Can you imagine Rayla being told a princess is expected to wear a dress by Opeli

(First of all Rayla realizing she's a princess is another topic that I find awesome)

And obviously laughs it off but Opeli doesn't take it seriously and drags her to a tailor, Rayla fights Opeli at every turn refusing to wear a dress but Opeli has years upon years dealing with the Royals stubbornness (and childishness) and is just not giving in.

It even goes as far as childish antics. Rayla hiding from Opeli, Opeli sneak dissing her in speeches, Rayla sneaking in color clothes to her white laundry, Opeli convincing all the girls of the castle to talk about how wondrous and good dresses are whenever Rayla is around. Everyone in the castle doesn't stop it because it's just funny to see it all happen.

Eventually Opeli's resolve beats out Raylas and Rayla agrees to wear a dress at official gathering and as Opeli is fitting her for a dress she admits Battling with Rayla is the most fun she's had at work.

I'm . . . ngl I have no idea what to do for the next chapter of Different Path Taken. I want to do Moon Nexus fluff and actually explore some of the time before Soren and Claudia catch up, but like . . . I want the next chapter to be pretty chill and wholesome, give the heavy stuff a break, but I got nothing. Currently the only plot bunnies I have running around are: a conversation between Callum and Lujanne and then Ram (about magic and dreams). Another one between Callum and Skor (what happened with Amaya). Another one between Ezran and Runaan (grief and the difference between losing each parent). Beyond that ???? until the magekids catch up, and then there's some Entertainment planned for their interactions with Soren and some Drama with Claudia.

i love it when characters are unfair, actually. i love it when they’re uncouth and cranky and hypocritical, i love it when they have cognitive dissonances, i love it when they make good and bad choices for the wrong reasons. i love when they’re short to anger and hard to understand. i love it when they’ve destroyed themselves for nothing but can’t even see either part of it yet. i love it when they’re messy and selfish and bad at communicating. i love it when they get convinced of their own ego and stuck in a feedback loop regarding their own warped paranoia. i love it when characters actively make their lives unknowingly harder for themselves. i love it when characters don’t know they’re in a story. i love it when characters are like real people
