Callum and Rayla marry one or two years after defeating Aaravos/end of Arc 2. Being shunned by her village‚ Callum wants her to have a royal title (it's what she deserves). They have a little ceremony with friends and family at the Moon Nexus and leave for their honeymoon of two years.

Quick Rayllum headcanon for you

Every time they travel and have to sleep in an inn or anywhere that isn't either Katolis Castle or their separate home, instead of having the usual couple thing of "who always has what side of the bed," Callum always takes the side of the bed closest to the door of the inn or wherever they're staying. And that's another way he protects her, making it so if anyone dangerous or if anything bad were to happen, he'd be shielding her from it first and foremost. This also doubles as helping Rayla feel safer and more comfortable in different and unusual environments, having him always being her first defense helps calm her anxieties and makes her sleep easier

My Headcannon After their kiss on the starscraper:

They both giggle after there kiss,they both feel a heavy weight was off lifted of and they both feel at peace

"Rayla"He softly says as he brushes her beautiful hair and cupper her left cheek

"Callum"The Elf softly replies she placed a cheek on his right cheek,they breath heavily nervous on what to do next

"Rayla I have to tell you something"Callum said nervously,The Elf in questions raised eyebrows and has a quizzical look on her face but gestures Callum to continue

"When I did the ritual to find my one truth to purify myself of the darkness within me"Callum said anxiously,Rayla gripped his hands tightly calming him down as she pecks him on the cheek he sighs before continuing"I was Flying and falling repeatedly trying to find my one truth until a light shined brightly in the darkness and it's then I found it"Rayla eyes widened as meets his gazed with hers,her body waits in anticipation,her mind going as fast as a banther

"Rayla your my one truth,your the one filling my darkness with light"He said with absolute truth and softly before he continued as Callum touched foreheads with hers"And I Love you again Rayla just please never leave me again"

Rayla eyes widened in happiness and relief,tears of happiness trickled down from her beautiful eyes

She's realized just now that the human before her is everything to her,she can't lose him just like her parents,and Runaan that's the reason why she left him still fully knowing it would've ended badly

But now she's now come to a new conclusion she was wrong to leave him just because she wanted revenge for what that bastard mage did to her but now it's just an decision drivin by emotions and when she did there was a high chance she was never coming back to him

It's like what Esmeralda Skall said Instead finding treasure duty and glory it's love that is more important not the other way around

Rayla knocked herself out of her thought and instinctively kisses Callum deeply,The kiss filled with relief,joy, Happiness, satisfaction but most importantly love

"Callum"She gets his attention after pulling away from the emotional kiss"I'm so sorry I left I thought I was doing the right thing to hunt Viren down and kill him for good but I was terribly very wrong"she said sadness and regret in her tone,Callum ever so sympathetic person holds her steady and place a hand a shoulder to relieve her for a bit before continuing

"Not only I broke your heart but I also realized something I missed your love, your willingness to stand for me,the willingness to defend someone that your species hated and loathe for a century,I missed all of that but most importantly I would've lost my guiding star that kept lit all this time now I wished I never left and instead stayed with you"Rayla finished with tears coming out of her eyes continuously and she met his gazed the one she misses"And Yes I promise I'm never leaving ever again no matter what happens"

Callum moved foward and brings her into a hug filled with warmth and love

Her dam burst and she cried continuously for about 20 minutes before calming down

She looks back at him again this time their faces inches away from each other

"But Callum I want you to promise that you never use dark magic ever again you promise"She said with resolute and determination

He nods they kissed again and again before realizing they need more deep exploration of one another

Callum and Rayla quietly and silently began lovingly stripped there garments off themselves and and made love on the star hammock to show they will never be broken part ever again

Because they will face Aaravos and his evil plans for good and no matter be there for each other

Rayla’s Concerns, part 1!

Ik tdp fans are frothing at the mouth abt the possibility of Rayla and Callum having kids in the future but I wondered what she’d actually feel when that time came, so this is that

Okay but can you imagine if one day Rayla catches a thief or something at the castle because she's experienced at breaking in and in that awkward silence in the conversation Ezran just goes, "Rayla, would you like a job?"

And Rayla ends up as counter security by repeatedly breaking into and out of the castle and finding weak points, and is halfway to a spymaster, and she has a life direction to go in and can use her assassin training to not kill people, and now she has an official position in the court but by the nature of her job it's better if people don't know about it.

People who don't know: Rayla is in the High Council because she's an elven diplomat

People who think they know: Rayla is in the High Council because she's the High Mage's girlfriend

People who actually know: Rayla is the castle rat

They talk about it eventually, three years after they get married. Three years till Aaravos' return.

"I don't know," Callum admits, his fingers knitted with hers, their bed comfy and cozy. His staff and her blades are propped up against the far wall, as far as they'll ever let them be from reach. "I mean, I want them, but..."

Rayla sighs, brushing back his white streak with her other hand.

I need you to kill me... My heart for Xadia.

He knows she feels the same, even if there's more visible sadness in her eyes. How can they possibly think about bringing a child, or children, into this world when it might end in toddler-hood?

"After, then," Rayla says, even if he's supposed to be the optimist. "When it's all over."

Callum's lips twitch. I believe in you, she'd said on the cliffside overlooking the ocean town. She believes in me, he'd mandated in a dark forest. And she still does. She always will. They'll find a way to defeat Aaravos in a better way, now that they have time. One that lets them stay together. He cups her cheek and brings her in for a kiss. "When it's all over," he agrees.

Because someday it will be, and the next stage of their lives can begin.

What time is it? Another TDP headcanon time!

Maybe you’re familiar with the viral Tumblr post discussing how humans have markings on their skin, mostly only visible under UV light. (It may disappoint you to know that the post was, in fact, wrong about the whole “cats can see it!”)

Unfortunately, there is no way to know which organisms (if any) can see our markings - but that’s the great thing about fantasy! We can throw realism to the wayside when we feel like it

I propose that elves are capable of seeing them, but have no clue that humans can’t also see the markings. This has led to some spectacular moments across the board, particularly with the human-elf couples

AMAYA: Why are you kissing me in these odd patterns? Is this a Sunfire Elf custom again?

JANAI: Wha- no? I’m following your gorgeous pattern! I assumed that is something human lovers do with each other?

AMAYA: Pattern??

JANAI: These stripes remind me so much of sun-striped elk… <3

AMAYA: I have STRIPES???

CALLUM: Wow, I’m so glad I got you to help me make revisions to this old tome about elves. There was so much misinformation that people have spent a century learning!

RAYLA: Yep! We’re not as weird as you humans think we are

And smash cut to a montage of Amaya, Callum, Ezran, and Soren taking turns standing in their underclothes as Janai and Rayla paint over their markings so they can see what they look like to the elves

Firstly, glad to know you love my blog! And I may have a Rayllum headcanon or two up my sleeve...

Something that I mentioned in this post, no matter how long they've been married, Callum still loves to call Rayla his bride, (and despite her annoyed groans, she secretly enjoys it)

Since Callum often works late into the night, researching and such, Rayla is always the one to pull him away from his work, (and eventually starts bringing little Rian along with her. Callum can never say no to both of them)

Ever since learning the Moon Arcanum, Callum loves making little illusions of animals and stars for the kids

Rayla 100% sings that same lullaby to Rian and Alyss (and it melts Callum's heart every time)

Even after Zym pulled off her binding, her wrist is never the same, with the occasional ache that becomes more frequent as she gets older, and Callum always uses a little bit of magic to soothe it

If Rayla and Callum are ever in need of a break, Ezran and Soren will watch the kids for them (Rian and Alyss love their Uncles Ezran and Soren)

Once the kids get older, and start dating, Rayla is the more protective one. Callum is too, but much more easy going. ("What if they run into someone dangerous?" "You mean like when I met you?")

Speaking of being protective (not entirely sure if this counts as a Rayllum headcanon), Stella certainly becomes very attached to Rian and Alyss, playing with them when they're really young and accompanying them around when they're older

Callum loves pressing a kiss to Rayla's wedding and engagement rings on her finger as many times as he can, fitting the gesture in casually as often as possible, reminding her of all the promises he's made to her

Headcanon that after Rayla left, Callum couldn't summon his wings for months. The first time he was able to again was to help Ezran.

Rayllum wedding but the Moonshadow elves have something akin to the bouquet toss where single members are free to attempt to catch an enchanted bouquet that is tossed up and flies around after the reception.

All Soren hears is “toss” and “the one who catches it wins,” and immediately dives for it purely out of competitive spirit. He is accidentally knocking the others over in his attempts.

By the time Rayla and Callum look over after hearing all the commotion he has already done 4 laps around the hall, chaos left in his wake as he determination only gets stronger.

Rayla is throughly amused since usually people will just jump up from their seats to try and catch it rather than chase it down like this, meanwhile Callum is half considering casting a wind spell to just give it to him at this point.

Ezran is cheering him on though telling him “you’ll get it this time!!”

When Callum or Rayla wakes up from a nightmare, the other will read to them until they fall back asleep. Poetry, novels, anything.

They go through a lot of books together.

something something Rayla never called Ethari or Runaan by parental titles in the show but she clearly had just worked through some shit and accepted that that's what they even were at the end of season 6 and through season 7, Runaan was struggling with it too, imagine a few years later when Rayllum is having their first child, and she calls them her parents and Runaan gets taken out at the knees by being called "Dad" and Ethari could cry from being called "Papa" by his own daughter for the first time

I have headcanons for Traditional Katolis and Moonshadow Weddings

Katolis

In many ways a traditional Christian marriage. White dress, Dad walking daughter down the aisle. Some exceptions:

If a man doesn't cry during his wedding it's considered very bad luck, "If a man sheds not a tear at his maiden fair, Dressed in white with flowers rare, Then cursed be the vows they weave, For love unwept is love deceived."

Women must fast for weeks if not a month leading up to the wedding day, something about commitment.

Men can't look at other women for weeks until the marriage is finished, the only exception is the mother. Amaya grants herself the exception.

The one officiating the wedding must blind themselves, Stems from an old legend that an old priest who couldn't find love himself was so angry that he has to officiate weddings that chaos itself helped him and Everytime he gazed upon a woman or man the wedding would end in tragedy.

Having any sort of aches and or pains during the wedding is a seriously bad omen, any type of pain is treated very, very seriously my apothecaries if they know you're getting married. This story is simpler, back before more modern medicines and when a simple infection could kill you.

Gifts are mostly based on profession and class, farmers will be gifted farming equipment, carpenters will be given tools, royals linens and gold. It's becoming more and more of a "Joke" in recent years. 10 people gift the same exact thing knowingly. In a similar vein some people give gifts that are mostly useless, inconvenient or cumbersome and are too noticeable to regift or throw away so someone is stuck with it. It's an act of love.

Katolians tend to invite quite everyone they know, Callum even invited Elmer from Scumport.

It's tradition to have the groom's dad put on his jacket and tie for him, Ezran takes up this task. The groom's mother helps the bride, Ethari and Amaya take up this task.

The bride has to ask for permission to marry him as much as the groom does, if both parents are dead the bride goes to where they are buried and asks for permission. It's common for both bride and groom to debase themselves asking for permission.

It's bad luck to immediately consummate the marriage, Katolians typically give it 7 days. If you can go 7 days without touching your love then it's true love it whatever.

Honeymoons are typically a pretty ridged framework, a couple- especially Royal- can pick between 5 spots. Lodge, Beach House, forest cabin, mountain Lodge, or a boat retrofitted for comfortable living.

Drinks and Food are hearty and plentiful. All types of alcohol but particularly the grooms choice of alcohol and the brides food. They have been known to get quite wild.

Dancing is quite conservative, having a select few songs and dancing is between family or those in a relationship. The groom's father dances with the bride and the bride's mother dances with the groom.

Cakes are huge and intricately decorated. Again becoming a joke in recent years.

Moonshadow

The bride and groom have to hunt each other, this is obviously harder for Callum so he just flies. Not against the rules. Rayla gets him though.

Katolians are shocked at how revealing Moonshadow wedding clothes are, Definitely less conservative than Katolis. Lots of sheer/translucent clothing and exposed skin. Callum nearly faints.

Moonshadow weddings are very small. Family are a given and only very few are invited.

Moonshadow weddings typically happen wherever is beautiful enough, The bride finds a location she likes after a week of searching and her family decorated it properly. Could be a waterfall, Could be a forest, could be a boat. Who knows.

Moonshadow weddings are at night and under a full moon, Explains why Katolis wedding was first.

Consummating the marriage is immediate.

Many couples have a temporary shelter just a little bit off the wedding spot, The couple retreat there after partying. Think of it as a honeymoon. They relax there for days to weeks doing whatever.

Gifts are given more based on need, Clothes to cooking to weapons. Ethari gave Rayla a contract for 10 cribs.

Food and drinks are limited to how many people are there, drinks are typically low in alcohol.

It's common for the bride to engrave a weapon for her husband.

There are no cakes in Moonshadow weddings, just basic food.

Dancing is very free, it's even tradition to dance as seductively as possible for your spouse.

It's common for the bride and groom to consume aphrodisiacs

Personal headcanons

Before the official wedding when Callum sees Rayla he collapsed and Soren catches him, he bursts into tears at the altar.

It got very awkward when Opeli, out of tradition, announced the Father of the groom's dance.

Soren kept giving Callum more and more drinks and he threw up at his own wedding.

Callum ordered a small basic cake but Soren intercepted it and made it supermassive and ornate. They could've had cakes for months.

Ethari liked the idea of a cake at a wedding so much he made one.

Callum absentmindedly invited Claudia and Viren.

Bait and Stella were the ring bearers

Terry helped a lot in crafting Raylas Moonshadow wedding.

Rayla picked under a waterfall for her wedding, unfortunately for her when the full moon came around the mosquitos came out.

Rayla announces she's pregnant only weeks after the marriage.

Callum getting involved with city planning for Evrkynd, not only because he's travelling and studying a plethora of elven architecture in his free time while studying magic, and they want an intercultural influence, nor only as a favour to Ez (who's rebuilding Katolis at the same time) or because his penchant for art makes him good at drawing complex plans and designing buildings, but also because it gives him sway or leeway over where things go. He makes sure the city's academy of magic is close to and past the sparring fields (so he can walk and drop Rayla off on his way to his students); he makes sure they get the top floor of a flat building for the breeze he loves coming through Moonshadow-styled windows; he makes sure the city park has gardens full of her favourite flowers. He designs houses and buildings and city streets and walkways so each one will feel like home for them, because it is. Because you can create in the name of love just as much, if not more, than you can destroy.
