I’ve had people ask for more examples of traits that can be good or bad, so I’ll add some more here:
Perfectionism -> Never being good enough
Distrusting -> Less chance of betrayal
Cold and unemotional -> Practical and level-headed
Bubbly -> Annoying and childish
Secretive -> Trustworthy
Selfless -> Seeks outside validation
Altruistic -> They don’t believe they can ever be liked so they settle for being useful

Redeeming Qualities to Give to Your Villains
Do you have a character who's in desperate need of some green flags, but they can't be anything too heroic? Well, then, you've come to the right place! In other words, here are 10 redeeming qualities to give to your villains!
Ability to grow - Yes, this is pretty basic, but if your character is demonstrating speedy growth and attempting to understand those around them fairly, then it's revealing more open-mindedness to their persona!
A rational mind - The capability to decide decisions quickly and efficiently during important times is an incredibly important trait, while not allowing emotions to cloud their judgement exhibits impressive leadership skills!
Intelligence - This one's pretty obvious, intelligence shows that your character is capable of their position and/or more!
Self-awareness - Self-awareness in your character demonstrates that they understand what they're doing is wrong, and that they're not doing things just on a whim!
Fairness - Honestly, this characteristic can be included in many different types of characters; just sneak it in and reveal it at the right time! A character who refuses to play dirty, is ultimately, a respectable character.
Patience - Patience is one of the keys to self-control. When your character is willing to wait, they prove their willpower and cautious thinking!
Consideration - Don't mix up consideration with kindness! A considerate person will think about the people around them, but not always out of compassion. Regardless, they are looking out for those around them and making a decision based on that!
Determination - Readers often overlook this trait, but being determined and working hard is definitely a positive characteristic, no matter the goal!
Morality behind actions - Does your character only do evil things for fun, or do they do it with an ethical goal in mind? The latter demonstrates a more humane side to your villain, where they are aware of the issues going on, and want to change it by all means.
Self-control - Having self-control also demonstrates a rational mind! They prevent themselves from doing unnecessary things, focusing only on the important goals!
See? Finding positive traits for antagonists isn't all that hard if you know what you're looking for! For those who are struggling, however, I hope that this is able to spark your creativity! Happy New Year, it's officially 2024! <3
Happy writing~

Positive Traits Handout
This handout is a quick way to start the conversation in groups. I have folks circle the 10 traits that they (think/feel) have. Than I ask them to put them in a numbered order (1 to 10), best to worst. One day someone suggested that they had way more negative traits so…. I started asking folks (after they shared the positive traits) to write their negative traits on the back. Most of the people…

❤️ RED HEART — what are three of your oc's positive traits?
Hhhmmm. Well uhhh, three of my positive traits are I’m pretty funny, I’m smart, and I’m loyal.
💔 BROKEN HEART — what are three of your oc's negative traits?
Aaaw man, I guess I should’ve expected this question too. Okay so… I can be very spontaneous which can get me into trouble sometimes. I don’t always think things through which, again, can get me into trouble. And….sometimes I’m too trusting which, you guessed it, has gotten me into trouble.
🖤 BLACK HEART — has your oc killed or seriously wounded anyone before? have they broken someone's heart and/or broken someone's trust?
I’m an Avenger sooooo yeah, I’ve seriously wounded before. I thought I killed one person before, but he just ended up deformed. Really big head and tiny arms and legs, ya know how it is. And then I killed the Kang variant too.

"no attachments" in SW literally just means "don't be selfish and possessive". that's it. that's all there is. doesn't mean jedi can't have friends and loved ones. they can. just. don't be possessive and selfish about it. don't murder thousands of people in an effort to save one.

The Facets of Ego and Transcendent Experiences
Part OneThe journey of self-understanding often leads us to explore the contours of our own ego. The ego, our sense of self-identity, manifests in countless facets that embody our personality traits, motivations, and behaviours. Each of these facets, be they positive attributes like resilience and compassion, or negative tendencies such as jealousy and arrogance, forms an integral part of our…

The Importance of Good and Evil in Human Nature: Finding the Balance for a Harmonious Society
The relationship between good and evil in human nature has been a topic of debate for centuries. Some argue that humans are inherently good, while others believe that humans are inherently evil. However, the truth lies somewhere in between. It is the balance between the good and evil in human nature that guides the order and stimulates the potential of human beings. In this article, we will…

What is the difference between a “chosen person” and an “equal person”?
The terms chosen person and equal person refer to the special people a pwNPD have in their life. People with Cluster B disorders may have a “special person” in their life that can mark a difference in the way they have relationships with others. So, much like how pwBPD have their favorite person (FP, for short), pwNPD can have an equal person (EP) or a chosen person (CHP).
But what is the difference?
From what I have seen from other people with NPD, as well as my own experiences, both terms can be chalked up to as this:
Equal person is the person that is equally as important to the narcissist. The EP may be on the same level or close to as the narcissist, hence the name. This is a person that the narcissist cares for, who’s emotions and feelings are acknowledged.
Chosen person is the person that the narcissist values above everybody else. In other words, they are someone worthy of the narcissist’s time. Chosen people may be chosen because they hold a trait or have charcteristics that may interest the narcissist.
Why are these special bonds formed for pwNPD?
Simply put, the traits of our personality disorder may cause us to have rocky relationships with other people. It causes us not to care about other people, see them as inferior/useless, and become distant from some.
Empathy is a struggle for pwNPD, we don’t really have much of it. That is why EPs are special—they are a person the narcissist cares about, and sees close to or on their level.
Some pwNPD may not be all about socialization or having close friends. That is why CHPs are special—the narcissist likes this person a lot, and considers them worthy.
A chosen person can be an equal person, and vice versa. But they are not the same thing.
An equal person can just be an equal person. The narcissist may not have any relationship with them, or consider them a CHP. They are just a person the narcissist sees on their or close to their level.
A chosen person can just be a chosen person. The narcissist may not see their CHP as an equal—they are just someone the narcissist picked.
However, from what I’ve heard and my own personal experience, some pwNPD have CHPs or EPs that are also EPs or CHPs! Whatever they decide to use to describe their person, depends on the narcissist. Some use equal person, others chosen person.
I haven’t seen any posts about the topic, so I decided to make a post to spread the word. I hope this might help clear some things up for non-NPD and for my fellow narcissists!

Exactly why they don't like the eyes anymore, I do not know. Or Cheap sunglasses come into style? I mean, there's that ZZ Top song, but that is closer to the original printing.

The question for punchline is whether it is better the trait be something widely viewed as ridiculous with bad manners or which mocks him as muscle-y jock. Probably the former.
