1st of Inktober: Backpack

Been a while since i really worked in ink. Gonna need a bit to get back into it. This one took me 2h 30min

Whoops I tripped and my hand slipped and all of a sudden this Sonamy art just kinda spawned outta nowhere haha that's crazy

I'm not gonna sugarcoat it this is almost entirely inspired by a specific Slowed & Reverbed rendition of Ariana Grande's "Into You" and 90% of it just came from the gif they used for the chorus vdsbfvjhkbfdv

I saw it and thought "Okay how can I make this about Sonic. Hm. This song feels Sonamy-coded, and Sonic feels like the type of guy to give a girl a motorcycle ride but like romantically. Oh but he doesn't have a motorcycle. That's, like, Shadow's thing. He has a hoverboard though. And letting someone else ride with him on a hoverboard would arguably be even more dangerous than on a motorcycle...so it's right up his alley." all in the span of like 2 seconds.

Of course this also meant I needed to finally design my own Amy, usually when other artists draw her they choose one of 3 options: they draw her normally, they give her long hair, or they give her Sonic's hair; as you can see I couldn't make that choice

So why am I yapping so much about all this? Idk I just think it's neat hdbfsvjhbhvbd

I'm gonna do one of those note things since I'm currently in the trenches when it comes to my mental health 🙏😭 (I'm not even in the trenches It's WORSE) Also 5 notes per person!

Green = completed

Blue = achieved but not yet done

Red = I couldn't bring myself to do it but I'll try and avoid this!

10 notes: I'll drink some water

25 notes: I'll eat

50 notes: I'll brush my hair

75 notes: I'll shower

100 notes: I'll keep working on my fanfic!

150 notes: I'll take an hour off from my device and any social media and do smth else

200 notes: I'll take two hours off from my device

500 notes: I'll wash my hair

DESCRIPTION

The allegorical figures of Painting and Poetry represent the famous theme explored by Horace in Ars Poetica. The concept of UT PICTURA POËSIS (“so in painting as in poetry”) is expressed by Furini in the Sapphic kiss and embrace of the two figures, arranged almost symmetrically, and in the interplay of gestures which visually represent the mutual relationship between the two sister arts. Painting, depicted on the left, holds a palette and brushes in one hand, tools for art as the imitator of nature, and a mask in the other, a reference to the imitation of human actions. Poetry, on the right, holds a quill, while the inkwell sits atop the scroll signed with the motto CONCORDI LVMINE MAIOR. This motto was coined by Furini himself and aims to emphasize the Horatian concept of unity between the two arts, serving as a reminder that both painting and poetry are of greater quality when seen in the same light.

The painting was correctly attributed to Francesco Furini only a few decades ago, thanks to the discovery of the signature almost completely hidden in the hem of the yellow robe worn by Poetry. The work, dated in 1626, was commissioned by the prestigious Accademia del Disegno in Florence to mark the celebrations of its patron saint, Saint Luke, in 1624. The painting met with such appreciation as to earn the painter membership of the institution, and inspired a second version of the subject by Galileo Galilei. Indeed, the work represents a fundamental moment of Furini's career, highlighting his maturing style in the context of Florentine painting in the early seventeenth century.

   an ear flicks,  ignorant to other hedgehog's plans until head turns to actually look when he speaks.  brows furrow  /  confused  /  it's only when small chuckle breaks the air does it finally register.

   "  ya do know it's just gonna get messed up again,  right ?  "  yet no action is made to deny strive's attempts at straightening out messy quills  (  if anything,  he's actually entertaining it,  considering just how still he's sitting  ) .
