I saw somewhere, that someone said Zym's relevance was lost, and so the name "The Dragon Prince" really isn't fitting anymore.

But the name is the Dragon Prince, not Azymondias.

And what other dragon prince do we know?

Sol Regum. Anak Arow. The Dragon Prince who exposed a young Startouch elf for helping humans, causing her death, pushing Aaravos into the dark, twisted path of vengeance, damning the world. The Sun King, who despised humans with a passion, believed they were lower beings, the Archdragon represented the darker side of Xadia, the side that Claudia and Viren saw, causing them to reach out for dark magic.

The dragon who started it all. The dragon, so lost in his prejudice against humans, he dragged a whole world into darkness.

And in complete contrast, you have Azymondias, whose birth itself represents the bond between humans and Xadians, the dragon who has befriended humans and would lay down his life for some of them (Ezran, Callum, even Soren). He is the Dragon Prince that will lead Xadia to a better future, away from the downfall Sol Regum wrecked on them millennia ago.

The Dragon Prince that let the world slip into hell. And the Dragon Prince that will guide the world back to heaven.

Some stuff I gathered from the Watch Party as the creators answered fan questions:

- Inverting the nexus wouldn’t bring Leola back. Startouch council essentially ended her existence and Aaron doesn’t believe there’s a way to bring her back (plus Aaravos would’ve done so already)

- The Jailer was a unique dark mage who specialized in prisons and puzzles

- Tiadrin and Lain are not likely to appear in TDK, they have passed on and are happy together

- They want to work on an art book for Mystery of Aaravos (arc 2)

- Confirmation that ‘Pip and the King’ was always the plan since the beginning

- Apparently the white streak from practicing dark magic is “un-dye-able” (unsure if this was a joke)

- Someone asked about the crying baby in the teaser, and Aaron said ‘sparkly baby poop is all I’m going to say’… also unclear if he was joking 🫩

- Aaron imagines something elaborate must’ve happened when the quasar diamond was switched in the staff, like a heist

Q: Does the dragang find Aaravos’ book?

A: Great question, I will not answer it.

We will see more of the following people and/or events in TDK

- Rayllum content of course!

- More Kim’Dael

- Astrid and Celestial elves

- Startouch elves

- More Ruthari (“if they survive,” Aaron joked)

- Aaravos/Callum interactions

- Queen Aanya

- Miyana and the twins, Janai/ the lineage for the sunfire monarchy

- More relationships between humans and elves

- We are likely to meet someone ancient who has kept themselves alive though the dark practice of self-eating

- We will see more Elarion; Aaron compared the ruins to the Chernobyl disaster

- Zym’s power has grown

- Stella has been trouble as usual!

Likely to be in tdk, but no official guarantee:

- The Jailer’s descendants and their fates

- Humans will be able to do primal magic

- Claudia could potentially have a new love interest, again nothing guaranteed

- They want to figure out a better explanation for Ezran’s ability to talk to animals, rather than just ‘empathy’

I’m honestly so fond of the idea that Zym could talk the whole time (s4 onwards) and was just shy/didn’t want to/didn’t feel ready to share like c’mon, Zym’s cheeky, goofy ass little “yeah. this is what I sound like :D” is so endearingly in line with him having worked himself up to it like this is not the first time this kid has ever spoken, but it is him enjoying surprising his brothers with it and being cheeky about it. There’s also just something about the idea that Zubeia and Ibis knew he could talk if he wanted to but weren’t pressuring him to do so if he wasn’t feeling like it/wasn’t ready/just wasn’t ready to share it with the others that is just so precious to me
