that's the search engine for the dark web, technically the dark web is an abandoned navy thing LOL they opened up to help conceal their stuff, but at some point people poured in from who the fuck knows where and took it over, now the dark web exists.
the dark web just houses weird mildly illegal to illegal shit, if you wondering CSEM and CSA, SA, and more shit is on there? it's just hidden. but it's a whole other thing for another day, it's not out in the open like in the dark grey web.

trying to connect the watcher bullshit with the way media companies on YouTube have regularly failed. Can’t figure out how to be coherent yet but ohhhh boy when I do.
#I just find it really interesting to see parallels like#mainly got a triangle of like#bdg with polygon#Shane and Ryan at buzzfeed#and the after hours crew at cracked (+maybe cody Johnston)#just people who attracted a lot of audience to a channel that probably had too much staff and was transitioning from like#pop culture and comedy websites to YouTube style content#plus college humor too but they diversified enough that dropout is now stable and successful#but I feel like soooo many of these companies just put so much stake in the fact that they have popular people#and then either behind the scenes stuff makes them make terrible decisions or lay people off or whatever#and then it fails#figured buzzfeed wouldn’t last after Ryan and Shane left because of what happened with cracked#again that was more a lay offs thing then people going independent but still#idk it’s just something I’ve thought about since like. middle school because of how long stuff like this has been happening#someone can probably articulate it better but#I’d love to learn more about how business decisions interact with YouTube when you have like A Crew instead of one or two people#behind a channel

Debra Solomon - the_living
the_living is a performance-based net artwork carried out by artist Debra Solomon (US/NL) between 1997 and 1998. It centers around the online life of the digi-persona ‘the_living’, with the artist as her flesh holder. The work is highly situationist, with the_living intervening into different chatrooms of an early video conferencing software CU-SeeMe without former notice. There, she would chat with other online users and live streamed moments of her life in unusual places, such as swimming pools, in Amsterdam canals and on the bike. These live performances were often long and could last throughout the day. The_living also had a website www.the-living.org, where the artist gave explanations of the work and displayed the various ‘Tamagotchi gifts’--animation and midi files she created—for her audiences.
After the year-long performance, the_living project continued to evolve in the form of installations, broadcasts and in-person tours until a complete shift in the artist’s practice in 2003. Due to technological obsolescence, the website is no longer online and most of the digital files have been lost. Despite its ephemeral lifespan, the work is pioneering in staging artistic intervention into the online public space, and critically reflecting on the blurring boundaries between the physical and virtual worlds at the early Internet age.

How it feels to have CW Supernatural fans with studio ghibli icons and tumblr badges try to passive aggressively bully you for sharing your experience as a Hazbin Hotel fan trying to ship an asexual character on a post that they made about fandom ship culture, certain actors being obnoxious, and basically, bullying, and they were getting along with Anne Rice Fans (of which you also are one) and letting them talk about their shit just fine, and after all, they're referencing Supernatural so you thought they'd know how to be humble and that you would be safe with them, but you weren't. Because unlike Amir Talai talking about Alastor, you actually had the balls to tag the Hazbin Shipping Discourse Tea on your reblog of the post that OP made about shipping culture (and bullying), that they somewhat already related back to CW Supernatural Fandom Discourse...
