"what should I draw???" dinosaur

hey friends, what would call this/how would you describe it in search terms when trying to buy one?

it's essentially a thin, flat sheet of metal with a handle on it. used in this case for spreading paint on a canvas, but i'm almost certain its original use is for something completely different.

i've seen it used in a couple different youtubers' videos but i cannot for the life of me find one myself.

I NEED THE HELP OF TRADITIONAL ARTISTS AND PAINTERS PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO READ

I'm planning a big gift for my dad and I want a physical painting of a location that has a lot of sentimental value for us. And I have multiple questions for all of you!!

1) Since I want a physical painting that he can hang up and frame, I'm hoping to get someone in my area because I'm a highschool student and can't afford the cost of the painting plus shipping. I'm not worried because I live in a big city but I'm also not sure how to go about finding someone in my area. I don't exactly have the biggest social media platform to get people's attention. Any tips are GREATLY appreciated.

2) My dad's birthday is in March. How long does it usually take to finish a painting? I'm aiming for one that's about 1 1/2 ft in length and a foot in height. Or somewhere around that size. Id like to know how far in advance I should request a commission and if it can be made in time for my dad's birthday.

3) I don't know anything about pricing of physical paintings. Especially for ones as big as I'd like mine! Id like to know if my budget of $2k is reasonable or if I need to wait longer to save. I respect the art community immensely and wanted to pay correctly and accordingly.

My previous account was banned, you can, it was starting to spread and my campaign got attention but unfortunately it was banned, you can see it from HERE

I will rewrite my story again. I hope you read it carefully and help if you can.

I am Abdullah Musa, I am 20 years old. I am still a young man. I do not have any job and I cannot get money. It is unfortunate to ask for money in this way, but that is life.

The campaign started after hesitation and deep thinking, but I saw myself forced to do this campaign for several reasons. The first and most important reason is to evacuate from war, fear, and the terrifying sounds of bombs and planes, to escape from living in a tent, to escape from fear. I want a life in which there are only the basics (water, food, electricity, internet, and safety).

The second goal, which is very important to me, is to study medicine and complete my dream that I had since childhood. I had started my first year of university and I was planning my future and dreams, but everything went away when the war came and destroyed my university. Yesterday, I started studying in Egypt and my friend sent me a picture from the beginning of the school year. It was a sad feeling.

This is a picture of me when I was a kid and my dreams were there.

Acrylic Paint?

Hey folks, I'm painting since even though it's been a month since the surgery I still can't do much with my left hand, certainly no crafting.

I'm pretty new to acrylics and the tube paints I ordered are all separated. How do I mix up the paint without squishing it all out and then mixing it? (I'm trying to paint the ring on a Ring-billed Gull, we aren't talking a lot of paint...)

My brother surprised me with a box of Nicker poster colors, which are apparently the same paints used by the background artists at Studio Ghibli. I am delighted.

I am now also learning the following; a) a new medium and techniques for it since I'm used to acrylics. b) what, exactly, poster colors are. c) how to finally accurately mimic the Ghibli style. d) to paint faster. and finally, e) all of the papers that the poster colors Do Not Like.

I don't suppose anyone has any recommendations for US brand equivalents to the Muse New TMK Poster Paper, which seems to be the ideal paper for Nicker poster colors?

On the note of """"fandom colors"""", I just want all you artists to know that you don't have to come up with color designs out of your head in order for things to be valid. Referencing design, photos, etc for color pallets is an IMPORTANT part of character and graphic design. (Just like using references for poses!!!) I like to find photos of landscapes or flowers and mosaic blur them- then pick the colors I like out of those. Great way to make cohesive and we'll balanced pallets.
