Peter Parker x Sister!Reader Steve Rogers x Reader Avengers x Reader; Hybrid Social Media AU
Summary: Y/N Parker is Peterā€™s older sister. She is ten years older than Peter, making her 26 years-old. She is also an Avenger, her powers are very similar to Wandaā€™s; telekinesis, mind reading, teleportation, and elemental bending. She has been an Avenger far longer than Peter, and like Peter her identity is kept a secret. As well as being an Avenger she works in the lab alongside Tony, she is a science genius. She has also been dating Steve Rogers for the past 3 years. Their relationship is as great as it can possibly be, that is until Steve does something that has Y/n questioning not only their entire relationship, but her place in the Avengers. It opens her eyes to how much of her life has revolved around Steve and work. Never really experiencing life like everyone else her age has.

Okay so I have a couple AUs I wanna explore but I do not have the energy to.
Circus Freak Peter Parker AU
Peter Parker goes to Gotham and has a run in with the bats. Through a large series of misunderstandings they think he was someone sold to the circus as some sort of attraction. Peter decides to lean into this idea. Bonus points if Dick Grayson and Richard Parker are the same person too!
Sibling Swap AU
Essentially Jazz and Damian swap places. Through a series of events Jazz ends up adopted by the Fentonā€™s. Then through another series of events (bad reveal, GIW intervention, or dead Fenton parents.) Jazz is forced to seek out her biological father for help. Family shenanigans ensue!
Scarlet Spider AU
Wanda and Peter Parker accidentally get sent to Gotham and end up getting de aged. Wanda is incredibly depressed so is Peter but they stick to together and navigate this world together.
Emotional support Loki AU
More Peter in Gotham except this time Loki gets thrown into the mix and essentially becomes an emotional support snake for Peter.
The Time BS Trio AU
Essentially Peter Parker, Marinette Dupain Cheng, and Danny Fenton all get stranded in Gotham for various reasons. They end up grouping up together to get through the BS that their Timey Wimey friends put them through.
Thatā€™s all I have so farā€¦. Have fun!

First time Candace meets another Spider-person is because she and her version of Green Goblin(Norman's a Doof-style Evil Scientist complete with Weird Moral Code and also mutated himself into an actual goblin, which is one of his backstories. Funny enough Harry was born after the mutation but is still a normal dude.) got dumped into Peni's universe by one of Goblin's inventions. Somehow the actual supervillain who proudly calls himself evil is a better and kinder person than his local counterpart who happens to be Peni's boss, and she isn't really sure how to take that. Also, SP//dr really likes Candace, much to her distress.

I've Always Wanted Brothers
What if Peter-2 (Tobey Maguire) and Peter-3 (Andrew Garfield) were Peter-1 (Tom Holland) brothers? What if they were in Spiderman 1, 2, 3, TASM 1, 2, Homecoming, Far From Home, Captain America: Civil War, Infinity war and endgame.? I say YES. ā€˜What about No Way Home?ā€™ Youā€™re probably asking. Yeah about that I might have to have some time to think about that one cause so far all I got is either they forget all the Parker brothers, forget just one brother, have one of the brothers die instead of May but still make them forget one of the brothers but I donā€™t feel like adding any more trauma to my babies.
Did they all wear glasses before becoming spiderman? No. Just Tobey and Andrew except Andrew wore contacts. Why? Cause heā€™s amazing. Get it?
Anyways names are: Raimiverse, Tobey Maguire Parker Webbverse, Andrew Garfield Parker MCUverse, Peter Holland Parker
First of all for Flash they're all separate people that like to bully the Parkers tho Flash in TASM turned out to be nice guy and for MJ there cousins from their fathers side SMā€™s Mary-Jane Watson and Homecoming is Michelle Jones Watson, neither parents realized this until after Michelle was born (and this can happen because my cousin has the same god damn name as me, neither of our parents knew because they didnā€™t keep contact as closely as now)
Aunt May is the one from homecoming because why not and I know that May is younger than the rest and Ben that was shown in the other movies was older but use your imagination and find some actor to replace him because heā€™s gonna die anyways.
James Harold ā€˜Harryā€™ Osborn and Dane Harold ā€˜Harry Jrā€™ Osborn are brothers their dad didnā€™t bother giving them unique middle names and yes I used their actors first names. The Bugle will be the same from Raimiverse and I'm using TASM thing on their dad.
When Tobey was 6, Andrew was 4 and Peter was 3 the beginning scene of The Amazing Spiderman happened, and they were left at Aunt May and Uncle Benā€™s house. Also do you remember the part in Ironman 2 when that one kid tried to stop one of the drones WELL since that was confirmed to be Peter he was 6 when this happens, and you can imagine the look and pure FEAR on his 12-year-old and 9-year-old brothers face's during that.
The timeline has been kinda changed around (thank god for Google, if you want know search up ā€˜what year does (movie name) take placeā€™) and the age difference is this. Tobey is older then Andrew by 3 years and Andrew is older then Peter by also 3 years
Spiderman 1 2013 (Ages: Tobey; 17-18. Andrew; 14. Peter; 10-11) The Amazing Spider-Man 2015 (Tobey; 20. Andrew; 17. Peter; 13-14) Spider-man 2 2015 (Tobey; 20-21. Andrew; 17. Peter; 14) Spider-man 3 and TASM 2 borderline of 2015-2016, (Tobey; 21. Andrew; 17-18. Peter; 14) Captain America Civil War 2016 (Tobey; 21. Andrew; 18. Peter; 15) Homecoming 2016 (Tobey; 21. Andrew; 18. Peter; 15) Infinity War 2018 (Tobey; 23. Andrew; 20. Peter; 17) Yes Peter, and Iā€™m pretty sure May, still do get snapped while the older two do not. Endgame 2023 (Tobey; 28. Andrew; 25. Peter; 17) Peter now calls them old men
Far From Home 2024, if Beck never revealed Spider-Man(Men?)ā€™s identity and cause No Way Home to happen cause dear lord that is too much to think about (Tobey; 29. Andrew; 26. Peter; 18)
2013: At seventeen Tobey (A.P 14. P.P 13) visited the Lab with his friend James Harold ā€˜Harryā€™ Osborn and the rest of his class they were shown the spiders and you know just basically everything that happened in the movie happens.
2015: Two years later Tobey moved back in with his family to help with bills and The Amazing Spiderman starts just like the movie but Ben is replaced with Tobey who recognizes the effects after Andrew is bitten but says nothing. He becomes spiderman as well making the same suit, so it doesnā€™t look like thereā€™s more than one Spiderman, in the part where Ben got shot is actually none other then Tobey Parker and of course he survives and no one wonders where Spider-Man is cause Andrew is being Spider-Man.
2015: then the events of Spiderman 2 happen, Tobey goes to collage Aunt May convinces him that he should move out and learn to live by himself in the end he tells Andrew about his alter ego and already knew about Andrew and just didn't say anything until he thought he was ready, and they make an alliance for one of them to go during the school, afternoon, and switch nights. Peter turns 16.
2015-2016: Then Spiderman 3 happens, it stays the same since during bully Maguire parts he stop all contact with his family and either way at the same time on the other side of New York TASM 2 is happening. They end at the same time because from the distance after Harry dies they can see all the lights from Electro and being the big brother he has to leave tho he doesnā€™t want to leave MJ but she forces him to go, when he makes it there he finds his little brother hunched over the body of Gwen and Tobey helps Andrew deal with her death. Andrew tells him and Peter on what he found of about their dad, at the same time Peter decides to confront them about all their secrets and how heā€™s been keeping tabs about all of it. They tell him all about it and letā€™s say they had to bribe him and threaten him A LOT so he wouldnā€™t say anything to May on purpose or on "accident" but Peter understood, he just wanted the money. Andrew turned 18 in the middle of it all, probobly before or after the graduation scene.
2016: Before Captain America Civil War when Peter got his powers was when his class took a trip to the same lab as Tobey but more improved so the spider that had given Tobey his powers was no longer shown in the same room but in a sperate one where they would harm any students, Peter ended up doing the same thing that Andrew did and snuck into the room where the spiders were and low and behold one was out, bit the young Parker who became the next Spiderman and got a full on yell by both his brothers for willingly turning into Spider-Man. After a lot of convincing he told his brothers he could handle it and besides they both needed a break after the loss of their loved ones, and definitely Tobey cause he hasnā€™t taken a single break since he lost his powers in the second movieā€¦
Then Civil War happened. Tony thought what everyone thought. That there was only one spiderman and when he found out that he (or at least one of them) was Peter Parker he knew what to say to the kid one what he gathered was that his brothers had moved out and he lived with Aunt, so it was quite a shocker when he found out that the two had moved back in with May to help pay bills. Another shocker was when they insisted on companying him to his room. Another not so much shocker was the fact they knew that he was spiderman. The very BIG shocker was when Tony had tried leaving only to be webbed to the wall they the other two and find out all THREE OF THEM were Spider-Man. Of course after a lot of convincing, mostly convincing Tobey, all three of them took on the ā€˜internshipā€™.
2016: Finally, Spiderman Homecoming happens and its all the same just with overprotective brothers and mentors
2018: Infinity War where only Peter Parker gets Blipped. YEAH THATā€™S RIGHT! Iā€™M NOT ONLY CAUSING TONY THE PAIN HE FELT WHEN PETER GOT BLIPPED! Iā€™M FUCKING MAKING TOBEY AND ANDREW FEEL IT BUT NOT KNOW IT CAUSE THEY WERE ON EARTH WHEN PETER GOT BLIPPED!HAHAHAHAHHA angst! =D
In Endgame after those five years Tobey is in an off and on type of relationship in being Spider-Man while Andrew barely has any time to be Andrew Parker but when Steve, Natasha and Scott finds the two and tells them the plan they are on BOARD with it. They gonna get their brother and aunt back if itā€™s the last thing they do, also im pretty sure Aunt May got blipped if yaā€™ll are confused, around 70% sure. Iā€™m thinking of a version where Tony does die and a bonus one where he doesnā€™t because we all need that IronDad and Spider-Son(s?) moment.
Far From Home is when he did die.
Also IF one of ya'll were thinking I'd add Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock you thought right. It's small tho. So imagine him being their mom or dad's friend's kid who lived in San Francisco or something like that and he was a teen when the Parker's were kids so they're like non blood related cousins OR he's the non blood related cool Uncle with a parasite who loves his nephews.
Oh also to the ones who actually read it and are also Star Wars fans

Superboy, suspicious: how did you know that was about to happen?
Peter, panicking: I'm a psychic
Harry Osborn the designated liar of the pair, had a whole backstory prepared, who had no idea Peter was about to spout bullshit: šŸ˜’
Kon (does not believe him): psychic šŸ¤Ø
Harry, best friend who COMMITS: yeah, he is, and he's sensitive about it!
Peter, near tears because he's stressed, okay? and he's never lied to a superhero before (he will continue): yeah im sensitive about it
Out of curiosity, are you planning on making the Catwoman au a real fic or is it just a brain child at the moment?
both! i actually have a growing list of different aus i want to write for Peter Parker in Gotham fics:
Tumblr media
as well as a BUNCH of regular Batfam au fics sitting in my drafts. i've also been writing drabbles for one shot ideas for LoF, like the one where Peter gets deaged, and another where Peter and Dami get sent back in time to when Jason was Robin
i've been making outlines for a couple of the aus on this list, but i might make a poll soon to see what the order i start working on them should be. so far, i'm thinking Catwoman would win, and Psych would be in 2nd place, since they're referenced the most often. that's why Catwoman and Psych have vague outlines right now, so I know more about what will and won't happen
(and tbh... more aus might get added... i can't stop thinking of them)

AU List
Hello! Welcome! This is my attempt at keeping the AU's boiuncing around in my head in order. They should be mostly in chronological order.
Some of them are getting turned into full length fics! The list (and it's open to suggestions) can be found here: Fic List
A couple of things:
Please feel free to write your own fics based on any of these! No need to ask, simply link it so I can also read it <3
If you have any specific scenarios you have an idea for and would like me to write- my asks/prompts are always open! I can't guarantee quality as I do most of my writing at like, 3 AM but I'll try my best!
I don't condone racism, bigotry, homophobia, etc.. I do not welcome it here. I acknowledge that I have biases that I've yet to unlearn. If there's something that makes you feel unwelcome in the things I write, please let me know and I will fix it ASAP.
I write these mostly on little to no sleep (thatā€™s when I get creative I guess?) so good luck.
Update: Apparently you can have too many links on one post (which was news to me) so the links are in the titles lol

since Iā€™m drawing more of them, here is a bit of background for my x2 Prowler PunkFlower AU (mix of comic and animated canon and my own delulu):
Tumblr media
- Hobart started out in a life of crime because he felt trapped by his circumstances (this follows the comic canon, he is the youngest of 9 siblings, but his dad left early, mom was an alcoholic, and eventually even his big brother left. Even though he was a tech genius, he struggled to make a living). Then after his right hand was injured after a job for Kingpin, he was saved by Peter (letā€™s say in Earth 42 Peter is not Spiderman, instead he runs a company.. which is also comic canon at one point).
Parker Industry gave him a prosthetic and provided a healthier environment for Hobart to grow, they sponsor him to be a kind of vigilante to keep the city safe (again, this is a bit based on the comic canon, but in the comics he was paralyzed from the waist down for a while, he also worked for Parker Industry for some time).
- For Miles G. after his father died, there was a time when he lost his direction in life. He was haunted by the fact that he could not protect Jeff. Earth 42 is already chaotic, he doesnā€™t know how to protect his mother (since Uncle Aaron also has his own business and canā€™t stay with them all the time).
- One night when he was walking back home, Miles was stopped by a robber, normally he could protect himself, but that day his mind was spiraling so badly and before he knew it, he was cornered. That's when Prowler saved him.
- Hobart was just on duty, the alley was dark so he couldn't see the other boy very well, he just turned his back to tie up the robber and told Miles to go home, it's very dangerous here.
- At that time, the Prowler symbol on the back of Hobartā€™s jacket seemed to engrave itself in the back of Milesā€™ eyelids - a call to fight, a call to protect. He made a decision then.
- Miles immediately ran to Uncle Aaron and told him of his intention to be a vigilante. Aaron was hesitant at first, but Miles said that if he didn't train him, he would go find the Prowler himself and ask him for help. Aaron was worried that Miles would be taken advantage of by others, so he accepted to train and help him create tech.
- After a while, the two of them started blowing things up left and right in Brooklyn with Miles as the new Prowler, that was when Hobart realized that there was another guy running around in his symbol (there is a whole theme in the comics where Hobieā€™s Prowler gears keep being stolen by other ppl to impersonate him šŸ˜)
- He thought about telling the boy to stop, but seeing Miles punching criminals, confronting villains who are many times bigger than him yet was still not afraid, Hobart becameā€¦ curious? Want to know who that person is, why do they do this.
- Of course, when they meet, Hobart still asked Miles to not to carry his logo around, but Miles stubbornly argued that anyone can be a symbol, and he would not dishonour this one.
- In general, Hobart was impressed with Miles, but it took some time for both of them to gradually trust each other. After more than half a year, Hobart took the initiative to tell Miles his true identity, Miles then also took him to meet his uncle.
- After the two became closer, Miles began to help Hobart repair and maintain his prosthetic. Hobart also began to doubt his future in Parker Industry. He had never liked to be confined to a system, and although Peter helped him a lot, he still wanted to be his own person, fought for his own ideals. So as soon as Miles and Hobart were able to fix his prosthetic on their own, Hobart left Parker Industry and moved in with Miles.
- They started dating after 2 years of knowing each other (Aaron thanked heaven and earth that his nephew finally stopped blue-ball that Hobart boy, his head hurt every time he has to witness their awkward flirting šŸ˜šŸ˜), when Miles G. met Miles 1610, he and Hobart had been officially dating for a few months.
So basic timeline: first meeting Miles G. was 13 / Hobart was 15 -> worked together as Prowlers team at 14 / 16 -> Hobart left Parker Industry / they started dating when Miles is 15 and Hobart is 17 -> meet Miles 1610.
Well thatā€™s all for now, so when I draw that AU itā€™s based on that groundwork. Cheers!

dc x dp prompt so Iā€™ve seen some cat thief, Danny auā€™s and some neko auā€™s and ghost adoption auā€™s but I havenā€™t seen any where Selena Kyle is ghost adopted as well
So Selena stole a magic artifact dedicated to a cat god ( this particular cat god was also a god of thieves, outcasts, and mischief )ļæ¼but there was an accident and unbeknownst to Selena she became a halfa and was immediately adopted by the cat god that unfortunately couldnā€™t communicate with her without her getting in touch with her powers that had yet to show up. That same cat god later found the Dannys and adopted them as well this does affect their appearance they turn into nekoā€™s. Jazz gets adopted later to and gets turned into a warlock of the cat god and gets turned into a neko as a result of the adoption/pact ( they can hide the cat features but they come out when they use there powers )
Anyway a couple years later after a disagreement with Bruce she finds a bunch of nekos in her living room claiming to be her younger siblings and they want to learn everything about being the worlds greatest thief and they want to teach her about her abilities? And some mess with the government and ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦oh they are on the run from the government because they arenā€™t classified as people and the justice league has ignored them and an entire townā€¦ā€¦. oh itā€™s time for some serious pettiness
Danny, elly, Dan and jazz are all sent to Gotham to meet their adopted oldest sister and learn to cause trouble and mischief all thoroughly done with the us government they are going to be terrorizing until the justice league gets their stuff together and fixes the anti-ecto acts ļæ¼
So amity park can freely come and go from the realms but they choose to stay and just visit and cause chaos in there old home world and are more than willing to help mess with the justice league for fun just so long as nobody gets too hurt and the amity parkerā€™s will actually help the heroes if it entertains them/ if needed ļæ¼

kai parker x reader
summary: kai + magic + boredom = trouble
tags: high school au, siphoning, magical fingering, masturbation (semi-public)
word count: 1.8k
a/n: i tagged this right next to my dad; you're both 18 in this!
Tumblr media
ā€œYou have to promise to use this wisely and not get caught with it. Not in school, and certainly not at home,ā€ you reiterate to Kai for maybe the third time in twenty minutes.Ā
ā€œI know, I know! Trust me, princess, I know the risks.ā€
ā€œIf it runs out, I can give you more, but if my parents suspect somethingā€™s up, theyā€™ll find a way to contact yours.ā€
ā€œBut what if I run out before the dayā€™s over and itā€™s just wasted? If I donā€™t use it, it drains.ā€
You sigh. ā€œWhat are you suggesting?ā€
ā€œI donā€™t knowā€¦ canā€™t I just play with it a little? I canā€™t do that much damage during school hours. Worst I could do is make some kid trip over his shoelaces.ā€
ā€œKai!ā€
ā€œIā€™m kidding! But seriously, Y/Nā€¦ā€
ā€œOkay, I see your point. Do whatever you want with it, just donā€™t get caught.ā€
ā€œAnd if I run out, youā€™ll give me more?ā€ He hates to sound greedy, but heā€™s desperate.
ā€œOf course. I canā€™t imagine what itā€™s like to not have permanent access, so as little as I use mine, I might as well give it to you.ā€ He nods. ā€œBut again, be careful.ā€
ā€œI will.ā€
ā€œOkay. Weā€™re coming up on the school now. Take my hand.ā€
He does, and then you nod to him to siphon. ā€œTell me when to stop.ā€
Your hands glow, but it doesnā€™t hurt. Kai says when he siphons his siblings, it hurts them. But you donā€™t feel any pain. If anything, your body warms with a tingly, pleasure-like feeling. After about thirty seconds, you start to feel a little dizzy though, and decide thatā€™s a good time to cut him off.Ā
ā€œStop.ā€
He drops your hand immediately. ā€œSorry.ā€
ā€œItā€™s okay. No pain, just a little dizzy.ā€
ā€œOkay,ā€ he confirms. Heā€™d hate to hurt the one person whoā€™s ever given him any love and attention.Ā
ā€œHow do you feel?ā€
Kai smiles as the magic runs through his veins. He lets out a small moan that settles in the pit of your stomach. ā€œGood,ā€ he finally answers. He then takes the pencil youā€™ve stuck behind your ear and makes it float in the air.Ā
ā€œGood,ā€ you say, stopping for a moment to kiss the side of his face. You take your pencil back as the school comes into view. ā€œSee you in class?ā€
ā€œMhm.ā€Ā
The two of you walk up to the doors together, then part ways for your first class.Ā
You have third period together, but Kai sits all the way in the back, while youā€™re in the middle row. The teacher assigned the seats, and rudely placed his kids by favoritism: most engaged in the front; most uninterested in the back. Kaiā€™s incredibly smart, but that comes to his disadvantage in school. Most of the lessons are boring; he passes them with flying colors and faces little challenge completing them. He finishes early, or already understands the material, and ends up tapping his foot or fingers during class. Mr. Peters interprets this as disrespect and boredom.Ā
Today in class, youā€™re reviewing the different systems in the body. Yet another topic that Kai has practically memorized. The final exam is in three weeks, though with the material being as difficult as it is, Mr. Peters has decided to start studying early. The material isnā€™t too much of a challenge for you, though Kai still has you beat in that matter.Ā
The man makes a list of topics on the chalkboard, then slowly goes down his list asking and answering questions about each one. He asks something and the class responds, but every so often, someone asks their own question, and he launches into a huge explanation for it. Itā€™s during one of your classmateā€™s questions that you suddenly start to feel a heaviness in the bottom of your stomach.Ā
Immediately, you put a hand to it. Your mind races to think of what couldā€™ve caused it. You hadnā€™t eaten anything weird that day, nor have you had any aches or pains all week. In the middle of your train of thought, the feeling shifts lower. Thereā€™s a pressure traveling south. In the next moment, it feels like circles being rubbed down along your body. Intentional pressure. Kai.Ā
Your brain provides the reason as soon as you recall your morning: you gave him magic.Ā
ā€œDo whatever you want with it,ā€ you had told him.Ā
Well, he sure is now.Ā
Slowly, you turn to face him. His hands are hidden from sight, inside his desk, but the smile creeping on his face is unmistakable. Heā€™s certainly messing with you.Ā
Stop, you mouth to him.Ā
The bastard only winks.Ā
You turn back around and cross your legs over each other, squeezing them tight. Thereā€™s no freaking way heā€™s doing this in the middle of class.Ā
The pressure suddenly increases. You can almost feel the pads of his fingers touching you - one on your clit, two brushing your folds. You bite your lip so hard it might bleed. Your hands are clenched into fists underneath the table.Ā
ā€œKai, stop,ā€ you think, hoping thereā€™s even a point one percent chance he can read your mind. He doesnā€™t, though, and if anything, mimics dipping between your folds, feeling your walls.Ā
ā€œThe organs involved in the endocrine system are- Y/N,ā€ your teacher stops mid-sentence to look at you, ā€œare you okay?!ā€
You release your fists, hoping to look less suspicious. ā€œYeah. I have a stomach ache. Do you- do you mind if I go to the restroom?ā€
Mr. Peters hurries to his desk for a hall pass. ā€œNot at all. Go to the nurse if it doesnā€™t feel better in ten minutes.ā€
ā€œYes, sir. Thank you.ā€ You take it and hurry out the door.
You spare a glance at Kai on your way out. He smirks at you when you look at him, but then looks back at his hands, clearly focused. The feeling sharpens, and you dash out the door.Ā
As soon as you reach the bathroom, you fling yourself against the wall in the nearest stall. Youā€™re still biting your lip not to moan, but donā€™t fight the need that brings you to unbuckle your belt to relieve some of the built-up tension. Criminally, it seems Kai can still control you despite the distance. You can still feel his finger-pads petting your walls. The pressure is still on your clit, and it only grows by the minute.Ā
ā€œFuck,ā€ you mutter, feeling yourself getting close.Ā
You drop two fingers to your clit, rubbing it yourself. Your knees almost buckle, and you have to push your toes against the edge of the toilet to not slip.Ā
ā€œGoddammit, Kai.ā€ Itā€™s a whisper, but you really hope no one else is in the bathroom right then.Ā
You focus on the way he feels on you, as well as the added pressure youā€™re giving yourself. Within two minutesā€™ time, you come. It hits you hard. Your knees almost give out, despite the way you tried to hold yourself upright. Your chest heaves; the sensation sends pleasure throughout your whole body. Your vision gets spotty, and soon, your lip starts to bleed. Itā€™s overwhelming in all the best ways.Ā
After another few seconds, Kai seemingly retracts his fingers. You curse him the minute he does, remembering youā€™re in school, and youā€™re supposed to be studying in class right now.Ā
The moment you get your bearings, you stumble to your feet and towards the sink. You wash your hands and grab onto the solid material to ground yourself; your brain is still swimming in post-high fuzzies.Ā
ā€œFuck you, Kai,ā€ you think, again telepathically, hoping he can hear you. If he can, youā€™d bet your life on the fact that heā€™s wearing his signature smirk.Ā
When you finally recover, you make your way back to class. You offer Mr. Peters a half smile and report that most of it is gone. ā€œMustā€™ve been something I ate this morning,ā€ you lie.Ā
He replies with his own smile and a nod, and goes back to teaching.Ā
The moment you sit, you turn to see Kai, who is, in fact, smirking at you. You give him a playful roll of your eyes before turning back to the lesson.
Luckily, thatā€™s his only shenanigan for the day. During lunch and your other classes together, he dares to act innocent. You would scold him for it during lunchtime, but Jo is sitting with you today, preventing that entirely.Ā
The walk back to school provides the perfect timing.Ā
ā€œMalachai Parker,ā€ you say in your best authoritative voice.
ā€œWhat? Did I do something wrong?ā€
ā€œDid I do something wrong?! Did I do- you know what you did.ā€
ā€œI donā€™t recall.ā€
ā€œThird period. You and your magic fingers. You-ā€
ā€œOh,ā€ he has the nerve to laugh, ā€œthat. Did you like that?ā€
ā€œDid I like that?! Kai, during class?!ā€
ā€œYou said I could do whatever I wanted as long as I didnā€™t get caught. I didnā€™t get caught.ā€
You scoff. ā€œI did not mean for you to do that!ā€
ā€œBut you liked it. Whatā€™d you do in the bathroom?ā€
ā€œWhat?!ā€
ā€œWhyā€™d you go to the bathroom?ā€
ā€œTo hide the fact you were fingering me in class! What do you think I went for?!ā€
ā€œDid you come?ā€
ā€œExcuse me?ā€
ā€œSimple question, princess.ā€
ā€œI did not-ā€
ā€œDonā€™t lie to me now.ā€
ā€œFine,ā€ you bite your lip, ā€œI did.ā€
He smiles. ā€œGot you. Knew you liked it.ā€
ā€œThat was so inappropriate! Iā€™d never think youā€™d be so bold. And when did you know when to stop? You did, like, ten seconds after I finished.ā€Ā
He chuckles like itā€™s a game. ā€œThe last five times Iā€™ve fingered you, itā€™s taken you five minutes on average to come. I watched on my watch; three minutes happened in class, two in the bathroom. I gave ten seconds to spare to either get you there if you needed extra time, or to ride you through it. Turns out, Iā€™m pretty spot on.ā€
ā€œPutting your brain to great use,ā€ you mumble, ā€œand my magic.ā€
Suddenly, he looks nervous. ā€œYouā€™re still gonna give it to me, right? I didnā€™t lose my chances to have it, did I? Because I can behave. Y/N, I promise. It wonā€™t happen again.ā€
You change your attitude to match his. ā€œOh, baby, no. No, Iā€™m not like that. Donā€™t you worry about stuff like that. Iā€™m still gonna give you magic, even if you use it in questionable ways.ā€
ā€œOkay. Iā€™m sorry.ā€
ā€œItā€™s okay. But one condition.ā€
ā€œYes maā€™am?ā€
ā€œWait until actual study time, like in the library, to do it. Not in class. Unless weā€™re watching a movie.ā€
ā€œDeal.ā€
ā€œGood.ā€
ā€œI love you, you little weasel.ā€
He scrunches his nose at the nickname. ā€œI love you, too.ā€ Then he chuckles. ā€œI fingered you in class.ā€
ā€œKai!ā€

Tossing around a Leverage au where Leverage Inc. is just a little bit more... legitimate.
Hardison's good at what he does, after all. He's the best, and he regularly makes covers just a little bit too good. It takes a few months before the others realize that not only have they got unbreakable aliases, they have clean original personas. There's suddenly no illegal history attached to Eliot Spencer's name, he's a security consultant. Sophie Deveraux is an acknowledged art aficionado and collector. Parker Leverage is the granddaughter and heir of Harlan Leverage III, stepping into her own. Nathan Ford is current CEO of the consulting company after proving himself by aiding in the arrest and trial of Victor Dubenich. And Alec Hardison? Well, he's tech support. No illegal hacking required.
Nate has the luck of the devil and an angel on both shoulders, things just come up roses for him, no matter what he lays his hands on. Nine months into running Leverage Consulting, he's approached by the FBI. There's something they can't quite get at, and sources pinned Nathan Ford and his team at the home of the Mascones before their fall. Taggert and McSweeten are good at their jobs for a change and notified their handlers of the strange group of people that helped them while claiming to be FBI. Nathan Ford is offered a deal. Work with the FBI with immunity and a blind eye turned to the alternate sources of revenue coming in. Leverage Inc. will remain completely under his control, but as consultants doing occasional work for the FBI. Nathan agrees on one condition: the FBI also turns a blind eye to anything weird that happens with Blackwell at IYS. Terms are set and agreed upon.
Leverage Inc. is now legitimate thieves. Taggert and McSweeten are their liaisons in the company and join them on occasional heists. As things go on, more thieves get a taste of helping without having to be afraid of being caught. Tara joins as a consultant to the consulting company. Quinn resists but eventually calls in Eliot's favor to say he was working with Leverage to get him out of a tough legal spot. Cha0s hisses like a feral cat and refuses to go anywhere near respectability. Archie gets to tell his family about his "secret past" working with the government and Parker gets to meet her adoptive siblings. They don't understand each other but Parker teaches her nieces and nephews to pick locks and helps them sneak out of the house without being noticed.
When Nate steps down he officially passes on CEO status to Parker, as is her right as heir. There's an intern section where kids with promise get to train under mentors to make more teams for continuing the good work of helping people, one case at a time.
(It's just a thought, and it came to me while thinking about how Nate and Sophie's wedding would look as a corporate event for Leverage Inc. and just... yeah. No thoughts just vibes right now but if anyone wants to take it and run with it/write with it, just let me know. Also I do understand that this would fundamentally change Leverage as we know it, I just wanted to get this out there as a sandbox au idea. Just What If, I don't actually think this is how Leverage should have been done.)

ur life of lux x star trek crossover is actually the greatest thing ever
oho, ty!! ive actually been drawing more of it (and rewatching all of life of luxurys videos/trying to catch up on luxury dark), and considering maybe making it into a short comic/fic if enough ppl are interested:D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
story stuff under the cut
OK SO my main idea for the story was that parker and chester were an engineer (chester) and stellar cartographer/some type of physicist possibly (parker) working in starfleet. (originally they were both gonna be from the same department but i thought it would make more sense for one of them to be an engineer in this au. i needed parker to be a blue shirt specifically so people would mistake him for a medical officer when really hes just The Stars Guy and we could have a scene like "you dont need a piece of paper to help people chester" sifjfjcj)
basically, its kind of a situation like the episode of tng where they have to go into a wormhole for Plot Reasons, but it turns out that one end of the wormhole is Unstable and they get STUCK super super far out of federation space in a tiny little shuttlecraft (well, the ferengi get stuck in that episode bc the humans have plot armour lmao)
basically the au would follow parker and chester as they try to get back to federation space, but parker is A Good Person so he keeps taking the shuttle off-course to answer distress calls to see if he can help. also occasionally they land on space-faring civilisations' planets just to like,,stock up on amenities or get some diversity in their environments so they dont go insane
every time they land on a planet, they end up in some crazy situation because theyre extremely unlucky. the lil drawings above are of two ideas i had (one of which is obviously the most recent luxurydark video but Aliems n with more of my storytelling style). i think the one with the romulan would be more like the life of luxury video where they were investigating the older brother who was neglecting his siblings? except they would be landing to try to answer the distress call of a crashed romulan ship with only one or two survivors and end up staying down there for multiple days to try to help
i do have a couple other ideas which ive been rotating in my head, if anyones interested in more of my insane ramblings shfhfjgj

Some miscellaneous stuff for the Fantasy High Leverage AU:
After getting kicked out, Kristen got taken in by Ankarna and Cassandra, who are living their best country-lesbian vibes out on a farm together---a farm which eventually gets in financial trouble and almost gets shut down by a corporation, which is how the crew learn about Kristen's past before she was a hitter. The farm winds up doubling as a safehouse. (Also, Ankarna wears flannels and has a shotgun, and Cassandra does tarot readings at their stall at the farmer's market on weekends. They also have a little black cat, with no relation to Kalina.)
Despite all the rumors swirling around, the way Fig and Fabian met is surprisingly mundane: when Gilear moved from Portland back to London after he and Sandralynn divorced, Fig went with him, and she got enrolled in the same school that Fabian was attending. The two of them became fast and immediate friends, wound up becoming the most popular kids there due to their combined chaos and the fact that they were kind to those who needed it, and were pretty much inseparable from that point forward. And when Fig introduced Gilear to Fabian's mom, who'd been widowed for a while and was looking for someone stable... well, as much as Fabian complained, it meant that he and Fig were officially siblings. (They learned how to grift from Hallariel, who was a very well-renowned thief in her day. It's how she met Bill, after all.)
Fig is the sibling who's the "bad actor in a theater setting, good actor when she's breaking the law" type, though it's a bit more complex than that. She's amazing at coming up with a character on the spot, building off of the questions that people ask her, and remembering details so none of the information contradicts what she's already said, but she finds scripts "boring and restrictive," and always tries to put her own spin on things... which doesn't always fit well. She does get a little better at following a script of sorts when she's on the crew---at least, she learns to follow the plan.
Kristen hasn't gone by "Kristen Applebees" since she was fifteen---instead, the criminal underworld knows her by "Kristen Justice-Forester," referencing her adoptive moms. Mostly because that sounds generally more badass, but also because she really wants to forget about her old life as the church girl next door.
Gorgug's legal name is "Gavin Thistlespring," but he's been going by Gorgug since he was twelve---it was the name of his first ever D&D character, and it eventually became his hacker handle. (This is really because I just needed an explanation as to why a perfectly normal human in a world that's basically ours would be named "Gorgug." I do something similar for Fig in a lot of my AUs---her name's either just "Fig," or she's named after a character from a fantasy series that Sandralynn likes.)
Someone suggested that Kalina is the Sterling equivalent, and I liked it so much that I decided to make it canon---but instead of being Riz's former partner, she's his dad's old partner and mentor who was forced to help cover up Pok's death. She's not necessarily bad, but she does have a very black-and-white view of morality, and she's not a fan of Riz's new, less-than-legal idea of justice.
Adaine still has the Parker rep of being "crazy," but in a very different light. Rather than being a thrill-seeking ball of chaos who's an unpredictable wildcard in every way when the story begins, she's unsettlingly quiet, perceptive to the point where she can predict things minutes in advance, and acts seemingly without morality and with her own skewed logic. As she spends more time with the crew and warms up to them, however, everyone starts to see that Adaine is unflinchingly and unfailingly kind---and that once she actually warms up to you, she will talk nonstop about anything she's invested in, whether it be obscure history facts, thieving tips, or whatever show, book, or video game that one of the others has gotten her hooked on. She's just closed off as a defense mechanism.
Fabian is the sibling with a deep and personal bond with Riz---not that Fig isn't close to him, but Fabian and Riz shot each other when they first met, and you can't beat that. And while Fabian used to have a thing for Riz, he eventually realized that Riz wasn't interested in any kind of relationship, though neither of them fully had the words for it (because, y'know, this story still starts in 2008). Still, though, he considers Riz his best friend and vice versa, and once he's on the crew, he never dates anyone without introducing them to Riz first. And his affections tend to bounce back and forth between Gorgug and Ragh. Or both. Let's just say that Fabian's got the most romantic drama out of any of them.
Riz is still close with his mom, despite the fact that, as a lawyer and former cop, he knows that she probably wouldn't approve of what he does. He just tells her that he runs a private detective agency, which isn't too far from the truth---hell, it's their cover story, after all.
Fabian's father was the greatest thief in the world when he was alive, but that came with a lot of enemies, and that's not something that Fabian wants to deal with---not to mention, he's always been adamant about making a name for himself, and to not just skate by on the Seacaster name. If that means that he has to refer to himself as "Fabian Faeth," well... so be it. He reasons that it's Fig's last name. Not Gilear's.
Fig has never met her bio-dad before the story begins... but she does meet him eventually. There's a whole thing there.
Adaine does not kill Angwyn in her backstory. However, she does get to do that eventually, and it's cathartic as fuck.

Falling Without A Harness - Chapter 9
AU where Tom Ryder is still an asshole, just not a psychotic one. When Parker joins Colt on set, things between the siblings gets argumentative. How hard will she try to convince everyone of something only she seems to see?
Read the story here: prev / next
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Parker was dying.
Well, no, not really, but she was pretty sure that dying on the inside was the same kind of misery as dying on the outsideā€”something Colt would wholeheartedly disagree with, but, whatever, he wasn't around to dispute such a wild claimā€”and as she failed at yet another attempt, she quite literally could feel her sanity evaporating like water on a hot summer day. It was ridiculous that the instructions were only five steps; even more ridiculous that there were high school art students who could do this with their eyes closed while gabbing about what the prettiest Met Gala dress of the year was and contemplating what the next Suzanne Collins' book would be.
"I think she should write more prequel books," said high school art student was blabbering on from the other side of the shelf, and while Parker's eyes went crossed and frustration welled like a heavy weight on her chest, Melissa didn't seem to notice as her train of thought continued on a cross-continental journey. "I mean, don't get me wrong, I will always love Katniss and Peeta's story, and hearing about their kids would be interesting, but there are seventy some years of Games that we haven't even heard about yet. That's so much material for her to write about!"
Parker glanced at the mess lying at her feet; tape and paint and abused shelf liner was sprawled around her as if a bomb had just gone off, and while Melissa continued on her fifth monologue of the hour, Parker almost wished one would.
"ā€”did you see it? It was so good. Tom Blythe has to be my new celebrity crush. Right behind Tom Ryder, of course, but above Tyler Poser. Nothing against him personally, he just hasn't really done anything since Teen Wolf, you know? Andā€”"
She was pretty sure black spots were dotting her vision, and when she attempted for a sixth time to smooth the bubbles out of her liner, Parker swore her head was going to implode.
How did one talk so much?
And more importantlyā€”
"Jesus Christ!" she cried above the din of chatter. Melissa's voice cut off at the exclamation, but as she crossed one arm over the otherā€”ruler clattering to the ground in frustrationā€”the radio continued to play a steady stream of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. "I'm so confused!"
A steady silence came from the adjacent aisle for half a moment.
"You... don't get the Hunger Games prequel? I thought you read it."
"Oh my fuā€”" she started, before cutting herself off. Melissa had gotten on her last week about having such foul language, and while Parker really didn't care about being a bad influence on the next generation, she did care about the stupid little jar sitting on the front counter that had collected half of her weekly coffee allowance in just three days. Pinching her nose, she swerved, "fudge, I don't get how you're doing this. I really don't."
"Doingā€”?"
"Not Suzzanne Collins," she snapped before Melissa could even go down that particular road. Honestly, the girl never stopped talking. "I understand that. I read those books before you were even born, kid."
"Okay, I'm not that young, and you're not old enough to be calling me kid," her voice floated above the shelves; judgmental and scornful all in one.
Parker pinched the bridge of her nose, only for some wayward tape to get stuck to her cheek, and as she ripped it off her skin with a groan, she considered sinking onto the cold floor for a nap.
Said floor was a mess of art supplies, however, and so she elected to tap her foot in an impatient staccato on the ground. Knowing there was only one thing left to do, Parker swallowed whatever pride still existed after this little art project. "...I don't understand how to put on the shelf liners," she admitted. "It doesn't make any sense, and I'm wasting material, and I'mā€”I'm going to set this place on fire if I have to keep doing this!"
A tut followed by Birkenstocks on hard wood before Melissa was popping around her side of the shelves. She looked too cute to be doing something misery-inducing like thisā€”bubble braids over each shoulder, mascara and glittery white eyeshadow to balance out the glow of highlighter on her cheeks and nose, lips a soft bubblegum pink to compliment the pale color of her sweaterā€”and Parker added it to the list of things that her employee did to annoy the shit out of her.
Teenagers were supposed to be pimply and awkward; when did the next generation start skipping that phase to jump right into cute outfits like that?
"What are youā€”?" she started, only to zero in on the absolute disaster that was Parker's attempts at interior design. The shelf liner was warbled and misshapen, cut too short on one side and too long on the other, and at her feet half a yard of wasted material lay sprawled. "Parker! Do you have any idea how expensive this stuff is?"
Parker blinked at her. "Do Iā€”? Of course I do! I was the one that bought it in the first place!" she snarked incredulously.
"Then why are you wasting it?"
"Wellā€”becauseā€”I'm not doing it on purpose!" she blustered.
Melissa clearly didn't seem to believe that if her raised brow was anything to go by. As if Parker had woken up that morning with the single goal in mind of making this process as difficult and expensive as possible.
Yeah, right.
Parker hadn't been stealing eggs and bread from her brother's when she visited just for the thrill of the grift.
"The instructions don't make any sense," she continued to defend herself; though, the fact that she needed to in the first place was ridiculous. It was her shop, afterall, and she was the owner. Oh, right. She was the owner. "I knew we shouldn't have done this. The paint and decorations look good enough. Why, oh why, did I let you talk me into doing shelf liners too? You know the books are just going to cover the pattern, right? No one will see them."
That seemed to upset Melissa, and in response, the teenager's entire face contorted into something righteous.
"Firstly," she said, flinging up a electric blue nail, "everyone will see them. The books are only so big, so the liner is still visible even when the shelf is full, and when people take books off the shelf it adds character to the store. And secondly," she continued, ticking another finger up into the air, "I've already finished three whole shelves in the time it's taken you to do half of one. Improperly, too. It's not impossible. You're just bad at it."
"Ugh!" Parker's mouth fell open. "Excuse me. I'm not bad at it."
"Could'a fooled me."
"You know," she snarked while planting her hands firmly onto her hips. Melissa didn't seem intimidated one bit, and she watched as the teenager gently pulled up her crumpled liner. "You're lucky I'm your boss because someone else might fire you for sass like that."
Melissa shot her a blithe look while dropping the ruined liner to the ground. Within seconds, she cut a new pieceā€”perfectly sizedā€”and calmly started lying it down. "Okay, sure, Park. Whatever you say."
"I could!"
"Uh-huh," the girl said again, clearly not buying into the power play for a second. Parker might have taken more offense to that if, well, Melissa wasn't right. She never had an employee before, but Parker didn't handle workplace confrontations well, and she couldn't imagine ever firing anyone. Let alone her best customer.
Still. She could at least pretend to be intimidated.
Before Parker could argue that point, Melissa stepped back from the shelf with a flourish to reveal a perfectly placed, smooth and colorful liner.
"Son of a..." Parker muttered at how easy she had made it look. Not to mention the fact that it did look really good. She could already picture how much character it would add once the shelves were re-stocked with their books. "How did youā€”?"
"It's honestly so easy. Like, I'm embarrassed for you."
Andā€”yeah.
Parker was definitely dying.
"I liked you better when you only came in once a week," she announced, dropping the wasted paper into the trash bag. "You were a lot nicer then, at least. And you already gave me money instead of costing me heaps of it."
Unbothered, the teen popped her bubblegum with a shrug. "You were a lot cooler then, too."
"Whatā€”?" she cried, tracking around the shelf in Melissa's wake. The teenager seemed pretty pleased with herself, and as she giggled into her hand, Parker propped her shoulder against the wall with a glower. "Oh. Hardy-har-har. Hilarious. Let's all pick on Parker; that seems like a fun way to spend the day. How about this? You can finish this little project yourself since it was your idea in the first place."
That managed to wipe the smirk off of her face, and Melissa responded by stomping her foot. "This place is huge! There's no way I can finish this on my own."
"Please," Parker rolled her eyes, not buying that for a moment. "You've done six times as much as me in an hour, and better too. It's like you saidā€”I suck at this."
"I didn't say you suck."
"Bad, suck, they're all the same insult. Are you regretting the sass now?"
Melissa scowled. "Fine. But I want to re-negotiate my salary."
That wiped whatever smug look Parker was wearing off her face in seconds, and as if this was a game of tug-o-war, the smugness transferred back to Melissa in the following seconds. So smug, in fact, that she started humming to herself as she set to work on the next line of shelves.
Shaking her head, Parker couldn't do anything but laugh. "Fat chance of that! You're already robbing me blind with the stupid swear jar. Besides, this whole thing was your idea; you wanted the job, and now you got the job. You don't get to re-negotiate your hourly pay when you've barely been here a month. That's not how employee contracts work."
"America as a late stage capitalistic society is failing and is not what you should be basing a business model on, but if that's how you want to play it, fine. This is a supply and demand market. There's nothing to say I can't negotiate my salary when my needs as an employee go up. Your demand has changed, ergo my supply for you has changed," she chirped, and not for the first time, Parker was wondering when teenagers became so socially aware. When she was Melissa's age, she babysat for five bucks an hour, and most of that was just spent making sure the kids didn't swallow their Gumby doll. Needs of an employee her ass. "Besides, we agreed on that salary when I thought I would have help doing the manual labor."
"You're awfully smart for someone that didn't read the fine print."
Melissa paused in her work to cross one arm over the other. Andā€”fuckā€”how was she being intimidated by someone wearing a best friends forever necklace?
Saved by the tinkle of the front door bell, Parker broke off their stare down to give the girl a flippant gesture that would definitely not hold up in court as any sort of agreement, before moving towards the front. She didn't even care that they were closed, a customer was more than welcome at the moment. Even a neighborhood cat would do.
Melissa trailed after.
"All I'm saying isā€”" she started.
"Ah, ah, ah. No money talk in front of customers. It's totally kitsch," Parker chirped over her shoulder.
"It's Sunday. We shouldn't even have customers. Can't we just tell them to leave?"
"And they say good customer service is dead," said customer drawled from the front counter as he pilfered through her bowl of mints. Several clattered to the floor as he tried to dig out his favorite flavor, and with a wince, Parker watched him not-so-subtly nudged them under the counter with his shoe as if it hadn't happened at all. "Er, those were already down there when I got here."
"Ass," she rolled her eyes, bending over to scoop the mints up before mice decided to add themselves onto the list of things she had to deal with. She was already stuck between two pestering leeches, a third infestation was not ideal.
Before Melissa could complain, Parker stuck a dollar into the swear jar.
"Whatever. Tom, we were justā€”" Melissa pushed past Parker with an exuberance that had been lacking moments before. It deflated the moment she got a better look at him, however, and the girl's grin slipped into a sour frown. She crossed one arm over the other to peer suspiciously at the blonde. "Wait, you're not Tom."
Colt experienced a variety of emotions in a single second, and Parker couldn't help but laugh when he let out an offended squeak.
"Whatā€”how does she know Tom?" he hissed.
Parker dumped the fallen mints back into the bowl with a shrug. "He's stopped by before. She's a huge fan. Number one, apparently. She's seen all his stuff."
"Twice," Melissa added.
Parker pointed at her. "Twice," she reiterated, just knowing that it would piss Colt off.
Just as expected, he responded by rolling his eyes with a second, high-pitched groan. It sounded like he was in pain. "You're a fan of Ryder? Seriously?"
Melissa squared her shoulders at him. "Seriously."
"You do know that he wears a wig, right?"
She huffed. "No, he doesn't."
"Uh, yes he does."
"Does not."
"Does too."
"Doesā€”"
"Okay, that's enough of that," Parker interjected with a groan of her own. What had started off as an amusing blow to her brother's ego was quickly turning into a headache. "Melissa, don't bully him. He has a sensitive ego."
Colt threw his arms upā€”bowl of mints scattering everywhereā€”to cry, "Parker! That's notā€”I don'tā€”who even is this?"
"Who am I? I work here. Who are you?" she shot back, bright eyes narrowed into slits. Parker could imagine her in high-school now, scaring off boys left and right, and if her brother didn't have the mental maturity of a middle schooler, she might have let them argue a little bit longer.
Alas. Colt's weakness was women, and she didn't fancy giving him chest compressions when he inevitably choked on his pride.
"Melissa," she gestured, "this is my brother, Colt. He's a professional stuntman, and has been Tom Ryder's stuntdouble for years. That how I met him in the first place. Colt, this is my new employee, who also happens to be a teenage girl, Melissa."
In unison, the pair gave cagey hmphs.
"Nice to meet you or whatever," Colt sniffed.
"Yeah," she responded with a blithe look. "Totally."
Parker glanced between the pair; both had matching postures, arms crossed, arms averted, neither wanting to acknowledge the other, and she pinched the bridge of her nose with a heavy sigh. Although, to be fair, only one of the two was an actual adult. Despite how Melissa might carry herself from time to time.
Remembering this, she steered the conversation back to more important things. "If I step out for lunch with Colt, do you think you can finish the shelf liners? You can invite one or two friends to hang out. If they help, I suppose I can pay them too."
Pettiness forgotten, Melissa gave Parker a wide-eyed look. "Really?"
"Flat rate. Fifty for the day, a max of two friends. Just no posting on instagram or snapchat orā€”you knowā€”anything else. I don't need social media being my downfall before I even get started."
"Oh my god, you're so old, Parker. Who would even want to cancel you?" Melissa laughed over her shoulder before disappearing towards the back. Her cell phone was already dialing, and by the time she started pasting on liners, her friends were already on their way.
With that taken care of, Parker blinked over at her brother.
"Yes."
Colt, having replaced whatever book he was pretending to read, furrowed his brows at her. "Yes, what?"
"Whatever you're going to suggest we do, yes, please take me away from here before I commit a craft-themed crime."
"Is that a crime?"
"A violent one."
He clicked his tongue, tossing another mint into his mouth with a curious side-eye across the counter. "Maybe I just wanted to stop in and see how things were looking. You were talking about it at the party so much I figured I'd have to see it eventually."
That was a lame excuse and they both knew it. Colt may have been her biggest cheerleader, but her brother didn't know the difference between paint and lacquer. Not to mention that he was red-green colorblind, and would certainly have a hard time noticing any change in paint around them.
"Coooolllltttttt," she whined.
He quirked his brow at her. "Seriously?"
"Please?" she asked, slumping across the counter. When that didn't work she attempted to flutter her eyelashes at him. That only provoked an eyeroll from him, and she deflated with a moan. "I'll ber lurnch," she muttered into her sweater sleeves.
He lifted a finger to his ear, patronizing and provoking all in a single sweeping gesture. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't get that. What did you say?"
Atop her arms, she glared before slowly reiterating, "I'll buy lunch."
That he understood.
The bastard.
"Well, why didn't you just say so?" he cooed, and when he attempted to pat her atop the head, Parker swatted him away with a glare. She was already reconsidering going anywhere with him, but a single glance towards what was awaiting her in the back of the shop had her sitting up straight. "I have to go to set today for some wardrobe fittings and thought you'd want to come with. Might as well see how the magic is made. We're gonna be late if you keep moping, though."
"We wouldn't have been late if you didn't get all mouthy with Melissa," she snarked while gathering her things. Feeling a bit guilty about leaving the kid to finish the work, she dug a twenty out of her wallet. "I'll be back later! There's money on the counter to get lunch for you girls!"
She got no responseā€”as a mom rarely did with a teenagerā€”and it took Colt tugging her by the elbow to get Parker to step outside. His truck was parked right in front of a fire hydrant.
She raised a brow at him, utterly unimpressed.
"What?" he asked when he caught the look she was shooting him. And, as if it wasn't a low-stakes crime that he was committing, Colt just grinned. "Relax, grumpy-pants. It's a Sunday. Fire hydrants don't count on Sundays. Now get in before we really are late."
There was a lot to say to that, but Parker didn't bother wasting the energy, and with an easy-going grin of her own, she clambered inside.
---
An hour later and Parker finds herself propped on an overflowing table filled with sewing needles, accessories, pens, papers, and a binder flush with polaroid photos of her brother from every angle. The film's wardrobe department, despite his warnings in the car, was more than thrilled that Colt had brought along his sister, and while he was poked and prodded, shifted left and right on a pedestal for everyone to critique, Parker had been set up with an iced coffee, some freshly made baklava, and front row seats to the most amusing thing she had seen in weeks.
"I think the crotch is too tight," Betty said, tugging on the material with long, sharp fingernails that Colt eyed like they were a sleeping snake. "See how it's bunching, we need to let it out, or maybeā€”see this? We could tryā€”"
"No, no, no, it doesn't need to be let out," Sasha, a blonde woman with oversized cat-eye glasses tutted. "It's supposed to be tight. Remember?"
"It'll rip."
"It'll be fine."
"I suppose for standing, but I think he'll be wearing them for a running sequenceā€”"
The ladies bickered back and forth, hands clawing too close for comfort at her brother's privates, and every so often he would wince when they tugged a little too hard. Parker, watching all of it, giggled every time it happened.
"How come I've never been brought along to fittings before?" she mused, a Cheshire-like grin in place. He had been standing up there for the lasty forty minutes, and every time she took a sip of her drink, Colt would look a little more green in envy at their difference in treatment. "This is fun."
"Fun," he said, mocking her with an eyeroll. "You come up here and try this."
"I happen to think I would look amazing in those pants. I have the ass for them, anyway," she chirped, and Sasha took a break from her bickering just to laugh at the idea. Beaming, Parker added, "I didn't realize that wardrobe fittings for the stunt double would be so... invasive."
"Yeah, well, usually the pants aren't so tight. That's all thanks to Ryder."
"I bet they look good on Tom," she said, half teasing, half meaning it. Anything looked good on Tom as time had proven again and again; from covered in sweat, puking in a toilet to wearing Gucci brand glasses, she had yet to see the guy look bad. Speaking of, "shouldn't he be here too?"
Colt, adjusting the tight collar of his leather jacket, shot her a look. "He's probably staring at himself in a mirror somewhere. That's how they trap raccoons, you know. They get so distracted by their own reflection that they forget to run off before the coon dogs get them."
"That's not a thing."
"Sure it is," he said, twisting on the pedestal as the ladies started to adjust the inseam of the pants. He eyed their gleaming needles nervously as they continued on their warpath across the fabric. "You should watch Animal Planet sometime. They did a whole episode on it."
"On how to catch raccoons?" Parker reiterated, absolutely not believing her brother for a second.
"It was a special."
"Maybe a Looney Tunes' special," she deadpanned with an eyeroll. Colt's mouth propped open in argument, only to freeze up when two pairs of hands started plucking the fabric across his butt, and she watched his face flush red. "Seriously? You're such a child!"
Being called out, Colt scowled at his sister. "Am not."
"Are too."
"Amā€”you know what?" he caught himself before he could go on his second preschool tirade of the day. Parker sipped her drink with an impish gleam in her eyes. "Whatever. You're supposed to be amusing me, not stirring up shit. Tell me something interesting."
"Sure, Caesar," she rolled her eyes. "What would your highness like to be amused by?
"I don't know! Anything. Likeā€”what were you and Melissa doing today at the shop that had you running scared?"
She blew a raspberry, spinning slightly on the table to snatch up an oversized top hat. She didn't have a clue what sort of movie it would be acceptable forā€”definitely not a sci-fi oneā€”but she traced the stitching with a bored eye anyways. "Shelf liners. They're way harder than they look, and she can get mean when she wants to be. I swear she acts like she's the boss sometimes."
"Ooooh," he teased. "Scared of a teenager?"
"You should see her first thing in the morning. She must wake up at five am to do her beauty routine, and anyone with that sort of willpower should be feared. I think I'll have to move when she finally saves up for her car. God knows the roadways won't be safe."
"Just because you can't wake up before noon without a liter of coffee doesn't mean everyone else can't. Some people are naturally early risers."
"Says the guy that slept for nineteen hours straight once."
Colt shot her a cross look. "I had a concussion."
"All the morning reason not to sleep that long. Isn't rule number one of head injuries that you're supposed to wake up every so often for a health check?" she asked.
Her brother popped his mouth open to argue, finger poised, before he slowly let it drift down to his side. His silence spoke volumes, however, and she raised her brows at him with a smug smile.
"Oh, like you're so perfect," he huffed irritably.
To which she beamed, plopping the top hat onto her head with a flourish. "Maybe I am. Ever thought about that? I'm pretty, popular with famous people, and am the reigning champion at beerball five years running."
"You cheat at beerball," he snarked before the rest of what she said caught up to him. With a gesture, Colt flexed on the pedestal, adding, "and you're not the only hot Seavers. Look at me? See how these pants are hugging my curves? You wish."
Parker laughed at that, couldn't help it if she tried. Her brother was so ridiculous that at times the way he spewed word vomit surprised even her. Not to mention the fact that he was her brother, best friend on too many planes to count; it was hard not to be in a good mood when hanging with him. Even if she was watching him get pampered like a princess before an upcoming ball.
Speaking of, "so, you don't think Tom will be around?"
Something bewildered cracked across his features at the same time that Sasha and Betty told him to step down from the pedestal. The ladies took their notes to the table, adjusting this and that, while Colt stepped behind a privacy screen. She could hear him grunting as he tried to maneuver out of the pinned clothes without sticking himself.
"Do we need to talk about this?" his voice echoed.
"About what?"
"You. Tom. Whatever weird relationship the two of you have going on," he continued, before yelping when he did stick himself on a pin. Sasha rushed behind the screen to help him get out of the pants, and when she returned, she had the garments in hand. "It's sickening to even think about."
"How is us being friends sickening?" Parker echoed.
"Becauseā€”youā€”heā€”the guy is an ass!"
"He's not an ass," she argued back, surprising herself at how quickly she came to his defense and how little she actually cared. There were few things her and Colt disagreed on; siblings that knew each other as well as they did often had minor squabbles, but nothing ever world-changing or big. Yet, it didn't feel right to let him say those sorts of things. She could consider why later. "He's just... misunderstood."
"Misunderstood?" his voice pitched behind the screen, before he was stepping out in a totally new suit. It was black and yellow, leather, emboldened with the NASA logo, and for a moment she forgot entirely what they were talking about to ogle it appreciatively.
"Ooh, nice job ladies, I like that one."
Colt paused, glancing down at himself. "It is nice," he said in surprise, twisting and turning in the mirror. As he smoothed the material down, he added, "comfortable too. Is this worn much in the film?"
Betty checked her notes. "Looks like he wears it in a few scenes. Oh, looks like you should be wearing it for a harness drop, so make sure you tell us if it's too tight anywhere," she said as the women headed back over to him with their tape measures and pins. "Good?"
He stretched up and down, left and right, before gesturing to the armpit seams. "Probably could be loosened a bit."
She nodded, and the ladies got to work on that, as Colt returned his attention to his sister. Clearing his throat, he continued their earlier disagreement. "I can't believe you of all people think he's misunderstood."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Uh, hello? Remember the whole coffee thing?"
"I think I understood him perfectly well then," she argued, top hat shifting on her head as she gestured. It was surprisingly heavy, and Parker fixed its lean half-heartedly. "He was an asshole during that encounter, and several encounters since then."
"Then what's with the whole PR parade?"
"I just think he's, I don't know... not always like that."
Colt stared at her; blinking, wide-eyed, with wheels spinning slowly between his ears. She swore she could smell the smoke from there, and Parker prepared herself for whatever ridiculous conclusion he was going to come once the spinning stopped.
"You didn't drink any kool-aid recently did you?"
And, yup. She saw that one coming from a mile away.
"Jesus Christ, Colt," she rolled her eyes, huffing. "When are you going to stop with that Jonestown shit?"
"It was a big deal! More people should be talking about it."
"Yeah, like, three decades ago. No one is trying to copy it with kool-aid. That would be a little bit of an obvious tactic, don't you think? I don't know how many times I have to tell you that I'm not in a cult!"
He held his hands up to placate her, before dropping them back down at Sasha's disgruntled tsk-ing. Parker supposed the ladies would be amused by their conversation if they weren't so intently focused on their work. That or they would be seriously concerned for the siblings' mental welfare.
"I'm just checking. Cult leaders are hard to spot you know. That's their whole gimmick. They look normal, just like you and me, and then next thing you knowā€”wham! Indoctrination. Cult. Weird clothes and bad bathing habits and no teeth. It's a slide, not stepping stones, Park. Tom Cruise fell for it in the eighties and hasn't gotten out since"
"Yeah, well, I don't have any sort of money to give a potential cult leader so I don't really think I'm a good target in the first place. Plus, Tom Cruise seems to be doing just fine with the whole Scientology thing," she replied drolly. He didn't have an argument to that, and she shook the melting ice in her cup half-heartedly. "All I'm saying is he's under a lot of pressure from a lot of people. Isn't it possible that he overreacts sometimes?"
He didn't look pleased with her line of questioning one bit, shaking his head at her like a disappointed parent. "I don't think you should be friends."
"What?"
"I don't like it. I don't like it at all."
"Now who's drinking the kool-aid?"
"I'm just saying! It's weird," he continued, gesturing to her a second time only for Betty to snatch his arm and tug it back down with a glare. Colt didn't seem to notice, however, as he barreled on in the way that idiots often did. "First, it's the bookstore. Normal, no biggie. Then, it's the little giggling and laughter. Odd, but whatever. But then, all of the sudden, he has an invite to my exclusive birthday partyā€”"
She threw her head back with a groan, top hat tumbling to the table. "I already apologized for that!"
"ā€”and next thing you know, our Friday night is being highjacked by some ritzy party in upper LA where I have to wear my nice shoes and act like an adult. I'm telling youā€”rockslides only take a pebble."
"Are you saying you didn't have fun?" she asked with a pointed look, to which her brother hedged and hawed instead of answering. Like a guilty dog that knew it was in trouble, he avoided eye contact. Replacing the top hat onto her head, she waved her hands around. "See? So what's the problem? You got along then, too, didn't you?"
"Well, yeah."
"Then isn't it possible you misjudged him too?"
"I've known him a lot longer than you."
"But you've never actually spent time with him outside of work."
"For good reason."
"Really? Because you always seem to get along when I'm around," she continued, not ready to let the point go if only because she needed it to stick. "So, how good can the reason be? Maybe he's grown up since you first met him, and you just don't want to accept that."
It was a solid argument, they both knew that.
But Colt was as stubborn as she was. He sniffed. "Well, I still don't like it. Is something going on between you two?"
"Like what?" she asked, despite knowing exactly what was going on between the two of them.
They had kissed. Once. Twice. Three times. Then a few more times until she couldn't really remember what was happening. All she knew was one moment they were kissing and the next moment she was riding home with Colt and Jody, bewildered, breathless, and giddy.
"I have no clue what you're on about," she said despite knowing exactly what he was on about, deciding that gaslighting her brother might be the best option at the moment. "We're just friends."
"Well, obviously," he scoffed, as if anything else was beyond the scope of his imagination.
Whichā€”fair.
She couldn't exactly begrudge him for thinking that there was no chance in hell Parker could kiss someone like Tom Ryder. She could barely believe it, and she was the one that had done it. Still, she scowled at him, contemplating it she wanted to drop the subject entirely or tell him in explicit detail all the reasons he was an idiot, but before she could, the fitting room door opened, and in he walked.
He looked good.
He always looked good.
But today he looked especially good with his dewy skin and jean jacket. Or, maybe, Parker was just looking at him in a new light, and when his gaze landed on her, she couldn't help but grin at him.
"Hey, Tom," she said with a little too much enthusiasm. If he thought it was odd, however, he didn't comment on it. Just ran his gaze over her.
"Nice hat. I'm glad you're finally taking my advice and trying to improve your style, but this isn't exactly what I had in mind."
"Theā€”? Oh!" Parker snatched the top hat off her head with a blush, and in face of her karma, Colt snorted with pleased laughter. Ass. She shot him a side-eye before chirping, "it's Colt's, actually. I told him it looked ridiculous, but the prom is coming up, and Jody is just so exited. You should see his cummerbund. Straight out of the eighteen hundreds."
That effectively wiped the smirk off his face, and Colt started to argue just as Betty ushered him towards the privacy screen for another fitting.
Pleased, she blinked back at Tom.
"What are you doing here?"
"Colt dragged me along for his fittings. Something about being scared of the fashion department team," she joked in a half-whisper, gesturing to where he was hidden behind the privacy screen knowing that he wouldn't be able to hear her. "What are you doing here?"
"I just finished my fittings."
She perked. "Oh, you're done, then?"
He nodded just as Colt re-appeared from behind the screen. The flight suit had been replaced with a suave looking tuxedo that seemed to fit wrong in every place it could, and without knowing fashion at all, Parker had a feeling it would be a while before they finished pinning this particular look. Feeling both rebellious and like a high-schooler with a crush, she cast her brother a look. He immediately caught it, and returned one of his own.
Don't you dare, he said.
She lifted a brow testily. Oh, I dare, the look said.
And just like that, Parker faced Tom and asked, "you want to get lunch?"
"With you two?"
"I don't think Colt will be finished for awhile," she said, mock sincerity in her voice. Her brother heard it, face blustered and annoyed, as she batted her lashes across the room at him. "We could always bring him back something."
"Butā€”!" Colt cried, gesturing at them so hard that he almost whacked Sasha in the head. He didn't even notice in his rush to argue, and it took both seamstresses to position him on the pedestal where they wanted him. "We were gonna get lunch!"
"Well, you're not done, and I'm starving."
"Iā€”I could be done. Right?" he asked, turning his own version of puppy dog eyes towards Sasha and Betty. Unlike Jody and their mom, however, it seemed that they were immune to his charms, and together, they tutted at him. "...butā€”but!"
"This one needs a lot of work on it," Sasha said, as Betty patted him on the back. "And there's still four more looks to get through before we move you to hair and makeup for mock-ups."
"Butā€”!"
"Don't worry Colt," she cooed at him with a victorious grin, and she would have felt bad for abandoning him if he hadn't been so adamant about his opinion on who she could be friends with. Plus, he accused her of being in a cult four times a year; this was his penance. "We'll bring you back something."
"Do I even want to know what that was about?" Tom asked her once they were in the safety of the hallway.
Parker gave an impish look. "Just Colt being Colt. He gets mopey when he's hungry. Is Mexican okay? I really am starving."
His amusement turned scathing. "Mexican? That's all carbs. No fucking way, I just had my fitting done this morning, and I'm not going to have my pants let out."
She rolled her eyes. "Carbs are good for you," she tutted.
"Not that many."
"Rock, paper, scissors?"
Tom blinked at herā€”as if he couldn't believe she would suggest such a childish solutionā€”and started off down the hallway without another word.
"Wellā€”we can do two out of three!" she cried in his wake, and it wasn't until he disappeared around the corner did she realize that he might actually leave her to deal with Colt alone. Yelping, she rushed after him. "Okay, okay! Fine! Sushi?"
---
"I can't believe you actually eat this stuff," Parker whined twenty minutes later, a salad with more vegetables than she could name, quinoa, and some sort of vinaigrette dousing the top set out in front of her. The lettuce is limp when she lifts it with a fork, and she can't even pretend to find it appetizing as Tom munches through his. "Like, seriously? I'm not about to be Punk'D?"
He rolled his eyes at her. "You have to be famous to be Punk'D."
"I'm with you, aren't I?" she sassed, prodding the food like a toddler not allowed to leave the table before finishing their peas. She wrinkled her nose at the idea. "I get that salad is healthy or whatever, but don't you ever eat anything that tastes good?"
"This does taste good."
She shot him a look of disbelief to which he shrugged.
"I mean, kind of good," he corrected after a moment.
"It's disgusting. Why is it both limp and hard? You know an entire ethnic community eats all the carbs associated with Mexican food and they're thriving. Have you ever seen a Cinco de Mayo party? Unreal how much fun they're having."
"That's because they're drunk on tequila."
"Well, sure," she hedged, head tipping left and right as she tried to ignore the weird smell coming from the bowl in front of her. "But you gotta live a little, right?"
"I don't want to live a little," he corrected her, spitting out the word like it was distasteful. But he had that same sort of tone that he used when he was repeating something he heard a thousand times, but didn't necessarily believe. "I want to live to be a hundred, and I want to look good while doing that."
"Colt eats Mexican food," she argued.
"Colt isn't the face of a multi-million dollar movie franchise."
"No, just the body."
"Maybe you should have just gone out to lunch with Colt, then," he said, both look and tone cross.
And suddenly Parker felt like she had ceremoniously swallowed her foot in front of him. It hadn't occurred to her that he might have a touchy relationship with food, and guilt settled on her shoulders like a weight. She felt pretty stupid for not seeing thatā€”just like she had told Colt, the amount of pressure he was under at all times was not something either sibling would be able to comprehendā€”and five minutes into lunch she had already made an ass of herself.
"Sorry," she said, stuffing limp lettuce into her mouth as if to prove that she agreed with him. It tasted gross, though, and Tom definitely didn't miss the way she had to choke it down. "Mhmm, it's so... salad-y."
Whether it was her tone or the look she made while saying it, something about the act worked, and when he shook his head she caught the edges of a smile peeking across his face.
Feeling better, Parker aimed for more neutral territory.
"So, your party was fun," she said, before immediately realizing that was clearly not a neutral territory if the way he paused in his chewing was anything to go by. The last thing she wanted was to come across as some sort of lovesick teenager, and she nearly choked on her tongue to add, "I just meanā€”Colt and Jody really liked it. She got to network a lot. Plus, Colt has been dying to see your house for, like, ever."
"He has?"
"Sure," she shrugged. "You guys have worked together for almost a decade. I think he's always wondered what your life outside of work looked like."
Tom digested that information as slowly as he digested his food, and she managed another bite of soggy, lemon-flavored lettuce before he decided on a reaction. "I didn't realize that he really cared."
"What do you mean?"
Tom shrugged; one of the rare moments he actually looked awkward while talking about something, and Parker set aside her fork to wash the bad flavor down with some bitter tasting kombucha.
Bad. It was all bad. The health food industry had to be some sort of joke.
"I don't know; just never really thought about hanging out with Colt outside of the set. I told you the stunt guys don't like me."
"What?" she deadpanned. "You? That is such shocking news. I'm shocked."
Tom huffed, then laughed, before shaking his head at her. "Don't be an ass."
"Me? Never."
"Never," he echoed, clearly mocking her. She didn't mind though. It wasn't vindictive or mean, and if it made him feel better, her ego could handle a little mocking banter. Especially when his shoulders relaxed as if a weight was being taken off them. "Whatever. Glad they, uh, had fun."
"Well, you knowā€”open bar, secrets about the Hollywood elite. What wasn't there to like about the party?"
He nodded, another bite taken, as Parker miserably tried to force herself to eat her own food. When he had suggested a vegan salad spot, she hadn't been thrilled, but never in her wildest dreams did she imagine it would be this bad.
"Did, uh," he cleared his throat, "you enjoy the party?"
"Hm?" she hummed, not properly hearing the question as she tried to figure out if the brown thing in her bowl was a raisin or a date. Then she did, and Parker blinked up to find Tom watching her carefully. "Oh. Yeah. Yes. I had, you know, lots of fun. With Colt, Jody, er... you."
He glanced away, nodding, before peeking back at her. "Yeah?"
"Yeah. Yeah, it was... it was nice. I meanā€”not just the, erā€”you know. Not just when youā€”when Iā€”when we..." she overemphasized, face hot and red as she struggled to put her thoughts into words. She absolutely didn't want to sound like their kiss was the only thing she had thought about all weekend, but she also didn't want to act indifferent because dating had somehow drifted into a game of tag nowadays.
Not that they were dating.
Oh god.
It was one kiss. Obviously they weren't dating, and he probably hadn't even thought about it a second time, and that's probably not what he was asking about in the first place, andā€”she was obsessing, wasn't she?
Oh, god.
"...um," Parker choked, swallowing some more kombucha before remembering she actually hated the taste of it. Wiping her mouth, she slumped onto the table with an embarrassed sigh. "Can you just put me out of my misery, please?"
Tom lifted a brow. "You might do that yourself. Are you having a stroke?"
"Maybe."
He passed over his cup of water, and Parker took a couple small sips until her cheeks didn't feel so hot. He was still watching her, still eating his food, but it was clear from the sparkle in his eye and the smug curve of his mouth that he was greatly enjoying the show. "Just wanted to make sure you had fun," he said.
"I would have had fun if we just played twenty questions," she said, catching the way he hesitated in his eating, before continuing. The cocky gleam was gone from his eye, and something kind remained when he glanced at her. "Not to complain about the... other stuff, but I meant everything I told you. I don't hang out with you for an open bar."
Tom's gaze swept the planes of her face before he nodded. It was a confident nod, for once, and he spoke he almost sounded... happy.
"Well, that's a relief at least. With how much you drink, I'm a little worried between you and Gail I'm going to go bankrupt this year. I swear every party costs more and more."
"Can't you set a budget?"
"It's Hollywood," he deadpanned, and she supposed that was an obvious enough answer that the deadpanning was necessary. "You think anything is ever under-budget?"
Parker wouldn't really know; the only thing she stuck to a budget for was Bath & Body Works lotions and Uber Eats. Just like he had said though, if she didn't, she was confident that she would be bankrupt within days.
Shrugging, she quipped, "next time you can just invite Jody and I. By keeping Colt away, you'll probably spare yourself a few thousand on alcohol alone. Though, he did behave himself last time since he was the designated driver, but I swear he's put a few bars out of business from Happy Hour deals alone."
Tom, another heaping of lettuce down, jabbed a fork at her. "Think I'd be better keeping you away considering how many napkins you took."
"Oh, shut up. They're, like, fifty cents each!"
"You had at least a hundred in you purse when you left."
"Wellā€”" she threw her arms up, blustering, "it's not like I took all of them. Plus, when I sell them on eBay I'll give you a commission. Unlike when you got this fancy sci-fi role. I'm still waiting on my agent's fee for that one."
He shook his head at her. "Yeah, just hold your breath on that one."
With all the maturity she could muster, Parker stuck her tongue out at Tom, and with all the maturity he could muster, he chucked a carrot at her. It bounced onto the patio ground, and she noticed with a look of betrayal that not even the local squirrel population would touch it.
"Tom," she leaned forward, "I am begging you. I need carbs."
"You don'tā€”"
"I'm going to die. Dramatically. And not quietly. Everyone will know, and they're going to think you killed me, and the tabloids will never let that go. Forgot living to a hundred, you'll be seventy and in a retirement home. Please."
Her pleading did nothing.
So, taking drastic measures, Parker used all of her own acting experience to flutter her eyelashes at him, eyes wide and dog-like. And whether it was the pathetic way she threw herself onto the table, or maybe it was the smell of the hotdog cart from down the street, but after a long moment of begging, Tom's shoulder sank with a sigh.
"Jesus Christ, fine."
"Oh, thank god," she slumped, a disgruntled look towards her salad and kombucha before the idea of real food had her perking right back up. She had tossed their stuff in the trash before Tom could manage one more bite of his salad, and though he tried to look disgruntled by that fact, when she tugged him to his feet with a giggle, he was fighting off a smile. "Have you ever had the monster burrito from Lolita's? It has cream cheese and pickles."
"That sounds disgusting."
"I know!" she bounced in excitement, pulling him along after her, gabbing all the way.
Tom let her drag him down the street without any complaint, let her order him her favorite burrito, chips, and Mexican lemonade without arguingā€”though he did try to see the calorie count on the menu before she snatched it away from himā€”and because they were on an empty set on a Sunday no one paid them much mind.
A good thing, too, because if someone had, they might have noticed the goofy grin she was wearing, or the amused smile he was; and if they looked closer, they might have even noticed that even after they got to where they were going, Tom Ryder was still holding her hand as they waited in line, letting her lean against his chest as they waited on their orders, before sitting awfully close to her on a little stone bench outside.
But, no one noticed.
Not until her shrill ringtone broke through their game of twenty questions about an hour later as her brother complained about how hungry he was. And though he suspected something weird was going on, not even Colt noticed the sly smiles they shared with one another when they delivered his food as promised or the spot of wet lipgloss smeared on Tom Ryder's mouth.

DP x DC Gameshow AU
Two of the Batfam would be dared to do so (I'm thinking of Damian and Jason "Todd, I'm thinking to prove Thomas/Kent/etc wrong").
Meanwhile in the Amity Parkers it can be ANY pair; it can be:
- Tucker and Sam (dared by Danny)
- Danny and Jazz (Jazz talked him to do so, have sibling bonding and whatnot)
- Danny and Dani (also talked by Jazz)
- Fenton parents (need $ for whatever reason)
- Dash and Kwan
- Paulina and Star
- etc
Have the Batfam be bamboozled by these random civilians owning/almost owning them (them with actual training! The hell?) In a gameshow like Wipeout or American Ninja Warrior or Takeshi's Castle.

His Rose ~ Details
(Kai Parker x Bennett OC fanfiction)
content warnings/tags ~ Dark fiction, dom/sub dynamics, abuse, murder, childhood trauma (mentioned). Minors DNI
I don't claim ownership of The Vampire Diaries or its characters. All credits go to the rightful owner(s). I only own my original character(s).
K.P. Masterlist
This fanfiction is born from my dissatisfaction with the way Kai was criminally underutilized in the TVDU. Honestly, I found him annoying at first, but he grew on me as season 6 went on. Thru Chris Wood's charming performance, Kai stole the show for me. I'll never forgive the showrunners for a lot of things, including underutilizing Chris Wood in this role & not allowing this broken king to have a real redemption arc.
On the topic of the showrunners, I'll never forgive them for how they did Bonnie Bennett or the Bennetts in general with how they were limited to magical plot devices for everyone else's use without any appreciative focus on their power & how it could really benefit them. Even though I love Bonnie & Kai, my otp endgame for her has always been Bonenzo, but I also adore Klonnie ā¤ļø.
My AU changed and added plenty of lore around his coven & certain events. The plot follows the life of Bonnie's younger sister, Rosalina "Rose" Bennett-Ruiz. I go on to describe her below, but I'd like to state that she acts as Kai's antithesis as an innocent, fledgling witch. She's also Bonnie's support system. I always hated how the show often ignored that Bonnie lacked family around her that were unconditionally there for her. Bonnie's mom left when she was small, she lost her grams in season 1, and her father was a non-factor in her life until he returned... just to get killed off in front of her.
I wrote Rose & Bonnie's dynamic keeping in mind everything I hate about older sibling/younger sibling dynamics, like the one between Buffy and Dawn in BTVS. Bonnie deserves family that consistently supports her, encourages her to prioritize her well-being, and actually tries to lessen the existing load on her shoulders.
Another thing I kept in mind when adding Rose to my TVD AU is not to have her replace or take away Bonnieā€™s space in the plot. Now, I do give her Bonnie's plotline of being sent to the prison world in season 6, but this is essential to the story, and the way Bonnie was treated that season made me so sad that I have no problem taking traumatic experiences from her (of which she has more than enough) and giving them to Rose.
Okay... if you made it through my rant, congrats. I also want to offer my inbox as a place where anyone can offer up requests, scenarios, ask questions, even if you want to roast my cruddy writing... my inbox is open.

šŸŒ¹Rosalina "Rose" Bennett-Ruiz:šŸŒ¹
Born: March 18th, 1994 (18yrs)
Gender: Female | Height: 5ā€™1ā€ | Hair color: Brown | Eye color: Hazel
Race/ethnicity: Black and Latino/Hispanic
Species: witch (Bennett)
Titles: Rosy (Kai), littlest witch (by Kol), kid (by Damon)
Characteristics:
Rose is a gentle and kind-hearted person, always looking for the good in people and situations. She can be a people pleaser and overall naive when dealing with people, often seeing the best in everyone and believing in second chances
Family is important to her, so bonding with Bonnie means a lot. Due to her naivety and weakness, she can be easily manipulated and taken advantage of. Like Bonnie sheā€™s compassionate and tends to selflessly help others. But still with spells due to her insecurity & inexperience with magic
She enjoys singing, gardening (honing her nature-based magic, making potions & studying herbology), fashion (sewing & thifting) and cooking (food is her love language)
She has a strong aversion to blood & violence so spending time with vampires took a lot of getting used to
Trilingual: fluent in Spanish & Portuguese
Despite her demure demeanor and virginal innocence, with her stuffed animal collection, enduring love of cartoons and a lack of dating, sheā€™s a hopeless romantic that harbors the hidden desire to submit herself to a powerful dominant
Background:
Family: Bonnie Bennett (half-sister), Jamie Ruiz (half-brother), Abby Bennett-Ruiz (mother), Matteo Ruiz (father šŸ•Šļø), Sheila Bennett (maternal gmšŸ•Šļø)
Rose was raised in Summersville, North Carolina. She was a child model until 13 when her father tragically died. She was the captain of her high school majorette dance team. Her life drastically changed when Bonnie arrived on her doorstep.
Rose was 16 when she & Bonnie would finally meet. Bonnie and Elena came to Abby for help with a spell. Rose was shocked to find that she had an older sister as Abby never mentioned Bonnie or the life she left behind in Mystic Falls. She was even more surprised upon finding out about her magical bloodline and that supernatural creatures walked the earth. Unlike Grams, Abby never mentioned magic throughout Roseā€™s life and even went as far to suppress her magic with by binding it.
After Abby is turned by Damon, she decides to leave her family to gain control as a fledgling vampire. Rose moves to Mystic Falls with Bonnie where she learns magic from her.
Magic doesnā€™t come naturally to Rose. But she often helps Bonnie with powerful spells, offering herself as a conduit for channeling together.
Admittedly having a 50% accuracy rate with her own spells. Roseā€™s confidence & focus are hindered when chanting and spells drain her much quicker even when she tries channeling the energy around her. Despite this, Rose is determined to improve, valuing her one-on-one time with Bonnie and spending late nights on her own practicing & memorizing spells. She uses her magic for good and wants to prove herself as a capable witch.
She excels at herb studies. Often experiments with potions and creates charms using the herbs they grow in their garden.
Her role in the Mystic Falls gang is the ā€œBennett witch in trainingā€ or ā€œthe bringer of baked goodsā€ (according to Damon), since she often supplies their gatherings with fresh pastries. Everyone underestimates her power, even Bonnie. She tries to keep Rose out of danger unless she canā€™t help it.

šŸ”ŖMalachai "Kai" Parker:šŸ”Ŗ
Born: May 9, 1972 (22yrs)
Gender: Male | Height: 6'0" | Hair color: Dark Brown | Eye color: Blue-gray
Race/ethnicity: white/non-Hispanic
Species: siphoner (Gemini Witch coven)
Titles: abomination, black sheep, the defective twin (his coven)
Characteristics:
Charismatic with a charming smile. Upon meeting him, his charisma operates as a faƧade to hide his lack of empathy and his sadistic tendencies
Can be hard to read but thatā€™s because he struggles with expressing his emotions which stems from his abusive childhood. Heā€™s cold and relatively unfeeling with people, but once he lets someone in, heā€™s fiercely loyal and protective.
He can be observant, calculating and manipulative to taking advantage of someone and get what he wants
Heā€™s a sassy man, often comes back with quick quips and has a natural sense of humor (typically dark humor)
When heā€™s comfortable, he never shuts up, has no filter and sucks with certain social cues. After being alone for nearly his whole life, will talk anyone's ear off without realizing they are not willing to listen
Kai can siphon all of a witchā€™s magic without killing them. He controls how the process feels - at its worst, a fast searing burn to a slight tingle. Overtime, a witch will regenerate their magic
High libido!!- Heā€™s starved for touch and affection (though he would never admit that he needs anyone). Sexual desires reflect his sadistic personality as he enjoys dominating another person through absolute control and pain infliction
He likes raunchy comedies and media with half-naked women such as Bay Watch and MTV videos. A major foodie with constant cravings for sweet and salty snacks. He prefers snacking throughout the day but when he does bother to cook, itā€™s really good
He is fluent in old Latin, often found in grimoires and other ancient texts. When he was young heā€™d get his hands on old grimoires and study them, all the time to himself allowing him to hone his knowledge of witchcraft and technique
Background:
The Parker family is the head of the Gemini coven. Its patriarch, Joshua Parker is the coven leader. Kai is the eldest child, being half an hour older than his fraternal twin, Josette. Unlike Jo, Kai was born without the ability to generate his own magic, instead siphoning magic from lingering spells, objects, or other witches. When he was young, he would naturally gravitate toward the magic of his sister, so Joshua quickly decided to physically isolate Kai from everyone for fear of his son's "defect" hurting others.
As fraternal twins born of the coven leader, Jo and Kai would be set to merge on their 22nd birthday, where the winner takes the other's magic and coven leadership and the loser dies and is absorbed into the other but with the risk of Kai's siphoning ability giving him an edge in the merge, Joshua and Viviane continued having kids until she birthed another set of twins that would merge instead.
Kai's upbringing was lonely, spending most of his time locked in his bedroom up in the attic. Following his father's lead, most of his family excluded and demonized him. As he grew, Kai learned to internalize the cruel labels they gave him. If they wanted a monster, they would get a monster and on his 22nd birthday, May 9th, 1994, he would finally act on his boiling rage and resentment toward his family, unleashing the hatred he accumulated through a lifetime of torment onto his siblings when Jo refused the merge. To protect the twins, she would relent to merge with him but the coven was waiting and with the help of Sheila Bennett they banished him to a prison world of complete isolation.
Each year that passed only added to his hunger for revenge, left with nothing to do but plan his escape and seizer of coven leadership. He grew to take pride in what he had done to his siblings and his status as a sociopath capable of killing anyone who gets in his way without remorse.
AU-Specific Lore:
Tumblr media
Prison world Lore:
Prison worlds are created by Bennett blood sacrifice, meaning a Bennett must be bled to death so the gemini coven can channel her blood magic.
A prison world resets with the eclipse every 3 months.
Time works differently, so no one ages throughout their time there.
A prison world cannot create life so the only living inhabitants are those sent there or arrive via ascendant.
Kai is linked to his prison world so he canā€™t die. If something kills him, heā€™ll be out for a while depending on the damage but the magic will heal him back to life. Without Kai, the prison world falls apart so while heā€™s there, it sustains his life to sustain itself. Once he leaves, it ceases to exist.
The Ascendant - an ancient device created by the Gemini coven and a Bennett ancestor that only responds to a living Bennettā€™s blood magic. The ascendant is sensitive to magic in general, so even when the spell is done right, it will activate then fall apart. You only have one chance at the time of the eclipse to correctly do the spell, which Kai knows from experience because early on he tried collecting a vial of Bennett blood that he hunted down in a hospital and using Josette's magic he siphoned from a hidden dagger. Disappointment boiled over into rage when he did the spell beneath the eclipse, the ascendant disassembled, but he was not transported out.
The Gemini Coven Lair:
Exists as a interdimensional where the coven keeps ancient texts, grimoires, enchanted items (talismans, gems, ascendants, etc.), and materials for spells & potions
Infinite space that can be utilized by the coven leader: often includes a space for magic instruction, a library, spell casting, a gathering area for the coven, etc.
Accessed only by portal, which is summoned by a spell entrusted to high-ranking Gemini members
