Oldass Character Bracket: Semi-finals

Stanley Pines from the cartoon Gravity Falls is an old conman and a gunkle (grand uncle) of Mabel and Dipper. He struggles with feelings of inadequacy, always compared to his genius brother and never measuring up. He spent most of his life running. Either chasing his brother’s shadow or running away. He would do anything for family.

Cardinal Thomas Lawrence from the movie Conclave is the dean of the College of Cardinals. He’s responsible for planning the titular conclave and seeing to it that everything goes well and the Pope is chosen well. He wants to step down, but he keeps being forced to take responsibility.

Propaganda:

World's most depressed Miss Marple, in agony over confronting the evil that lurks in men’s souls yet dutifully continuing to investigate as skeletons simply topple out of his peers’ closets to pile up on top of him. Probably envies those metaphorical skeletons for getting to be dead and not having to Deal With This Shit (actually begins the first page of the book wishing he could be dead instead of his old boss/mentor, the late pope). God's oldest, saddest, wettest dog of a soldier. Has spent his entire long, miserable, repressed life simply saying "yes" whenever he's told "pick a struggle": depressed, self-harming, and suicidal; bisexual but celibate; Catholic; English; has an eating disorder; and probably has the other kind of ED, too, after his tangle with prostate cancer. We meet him a month after he already fully crashed out, except he was then told by the late pope he had to put his crash out on hold because his job is more important than he is. Suddenly has his tattered faith partially restored by the arrival of Beautiful Perfect Angel Cardinal McJesusAllegory, except the new guy is too busy insisting Thomas should become pope to notice Thomas’s heart-eyes crush. He DOESN’T WANT YOUR VOTE!!!, which is exactly why he deserves it <3

Wilfred Mott from the TV show Doctor Who is Tenth Doctor's good friend and part of Fourteen's found family. He's a veteran. The wikipedia says he's also a "staunch monarchist". He sacrificed himself to save someone's life, but is saved by the Doctor. Later down the line he becomes a wheelchair user.

Propaganda:

He’s just a sweet old man. Donna’s grandpa. Fought in a war but refused to kill anybody. The only man The Doctor respects. Goes into a radiation chamber to save someone else’s life and when The Tenth Doctor goes to sacrifice himself to get him out he begs him not to. Reappears in the 60th Anniversary Special and everyone loses their mind because look! It’s Wilfred! All in all he’s a good man with a heart of gold and deserves the world.
