go to find him after the feast
“How are you doing Sirius?”
He brushes you off, tells you he’s fine but you can tell he’s not, you let it go though and decide to give him his space, telling him that if he ever needs to talk you’ll listen
The next day in the Great Hall he receives a Howler from his mother, telling him how much of a useless disappointment he is. He plays it cool like it doesn’t really bother him but you can tell that he’s hurt and it makes you unbelievably sad
Your first lesson that day is together and though you sit with one of your dorm mates and he sits with James, you watch him the entire time, you just can’t seem to pry your eyes off of him.
As the year goes on and he starts to come to terms with what his life is going to be like now, he starts to come more and more out of his shell
Answering questions in class, laughing boisterously with his friends during meals, hexing people in the corridors, pranking Slytherins for shits and giggles
But it’s almost as though he’s forgotten about you, he smiles at you when he sees you in the halls or in classes but he doesn’t actively seek you out like you wished he would.
And you’re too scared to because you told him that you would always be there if needed someone to talk to but he hasn’t come to you yet
So that obviously means that he doesn’t want to talk to you
And that’s fine
You’re not going to force a friendship
You still study with Remus in the library
And talk with James about his day when you bump into him
And help Peter if he’s having trouble in a class
But you and Sirius don’t seem to click the same as you do with the rest of them
This continues through your second year until about 5 weeks into your third year.
At this point he’s starting to physically mature a bit, not a lot, that doesn’t come for a few more years, but his shoulders get a little broader, he gets a little taller, his legs start growing hair.
Girls start paying him attention, and more attention than the harmless crushes from previous years
His blossoming looks paired with his wit and sarcasm have every single person in his grade and younger turning their head to take a second look
Sirius being the humble soul he is-
No I’m just fucking with you
Being the little shit that he is, all of this just goes to his head
And he becomes even more insufferable than he was
But you’ve never found him insufferable, not really
You just told yourself that because it was easier than confronting your feelings for him
One day he, James, Remus, and Peter pull a prank that ends up with you covered in quill ink while on your way to Herbology
You weren’t their intended target
You still spoke quite a bit with three of them
It really was just a prank gone awry
But it still sucked
You stalked back to your dorm abandoning your friends in the hallway, not making eye contact with any one as you passed by
Sirius noticed this
He couldn’t stop himself from watching as you jogged down the hallway
Head down
Trying to evade people’s gazes
He’d barely talked with you in 2 years but he was hit by a tremendous feeling of guilt
He hadn’t meant to upset you, he really hadn’t
So he told the others that he wouldn’t be attending History of Magic that day (what else is new?)
And instead took off for you down the hallway
Never mind your house, when you come back down into the common room after taking a shower there’s Sirius Black, lounging on a sofa like he owns the damned place, looking around the room, taking in every little detail if it's not his common room. If it is the Gryffindor common room then he’s staring up at the girl’s staircase, waiting for you to come down.
When you see him you blush
“Si-Sirius, what are you doing here?”
Immediately you become more aware of your appearance, fixing your hair and straightening out your skirt.
“I just wanted to apologize (Y/N) we didn’t mean for that prank to backfire onto you, we’d never do that to you, it was meant for Snivileus-”
“Severus”
“Yeah sure, whatever. What’s important is that you know that I didn’t mean for that to hurt you, I’m sure the other boys will apologize too I just wanted to tell you that I’m sorry”
Does Sirius Black look… nervous?
“It’s fine Black, really I was just having a bad day.”
He doesn’t know why but your usage of his last name is like a knife to the chest, why wasn’t he just Sirius?
Then he remembered, because he’d barely spoken to you in the past 2 years
“I’d like to make it up to you though.”
You turn him down, telling him that that’s not necessary, you’re fine
But he’s not having it, so the next day when you sit down for breakfast you find yourself surrounded by not only Sirius but all of them
They’re acting like this is completely normal but you’re lost
What the hell are they doing?
“Making it up to you of course”
Suddenly they’re everywhere, he’s everywhere
The others were already friendly with you so its not as much of a difference
But all of a sudden Sirius Black is everywhere
Eating meals with you until you relent and come sit with him and the other Marauders at their spot at the Gryffindor table
Suddenly he’s hefting the bag off your shoulder and slinging it around his
The year seems to fly by with him at your side
Sneaking you guys food from the kitchens
They show you the invisibility cloak
Pitching the idea of the Marauders map
And all of a sudden it’s the end of your 3rd year and the care free, witty Sirius you’ve come to know over the past year had morphed into someone far more reminiscent of that scared little boy you first met on the Hogwarts Express
The night before the last day of the term you find yourself alone with Sirius in the Gryffindor common room
You ask him if he’s alright, the past few days he hasn’t been acting like himself
He doesn’t have the energy to try and lie to you anymore, he lets it all out, he tells you about all the backlash since he was sorted
He tells you about Regulus
And how they don’t even talk anymore, “I can’t talk to him (Y/N), I want to but if our mother knows that he associates with me then he’ll be punished, and punishments in the Black house aren’t getting grounded they’re, unforgivable”
You gasp at the implication and reach out to touch his shoulder, but then you’re thrown back to the train and remember how uncomfortable it seemed to make him
But it’s too late, by the time you realize your hand is already on his shoulder
You start to apologize and pull it back but his hand wraps around your wrist which brings your eyes to his
They’re brimming with tears
“Don’t leave”
You pull him into your arms, raking your fingers through his hair, whispering sweet nothings into his ear
Explaining that you just didn’t want to make him uncomfortable
He tells you it's fine, he likes it when you touch him
You two sit there in silence until you think Sirius had calmed down
You tell him you’ll write to him every day
He tells you that you don’t have to do that
You still insist that you will
You two sit there for Godric knows how long but eventually you yawn and that alerts Sirius to how late it's gotten
Tells you he’s sorry that he’s kept you up so late
You tell him it’s fine, it was worth it to make sure he was okay
He blushes but its too dark for you to be able to tell
He walks you to the staircase even though it’s literally 5 feet away
“Good night Sirius”
“Good night (Y/N)”
The next day on the train back to King’s Cross you purposefully sit next to Sirius so you can keep a hand on his arm the entire time
It’s so subtle but doesn’t go unnoticed by the other Marauders
Though they decide not to mention it, he’s having a hard enough day as it is
You hate watching him trudge over to his parents when you arrive at the station, you and James exchange an understanding look.
You both care about him so much, watching him be this wretched physically hurts you
As soon as you get home you sit down and write him a letter
He told you that he probably wouldn’t be able to respond to most of your letter
And that’s fine, but every now and then you get one back
And your heart soars
You count down the days until September 1st, when you finally get to see him again
When you’ll know for certain that he’s okay
You nearly have a heart attack when you can’t find him on platform 9 ¾, but he was just already on the train with Remus and Peter, waiting for you and James to show up
As soon as you can you ask him how he is
He’s doing better than he usually is after an entire summer with Walburga and company
He thanks you profusely for the letters
You tell him not to sweat it
You’re just glad you could help
Once you know he’s okay you allow yourself to relax a little and that’s when you notice that he’s grown up quite a bit since June
His shoulders continue to broaden, his hair is longer, but he looks thin, too thin
And you want to hug him again, but you stop yourself
The sexual tension between the two of you 4th year is unbearable
And borderline uncomfortable
Poor Peter doesn’t know what to do with himself
You write to him again every single day over the winter holidays when he’s forced home to his wretched blood family
When you’re both back at Hogwarts things are even weirder than they were before
Sirius clams up every time you get near him and goes vermillion in the face
You’re sitting in the library the second Monday of the term when he approaches you
“What do you want, Sirius?” You ask without lifting your head
“You sound frustrated.”
“I am Sirius! You’ve been acting weird for a week and I’m sick of it. What do you want?”
He just sort of stands there looking at you, because he didn’t expect you to yell at him.
He’s not sure if he’s ever heard you raise your voice in his entire life.
“I should leave”
“Just tell me what it is Sirius!”
Everyone is looking at you
“This was a bad idea!”
“What is it!”
“I like you!”
This wasn’t how he imagined telling you how he felt about you
Yelling it in the library
Which a bunch of 2nd years gawking
“You what?”
He suggests you guys leave the library for somewhere more private
You agree, and he takes you down to a tree by the Black Lake
When he first told you he liked you in the library you couldn’t believe it, this boy, whom you’ve harbored a crush for for literal years, likes you too
And this isn’t just any boy, this is Sirius Black
And that’s when you remember, shit, this is Sirius Black
“This isn’t a prank or something is it?”
He starts denying it before you can even finish your sentence, it stings a little that you would think that but he understands why.
When you tell him that you return his feelings his his  face breaks out into a smile and he lifts you into his arms and spins you around
“Really?”
“Yes really, now put me down please”
He sets you down but he pulls you so close to his body you can almost feel his pulse thrumming through his body
He asks to kiss you and you let him
From that day forward Sirius always has an arm around your shoulders or around your waist
He likes to pull you into his side so he can whisper things into your ear
He likes it when you perch yourself a top his thigh when he sits down
He also likes you sitting in between his legs
And he likes to sit in between yours too so he can smooth his hands up and down your calves
As you get more comfortable with touching each other, he’ll like to slink down so that his head is right in between your thighs so he can just turn his head and kiss them
Having his hands on you reminds him that you’re there, and if you’re there with him then everything is going to be fine
He’s going to get through that History of Magic Lesson
He’s going to finish that Potions essay
One day James might finally stop talking about Evans
He’s not going to bite Snape’s head off
Everything is going to be just fine
He takes you on dates to the Black Lake, you guys like to sit on the dock and dip your toes in the water, especially when it's warm and sunny out
Sirius will slip off his shirt so he can tan a bit and you’ll set your head on his chest, with your toes brushing up against the water
By the time the two of you finally got together you’d already spent multiple nights in the Marauders dorm room
But you usually slept with Remus in his bed because his was the cleanest
But now that your Sirius’ he sleeps with your head tucked under his chin, your body pulled flush against his chest, his arms have an iron grip on you, you couldn’t get out of bed even if you wanted to.
Waking up with him when he’s had a nightmare and the two of you lie there, chests pressed together, fingers tangled with each other’s, whispering about whatever you can think of
When he can’t sleep he’ll lay his head on your chest and listen to the beating of your heart to calm him down
He loves to do this with your shirt off, not in a sexual way he’s just like a baby and skin to skin contact is good for him
It centers him
He really likes sneaking into the astronomy tower with you at night to look at the stars
You murmur into each other’s ears about everything ranging from the your purpose in the cosmos to the color you should paint your nails next, he always votes red and gold, no matter your house
Painting your nails the colors of your house in spite of him if you’re not in Gryffindor
He volunteers to paint your nails once and does them in red and gold
One year for his birthday you give him a bunch of old muggle magazines your parent/guardian sent you when you wrote requesting them
The two of you lay on your stomachs, elbows bent, legs tangling with each other in the air as you skim through them
You point out the different muggle contraptions and what they do and how to use them
When you get to a mechanic magazine you have to explain to an overly excited Sirius what a motorcycle is
He becomes absolutely enamored with them and begs you for more magazines and reading materials on them
For Christmas that year you get him a miniature motorcycle that you charm to fly around his dorm room.
If you’re on your house’s Quidditch team that idiot is there every single one of your games, decked head to toe in your house colors
He also frequents your practices bringing you water and food for when you’re done
Sirius can get pretty jealous
He’s always been insecure in himself so seeing other people get to friendly with you just hits all of his buttons
He never takes it out on you, because he knows how it feels to be the object of misplaced anger
Instead Sirius will come up behind you when you’re talking to them and loop him arms around your waist, pulling you close to him
Or if you’re sitting down he’ll put his hand on your thigh
He doesn’t go overboard, it's not like if you’re talking to someone he’s going to challenge them to a duel
He just needs everyone to know that you’re his
And he doesn’t share
Letting you do his makeup once after you begged him and now he’s the one who’ll beg you
“Please Princess”
He looks so hot in eyeliner
Like no one has the right to be that good looking
And the mother fucker knows he looks good
You and James plan extravagant gifts and parties for his birthday every year because no one on this planet loves Sirius Black more than the two of you and you’re dedicated to making up for so many lost years
You and Remus bake him a cake every year and he loves blowing out all of the candles, he insists their quantity matches his age, none of that cop out bull shit where its just candles in the shape of numbers
No
He wants to blow out all of them
Your first birthday together Sirius has no clue what to get you, because it’s not like previous years, you’re together now so this gift has to be special, it has to be perfect
He consults everyone he can think of
Lily
James
Remus
Your dorm mates
Hell, he even writes to your family asking what he should get you
In the end they all only make it worse because he has all of these wonderful ideas and can’t choose because what if he chooses wrong and you would have preferred something else instead
So he gets you everything he can think of
You told him 3 weeks ago how you wanted to try a new quill, he’s bought you 7 different types to try out
He can’t decide whether you’d be prettier in rubies, emeralds, or diamonds so he buys you each
You wish you could say that it lets up as years pass
And it does
But only slightly
When his parents kick him out of the house James floos you instantly, tells you its Sirius and that he’s going to be fine, but he needs you
When you get to the Potter’s he’s bloody and bruised and looks like Hell
You have to stop yourself from sobbing at the sight of him
No one gets to hurt Sirius that way
Absolutely no one
When he sees you he starts crying and opens his arms for you to come to him
You help bandage him up and wipe away the dried blood
Once he’s clean and in new clothes you take his face in your hands and press your foreheads together
“I love you Siri, I love you to the moon and back.”
That’s the first time either of you have said “I love you” to the other
He starts sobbing
You pull him into your arms with his head on your chest and you pet him hair, telling him how much you love him and that he’s safe, you’re never going to let anyone touch him ever again
James comes into his room that night, neither of you are asleep, Sirius is still crying only now silently and less violently into your top
Wordlessly James slips into Sirius’ bed on the other side of him and both of you hold him all night long, telling him that he’s safe and that he’s loved, and that he never has to see his mother ever again
That he has a family right there and neither of you will ever make him feel like this
You spend the rest of the summer at the Potter’s
You and James were already good friends but you spend the rest of the holidays bonding over your love and protectiveness of Sirius
Sometimes he jokes that his girlfriend is trying to steal his best friend, but he really doesn’t mind
He loves it actually
The love and protectiveness you feel for Sirius goes both ways
He will not hesitate to kick someone’s ass for you
He often forgets that he’s a wizard at these moments and throws a punch instead of a hex
Cleaning him up after he gets into a fight and scolding him for not thinking, a professor could’ve seen him, he could still get in trouble
When you graduate Hogwarts together the Potter’s come for both him and James
He cries when they congratulate him and tell him that they’re proud of him
Your family also tells him how proud they are of him and he hugs every single person there
You guys move in together, you live a 5 minute walk from James and Lily
He doesn’t wait 2 months before he’s proposing to you
You accept of course
Engagement sex
The man was virile when you were still at Hogwarts but when you first move in together he insists you christen every single room in the house
He loves to make you scream out his name as he overstimulates you
He’s not as hard of a dom as Remus but he’s meaner, he doesn’t just mock you
He degrades you (as long as you’re comfortable with it)
He calls you every dirty name in the book
He loves to put you in barely there lingerie and make you touch yourself as he watches
Will mock you while you do it
“What puppy, your fingers aren’t making you feel good enough? Course they’re not, you’re a desperate little thing aren’t you? Need my cock in order to stretch you, make you feel good. Look at how small your fingers are, how are they supposed to do anything?”
He loves to punish you
To the point where he’ll set expectations that are impossible for you to meet so he can punish you for them
You’re both very open with what you do and do not like and try experimenting a lot
He is so kinky
Loves to edge you and watch you squirm in his grasp
Won’t let you cum until you’ve begged long enough
He loves ruining your orgasms, especially as punishment after you’ve broken one of his rules, but sometimes he does it just to be mean
He has very talented fingers and can make you cum in a matter of minutes if he wants to
Loves eating out, your little whimpers and whines make him want to just destroy you
Enjoys watching your cunt clench around nothing
Will laugh at this and smack your clit
Gets you a collar that says “puppy” or “slut” on it
He’ll tug on it with his finger to get you to look at him
Back to the engagement sex, as soon as you say yes he is on you
You jerk him off onto your tits so he can see the ring on your finger while your hand is wrapped around his dick
Breeding kink breeding kink breeding kink
Especially when Harry is born
The minute he sees you holding little baby Harry in your arms he feels the overwhelming urge to take you there
When you get home that night he tells you how gorgeous you looked with Harry and how much he wants to have a little “pup” of his own
“Gonna fill my puppy with my pups”
Makes you lay with your ass in the air once he’s cum inside you to make sure none of it gets wasted
Will plug you full
“How’s that feel puppy? Good?”
He’s always been able to get you to subspace but now its like he barely has to try, loves calling you his good girl and telling you how well you did for him
You guys don’t get pregnant immediately, which Sirius does not take well
In his mind there’s absolutely no way that you’re the problem
It must be him
He sees his inability to impregnate you as his first failure as a father
Gets really sad
You tell him how much you love him and that this isn't him failing, it could very well be you who is making it difficult to conceive
You have very soft, passionate sex that night as you ride him
He runs his hands up and down your body as you tell him how good he’s making you feel
Maybe it was that night, perhaps it was a different one but a month and a half later the Healer at St. Mungos tells you you’re pregnant
He’s ecstatic
Sirius literally can’t stop smiling
Not that he wants to
But his face almost hurts from how much he’s grinning
Sirius is the best person to have with your when you’re pregnant
He’s always making sure you’re comfortable and that you have everything you need
He’ll try out all your weird pregnancy cravings with you
Especially if you’re feeling a little shy about asking for weird combinations
He loves kissing your belly
He’ll sing French lullabies to it as he moves his hands in circles on your skin
Man never slows down as you progress through your pregnancy, watching you swell just makes him fuck you harder
At first the prospect of decorating a whole room for an infant seems mundane to him
But as soon as you and Lily are pulling out the paint swatches and wallpaper samples he gets so excited and loves helping out
He has to have James and Remus come over to help him put together the crib, he just can’t do it
When he learns he gets to buy clothes for his kid he’s so excited
He and James spend hours going through baby clothes and like with everything Sirius has a very strong opinion about this too
“No Prongs, I’m not putting my child in that, I actually like them”
When the Healer tells you you’re having twins he loses his mind
He’s so excited
Twice the clothes to buy
Twice the toys
Twice the cribs and diapers
He’s thrilled
When the baby comes he doesn’t let himself freak out because this isn’t about him
It’s about you and your baby
He holds your hand the entire time and lets you squeeze however hard you’d like to
Kisses your knuckles and tells you how good of a job you’re doing
You’re in labor for 15 hours
And it nearly kills him
Seeing you in so much pain makes him physically unwell
He wishes he could take away all of your pain for you
But he can’t, so he does what he can
Feeding you ice chips
Massaging your back
He read somewhere that orgasming can help speed along labor
So he does what he does best and makes you cum a few times on his fingers
It's possible that that’s what actually worked
It could’ve also been something entirely different, but he will claim it was making you cum, that finally worked
Your son is born first, and as much as Sirius would’ve been happy with whatever sex, his heart swells with pride to know that he just produced the first half-blood heir to the Ancient and Most Noble House of Black
Next is your little girl
He cries when he sees her
She’s so beautiful, and looks just like you
The two of you sit there kissing and doting on your children for hours until you eventually pass out because you just pushed two humans out of your body
Fast forwarding a bit, the first time his daughter, who has him wrapped around her finger, calls him “Dada” his heart swells and he looks over at you but you’re already staring at him, tears in your eyes you whisper to him
“You’re doing a good job”
Hey! Love your stories so much I just had to ask! Do you have any favorite drarry authors/stories? I sometimes compare the quality of other stories to ROA (oops!) because ROA is just that good. My personal favorites are ROA (of course!), the Foundations Series (saras_girl), the ordeal of being known (louisfake), denouement (the_never_was), Good to Me (And I'd Be So Good to You) (AWickedMemory), and To Hurt and Heal (cassisluna). Have you read these? Have a wonderful day! :)
Thank you, so glad you’ve enjoyed my stories! And thank you for so patiently waiting for a reply. I haven’t been online much in the past couple of weeks. Unfortunately I haven’t read any of your recs, but I’m always happy to add another fic to my to-read list.
I did a rec post a few months ago, but I’ll post an updated version now. The Skyhawke Archives appear to be down, which is crushing news. I’ve had to update a lot of the links.
So here are my favourite Drarry fanfics:
And We Are At Our Apogee (PG-13) by angelgazing
Summary: Draco wanted revenge, but it didn't work out that way.
My notes: Californian beaches, supermarkets, road trips, and a bittersweet ending.
-
A Reckless State of Mind (T) by Lomonaaeren
Summary: Draco is a Psyche-Diver, and his newest patient is Auror Potter, who’s been a pathological liar for over a year—and has just tried to violently end his own life.
Notes: The plot alone guarantees inclusion on this list. Probably the most creative fic I’ve ever read, and the twists and turns will keep you guessing.
-
Berlin, In the Year of Our Lord (PG) by Are
Summary: Harry is a green-tea addict. Draco stalks him.
Notes: Probably my all-time favourite fic, along with Blue Vase. It’s sparse and minimal and I love that writing style.
-
Blue Vase (M) by ivyblossom
Summary: Let’s pretend.
Notes: Draco finds an amnesiac Harry and befriends him, pretending they were once lovers. It’s pensive, short, and bittersweet.
-
The Boy Who Only Lived Twice (E) by lettered
Summary: Harry Potter is an Unspeakable. Draco Malfoy is the wizard who shagged him. Adventure! Intrigue! Secret identities, celebrities, spies! It's all right here, folks.
Notes: Action-heavy fics are damn hard to write, but lettered nails it. The action scenes are breakneck speed, the conversations are threaded with double meaning, and even the silences are tense.
-
Draco in Darkness (T) by Plumeria47.
Summary: Following an accident in his seventh year, Draco loses his eyesight.
Notes: This is one of the first fics I ever read (when it was over on FF in 2003) so it’s probably here just for nostalgia points alone. I read it when I was a kid and just thought it was a lovely golden fairytale, the best romance I’d ever read in my (very short, thus far) life. I love reading it again, even years later as an adult when I can see the tarnish on it; the things my childhood eyes didn’t notice. I don’t care. It’s my soft and fuzzy comfort fic.
-
The Flesh is Frail (NC-17) by wildestranger
Summary: None
Notes: Draco has injuries from curses and spells, and Harry keeps him company. Draco is angry; Harry is stubborn. They argue their way into a grudging relationship. It’s a short read and well worth your ten minutes.
-
Good-bye to Yesterday (NC-17) by furiosity
Summary: Draco felt ready to face even a million years in Azkaban as long as it meant that at the end of it all, he would make Potter pay.
Notes: It’s not a dark fic, but it certainly dips in and out of the shadows. If you like your romance to be sharp as a razor and bitter as black coffee, give it a read.
-
Hymn to Color (PG) by Lomonaaeren
Summary: Months after Draco cast a curse that took Harry’s eyesight, Harry is still trying to come to terms with it. Draco still wanted forgiveness, which was probably the problem.
Notes: Probably my very inadequate idea of “fluff”. It’s a quiet, introspective fic. Draco and Harry are well-written.
-
Kings among runaways (PG) by enderxenocide.
Summary: Later, the toast will be slightly overcooked, Draco will burn the eggs, and there will be another fist fight in-between the living room and the front door, but they’ll eat breakfast with second-hand plates and Draco’s great-grandmother’s silverware.
Notes: Dreamy descriptions, abstract scenes, and the characters are lovingly delineated. Beautiful writing.
-
On Broken Glass (PG-13) by coffeejunkii
Summary: After the final battle, Draco is holding the shards that are left of his and Harry’s life.
Notes: Established relationship. Harry’s forgetful and seems to suffer both short-term and long-term memory loss; Draco stays by his side through six years of post-war amnesia. Very short, just a tiny ficlet. There’s sequels (in bite-size pieces) but I prefer to read the first ficlet and leave it there.
-
Paper Dolls (M) by cupiscent
Summary: In the final year of the War, Draco gets a letter, makes a choice and pays the price.
Notes: Short, succinct, and packs a punch. No character deaths, in case the summary has you feeling nervous.
-
Portrait (PG-13) by Silent Blast
Summary: None.
Notes: Dorian Grey, but Drarry. Of course it’s going to be good.
-
Shattered (NC-17) by femmequixotic
Summary: One damned accident involving one too-lucky curse, and suddenly you'd think he was five again, with their Harry, be carefuls and their quick Levitating charms ready the instant the potion gives way and his rebelling hands lose hold of whatever's in their grasp.
Notes: Draco’s an artist. Harry’s intrigued by his sculptures and paintings.
-
Snatch (PG-13) by didntyoupotter
Summary: Harry is comatose, Hermione and Ron aren’t much help, and Draco isn’t sure about anything anymore.
Notes: The opening scene fools you into thinking this will be a light read with a streak of good humour. Don’t fall for it. By the third act, you’ll be hanging onto every word and feeling a lot of emotions. Also, back in the day, this was one of the Draco/Harry fics. Everyone knew of it. Pay your respects to your fandom history and read this beloved classic.
-
The Stages of Acceptance (T) by Lomonaaeren.
Summary: Harry, already happily married to Ginny, receives the news that he's Draco's mate. Law and custom don't give him the option of ignoring the news. The stages of his reaction, one by one.
Notes: This is not a romance, and I love that the author just casually chucks all the Veela tropes in the bin and says “nope”. In Lomonaaeren’s own words, this fic is more practical than romantic. Harry is unfamiliar with the Veela concepts and hates the very idea of being “shackled” to someone; he rejects Draco at once. Draco is miserable and lonely. They do eventually come to understand each other better, but it’s a huge struggle with lots of setbacks. The general air of pessimism and misery does make the small glimpses of compassion and empathy feel so well-earned. I love a fic that rations out its happiness.
-
The Stately Homes of Wiltshire (E) by waspabi
Summary: Malfoy Manor has mould, dry rot and an infestation of unusually historical poltergeists. Harry Potter is on the case.
Notes: This one needs no introduction. The writing is polished, the characterisation perfect, and the dialogue is fun. I love the humour woven throughout it.
-
Then Comes a Mist and a Weeping Rain (E) by faithwood.
Summary: It always rains for Draco Malfoy. Metaphorically. And literally. Ever since he had accidentally Conjured a cloud. A cloud that's ever so cross.
Notes: Another one that most of us know. It’s a lighthearted and fun read.
-
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow (M) by novembersnow
Summary: In the war-torn years after Hogwarts, one man has no knowledge of his yesterdays.
Notes: Another classic back in the feverish heyday of the Harry Potter fandom, when books were still being released and everyone had worked themselves up into a shipping frenzy. And no wonder this fic was an instant hit. Draco has lost all his memories and Harry’s investigating as an Auror, but the longer you read, the more you start questioning everything. Good twists and turns that lead to a tender ending.
-
Turn by Saras_Girl
Summary: One good turn always deserves another. Apparently.
Notes: An inevitable inclusion on any favourites list. I think my favourite thing about it is the characterisation. Everyone is so well-rounded; the characters are brought to life and feel like old friends. All their habits, styles, mannerisms, even the way they walk or talk. While I love everyone in this fic, I have to admit that Blaise is just amazing. Of all the thousands of Blaises imagined by fanfic writers, I love this one the best. “Old bean” indeed.
Under the Ivy (PG-13) by coffeejunkii
Summary: It is impressive how much you can learn about someone by simply sharing a few rooms. They don’t spend time together, not really, but Harry still knows that Malfoy prefers raspberry jam over strawberry, that he hums along to the Wireless when he thinks no one is around, and that his leg is bothering him more than usual when the temperatures drop below freezing.
Notes: Another old, old favourite of mine. It’s like snuggling into a soft blanket. Remus owns a cottage and Harry moves in after the war. Later, Remus lets a room to Draco, who is an outcast after the war and has limited housing options. Harry isn’t happy at first with the new lodger, but he eventually warms up to Draco. A slow and gentle romance.
-
Vale Sanare (M) by rurounihime
Summary: Draco’s world gains a new component, just when he thought he’d sorted everything out.
Notes: London nightclubs, one-night-stands, loud music and lonely nights. Draco has seizures due to a curse from the war, and the seizures have led to a fear of intimacy. Short and sweet.
-
The Way Down (T) by lettered
Summary: Malfoy’s all, “Come out of there,” the way you say to a cat who is badly behaved. And Harry’s all like, “No, what, I’m a hermit! And I have a chest-monster! And I am crazy magically powerful!” and Malfoy’s all, “We all have problems, bub.” (thoughtfully) “You are crazy though. I’ll give you that.”
Notes: I just adore this fic. The fic starts well-grounded, giving you a solid backstory and matter-of-fact context, but as it goes on, it slowly unravels into dreamy scenes, lush settings, and repeated motifs. It’s just such a beautiful story.
-
When Love beckons to you, follow him (PG-13) by megyal
Summary: Draco wakes up, lost, somewhere in a forest. He has no idea where he is or how he got there. As he is blundering around trying to find his way home, he hears Harry's voice in his head, telling him what to do.
Notes: I generally like my fics to be bittersweet or with a bit of heartache — but this fic is just a little cloud of softness. If you need something light and lovely without being syrupy-sweet, this is a good choice!
-
The World of the Living (M) by fourth_rose
Summary: A traumatised war hero and a convicted criminal under the roof of an eccentric journalist make for a rather odd ensemble, but Luna has never had a problem with oddities as long as they make sense.
Notes: The story is told from Luna’s perspective, which gives everything a lovely dreamy quality. She takes in a couple of strays after the war — first Harry, who is avoiding his other friends and has quit his Auror job — and then she offers a room to Draco right after his trial. Draco is rude, angry, and ungrateful; Harry is churlish, withdrawn, and moody. Luna doesn’t seem to mind in the slightest, and over the course of the next few months, her house guests slowly warm up to each other.
-
Voices From the Fog (E) by noeon
Summary: After years of running away, Harry crosses paths with an all-too familiar face and follows him to Amsterdam.
Notes: Harry drifts across Europe, trying to forget the war. He ends up in a woodworking shop in Amsterdam, alongside a moody Draco. Atmospheric settings and solid characterisation.
I Told You That I Love You (Please Believe Me)
Summary: Roman isn't sure how much longer he can deal with Janus' hatred, so he decides to try and at least ask him why so he knows what he's doing wrong.
Roman knew that Janus didn’t care about him.  He said it so often that Roman had learned how to not react to it.  Sometimes Janus was feeling particularly cruel and said things like “I do, in fact, care deeply for you, Roman.”  Which, of course, since he was Janus, meant that he didn’t care in the slightest.  There had been a time Roman might have assumed he was being genuine.  But that was before he learned that Janus always spoke in lies.
Roman had a tendency to lash out when he was hurt, meaning that more than once he’d responded to these statements with some kind of anger.  But could you blame him?  It  hurts  to be so often told by the person of your affection that you didn’t matter to them.
Because when it came down to it, that was the real problem.  The way that somehow, despite everything, when Roman saw Janus his heart still fluttered.  He still saw the way that Janus cared for those he loved and wanted that for himself.
Janus didn’t care like Patton, where he was constantly checking up on others.  But when a side was reaching their breaking point, Janus stepped in.  He cared for Patton when he was sad, and Remus when he was lonely, and Virgil when he was panicked, and Logan when he was overwhelmed, and Thomas when he was weary.  He was gentle and soft in a way that he almost never was.  Janus stepped in when someone was tired, and couldn’t make it much further on their own.
And Roman was so tired.
But despite Janus slowly becoming more accepted, him fixing his relationship with Patton and Logan and even Virgil, eventually, Roman wasn’t extended that same grace.  He understood.  He’d made so many mistakes.  But understanding why Janus still hated him didn’t make him any less tired.  And didn’t make Janus any less magnificent.
Magnificent enough that Roman had come to expect the way his heart raced when Janus entered a room.  How could he not love Janus when he was so… Janus?
It didn’t really make the renewals of hatred any less painful.  Roman thought it might actually make it worse, since as Virgil had sung about, when you care for someone, not much hurts more than their scorn.
So Roman slowly started to avoid Janus when he could.  It was more difficult than it used to be.  Janus was around, and for some reason, when he spotted Roman alone in a room, he didn’t immediately head the other direction, but instead walked in and sat with him most of the time.  And Roman didn’t  understand.
Why was he here?  Why did he insist on spending time with someone he had no problems admitting that he hated?  It made no sense.
It reached a point where Roman wanted answers, and he couldn’t think of many places better to get them than the person that was causing him these issues in the first place.  So he gathered up his courage to go knock on Janus’ door… and ended up standing in front of it for an hour and a half.
Okay, it probably wasn’t actually that long, but it felt that way.  He thought anxiety was supposed to be Virgil’s thing, but Roman couldn’t seem to get his heart rate to calm down long enough to knock.
He supposed it didn’t really matter in the end, because he was there long enough that eventually Janus opened the door and saw Roman standing there.
“Can I help you?” Janus asked after a long pause.
“Can I ask you something?” Roman said quickly.
Janus raised an eyebrow.  “Sure.  Come on in.  But can we make this quick?  I needed to find Patton.”
“Oh, well then nevermind!” Roman exclaimed, leaping about six paces back.  “I can ask another time, I’m sure that’s much more important!”
Janus blinked at him a couple times, then sighed.  “Okay.”  He walked across the room, took Roman by the arm, and pulled him into his room.  “Clearly you need to talk about this right now.  Come on then, out with it.”  He shut the door behind them both and turned to lean against it, preventing Roman’s escape.
“Oh, no, no, it’s fine!  I’m just being silly, we can do this another time, or never!  Never is good too!” Roman said, trying to ignore both the way his mouth was starting to run away from him and the way Janus was starting to look irritated.  He could do this, he just needed to last long enough to throw this whole thing in the garbage and do it later.  Or never.
“Roman,” Janus said.
“And I don’t want to bother you with something so silly, I mean I—”
“Roman.”
“—don’t need an answer to this right away, it’s such a small thing, it’s not—”
“Roman,” Janus snapped.  “Out with it.”
“Why do you hate me?” Roman blurted, and Janus’ eyes snapped open in shock.  Roman had to resist the very unprincely urge to slap his hand over his mouth.
Janus narrowed his eyes a second later, and Roman wanted to go immediately back into his room and never come out again.
“Roman, what are you talking about?” Janus asked.
“I… I’m sorry,” Roman said, looking away.  “I just… I want to know why you hate me.  Is there any way to make you like me?  Or just forgive me?  Because I’m so sorry.”
“Roman,” Janus said, moving across the room and towards him.  He had that gentle look in his eyes that was reserved for sides he cared about, but that didn’t make any sense.  “Why would you think I hate you?”
“Well— you tell me all the time,” Roman said hesitantly.
Janus stared at him.  “When have I done that?”
“You say you ‘care deeply’ for me.  But you lie all the time, so…”
Janus stared at him for a second longer.  “Are you kidding me?”
“…No?”
Janus gave a short laugh and ran a hand through his hair.  He muttered something that sounded like “Why the hell am I in love with you again?” except for the fact that there was no way that was what he actually said.  A second later, though, he walked across the rest of the space between them and took Roman by the shoulders.
“Roman,” he said.  “Listen to me.  I definitely speak in lies all of the time.”
Roman blinked.  “…Oh.”  He looked down, trying to process that.  “Really?”
“Really.  I thought we covered this already.  And why on earth would I tell you that I hate you to your face so many times?  When the others are around, no less?”
“Why would they care?” Roman mumbled before he could stop himself, and Janus’ hands suddenly lifted off his shoulders.  Roman winced.  Well, he screwed that up.
“Roman,” Janus said again.
Roman managed to drag his gaze up to Janus.  “Yeah?”
“You’ve seen me telling the others I love them, haven’t you? Did you think I was lying to them?”
“Well, no,“ Roman said.  “But that’s different.“
“How is that different?“
“Well they deserve it.“
Janus’ face fell, and Roman’s heart did the same a second later.  “Wait, no,” he stammered.  “I meant— wait, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean—”
“Roman,” Janus cut him off.  “When someone tells you they love you, do you assume they’re lying to you?”
Roman blinked.  “Well, yeah,” he said.  “Obviously.”
For some reason, that just seemed to make Janus more distressed, and Roman didn’t know what he was doing wrong.
“Oh, sweetheart,” Janus said, his hands drifting up to Roman’s face.  They rested on his cheeks, and Roman pulled in a sharp breath.  Janus looked like he was about to cry.
“What… what did I do wrong?” Roman whispered.
“Nothing, sweetheart,” Janus said, pulling Roman into his arms.  Every place their skin connected felt warm, and Roman wondered when the last time he got a hug was.
“You didn’t do anything wrong, Roman,” Janus repeated, which was definitely a lie, because Roman did things wrong all the time.
Janus seemed to pick up on what he wasn’t saying somehow, and shifted to start running his hand through his hair.  “You haven’t done anything wrong,” he repeated.  “Or, I suppose, if it helps, you’ve done absolutely everything wrong and I despise you, Roman.”
Roman took a shaky breath.  It felt like it shouldn’t have been easier to believe such if Janus told him like that.  But he decided for right now to let that not matter, and just drank in the warmth Janus was giving him.  They weren’t moving, after all, and it had been such a long time since he had just gotten to exist with someone like this.
“Breathe,” Janus said softly, and Roman realized he was starting to shake.  “It’s okay, Roman, breathe.”
Roman buried his head in Janus’ shoulder and breathed.
“Can I help you?” Janus asked softly.  “How can I help you, Roman?”
“Don’t go,” Roman said, sudden and not very prince-like at all.  “Please don’t go, I— I’m tired.”
“Okay,” Janus said.  “Okay.  I won’t go.  I’m not going anywhere.”
Roman opened his mouth, and nothing came out.  He wasn’t even sure how to ask, but his brain wouldn’t stop screaming at him.
Janus, somehow, seemed to read his mind.  “Roman,” he said, sounding a little exasperated but thankfully not to the least bit angry.  “I’m going to completely abandon you without a single thought as to how it will affect you.  Considering I don’t care about you in the slightest, that will be very easy for me.”
Roman buried his head further in Janus’ shoulder.  “Sorry,” he mumbled.
“It’s not alright,” Janus said.  “I’m very annoyed by it, especially considering how hard it is for me to lie.”
Janus ran his hands through Roman’s hair again.  “Do you want to go lay on my bed, sweetheart?  You said you were tired.”
“Not like that,” Roman protested weakly, except for the fact that he kind of was, and Janus’ bed looked very comfortable, and if it meant Janus would stay…
“If you don’t want to, I’ll force you,” Janus said.  “But if you want to stay, I won’t let you.”
“…Can I?” Roman asked.
“Of course not,” Janus said, leading them over towards the bed.  “I generally find naps in the afternoon to be horrendous after all, and I avoid them at all costs.”
Five minutes later found them both in pajamas bundled under many heating blankets, with Janus still running his fingers through Roman’s hair and Roman definitely not complaining.
“You know,” Janus said quietly.  “We’re definitely not going to have to have a talk about you assuming people are lying to you when they tell you they love you.”
Roman tensed.
“But it absolutely has to happen right now,” Janus continued.  “Especially if you’re not ready.”
Roman was quiet for a minute.  “You really don’t hate me?” he whispered.
Janus simply squeezed him with an extra summoned hand in response.
“Why?”
Janus hummed in thought.  “Do I have reasons for how much I absolutely detest you?  Let’s see, there’s quite a few of them.  Let me think.”
He pulled gently at a knot in Roman’s hair and summoned another hand to gently untangle it.  Roman felt a little bit like he was floating.
“Because you’re incredibly cruel when you’re trying to be kind,” Janus said.  “And you’re so terrible at coming up with ideas and ways to inspire, both yourself and others.  You look terrible when you dress up.  You’re about the least forgiving person I’ve ever met.  And you definitely don’t have this sparkle when you’re excited that’s just infectious.”  Janus gave him a look.  “I’ve seen it so often lately.”
Roman was still too busy catching up on all the compliments Janus just gave him to respond in any way, which was completely unfair, because he was the romantic side, and he should be able to come up with long poetic speeches about the person he… was in love with…
Roman looked up at Janus for a moment, and somehow, Janus seemed to read what he was thinking on his face again.  And then Roman thought maybe he could come up with a speech later, because Janus was suddenly looking very embarrassed and that was much more important.
Roman started to grin.  “You,” he proclaimed happily.  “Like me.”
“Preposterous.”
“You love me,” Roman crooned, because he was starting to feel very in his element, and it was making him much less self-conscious.
“Simply absurd.”
“And I think it would be reasonable to assume,” Roman said with a beaming smile.  “After the way you’ve been behaving, that you’re in love with me.”
“I’ve never heard such a ridiculous statement in my life.”
Roman leaned in and rested his forehead against Janus.’  “Except you’ve been speaking in lies for the past half hour,” he said.  “And I love you too.”
“How many times do I have to explain that I don’t only speak in—” Janus stopped.  “What?”
“I love you too,” Roman said happily.  “I thought that must have been rather clear, with how upset I was that I thought you hated me.”
Janus blinked a couple of times.  “Ludicrous,” he said weakly.
“Can I kiss you?”
Janus responded by leaning in, and Roman soared.
Janus didn’t hate him.  As a matter of fact, for some bizarre reason, Janus seemed to love him back.  And the rest could be worked out with time.  They could talk.  Roman could ask the others if they really weren’t lying when they said they loved him, like Janus seemed to believe.
Roman smiled into the kiss.  Right now, if someone else told him such, he felt like he could believe them with ease.
Meeting the Weasleys | Bill Weasley x Reader
Summary: The reconstitution of the Order of the Phoenix bring Bill back to England to help his family and others fight against Voldemort. Bill takes you along and you meet his family...who has no idea he has a girlfriend
Pairing: Bill Weasley x Reader
Word count: 1880
-
Muggle transport sucked. Especially planes. Fascinating transportation system, but why must they take so long to get to places? Portkeys were much faster.
Usually, when going to his family home, Bill would use a portkey to the Burrow, but as the Weasleys had temporarily moved to the new Order of the Phoenix's headquarters, there was no point going there. There was also no portkey available to Grimmauld Place since it was a secret house.
A plane was the only option.
''You didn't tell your family you wouldn't be coming alone?!''
Bill slung his satchel bag over his shoulder, thankful for the extension charm. ''Erm, no. I wasn't going to announce to them that I have a girlfriend through a letter, it doesn't sound really serious.''
For that, he wasn't wrong.
''We can't just show up together on the doorstep, Bill.''
Suddenly, you started re-evaluating your decision to come to England and think it was a bad idea. It's not like you and Bill were old friends. You had never met his family. What if his mom was angry for not warning her he was bringing his girlfriend? Would this put you on her bad side?
Bill shrugged, seeing no issues. ''Why not? Mom won't mind. She'll be so happy to see me that she'll forget to be mad for not telling her about you. It'll be fine, Y/N.''
As you expected, it didn't go like Bill had planned. He was a fool to think he could trick his mother like that. Molly was furious.
At first, she was confused. Then, she thought Bill had brought a friend to help with the Order - they could always use more wizards and witches on their side. But, when he introduced you as his girlfriend, her mood changed and she started scolding his oldest for not telling her something so important - even swatted his arm with the spoon she was holding. Ouch.
Bill too had been surprised by his mother's reaction, having not been talked to in that tone since his teenage years.
''William Arthur Weasley, how could you do that? You disappear in Egypt for six years and come back with a surprise girlfriend and expect me to not get mad and act as if it's nothing important? How long have you been hiding this from us? I'm your mother, how could you hide this from me?'' her voice boomed through Grimmauld Place. It was like getting a real-life howler. Pretty scary.
Once Mrs. Weasley was finished, she turned to you, her facial expression completely changed, and smiled warmly. ''Sorry about that, dear. Some people have no manners and assumes they can't be scolded after leaving the nest.'' She narrowed her eyes at Bill. ''I'm Molly, Bill's mother...but I'm sure you've caught that already. What's your name?''
''Y/N,'' you introduced. ''I'm sorry for coming unnoticed. I kept telling Bill it wasn't a great idea.''
''Don't feel bad, it's all forgiven.'' The plump woman smiled warmly at you. ''Would you like some biscuits? I just took a batch out of the oven.''
.
After eating some biscuits in the kitchen and chatting a bit with Mrs. Weasley - Bill was trying to be forgiven -, you and Bill took your luggages upstairs and went to put everything away. There weren't a lot of rooms left - a lot of members of the Order had taken residency at Grimmauld Place -, but Mrs. Weasley had kept one for Bill. Ron was supposed to share with him, but now that you were there, Ron was going to have to move rooms. Sorry, Ron.
''I didn't think she would be that angry. If I has known, I-''
''Angry? She was furious, William!'' you interrupted as you entered the bedroom, finding it a complete mess. There was a trunk opened in the corner, quidditch magazines and wrappers on the nightstand, and dirty clothes everywhere. Bill's little brother was a messy person.
With a few whisks of his wand, Bill gathered Ron's stuff and put everything in his trunk - dirty or not - to make room for yours. In the end, the trunk struggled to fit everything, but with a little bit of magic, everything was possible. It might explode when Ron will open it, but it wouldn't be your problem then.
''I guess I overestimated myself.''
You started with your clothes, folding them neatly in the chest drawers and hung the jackets in the small wardrobe. There was an old smell floating in the room, but it was inevitable in a house this old.
While you did that, Bill reached for the toiletries items, frowning confusedly when he saw how many bottles of who-knows-what you had brought. What were they all for? Did you really need all of those?
''I...I thought she was going to hate] me because of that,'' you admitted, genuinely scared you were going to be one of those girlfriends that's hated by her future in-laws. All because Bill omitted to tell his mother about you.
Bill huffed a short laugh, but seeing how you were genuinely worried of so, he turned into a serious face and he came up to you, wrapping his arms around you from behind. ''That's very unlikely,'' he said, turning you around in his hold and tilting your chin up. ''My mom has no hatred in her body - except for the ones who harm her children. I promise she doesn't hate you.'' Bill kissed your temple, but his speech didn't convince you completely.
''Well, she was yelling. To me, yelling is not something positive.''
''At me. She was yelling at me,'' he corrected. ''But then, she offered you biscuits, didn't she?''
''She did.''
Food was how Molly showed affection and care. She loved to cook all sorts of meals and desserts to feed the ones she loved. If you were particularly kind with her, she might cook your favorite dish at supper.
''Let's finish unpacking so I can introduce you to the rest of the family.''
You nodded and slipped out of your boyfriend's hold. Hopefully it'll go better, this time.
.
When you left the bedroom, you ran into two boys of the same height and physique, which you recognized as the infamous twins. Bill had told you about all members of his family on the plane journey, but telling apart who was who was another story though.
They both hugged their brother - who was almost as tall as them -, having not seen each other in a while and, when Bill introduced you, they looked shocked.
''Girlfriend?'' Fred repeated, sounding surprised. He glanced at you mischievously. ''Have you slipped him a love potion?''
It was all jokes, but you didn't know their humor so you took him seriously.
''Excuse me?'' You were offended that they could think you did something like that. Slipping someone a love potion was vile and immoral. Plus, love potions only created infatuation, not love.
Beside you, Bill rolled his eyes and laughed lightly, which told you they were only joking. ''Is it that difficult to believe that I got a girlfriend? Last time I heard, you all agreed I was the coolest brother of the lot.''
''The coolest, perhaps, but not the most skilled in the flirting departement,'' Fred teased. ''I think I deserve that title.''
''It's just, our brother never brought a girl home before,'' George explained to you, feeling sorry for the misunderstanding. ''How did mom take it? Her oldest son taking a girl home, she must've been emotional.''
''She was thrilled-''
Thrilled wasn't the word you would've employed.
''He's lying. She hit him with a spoon,'' you corrected.
Bill nudged you. ''Y/N! You're supposed to be on my side.''
You shrugged.
''A spoon?'' Fred and George chorused. ''I thought it was only us who got the spoon.''
.
Next was Ginny and Ron, which you met at the dinner table.
Although she was the youngest, Ginny was the closest to Bill. There was a special bond between the two that made you smile fondly.
Farther into the kitchen, another ginger haired boy stood on his mother's heels, trying to steal something to eat. Upon hearing Bill's voice, he turned and joined his sister, but didn't fail to give you a confused look, having never seen you before. If he had, he would've remembered.
''Who are you?'' He took a bite of the bread he stole and Ginny elbowed him for being rude.
In response to Ron's question, Bill slid an arm behind you, grin on his lips and raised his eyebrows, waiting for his siblings to catch on. Since knowing him, you had learned that the eldest Weasley didn't like to make a big deal out of any news - counting having a girlfriend.
It didn't take long for a wide smile to spread on Ginny's face. ''Oh my Godrick! I was not expecting this when you said you were coming home. I'm so happy for you,'' she told Bill and then turned to you and introduced herself - although you already knew her name - and kindly asked for yours. ''Finally, I will no longer be the only girl among those boys. Why have you kept her a secret?''
''I did not-''
Ginny gave her brother a look. ''You didn't tell us. It's the same thing.''
''Maybe he didn't want you to steal her from him,'' Ron joked, making fun of his sister's excitement.
Ginny glared at him, about to say something back, but before she could, Molly called out that dinner was ready. A loud crack echoed and Fred and George aparated in the kitchen, sneaking on Molly and making her yelp.
''Just because you're allowed to do that doesn't mean you-''
''Do you need help, Mrs. Weasley?'' you offered.
Although Bill had promised his mother didn't hate you, being helpful would surely get you on her good side.
Molly smiled at you, thankful for the help. ''That would be very appreciated, dear. You take the soup and bread to the table. Don't forget to place a cloth underneath the stockpot or else it'll burn the wood of the table.''
You nodded and got to business.
While you were helping Molly, two men arrived in the kitchen. One of them had dark curly hair and the other had a walking stick. They introduced themself as Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. You had heard of the former in the newspaper, but didn't dare ask questions. You simply smiled at him politely.
''Where are the others?'' you asked Bill when you sat down beside him, looking at the kitchen's entrance thinking two more Weasleys would come in. ''I thought you had five brothers.''
''Charlie is in Romania working with dragons and Percy,'' Ginny paused, glancing at their mom in the kitchen, taking something out of the oven. ''He doesn't live with us anymore.''
Ginny didn't need to say more for you to sense that Percy was a sensitive subject for the family. Especially to Molly. You felt like there was more to it than him moving out, but didn't dare ask as it wasn't your businesses.
Thankfully, the subject was dropped fast enough and Ron and Fred started arguing about who would get the ladle first, only for Ginny to roll her eyes and take it before them. Once she was done, she gave it to you to purposely annoy her brothers, which got a complaint from Ron.
''It was my turn!''
Chapter 20: Little Lion Man
━━━━━━━━━༻✩༺━━━━━━━━━
When Regulus was younger, his aunt Andromeda and Sirius were obsessed with Muggle stories. Andromeda would send them loads of books every month to the local Muggle post office to prevent their parents from confiscating them. He remembers the ten minute walks there and back, Sirius holding his hand tight, even stopping to buy ice cream during the warmer seasons. They would greet the delivery men and women, picking up a heavy stack of wrapped books before waddling out, each boy mirroring a large grin.
Every night at twilight, when their parents were asleep, Sirius would crawl into his bed and read to Regulus in a hushed voice. He would read a different story every night, lulling him to sleep. Sirius spent hours gushing about the fantastical tales Muggles wrote; how magical and mystical their minds were despite not having an ounce of magical blood. From Superman to Batman, the Joker to Daleks, Prince Caspian to King Miraz; Regulus quickly learned that they all had one common theme: the good guys and the bad guys.
Regulus often spent his time grappling with the notion; what made someone good? Because the definition changes depending on the person.
Were the good guys good because they were selfless — passionate? Those deemed good never let themselves be seen as selfish. The heroes would sacrifice themselves for the greater good, even going as far as giving up their loved ones. Or maybe it was because they went against the odds. But villains did that too.
So he re-worded the question; what made someone bad? Was it their selfishness or greed? Was it putting themselves above others? Did they know they were on the wrong side of history? Make a mistake, once, twice — but surely, that didn’t make someone bad. Did it?
If virtue is understood by both sides, then the bad guys would immediately cross that line time and time again. They lacked wisdom and truthfulness, filled with too much pride and vanity.
But now as he began to grow up far too quickly for a fourteen-year-old boy, he realized that there was more to people than just being good or evil, a saviour or tormentor, light versus darkness.
The definition of good and bad depended on who told the story and Regulus didn’t know who controlled his; him or his parents. The line was so blurred that he couldn’t objectively make the decision himself anymore. Was he more bad than good?
Laughter — rich and inviting beckoned throughout the library, snapping him out of his thoughts again; but it did nothing but chip away at his heart. Regulus got up, shoving his books and parchment into his bag, making sure to hide his face before they saw him. Today, the Marauders had come earlier than expected and he was caught off guard. He’d been doing everything to avoid them out of pure shame.
Before he went to turn, he eyed Sirius from the shadows. He smiled, carefree and happy, clinging onto Pettigrew, ruffling his hair like he once did to him.
What made them so special, so loved and cherished by Sirius? How were they able to make him laugh so effortlessly, able to brighten his day with a mere glance? What made them more of a family than he ever was to him?
But he knew, it was their family’s values and it had been taunting him every waking moment.
It’s not like he didn’t want to escape that night, but he wasn’t Sirius. He was never as bright or strong or as good as him. Sirius was bold and courageous and certainly had more bravery than he would ever have. Regulus was far too weak, a puppet for his parents to control. Sirius was everything Regulus was too afraid to be — a reminder of what he could have turned into.
Besides, there wasn’t a single doubt in his mind that his parents would have killed Kreacher had he left. And this way with Sirius gone, it left Regulus to be the sole heir. Sirius was free, not being hunted down by his parents now that he bore the title. That was his gift to him, freeing Sirius of all the responsibilities, pain and grief. He owed him that much. Besides, Regulus had already mourned the childhood he never had; that made everything easier.
The day Sirius left was the day before they were set to leave for Hogwarts again and the impact of his absence was massive. He no longer heard the thumping of loud Muggle music nor the clanking of piano keys or doors slamming shut. There wasn’t any screaming aside from his parents shrieking at him for taking his father's wand. The stairs creaked; he could even hear Kreacher padding his way to his room.
It was eerily quiet and lifeless in that damned house, and he was only gone for a day.
Regulus hadn’t been taking it well. Nearly every night, his face was pressed into a pillow muffling his sobs. Sirius had kept his promise, he hadn’t talked to him since.
If only he had a scarlet tie…
Ha! He could laugh; he’d been trying to get his attention in little ways. He’d even gone as far as growing out his hair to match his — coping by writing letters every night with words he wished he could’ve said before storing them in a box under his bed. Forever unsent. Hell, Regulus was a coward, every bit as pathetic as Sirius deemed.
Ever the winter break, his parents were relentless, dumping everything that was meant for Sirius onto him. Letters were sent daily; there were talks about an arranged marriage, lumps of money now being transferred under his name, getting the dark mark… and he was being watched. Every interaction he had, his parents always knew. Especially with Muggleborns; he had to limit his interactions with them to almost nothing, or it wouldn’t end well for either.
His mind reeled back to that night, where his parents and extended family toyed with that blonde Muggle, leaving her half-dead on the dining table, the image branded in his head. It made him sick just thinking about it, he never knew what happened to her, he was too busy trying to muffle out her screams.
Regulus had been questioning everything he was taught. Sirius’ words echoed in his head; was he willing to kill Muggleborns solely because of their blood status? He's a believer in old values and traditions: yes, blood should be kept pure, but to kill Muggles… that was completely different. He’d seen how his dearly beloved aunt was burned off the tapestry, threatened and almost killed for marrying a Muggleborn — a Muggleborn who he’s met and liked and respected. His family tortured them for the sake of it and more. That wasn’t the move of someone good, those were the actions of someone evil; filled with greed, spite and selfishness. But how was he going to stop a whole bloodline from their mania?
Some may call it obedience, the way he’s listened to his parents all these years blindly, but to him, it’s respect. But did he believe that? Did they deserve to be respected? He was miserable and this wasn’t a healthy way to show filial piety.
What did he believe in?
Perhaps there wasn’t such a thing, good or evil, maybe there was only power.
Regulus was lost and confused and most of all, lonely. He remembered Sirius promised him once, before the day he was set to leave for Hogwarts for the first time, that he would never be alone. What a funny thing, promises.
Tears were forming fast and if he didn’t leave then, they would fall any second now. He needed to get out of the library.
Regulus asked himself again; what made someone good or bad — or rather, was he good or bad? He’s veering towards bad.
After catching word from Mary that Remus’ birthday was approaching, Y/N had been knitting him a sweater in her spare time (or trying to). It was sweet, simple and showed that she’d put effort into it, especially since he taught her. Although, the sweater was lopsided and she hadn’t quite gotten the hang of a certain stitch or how to close sections. Perhaps she should use magic.
Her fingers fiddled with the needle, looping the yarn over the other side. Without looking up, she made a sharp turn into the library before crashing into a hunched-over figure; sniffling and a complete mess.
An apology dangled from her lips before recognizing the figure as Regulus. It had been two months since she’d last seen him and in short, he looked like shit. His skin was grey and lost all sense of a youthful dewy glow. If Sirius had dark eye circles or Remus looked tired, Regulus beat them by miles.
Y/N stood there awkwardly, unsure of what to do before gently patting his shoulder. “Regulus?” She asked softly, nothing more than a whisper.
There was a flash of pure terror as he looked up, his eyes nervous as his head spun around to look around the place like he always did. He looked mad, almost unhinged as his hands gently pushed her away, signalling for her to leave. “I — I can’t be seen around you.”
“Can’t? What are you going on abo —” She cut herself off, ignoring the matter entirely. He clearly wasn’t in the right mindset.
His voice was strained, quiet as he kept on murmuring, he almost sounded angry. “You can’t — we’ll both get in trouble. Y/N, go — please… ”
At this, Y/N felt her skin rise in small goosebumps. She looked back to the library, just making out her friend’s figures before looking down at Regulus again. She wasn’t going to leave him like this: crying and delusional.
She took a deep inhale before bending down, picking up her needles and yarn off the ground and slipped them into her bag. She placed a cautious arm around Regulus to keep him upright. “Come with me.” But Regulus wouldn’t budge, not until she flicked down her hood, obscuring her face.
She led him up to the astronomy tower, walking and twisting around before setting him down on a nearby bench, making sure to lock any entrances. They sat in silence, aside from Regulus attempting to regulate his breathing. The cold whipping wind tossed his hair and sank into her bones. With a few charms, they were both warm again, but still able to breathe in the crisp air.
He remained quiet. Y/N didn’t push. Instead, she began babbling softly about random things to distract him. When she heard a sharp exhale of air, mimicking a half-hearted chuckle was when she knew he had calmed down.
“Thank you,” he muttered. It’s quiet, barely above a whisper. Regulus’ cheeks were pink, colour finally returning to him from either embarrassment or the cold.
“Any time,” she smiled warmly. Her hand reaches into her bag, fishing out the snacks that were meant for the study group: blackberries that were for Remus, a muffin for Marlene, were now shared between them. She tried to encourage him to eat, to regain any sort of energy.
He listened without complaint, a tense yet thankful air engulfed them. It was only until he finished the food, about an hour gone by, was when he spoke again. “Why are you being so nice to me.” It’s not even a question, just an odd accusation.
She thinks for a while, searching for the best answer. “I wished someone was there for me when I was going through a hard time.”
“But you don’t know me.”
Her eyebrows raised, “Well, let’s get to know each other then. I’ll tell you something about myself and then you can go?”
Regulus looked up at her with a calculated expression, cautious and looked uncomfortable but he nodded.
“Let’s start simple. I have an owl named Celeste.”
He gulped, looking back to the entrance. His answer came delayed, strained and she wondered if she had pushed him too far. “I play the violin.”
Y/N smiled largely. “The violin is beautiful! Hmm… I can’t ride a broomstick to save my life, unlike you.”
At this, he smiles — a real genuine smile that causes his eyes to crinkle and sparkle. “Really?” His eyes burned with curiosity before he looked down, “I can’t swim.”
“Swim?” She repeats, chuckling to herself, “Who doesn’t know how to swim?”
“You’re making me feel grand. Terribly uncalled for.”
Her eyes rolled, “You should learn. It can save your life one day. Who wants to drown?”
“Maybe I’ll ask McGonagall — I heard for tougher punishments she’ll throw you into the black lake.”
“You’re the perfect candidate then.”
After a while, way past curfew, Regulus seemed cheerier; his tear-stained cheeks now replaced with a smile and relaxation. That day, Y/N unaware, was a day Regulus would never forget.
March 8th, 1976
“Sirius, shut up.”
“You’re the one yelling!”
“... Right.”
Excused from their afternoon classes because their Puffskein was about to hatch, the Marauder’s dorm was bustling with panic and bickering. When Y/N partnered with Sirius for their project, she expected fighting (which happened every day) but not for Sirius to be like this. He’d been running around the dorm, grabbing warm towels, bowls of water and taking out his panic on her. He gripped his textbook, flicking through notes to see if they had everything. It was as if he was preparing for the birth of an actual baby.
She silently watched him, her mind thinking about Regulus rather than their project. This was the only time she and Sirius were alone and wondered if she should mention his freakout the other day but stopped — it didn’t take a genius to know they weren’t on friendly terms.
Since that night, she’d seen Regulus almost daily, but only at night before their study group. She would spend an hour or so with him before the Marauder or girls came barraging in; Regulus left before they appeared. The entire situation left her deeply confused, worried and most of all, suspicious.
“We need Kettleburn —”
Annoyance began nipping at her. “Calm down.”
“I’m not going to calm down!”
Sirius paced, both firing snide jabs. Too preoccupied in his panicked state, he didn’t hear the quiet cracking of the white shell, forming the shape of a lightning bolt before cascading over.
“Um, Black?”
“Let’s not start. How are you so —”
“Get your ass over here now!”
Sirius pressed his lips together immediately and rushed over, both huddled side by side near the roaring fireplace. The shell twitched, cracking more and they both gasped in amazement. The process was faster than either expected as they saw the small tuft of cream fur peek out along with a pair of black eyes. Its long pink tongue slipped out, already looking for its first meal. Y/N scrambled to grab a nearby dish of dried spiders to feed it while Sirius cradled it in his hand. His smile was wide, buzzing with excitement as he observed it. His hands gently glided over the soft fur as it emitted a low humming sound.
A deep chuckle erupts from Sirius and she could feel the vibrations from how close they were. His laugh, which once made her cringe, now made her skin feel fuzzy and heart flutter. But, it wasn’t like that, she thinks. Of course not! She still wants to jinx him, maybe even throw him into the fireplace. Yes, that’s it.
She snaps out of her violent thoughts when she finds Sirius already looking at her, a pretty flush to his skin as he observes her softly. Her brows crinkled; instead of a frown or on the cusp on an insult, he smiles.
“Do you want to hold it?” Y/N nods eagerly. Sirius shifts his body, placing the Puffskein in the palms of her hands. It’s incredibly soft, adorable and when it leans into her, falling asleep, she swore she fell in love.
“What do you want to name it?” She mumbled, afraid that if she were any louder it might wake it up. Sirius takes a long time to ponder and Y/N braces herself for an insult, already thinking of a plethora of her own.
“It looks like porridge… Oatmeal!”
“Are you serious?”
“I’d be worried if I wasn’t.”
Y/N tries to suppress her smile but fails. The Puffskein did look like a grain of oatmeal. Plain and simple, she liked it.
“Hello, Oats! You’re so cute — I could just eat you up!”
“Morbid much.”
Hours went by before they ultimately decided to head down to Kettleburn’s office for an examination of Oats’ health. Sirius cradled it in a small blanket, shielding it from the rest of the world. Marlene and Dorcas were standing by the sidelines, joining them as they walked past.
“Yours hatched already? Aw, it looks so cute!” Dorcas squealed. Her hands reached out, giddy as Sirius gently placed it into her arms but not without fretting. Marlene only looked down at her with a soft gaze, her face becoming pink as she wrapped an arm around her.
“Give it a rest. She’s not going to drop it.”
“Now you, McKinnon?! I’m a father now! Our kid deserves the best care! Right, L/N?”
It catches her off guard. Sirius trying to include her in a conversation? That’s a new milestone. “Of course; the proudest parents.”
Once done with Kettleburn, Sirius went to bring Oats back to his dorm, parting as Y/N went to find Lily who took her notes for her afternoon classes.
Out in the courtyard, walking around in the snow, both Lily and Snape wandered around before she picked up a snowball, throwing it at him. Snape sent her a deadpanned look as Lily kept hurling snowballs. Most missed him, others hit him before he retaliated and threw some back.
Y/N halted, watching the scene play out and debated whether or not to approach them. But decided to, shouting while striding up to them.
“Petals!”
Lily’s smile grew before her head whipped to her. She stopped her snowball fight, getting up to bounce her way over to her. Snape followed in suit, but as Lily began to babble on and on about what she missed, Snape’s eyes bore into her, vice versa.
“I’ll see you later, Sevy! We need to go,” said Lily, already turning to walk away. Y/N lingered back a pause, just enough to see Snape draw his wand and shoot a spell at her. She had just enough time to block it. Whatever spell it was, it sparkled like a firecracker. If Snape could easily send a hex or jinx her way inboard daylight with Lily just a little ahead, what was he willing to do had they been alone.
His angel persona around her was dropping quickly.
“Whiskers!” Shouted Lily. Her arms raised in question. “Get over here!”
A flurry of thoughts bombarded her before she could process them. She was about to cause a scene, yell and scream until that nasty sneer fell off his face until she felt a tug on her arm. Lily hooked her arm around Y/N, pulling her away. But she still had her wand drawn, ready to block another spell. She tossed one last look at him; he smiled wickedly.
“Are you okay?”
She had enough tip-toeing around Snape. She remained tranquil, gave him the benefit of the doubt and respected their friendship but that was enough.
“No, I’m not actually,” keeping her tone as soft as possible, trying not to sound defensive, “Why do you waste your time around him?”
Lily paused, her eyes going wide. An offended expression crossed her face as she took a moment to digest the remark. “Sev? What are you getting at?” Her tone was guarded which had Y/N debating whether or not to drop the conversation entirely. A fight with Lily was not on her to-do list.
“I just think you should be careful around him.”
“I can look out for myself,” she grumbled, “Severus has been there for me for years. I know how to separate myself from the wrong sorts.”
“I’m only saying this to look out for —”
“I know, but he isn’t like what you’re thinking.” Lily didn’t look mad, just tired as she nodded sharply. Taking a stack of parchment from her bag, Lily handed it to her and walked faster. “You’re around Potter too much. He isn’t like what he says he is.”
Y/N felt annoyance blossom in her chest at the accusation of James but bit her tongue to avoid more conflict. Right now, they trod on dangerous waters.
Neither spoke to each other for the rest of the day.
