random thought, i just know Kenma is a really good negotiator in the laziest way possible. like, for car and house prices, he's getting the price he wants. Most of the time he doesn't care too much since he only looks for things in his price range anyway (and his price range is pretty large) but I also get the vibes that he just will not pay a price if he thinks it's ridiculous even if he can afford it. and I know his friends are calling his ass up for help when buying a new car or something, except Kuroo since he became a slimy little promoter himself so he can handle slimy salesman. Kenma just would have that mad slouch he's got and that bored ass expression and it makes the salesperson realize they are not going to get anywhere with him.

and if you ever need help with negotiating??? Kenma is locked in. He doesn't show it or look it, but you call him and tell him your looking at this new car that you really want but it's in the high point of your price range and you would love to get it down by at least a few thousand, he's complaining but then showing up to the dealership with you in his hoody and sweatpants. you trying to buy a property for some business you wanna start and the owners are playing hardball even though there are clear issues with the property that warrant a dock in price??? Kenma is making you buy him a two-pack of energy drinks on the way to the negotiations. He ends up getting the price down way more than you anticipated, or even wanted, in the first place because Kenma might be lazy, and hate doing unnecessary things, and might hate doing things he has zero interest in, but he hates losing even more. and he has an interest in you so it all evens out.

Now that I think about it, doesn't Alberu have like, a bunch of brothers and sisters? Then like, Zed had a lot of partners, though I suppose he only officially married the third prince's mother and the rest are concubines like Alberu's mother. So like, didn't Zed kill his siblings in the fight for throne? Or was it in another story? Did he like, ever think that his successor might choose his path and kill the rest of his kids and perhaps his own father too to sit on the throne?

And this third prince whom Zed favored, I was like, dying to know his name in the beginning. And Alberu's mothers name too. Then I just went like, if the third prince's name was like something long, complicated and hard to pronounce, wouldn't it be hilarious. I can imagine Cale's and Choi Han's reaction when they hear the name for the first time. Cake would just give up cuz it's too hard to say and he couldn't be bothered lol.

Back to the Crossman family. There are so many members there. Like damn. Wouldn't the tea within the family be quite juicy? Like, I can imagine all the family drama behind the doors? The public might not be aware of it, because they like to keep a good image and all. But I am very curious of all the sh*t happening within the palace. I've always thought about it from the day I've heard Zed have multiple kids from multiple women. When Cale hears all the drama, he'd be like, damn, I was right in thinking that nothing would do good if I get involved with you. Now that we have more info and access, let's talk about Quackity's tools shall we...

On day one, Quackity brings a pair of unenchanted shears and Sam gives him WARDENS WILL and WARDENS HAMMER as well as some item frames (which as an aside I’ve always thought is such an unhinged inclusion…).

Thus completing the trifecta of torture tools that we see in the montage later [clip]. :]

But we also know that it doesn’t end there, because in the other 2 visits we get to see he actually doesn’t even use Sam weapons (besides WARDENS TORMENT), so we know there are other undefined tools, which is why it’s so exciting to now be able to see inside chests and inventories because now we can analyze and speculate to kinda determine what those tools might have been and their enchantments (and perhaps the implications of their enchantments)…

So, for starters, in that same montage it also shows Quackity grabbing tools from a room and throwing them on the floor [seen below], which ends up being what looks like 3 neitherite axes, 3 netherite swords, and 1 pair of shears, likely implying that multiple weapons of the same type were also used (further supported by the fact that we see him use both WARDENS HAMMER and a netherite axe with low durability). Tragically, this storage room stocked with netherite weapons doesn’t exist on the map [post] :( so instead I’m gonna determine what I think are the most likely candidates from the chests in the prison, Las Nevdas, Quackity’s inventory and Sam’s inventory.

Now I’m gonna assume that 1 of the 3 axes thrown on the ground and 1 of the 3 swords are WARDENS HAMMER and WARDENS WILL, because there are not enough reasonable or qualifying sword or axe options in the locations we have to look at (this of course all based on the assumption that they aren’t in this storage room on the other map they filmed it on or didn’t have Mending and broke).

The second axe dropped I’m gonna say is the one with low durability seen in both the streams where he tries to get Dream to write the letter and the one with Techno later, which matches the one in Quackity’s ender chest with Efficiency V and mending. This axe is pretty interesting for the fact that is does not have sharpness on it, perhaps that is because that does too much damage. It’s low durability makes a lot of sense based on the lack of Unbreaking, and the Mending actually confirms what I had already theorized based off of the bottles of enchanting in his inventory when he visits rivals duo, which certainly has some implications about how much he used this axe to the point he needed to mend it mid session…

After the 2 axes, we see a sword and again I’m gonna just say this is WARDENS WILL. The last axe I’m gonna say is most likely the one in Quackity’s inventory with Efficiency V, Fortune III, Mending, Sharpness V, Unbreaking III. This one has much more durability, perhaps because of the Unbreaking or because we don’t see it in the visits we get, maybe because it has Sharpness V he doesn’t use it as much.

The second sword I’m gonna say is also one from his inventory called SPIDER MASTER 2000 with Bane of Arthropods V, Fire Aspect, Unbreaking III, and Mending. Based on the name and Arthropods, this sword was likely made for the purpose of farming xp in the spider farm, but I’d say it’s not unreasonable to think Quackity used it for other things too. Makes me wonder if that Athropods enchantment has any strange effect on a person. And don’t even get me started on the Fire Aspect. :]

The third sword I’m gonna say is this one in a chest in the prison with Knockback II, Looting III, Mending, Sharpness V, Sweeping Edge III, and Unbreaking III, for 2 reasons 1) the chest it is in includes building items such as Quartz and Smooth Stone [highlighted in yellow] which are not present in the prison but are in multiple areas of Las Nevadas and 2) It has full durability, but has Mending to explain that unlike the other nethrite swords in the prison (minus the Guard Sword, which I doubt he let Q use) and Sam’s inventory, all with high durability. Perhaps we could make up some reason like perhaps using the Sweeping Edge or Knockback to explain the full durability and why it’s in a chest in the prison. Perhaps it is Sam’s sword but Quackity was miss using it or the enchantments on it made it too dangerous or something, so Sam made him heal it and return it. Maybe that’s why he stops giving Quackity his Warden weapons too… who knows.

Then we see a pair of unenchanted shears, which we see him have in his first visit and the one with rivals duo. Given that shears’ durability doesn’t last long in general and that these are unenchanted, it’s probably reasonable to say that he perhaps broke and brought multiple pairs of unenchanted shears, so to pin down the specific pair isn’t great, but we do see a pair in a hidden chest under the Needle in Las Nevadas (and irl wise it’s not like they did 80 scenes of torture so this could technically be the pair from the rivals duo stream (and maybe even the first visit)). Especially since it also has a pair of iron pants and an enchanted diamond sword like we see in his inventory during that stream. An enchanted diamond sword also appears in the letter visit and I’m gonna say they are both this sword with Sharpness I. It has higher durability than the one seen in the rivals visit, but perhaps he healed it with a diamond or something. This diamond sword is pretty interesting in the fact that it isn’t netherite like the ones shown in the montage, so it also than does less damage, even more so due to the minimum enchantments. Perhaps that’s what makes it such a good option for torture as it doesn’t do too much damage and kill Dream on accident.

During the rivals duo visit, we also see WARDENS TORMENT which to my suprise only has Unbreaking III not Mending. We also see an unenchanted diamond pickaxe. Now we could say he only brought the pickaxe with the purpose of getting his revenge or we could take it as a sign that he used pickaxes too outside of just shears, swords and axes. After all, WARDENS WILL BREAKER is the name of Sam’s pickaxe, so surely it was used when trying to break Dream’s will (and if that then perhaps the netherite pickaxe in Quackity’s inventory as well).

Furthermore, when Quackity runs into George outside the prison, we see him carrying an enchanted diamond pickaxe likely the same one in his inventory with Fortune II and Unbreaking III, which I’d say can be reasonably assumed to have been used inside the prison (perhaps just for convenience sake). Especially because, also in his inventory at the time is a stack of seeds, which appears in the chest with the enchanted diamond sword and shears which we already determined were likely used.

So, those are all the things we can more reasonably conclude with some reasonings and conclusions definitely stronger than others. Even further though if we wanted to really start to theorize, there is an also an argument to be made (that I’ve actually highlighted before [posts - <> <>]) that if he uses pickaxes why not also shovels? And hoes? And maybe even one of Sam tridents, perhaps WARDENS MERCY with Channeling [post]? [potential weapons used highlighted in red] I don’t know, it’s really mostly all theoretical but fun to think about anyways, I mean we do have Quackity’s comment in the letter visit, “I’ll show you which one I’ll use this time around.” [clip] and Dream’s comment to Foolish, “Sam, you know, let him in the prison, let him bring in tools—and shears, and they tried to torture the revive book out of me…” [clip] which does somewhat support the reasoning for more variety of tools. After all, why doesn’t Dream say weapons and shears? Seems to me like you’d use tools to include the shears, cuz swords and axes are just weapons. (We can obviously explain this away for many reason but that’s besides the point). Plus I mean based off of what Dream said in Daedalus as noted we tend to like to reasonably assume a knife and chair was involved (further supported by ccSam if we chose to believe his unhinged comments lol XD), and that certainly opens the door for other things…

I've been doing an overhaul of my room!! Very fun, fulfilling my childhood dreams of having a yellow room, and I'm going to finally put all those gay posters up on my walls n everything. Anyway, more of @lyngracetalksnwritesnstuff's birthday present AU (also known as Hanguang-Jun goes to the future AU)!!

Lan Huan is very pleased with how things are going for him right now. Lan Zhan offered a very slow approximation of a sentence, and Wei Ying's face lit up as he exclaimed "I recognise some of these!" before reaching for his satchel and whipping out a huge binder of notes. He drops it down onto the table between them and both Lan Huan and Lan Zhan flinch at the sound, but the two children don't even blink at it. Wei Ying leans over to try and open it, but then A-Yuan makes a mildly disgruntled sound and he realises that he does still, in fact, have a toddler on his lap, which cannot help him communicate with Lan Zhan well. Lan Huan isn't one to overstep or anything, but Wei Ying seems to have his hands full and A-Yu is also looking between his baby brother and his drink (which requires both of his hands) with increasing distress, so he offers to take A-Yuan off his hands. Wei Ying looks at him like he's an angel sent from the heavens and, while A-Yuan is being handed over to him, Lan Zhan looks almost moody despite not knowing what's going on.

Despite Lan Zhan's moodiness, he is quickly distracted by Wei Ying, who becomes more delighted with every character that he seems to have translated properly. Meanwhile, Lan Huan gets to engage in a very serious conversation with A-Yuan about the merits of sausage rolls and then asks A-Yu about what he likes and if he enjoys school, easing him into a quiet conversation. He adores children so much, he thinks they're so cute and they're always so full of life - A-Jue loves them as well, he's truly just a big softie when it comes to them, but they simply haven't had time to even consider adopting with their hectic work schedules. However, A-Jue has been hinting at it occasionally...he has also been mentioning wanting to get off the night shift or taking a backseat at his security company, so perhaps it's time to talk to him about it soon. For now, though, he just focuses on entertaining the two children while Lan Zhan and Wei Ying huddle over the folder and point randomly at different notations or whatever it is they're doing (he will not pretend to understand).

He doesn't realise how long it's been until his phone suddenly starts vibrating in his jacket pocket with the alarm reminding him that he has a shift to get to soon, and he realises that they've been sitting in the café for quite a while. It leaves him with a decision to make - leave Lan Zhan here with Wei Ying and then ask A-Jue to come get him later, imposing on even more of Wei Ying's time, or ask Wei Ying to take Lan Zhan home with him, so they can make more headway with his communication skills? He doesn't really want Lan Zhan to be too far away from where he knows he's safe...(yes, ever since Lan Zhan grasped his sleeve in the crowded area, he has been seeing the man as somebody important to worry about, like a didi) So, he comes to possibly the best decision. He messages A-Jue to ensure it's okay, adding that Wei Ying has kids that seem to be getting bored and fussy, and then asks Wei Ying if he wants to come back to the apartment so they can continue this while A-Jue entertains the kids?

Listen, if this was any other stranger, Wei Ying would of course say hell no, because why would he take his children anywhere that could be remotely dangerous? However, this is Lan-Laoshi's nephew, who has entrusted him with breaking down the language barrier between them and Lan Zhan, and has been distracting A-Yuan and A-Yu very well for these past couple of hours. He weighs up his options for a moment, before coming to the conclusion that nothing bad could really happen, and so agrees to it. A-Yu looks excited at the prospect of going on an adventure of sorts, while A-Yuan is too busy chewing on a lock of Lan Huan's hair to really have a reaction, but he's never really been a fussy kid when it comes to these things, so it's nothing if not a bonus! Lan Huan looks relieved, and Lan Zhan has no visible reaction because he has no clue what's going on, so Wei Ying points at one of the sentences they've built from what he's managed to correctly translate from the original rulebook - "moving to another area" (stolen from a rule about not running or something).

It doesn't take long for them to get there, which is really useful because Wei Ying's shoes do not fit properly and he's got some mean blisters appearing the backs of his heels with every step they take, with Lan Huan letting them into the apartment building before telling them his apartment number and ducking off to go to work. Wei Ying takes one look at the empty lift, then looks over at Lan Zhan, who is staring at the foreboding metal doors with suspicion clear in his eyes, and decides that it's better to just take the stairs than risk the magic man trying to blow up something in shock. He carries A-Yuan in his arms because he will throw a strop if he has to climb stairs when he's tired, and A-Yu walks along beside him until Lan Zhan suddenly scoops him up as well and just keeps walking as if he isn't carrying a thirteen year old in his arms like it's nothing. A-Yu is absolutely delighted by this, squealing and clinging onto the man as he's carried up, and Wei Ying's been hit with a sudden desire to ask for Lan Zhan's hand in marriage based on this alone like a fucking lunatic.

A-Yuan and A-Yu knock on Lan Huan's apartment door together because A-Yuan likes to be included in these things and A-Yu is a very good brother, and it's answered by a impossibly tall and muscular man who could definitely crush him into a ball with his bare hands if he wanted. They stare at each other for a moment, before the man raises a brow and gestures for them to come in, A-Yu finally being placed onto his feet to take off his shoes and A-Yuan squirming around to follow his gege's steps a few moments later. Lan Zhan is rather casual about the whole thing, utterly respectful and elegant with every movement he makes as he goes to sit on the couch. This leaves Wei Ying in an awkward standstill with this man until he goes "I'm Nie Huaisang's brother" and everything is suddenly right with the world because Huaisang talks about Nie Mingjue aaalll the time. If This guy can deal with Nie Huaisang, then he can definitely deal with anything Wei Ying may throw at him (probably...), and also he just immediately starts showing the boys around as though they are royalty while he sets up in the living room with Lan Zhan.
