Rambo appreciation post.

Rambo First Blood said something. It was a commentary on how America treats it's veterans of war, discards them as if one can simply "turn off" the impact of shell shock and all the brutality of falling head first into hell on earth.

Rambo First Blood Pt. 2 and Rambo 3 were big budget action movies set to capitalize on a character that is now largely expendable and used as a weapon.

Rambo (Rambo 4) and Rambo Last Blood (Rambo 5) fully accept and gleefully rejoice in what the character John Rambo has become: Exploitation. Grindhouse. Murder fantasies based on revenge in being a victim of a system that is inherently broken. This is not to say by any means that I do not enjoy these films. Quite the opposite, my favorite films are within the genre of revenge and exploitation. Irresponsible style over substance, one track mindedness, and heart ripping gore so brutal and vivid one would br forgiven for thinking there must have been a sale on vacuous containers full of fake blood.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F

A legacy sequel to the fish out of water action comedy franchise about a street wise detective solving crimes whilst visiting the more glamorous Beverly Hills District. In this 4th movie corrupt police officers try intimidating his estranged daughter after she comes to the defence of one of their patsies.

During one interrogation scene, the criminal can be seen watching wrestling on a portable TV in the background. The footage on screen is obscured and distant so is hard to work out but it appeara to be a tag team match and looks like it could be from 80s WCW, a cross body and a drop kick can be seen in 2 very brief clips.

Wrestle Rating:

3.5 out of 5 Rambo knives

Eddie Murphy doesn't appear to have missed a beat in the 30 years since the previous installment and while the move doesn't live up the the expectations of the original it is a fine addition to the series. The wrestling connection is a blink and miss it affair and adds nothing to the movie.

Hello! I’m Myfanwi, 27 years old and adoptive parent of two chinchillas, Thor and Mjöllnir. I have ADHD and I'm currently struggling to have my autism diagnosis.

I’m a French writer (she/they, I don’t care), so my English might be weird sometimes, but I’ll do my best. I’m currently looking for a job in France, and failing it a lot.

I started this blog on February 3rd 2021, and we're still here and active. I'm taking Undertale (canon and AU) headcanon requests from people and answering them with my characters.

1 - You can ask whatever you want, except heavy sexual things. If I'm not comfortable with an ask, I will say it. You can send as many asks as you want. The askbox is always open, I don't close it.

2 - I’m ok with angst and touchy subjects. I’m also very very LGBT+ friendly (I’m aroace and enby btw).

3 - I don’t do match-ups except during some rare events. I don't do RP interactions (= answering people asking things to the characters directly), only headcanons (= writing things ABOUT the characters).

What do you think of the trailer? Luke playing Rambo lol. June kissing Luke and Nick. I'm afraid Nick will be used by June for her own ambitions like in season 5. 🤔

Hi!!! This show has become my new hyper-fixation, so I basically saw the trailer like, seven times already lol. I know you didn't specifically ask for a breakdown, but here's my take anyway.

Serena: So something happens with the train, separating June and Serena, finally. We actually don't see them together in the trailer except when they're trying to leave the train, so either there's a big scene with them at the end or it's all over between them, which I doubt. Eh, I'm not really interested in this storyline. Serena is gonna do her pageantry with the wedding and New Bethlehem. I hope she gets what she deserves this season.

Moira: We see Moira talking with Mark Tuello, wanting to fight back. This will probably involve Luke and June, joining the Handmaids. I hope she's safe. We haven't seen much of her in the past few seasons, so I hope she gets a moment to shine. I really like her!

Commander Lawrence: Did he get new glasses? That's all I can say lol. I couldn't stop looking at them.

Janine: I loved the scene with Aunt Lydia and her at Jezebels. I hope she finds her freedom. I think June ends up there in some way or another, so we'll get to see them together and have her join the rebel Handmaids, too. She's also on my "Do Not Kill" list!

Luke: Alright, we have to talk about him. Luke gets out of jail somehow and wants to join the resistance. And you know what? Good. It's better than making a scrapbook or something lol. He doesn't have much experience fighting Gilead, so maybe he'll end up doing something really risky (perhaps with that grenade?). And that kiss. It felt more like a "goodbye" than an "I love you let's stay together forever" sort of thing. I'm not gonna worry about it.

June: I have no idea where the heck she is in half this trailer, lol. What is going on? I don't know what she's up to nor how she's gonna pull all this off, but I'm intrigued. Clearly staying in Canada is not what she wants anymore. Whatever she does, we know she ends up surviving, I just hope she finally gets what she wants. Gilead is still Gilead in The Testaments, so hopefully her rebellion doesn't end up in vain. I just want her happy and at peace finally. Also, is that June's mom we see with her at the Boston Globe??

Nick: I've read that this season is gonna test his character, and boy does it look like it will. He talks with two important men: Mark Tuello and this new Commander dude who ends up marrying Serena. So he's a double agent, basically. He has a lot of years and experience with these types of people, so I'm confident he'll ace these tests. I find it funny how some people want to make him a villain and I'm like, "Are we even watching the same show??" His allegiance is with his family, period. We see him a lot in this trailer, so I'm excited! People think he's gonna die and blah blah blah, nah. No way. Go read the sequel (it's really good so far, btw!!).

Speaking of family, Rose looks unhappy with him. No surprise. It seems like they're in New Bethlehem now, navigating that sort of life. What happens with the baby? What happens with their marriage? That's what I want to know. Ugh, this is so messy.

You mentioned Nick being "used" by June. I don't know how I feel about this sentiment. I hate to say it but Nick delivers, plain and simple. He's tried to get June out of Gilead multiple times, he gets the Handmaid letters out to Luke, he gives Commander Waterford over to June to be murdered, he gives her all the info he has on Hannah, etc. Perhaps his love language is "acts of service" idk. June has thanked him and is concerned for him and his safety. Last season, she said she didn't want to cause any trouble or anything. Nick wants to help and he does have the power, knowledge, and experience to get the job done. This might a hot take in this fandom, but to me, Nick is useful, but I don't think he's being taken advantage of. Again, what has Luke done before this new season?

Osblaine: We see them like, four times together in the trailer? Incredible! They always find their way back to each other, finding strength and hope, two virtues you need in a rebellion. Nick's, "Sometimes I think you're the only good thing in my life," hit me hard. To me, this expresses his feelings for June more than any "I love you" can. I hope June's response to this is just as important and honest, leaving no doubt where her heart lies. Also, we got a kiss in every season! (I don't care if season five was imaginary, let us have this!) Finally, we see them in the woods at night, referencing when Commander Waterford is absolutely obliterated by the Handmaids. Nick looks more like a Guardian this time for some reason, rather than a Commander. Is this their chance to "run away"??

Hannah and Holly/Nicole: Just throwing them in because they're not really mentioned in the trailer and I'm wondering what will happen to them. I want to see how they transition them into the new series. I hope Nick gets to see at least one of them one last time. I know he would be the best dad. :(

Anyway, life has been downright terrible, so I'm not gonna listen to all the negativity or doubts about this final season. Let's manifest for a great finale!! 🕯

Neden Müslümanlar bu kadar güçsüzdür?

YANIT:

Yanlış eğitim verdikleri ve gelişime yararı olmayan birer eğitim sistemi uyguladıkları için. Büyük oranda din eksenli, sorgusuz, araştırmasız, ezberci ve dayatmacı eğitim verdikleri için Müslümanlar güçsüzdür.

Oysa gezegenimizde yaklaşık 1 MİLYAR 477 MİLYON Müslüman yaşamaktadır.

Yani, toplam dünya nüfusu içinde;

Her 5 kişiden biri Müslüman olup

Her bir Hindu'ya 2 Adet Müslüman düşmektedir ve her bir Budist'e karşılık 2 Müslüman vardır ve her bir Yahudi'ye karşılık 100 Müslüman bulunmaktadır.

Müslümanlar bu kadar kalabalıklar ama neden güçsüzler?

Nedeni eğitimsizliktir!

İslam Konferansı Örgütü'nün (OIC) 57 üyesi vardır ve ülkelerin tümünde sadece 500 adet üniversite bulunmaktadır. Yani üniversite başına 3 milyon Müslüman düşmektedir. Başka bir deyişle 3 milyon kişi için bir üniversite yapılmıştır. Bunların kalitesi de başka bir sorundur.

Fakat sadece ABD'de 5 bin 758 adet üniversite vardır.

Shanghai Jiao Tong Üniversitesi tarafından 2004 yılında hazırlanan “Dünya Üniversitelerinin Akademik Değer Listesi”ne Müslüman çoğunluğa sahip ülkelerin hiçbirinden ilk 500’e giren tek bir üniversite yoktu.

Neden?

OKUMA YAZMA ORANLARI DA ÇOK DÜŞÜK

UNDP tarafından toplanan verilere göre Hıristiyan Dünyasında okuma yazma bilenlerin oranı

% 89’dur. Bunların %98’i ise en az ilkokul mezundur ve 100 kişiden 40’ı üniversite mezunudur.

15 Hıristiyan çoğunluğa sahip ülkedeki okuma yazma oran ise %100’dür, yani bu 15 ülkede okuma, yazması olmayan tek kişiye rastlamak olası değildir.

Müslüman ülkelerde durum bunun tersidir: 100 kişiden sadece 40’ı okuma yazma bilir ve herkesin okur yazar olduğu bir tek Müslüman ülke bulunmamaktadır!

Bunların %50’si ilkokulu, yalnızca %2’si üniversiteyi bitirmiştir.

BİLİM İNSANLARININ ORANLARI DA ÇOK DÜŞÜK

ABD’de toplam bilim insanı sayısı 4.000, Japonya’da 5.000’dir. 57 Müslüman çoğunluğa sahip ülkelerdeki toplam bilim adamı sayısı ise sadece 230 kişidir.

Akademisyenlerin hepsi bilim insanı değildir. Bilim insanı demek, pozitif bilimlerle aktif olarak uğraşan kişi demektir. Her 1 milyon Müslüman kişiye yalnızca 1 bilim insanı düşmektedir.

Teknisyenler bakımından Müslüman çoğunluklu Arap ülkelerdeki durum daha da kötüdür.

Her 1 milyon Müslüman Arap nüfus içinde 50 teknisyen bulunmaktadır. Hıristiyan dünyasında ise her bir milyon kişi içinde 1000 teknisyen bulunmaktadır.

NEDEN?..

YANIT: Kalitesiz, ezberci eğitim ve ARGE’ye araştırma geliştirmeye yeterli kaynak ayrılmaması.

Çünkü Müslümanlar gayri safi milli gelirin yalnızca % 0,2’sini araştırma, geliştirme bütçesi olarak ayırıyor.

Buna karşın Hıristiyan dünyası araştırma, geliştirmeye % 5 oranında, yani 25 kat daha fazla fon ayırmaktadır.

SONUÇ

İslam dünyası yeni bilgi üretebilecek kapasiteden yoksundur. Ayrıca dünyanın ürettiği bilgiyi kendi halklarına öğretmekte de başarısızdır. Bunun kanıtı ise ileri teknoloji ihracat rakamlarında saklıdır:

~Pakistan’ın ileri teknoloji ihracatının toplam ihracatın içindeki oran %1’dir.

~Suudi Arabistan, Kuveyt, Fas ve Cezayir’in ise % 0,3’tür.

~Hristiyan Singapur'da bu oran % 58'dir.

Gelecek BİLGİ temelli toplumların olacaktır.

İlginçtir, Müslüman 57 ülkenin gayri safi milli hâsılalarının toplamı 2 trilyon doların altındadır.

Buna karşın 310 milyonluk ABD tek başına 12 trilyon dolar değerinde mal ve hizmet üretmekte;

Çin 8 trilyon dolar,

Japonya 3,8 trilyon dolar ve

Almanya 2,4 trilyon dolarlık üretim yapmaktadır.

Satın alma gücü eşitlenerek hesaplama yapılmıştır.

Mal ve hizmet üretimi

İspanya’da 1 trilyon doların üzerindedir.

Katolik Polonya 489 milyar dolarlık mal ve hizmet üretimi gerçekleşmektedir.

Budist Tayland 545 milyar dolar değerinde mal ve hizmet üretimi yapmaktadır.

This is an interesting bit of information I actually never knew until now. They partly brought the character Amarice (Jennifer Sky) into the show in Season 4 to alleviate Gabrielle from being the "stupid character". But that's really funny to me because I never saw Gabrielle that way. I saw her as young, naive and innocent. But I never thought she was "stupid" or that she was a character that "needed to learn a lesson". I always thought she was pretty intelligent to be honest. Definitely very streetwise for someone who never adventured outside her hometown until meeting Xena with the bartering and persuasive skills and empathetic persona she carried. But I do acknowledge the fact that the character did have to evolve out of the "helpless, damsel in distress" role and that's why she became a warrior in her own right. Although, that wasn't just because of travelling around with Xena but also becoming an Amazon Princess. I know that Joxer became a prominent character in the show so Gabrielle wasn't always leaned on as the "comic relief" character but there was never a point where I thought she was "the irritating blonde" or "the irritating tag-along"

The whole stereotype with the butch/femme thing is just silly to me. I think the swapping of who was the "butch" and who was the "femme" worked well for them because it worked with the role-reversal transitions. The times when swapping their positions. So I don't think either of them had to look a specific way at any point to be honest.

Also I quite like Gabrielle as a butch thank you very much. One of the only reasons Season 5 wasn't a slog to get through was due to the eye candy of Gabrielle looking like a female Rambo. Built like a tank and the short blonde messy hair was a very appealing look on her. But I guess that's just me because I'm a lot more attracted to butches. I may have been like 9 years old at the time but watching Gabrielle go butch never bothered me. Very much the opposite actually.

I ask because you didn’t follow it up with any kind of bit and no one remarked upon it. This sounds like it may have been a traumatic thing so I’m fine with you ignoring this ask if it was.

I was 100% serious. Chris left the door unlocked for a second and a guy opportunistically trying them came into our flat, prompting me to grab the nearest thing to hand (AK bayonet) and advance towards him very loudly advising him to fuck off. I was also naked the entire time. He seemed startled
