I swear TB doesn't really get what the Patriarchy is. They keep throwing that word around with Rhaenyra, but do they really get it? They keep saying it as a way for Rhaenyra to be Queen, but forget that Alicent I also a victim of the Patriarchy, that Helaena is as well. If you look up "what is the Patriarchy" this is what you get. "Patriarchy is a social system that gives men more power than woman in many areas of life, including politics, economics, and culture. It's based on the idea that men are superior and should have power over woman, both in public and in private life." From that definition Alicent and Helaena are worse victims of the Patriarchy compared to Rhaenyra. Rhaenyra was named heir and given a place of power, Alicent and Helaena weren't, at least until Viserys became too sick that Alicent had to step in incase he couldn't make it to council meetings. Now I'm not saying Rhaenyra isn't a victim of Patriarchy, only that TB forgets that Alicent and Helaena are too and victim blame them while sobbing for Rhaenyra cause she didn't get the throne.

The way they call Alicent a whore cause she did what her dad told her to do, cause she was under the idea that she was just comforting the king until it was too late? Like are you serious? TB says Rhaenyra is a victim of the Patriarchy cause she had to marry a man who was gay and would never love her romantically but only platonically. While Alicent never had either with Viserys.

julius keeps collecting twinks that are secretly / not so secretly jealous of him but the difference in how different guys are jealous of julius is that reinhard would keep a photo of him and julius in a frame on his nightstand (has had it there since he was 14) (staring longingly at it is part of his daily routine), subaru would say he hates julius but his entire room head to toe is plastered with pictures of julius and new pictures keep popping up everyday, joshua would keep cutting and then retaping a photo of him and julius together depending on how upset at julius he is that day (we’re talking like theres a cut down the middle between photo julius and joshua ok. joshua dont play around), and then otto would have a designated julius photo that he drunkenly throws knives at (hes had to get his fingers healed multiple times)

So, I was on the hunt for more stills of Alicent wearing her ‘mothers dress’ because I realised that I only have three photos of it (one of Emily in their trailer, one a literal screenshot, and the other the only HD still released), and as I was zooming into the still my stomach just dropped (turn the brightness up for maximum grossness).

Look at how SHEER it is 😟! Like, obviously we know it wasn’t a dress a 14-year-old should be made to wear (her entire collarbone is exposed, it clings to her skin); but because the scene was shot pretty dark and her book covered almost her entire torso, the sheer (literally) grossness of the dress was moved on by people quicker than it should’ve been.

I mean, you can see entire strips of skin beneath the dress in areas like the arm, and the side of her torso.
