Punk band posters are known for their DIY aesthetic, often featuring bold, hand-drawn graphics, rebellious imagery, and raw typography.

They capture the energy and ethos of the punk movement. Bands like the Sex Pistols and Ramones had iconic posters, helping create the visual language of punk.

These posters were often past around locally, promoting underground shows and creating a sense of community within the punk scene.

Today, vintage punk posters are collectibles, showcasing the artistic and rebellious spirit of the era, and this is what I wanted to create with my poster. I wanted this to feel like a relic of the past, a poster that the band might have used to promote there music.

I added the Spotify codes to a couple Sex Pistol songs, and to bring punk into the modern world. To show that punk is not dead

Disrupt:

This Thursday I went into FF22 the publication room and started to make a collage poster. I sketched a brain drawing with red sharp points to indicate my pain during a migraine. I then enlarged it to A3 using the photocopier.

I used the magazines available in the room to cut out images that correlated to my piece that I could use.

I then arranged it into a poster.

Is 16384px x 16384px a good canvas size in IbisPaint to make a poster or is that not right?

Deprived Thought

Project description: For this course Principles of Public Relations, we had to make a poster as a way of communicating with the targeted audiences through posters. We had to develop our project based on the Curriculum integration (CI) theme of that semester which was Pedagogy of the Oppressed. We tried to connect out poster with the theme of the CI. After making the poster it was exhibited in the Shilpokala Academy.

Project justification: We made the poster as a way of communicating with our target audience. As the theme was Pedagogy of the oppressed, we chose the topic Deprived Thought. This indicates how our thoughts are controlled by the education system and how we are chained by it.

Poster Making Manifesto Workshop

I went to this workshop last week and really enjoyed time creating my poster, and had a great chat with Fiona about where my project and how I want to wrap it up.

A couple pics i took in the workshop

We were shown a couple of examples of posters in the workshop and this one really stuck out to me. I liked how Spotify codes were used and the colour scheme.

And the final poster, I tried out a couple different colour variations but found that this off white/ grey colour was the best. I found that the colours really popped out and gave it that vintage/ 70’s look I was going for.

A couple other variations I did.

Some things about Allan:

He’s the only one who reacts to the narrator

He’s the only doll (besides the Weird House) who isn’t swayed in some way by Ken’s takeover

He also declares himself as “Ken's buddy" (making canon his official box description) which makes his inability to be swayed more interesting

He has bendable legs (probably the only reason he tries to jump the fence instead of going around like everyone else)

He easily decked a half-dozen construction Kens and could probably singlehandedly win the Ken fight

He seems to know more about the real world than most Barbies

He knows what NSYNC is 

He knows about other Allan copies living in the real world (I’m trying to figure out if he made this up to convince the humans he can live in the real world, but even if he did, how does he know what NSYNC is???)

There are no other Allan models

thinking about how the memory tardis had one piece of rose in it, her missing poster, and how that is representative of rose's narrative, she's missing... there are pieces of all the other doctors, of yaz, of river, but rose's thing isn't the jacket donna found, isn't some sort of actual rose, but is literally just her missing poster, because even to the memory tardis, to the doctor, she is missing. where is she? have you seen rose tyler?
